You have the right thought, but it is a case that is dismissed with prejudice that can’t be refilled....according to Premium times, this was dismissed without prejudice, which means it can be refiled.

That said, am skeptical about this report; am currently looking at USA v Ponle on legal monitor docket, that order is not here...the last entry on his file was by Honorable Judge Gabriel Fuentes and and it’s is about no bond been set for him.

That was how it was reported few days ago that Hushpuppi has been released, but on research...he was only released from Chicago jail to Prison Transport to be take to LA where his case has been transferred to.

I wouldn’t believe anything from these blogs until confirmed independently.

Any judge preceding this case is just wasting time, in order words this is a sexual harrasssment case and an attempt to have carnal knowledge without consent and an attempt to cause bodily harm, to me audio recordings isnt enough evidence for me to sentence this man, if the woman wants a fair trial she should present concrete evidence that proves beyond all reasonable doubt, this case to me lacks merit and concrete evidence, and 4 lack of better words Useless case and dead on arrival, the man should tell d judge he was drunk and under d influence of alcohol so he can't recall any of such even happening, or he was under duress anything he said is just a fragment of her own imagination, then I close this useless case! You can successfully sue someone over an oral contract, which essentially means the only evidence is your words over the other person's. Judges usually will examine the credibility of both litigants before rendering a judgement.

You are right if you say that, your 'word against their's' evidence is hard to proof, but it does not mean that, it is not evidence. The audio tape in this case will collaborate her word of mouth evidence...the onus will now switch to the guy to either deny if it was not him on the recording or if it is fabricated....and he runs a chance of lying under oath, if he lies.

Defamation cases merely means, someone is telling lies publicly against you in order to tarnish your image....And the defense is usually if the event truly took place. In this case, this lady have an audio tape to back her side of the story, the guy have to proof that he is not the one on the tape or that, the lady digitally imposed his voice on the tape to win on a defamation case.

There is no Judge that will dismiss an audio recording that is relevant to the case at hand and was properly authenticated and introduced into evidence, especially when they are exculpatory as this tape is.

His remorsefulness as you have stated have no bearing on his prosecution or the call for justice. However, the Judge can consider his remorsefulness or the lacks therefore at the penalty phase of the trial, which come after persecution and conviction.

Back then I was using an old android phone which I refused to change cos I’m of the opinion that the phone I use shouldn’t define me. Well the phone didn’t have a fingerprint sensor and I didn’t like the idea of having to type in a password or pin every time I needed to use my phone so I left it unlocked.

It was a friend of mine that sent me a message on WhatsApp “Na she?”...When I opened the message I was confused It wasn’t funny back then... I felt like slapping the girl up from sleep but then I was like “No Wahala”. I deleted the WhatsApp status and went back to sleep. In the morning I started getting fb notifications...omg! the notifications were from her pics on my fb story, I was like wtf!...you kidding right?

I immediately took down her pictures and had to put up a post on my timeline to serve as a disclaimer, stating that the pictures weren’t uploaded by me. Some of my friends on fb made jokes out of that incident.

No one advised me to get a new phone the next week...hence forth I locked my WhatsApp with fingerprint. She didn’t like that...

Using a PIN is still the best though....as they can either slip your thumb out while sleeping and open the phone.

Or...wait till that time you gave them the phone innocently to answer a call, play a game or do something else, and they can easily add an extra thumbprint to the phone.

What different qualifications did he submitted to INEC?

What he submitted during his first term where affidavits, stating the year he graduated, etc on the ground that he lost his certificates.

What he submitted now, are his true certificates after he might have found them and/or got replacements.

In the county of law, the rule of evidence usually consider the more reliable source. His actual certificates overrides what he stated in his affidavit. The court cannot hold both equal and adjudged that he lied. Even if the court go that, route, what was his motive of lying that he graduated in 1976 vs 1979? Was there anything to be gained or was it a mere memory lapses?

I think the scope of the court here will be to examine his currently submitted credentials if they meet the INEC provision and if they do the case will be strike out.

Don’t sue anyone....go the social media route instead.

Put up a Facebook page with a title akin to you looking for your mom.

Put as much as you can remember about you growing up, with pictures of your, your father, siblings, town, etc.

Keep updating with new info as you remember them and start connecting with people, I bet you will find your mother or reasonable answers within a year.

Her rights to privacy, which is backed by Nigeria laws; overrides and trumps your inflated sense of entitlement to know.

That said, like I had earlier indicated...depending on the family dynamics, it is up to her to choose to disclose or not to disclose her where about. None of us know what happened that made her to choose not to do so, but it is her right.

That is not true.

She can choose to inform them out of courtesy and respect....and that depends on the mutual dynamics and depth of relationship and friendship among all of the family members....the family have no right to know, as an adult, she is entitle to her privacy until she chooses to give them up.

Also, the family's desire to know and be informed does not create any obligation on her part. 5G Technology is open source with 3gpp as the custodian of that technology and the US companies are chief contributors to that technology.

I believe you must be talking about 5G deployments and indigenous US 5G companies, which US does not have much of because, unlike China that the government can bank-roll a deployment, US is capitalist and profit based.

As far as 5G development is concern US is in the fore front, however labor cost have made off-shoring manufacturing a more attractive and profitable alternatives hence these components come from abroad.

The fact that my iPhone is imported from China does not mean China is ahead in iPhone technology. Economy of scale make it more logical to import it from China rather than manufacturing it locally in the US.

There were debates in the US around 2017 for the need for the US government to step in and deploy 5G using her huge financial power, just like is obtainable in communist China and it was decided against because they felt it will negate capitalism.

However, it means the US government have options to turn this around if they so choose, so I don’t see the lack of deployment as a disadvantage, it is a choice the US took, so that businesses and consumers can drive the technological deployments.

Before Covid-19, ventilators were mainly imported from China, but US invoked the Defense Authorization Act and ordered GE to start mass production, which they started doing. Which means, the technology was there all along, also the development was there....they were not just doing implementation because it makes no business sense to do so locally.

Look as both of them just humble as matter don enter express.
