SmartProf:
It's the same story in cities and villages accross Nigeria. Meanwhile some persons claim to be state governors while others say they are honourable members representing constituents, but in reality roads accross the nation is in a mess. The good roads are the ones that leads to government houses in all states and those that leads to where they keep their loot. While the roads that leads to their supporters houses are a highway for rats, snakes, bats, ducks. That's why u see such supporters on Nairaland posting photos of what they keep killing around their houses.

I was just muttering the same thing to myself in anger.
It's the height of irresponsibility that adults will arrange drinking competition for a bunch of 11 year old boys!
Am not saying that this can not happen in Nigeria, but it will be very difficult for it to happen here, but some of our other African brothers are something else; that is why they often grown up to be drunk layabouts.
Politics › Re: We Will Fix Refineries With Money Saved From Subsidy Removal - Timipre Sylva by lozanni(m): 9:40pm On Sep 11, 2020
Racoon:
This is another scam or corruption loading.Kyari & Sylva should perish that idea.If after promising 4 refineries in its first term but only apologized for failure to fulfill same.

El Rufai once recommended that the NNPC should be privatised but the corruption therein is so sweet.Atiku said same thing but myopic reason will not allow people to see the good side of it.Now after consuming chunk of Nigeria's resources, the moribund refineries are up for another corruption in the name of rehabilitation or TAM. So who is fooling who in this nation?

All the agitations for protests now should have been uncalled for if the APC allowed the subsidy of 2012 to be removed. Now, after COVID19 economic meltdown, they're now adding this burden. It's needful but the timing is bad.So kindly privatize & see how it goes.Enough!
I believe the old refineries should be scrapped as they obsolote, while new ones should be built and handed over to private firms to manage efficiently

If the money you saved is not part of the original profit due to your Oga i.e if your boss said you should sell an item for N100 (which includes his profit), but you succeeded in selling it for N120, that extra N20 is your profit and you can keep that.
Most bosses know the above scenerio happens in their shops, but are not really bothered about it if their own profit is intact.

LMAO grin

Don't be naive. Even if you were (we know you are), you won't get it. The PDP whom the South East has served dutifully for over 16 years won't even hand a ticket to you, even if it means testing the waters.

The party you so much despise won't be reckless to hand their ticket to you. The biggest Igbo politician under the APC (Ngige), having tasted ministerial power equated his political power with Tinubu's, the one man the North fears and dread.

Trust me, the two major parties won't hand a ticket to the South East and we know this. So, whether or not you are interested is useless.

Dr. Olukayode is paid to 'do the Lord's work' here and publicity is the job he got contracted to do. There is no urgency anywhere because this 'urgency' is paid for by your very own politicians.
You write as if you are gifted with divine knowledge and vision in assuming that neither of the political parties will give their presidential ticket to a South Eastern candidate come 2023.
I wish to remind you that power belongs to God, and he will give it to whom he freely chooses, even events that happened during the 2015 General elections ought to be a pointer to this fact.
Also there are just and equitable politicians in both parties, I believe, who might rightly feel the ticket should go to the Southeast zone.

Today, I told my wife to start feeding our 18 month old son sma baby milk once a day so he could take in all the necessary nutrients from the milk since he was never breast fed.

Note: he eats cerelac in the morning, yoghurt at 12 noon, Eba/Amala at 4pm and cerelac again in the night. I mentioned to her to find a way to feed him sma milk at least once a day but instead she started arguing with me.

What do i do?
It seems your wife was born and bred in a different social setting from yours. In her background, breast milk and pap might have been the standard food for babies and not canned baby milk. Ask her if she can prepare baby milk from the canned baby food, as she might not know how to do it. grin
Seriously, you need to sit down with her and find out why she does not want to give your baby the canned tinned milk and even dress him in good clothes; you might get to find out the reason why she is acting the way she is.

I appreciate the lady's sincere stance; it's better to say 'no' than accepting his proposal only to break his heart later.
I pray the young guy finds the right woman for him, because most young guys wonder if they will ever find the woman who will love them as they are.
The film, 'Four weddings and a funeral' shows the above thought runs through the minds of most young men.

I know some locals who will make sales and proceed to share their profit and capital (unknowingly) to their various girlfriends grin; then tommorow that local person will turn around and wonder why their business failed.
That is why those locals knowing their weakness for women and partying mentality will only resort to selling of building materials; though some locals are now being properly tutored and mentored by Igbos to overcome their excesses, while adopting sound financial principles to make their businesses grow.

grin

When government make this kind of law without considering the impact on the masses, get to know one of their buddies is about to start transportation business in Lagos
Government is right in trying to expand their income base due to the fall in oil prices which is also reflected on the Federal allocations they get.
However, the SOCIAL COSTS of any new policy they seek to implement should be considered as well. If the new service charges on the drivers are implemented without regard to the drivers and the fleet owners, millions of people , including the The TNC companies like Uber and Bolt staff could end up being thrown out of job.
The multiplier effect of the above policy on the economy, safety and well being of citizens as a result of the above is better imagined than experienced !
I have a feeling that the government is yet to fully understand the cost factors involved in the operation of e-hailing service companies and their operators, so they need to take time to study the industry rather than just wrongly assuming that the industry is a cash cow waiting to be milked endlessly.
