They'll deny. . But any intelligent fellow can tell that Yorubas have been dominant in the film industry more so than any other ethnicity

Our yoruba movies cannot be compared with hausa or igbo movies

Even in english films, we give quality not quantity

Communication means :the successful conveying or sharing of ideas ,information and feelings.
Wouldn't it be better if everyone could communicate in one language instead of having interpreters ? What matters most is simply the ease of transfer of the message. Now imagine how difficult it would have been for Africans to understand each other if most Africans nation weren't unified by English or French language.
I'm not implying that people should suddenly abolish their languages and embrace English. Gradually, all of that will eventually happen. As I mentioned earlier, most people in Norway,Sweden,Denmark,Finland,Germany understand English language and speak it fluently as a second language. There are American and Canadian teachers teaching English in Japan,China,Singapore and South Korea, and most people there understand English . English is already the universal lingual Franca, although Chinese language has the largest number of speakers .
Lol. You people like to say some crazy shiit grin
So because people learn English in Japan, South Korea, Sweden etc it means they should drop their language for English? When did being multilingual become a bad thing? Why can't an African have his language and speak it fluently while learning english?
English is only what it is cause it was once the language of the largest empire and dominant political power, due to that today's world power USA has english as its official language. Tomorrow another language can become what you call "lingual franca".
The only reason why english is the official language of a country like nigeria is diversity, kill this worthless diversity and create homogeneous states in africa and watch African languages develope
Our languages are very important, a yoruba man cannot express himself in any language better than yoruba. Our ideas and logic are cemented in our language

You guys check this out....wooo, this makes me want to start studying hieroglyphics now...maybe i can decode like these guys.

Orunmila/Hor mila/Harum Mila
The messiah' actually referrer to the Word from heaven, (John 6:25-35 and Mat1:18-24) called 'Harum mila' in ancient Hebrew. The Yorubas of Nigeria in their traditional religion of Ifa (Ephod by Septuagint and Ifa or Afa in Hebrew) called the name Orunmila (Hor'mila/Harum mila).
The bible passages you gave has nothing to do with what you're talking about

do you speak hebrew? Or u just listen to every dumb fellow? Cus "Harum" would mean Forbidden like "Haram" in Arabic. And has nothing to do with orunmila
Ephod is nothing but a ritual material worn by ancient jewish priests, it has nothing to do with Ifa

Don't worry I understand what you mean, but many will not give up their culture and language without a fight. Life is short and Everyone will someday die.We are here to make the best of our time .Why hold on to backward and unproductive ways of doing things ? You see,The only superior culture are the most beneficial and effective and progressive ways of doing things . Nigeria for instance is united by the English language. That is a better method than having too many languages and not understanding each other . There is no god waiting for twin sacrifice anywhere ,so we abolish the killing of twins and embrace the better method. Pit toilets are outdated ,so we abolish that and embrace the better method of doing things . Japanese high speed trains, green tea ,meditation and Yoga seem effective and progressive ,so we adapt that as part of the universal standard .
Behavioral patterns have been studied and now we understand human nature and human behavior better .
After many years of research ,we have discovered better ways of doing things and understanding the world. There are universal standards . For example, skyscraper ,modern toilet ,asphalt roads, traffic lights ,electricity, organized housing , high-speed trains ,Ferris wheel , beach umbrellas ,or Tshirt ,etc. are neither American,Swedish or Ethiopian culture;those are simply the better methods of doing things . It is pointless holding on to traditional African pit toilet when a better method has been invented .It is pointless holding on to primitive and backward traditions when better methods have been invented .
In terms of Language however, although it is difficult to suddenly abandon one's traditional lingua franca, but the eventual goal is for the entire world to be anglicized, and that will eventually happen someday . It is pointless having so many languages and holding on to primitive cultures . I think that Africans should accept and implement the better method of doing things instead of holding on to retrogressive cultures and vilifying the better method of doing things as being too white or too western. There are numerous American and Canadian teachers teaching English in Japan,China and many parts of Asia.
In this system of societal organization, the entire southern Africa would be one country. The entire west Africa would be one country. The entire north Africa would be one country. The entire east Africa would be one country. Egypt could remain an independent country due to it's history. Universal Lingua Franca :English.
You've made absolutely no sense man. You don't expect an independent people to abandon their identity for a foreign one
Try as you like if you aren't english you can never be english

Why are you not replying. As a literate, I believe you have your cogent reasons for embracing traditional religion. kindly enlighten me as I am ready to learn. Do not shy away from this with flimsy excuse. Thanks
There's nothing like traditional religion. That's white man's myopic reference to a form of Spirituality than is interwoven with the traditions of a people

1. Both Christianity and Islam are oppressive and aggressive religions that fills a man with hatred and bigotry. Which are bad for human Sociality. When a people live together in a community it is most progressive for them to follow the same standards and anyone going contrary be punished for what we can call a "crime or taboo"

2. As intolerant religions with strict dogmas, an African man cannot live his ethnic identity...unless he wants to be what you call "Kafir", mixing islam(or christianity) with tradition ie. Oba Ogunwusi. Tell me where then do you get your standards from? Bible? Quran or the recorded traditions? What psychological conflict you bring upon yourself, the same bible and quran that preaches against and declares all evil on that tradition, and even against eachother

3. There lays greater knowledge in traditions passed from centuries ago, the ancestors having a long time to reflect on what they do in understanding of the world and it's creator. Subsequent generations should keep the foundations of these traditions and build upon the knowledge of their ancestors, not destroy it..it comes with greater pride as a people; a nation, not to forget the science hidden beneath the mysticism. There's more to celebrate - your culture, your history, your past achievements, and a lot to show the world. A people who have forgotten where they came from cannot know where they are going. Why do you think africa is in such miserable state? We used to be better than this, check our history before Islam and christianity, we built civilizations that others envy

4. It helps you build a solid and greater relationship with your Eleda(Ori) cus you are closer to your ancestors and they walk with you. You cannot deny your ancestors spiritually, they live on in you as you lived in them. Your Ori is your guidance in this life and a good knowledge of your past helps you to shape your future. A mental slave who believes in his enemies over his father and uses his hand to destroy his father's house is a worthless human being with a dead spirit.
You are only muslim cause your parents were Muslims, first of all because arabs came to africa to sell their refined traditions called islam. . This was a move by the arabs to dominate you in your own land. Check it, arabs control north africa today and Iraq, Iran etc, sudan is a lost country without direction except from the arabs

FESTIVITIES

Though the Ilaje are scattered in various places along the coastal lines, at various times of the year, they all returnto their home base in Ondo to celebrate some of their festivals, which include: masquerading (the Umale festival), Malokun (a fertility festival for the goddess of the sea), regatta and periodically, the Epo (Raffia-costumed masquerade), which was used to scare the people of Ife before the Moremi saga.
During these celebrations, there is the uniquely polyphonic renditions of both the Biripo traditional music and the Ilaje spirituals of the Zion Christian sect.
They also offer supplications to great river goddess known as Aiyelala a a place called "ita aiyelala"

MONOARCHIAL SYSTEM

Ugbo is the major town in Ilaje land and is under the paramount ruler known as the OLU-UGBO of ugbo.
Beside ugbo, there are three other major clans,These include Mahin, Aheri and Etikan. Aheri is presided over by the Maporure and Etikan is headed by the Onikan of Etikan while Ugbo is headed by the Amapetu of Mahin.
The other royal titles include:
Oliha - The Chief Priest
Ologbosere - The King Maker
Iyasere - The King's Spokesperson/Second in command
Which of this defers from fellow yorubas?

According to traditional belief, the Ooni is a god. Of course, he can choose to pay allegiance to another god. That is the prerogative of the Ooni.

The angle from which the critics are coming is that the Ooni chose to pay allegiance to an Hebrew God rather than a god in the Yoruba pantheon of deities. Which should raise eyebrows because there are over 100 deities in the Yoruba pantheon.

Christians should not quote me. The Oba of Benin will not kneel in a church because he does not pay allegiance to the Hebrew God. Call him diabolical or not. He chose core tradition and he has as much if not more right to his belief than you do.

-Lord
This is the main reason why I respect the Oba of Benin. The Obas at Benin keep making their people and ancestors proud
