Please what's the best time to land then? When are the favourable months?

Anywhere from May to Sept

Hello all,

I would require your advise learned and experienced people, is landing during winter (Jan) a good idea? I am concerned that we may end up spending 3 months being indoors when we land because of the weather. It may make more sense to retain our jobs in Nigeria and land afterwards. I will appreciate your views please.

1. Any advantages of landing in winter?

2. Would one be able to get a job at the time or would you advise we wait until after the harsh weather?

Thank you!

Avoid landing during winter at all costs. Go to a deep freezer and stick your hand in it. Imagine trying to navigate a new country with such a weather. Respect yourself.

Dear fellow Nigerians.
I need clarification..I am an Intending PPR expectant.
My wife is currently pregnant, and we are yet to get PPR.so it is obvious we will get PPR after almost wen she is about
putting to birth.I want to ask.how can I go about her delivery cost since I might not get health card/insurance card.
Will I be paying all bills for her delivery. Kindly educate me so I can know how to go about it.

Research if the province you'll be landing in will give you health insurance right away. If Not, and your wife will be delivering around the time you won't have insurance, you'll have to pay out of pocket. These are your only options really.

Good morning house,
Pls I'm asking for a friend.
She will be landing in a few days and she wants to get health insurance from here for a family of 4.

Pls should she go ahead and do it from here? I think ethopian air travel insurance , heard it covers the 1st 3months after landing.

Or is there any other way to get insurance before the Canadian one kicks in (considering it takes roughly 3months)? Or should she wait till she arrives Canada? She has small kids 2& 8yrs . Although they are not sickly, but shes just trying to be cautious.

What's your take pls.?

Depends on the province she'll be living in. If the province she'll be going to requires a 3 month wait, I'd rather buy health insurance in Canada.

U haven't finished ma. 24 hrs electricity, free healthcare, good universities, clean water, passport visa free to over 140 countries in d world amongst many others. Brazil is not a third world country. You can use the internet for research.

Only the few elites enjoy those luxuries. But you can say that about every country. Brazil is a 3rd world shithole. Whoever is planning to have their baby there better just stay in naija. This is like someone with one leg bragging about his mobility to someone with no legs. Both are still disabled. Brazil is slightly better than naija, but make no mistakes both are shithole

Hmmm...and why is that?

I learnt that there's a number of affluent Asians communities in Canada...especially in the Vancouver area of British Columbia province .

So what is the excuse of the Blacks presently living in Canada...even if their population is low?

Those blacks think and act like black Americans down south. They have a victim mentality.

There's a few affluent Asian communities in B.C. they're into money laundering from China. They don't count. Most legit Asian aren't better off than blacks.

It's like counting the Nigerians who do 419 as a affluent African group. And racism towards blacks is worse than any other visible minority group here.

You know, come to think of it...the UK is not an immigrant country as compared to the US.

I want to believe that the UK just seems to show some kind of accommodation to foreigners out of showing it in a superficial way to promote diversity.

The US on the other hand has to allow diversity because of its history and how the country came to be in existence.

A better comparison would be between the US and Canada as to why there are no affluent black communities in Canada compared to the US.

I disagree. Blacks make up 2 percent of the Canadian population and probably at best half of that 2 percent aren't even first generation. Black influence in Canada is at it's infancy. The black Americans who crossed the border during the American civil war don't count I feel.

This is one area where most Nigerians need a mental adjustment. THERE IS DIGNITY IN HONEST LABOUR!!! Even if he went there to wash toilets, it is dignifying to be able to work with your own hands and pay your bills. There's no big deal about being a mechanic.

His ignorance is why Nigeria is a shithole. I know a "regular" mechanic who makes 80- 100k thousand dollars per year. And I remember meeting a heavey duty mechanic who worked for an oil company and he was making close to 200k thousand dollars per year. I think his hourly wage was close to 100 dollars per hour. Mechanics in the West get paid !

but they also have predominately middle class and upper middle-class blacks neighborhoods while in the uk it is non existence among black there

black Americans spending power is about 1.2 trillion US, that is more than the spending power of uk blacks and also more than the gdp of some eastern European countries

The U.S. has the world's biggest economy. So naturally black Americans would have a bigger GDP than other blacks around the world. The data is skewed because a guy like LeBron James or P.DIddy who makes millions per year, would automatically increase the average income of a black American due to their insane yearly salary. But it still doesn't tell the true picture of the average yearly black American salary.

Please can someone direct me to a step by step process. Is there a link?

What documents are required from her as a pensioner..:: and have in mind that we will be applying from Nigeria.

Also the application will be online and not paper. Thank u

You're not a PR until you land in Canada. Focus on your landing then mother next. But to answer your question immigration canada web site has all the info you need.

I've never understood why guys feel they can't hold their pee and think it's okay to go around urinating in public. It's very bad manners in my opinion and canada or not, legal or not please start exercising the necessary discipline.

Do we think ladies have bigger bladders or what? Yet how many times can one see a lady squatted by the road side? In fact a good number of ladies suffer incontinence following pregnancy and childbirth yet don't go about behaving like bladder control is a myth.

I think you're jealous guys can pee standing up.

Based on the realities that money no too plenty for this side, one of the options is to work 2 jobs, afterall Nigerians brag they can hustle. So na so I dey look this second job thing that has been offered to me:

Leave home by 8am for Job 1 that starts by 9.30am and ends by 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Then one hour bus home and arrive home by 7pm max.

Leave home 8pm for Job 2 that starts by 10pm and ends by 6am Sunday Night to Thursday morning. One hour bus home and arrive home by 7am.

Sleep time - 1hour at break time at night and anything that can be snatched during the day.

Is this feasible?

No. 2 jobs is tough. I personally can't do it.

Actually, you are allowed to hit a child, between the age of 2 and 12, in Canada as per section 43 of the criminal code. But, there are restrictions to the beating.

What is Section 43 of the Criminal Code?

Section 43, codified in 1892, is the law that allows parents, teachers and those standing in place of parents to use force to "correct" children as long as the force does not exceed what is "reasonable" under the circumstances

Among other things the Court restricted its use to children between the ages of 2 and 12, and stated it must be "transitory and trifling" must not involve objects such as rulers and belts, and may not be applied to the head

But the fact is ....

Most Canadians have never heard of section 43 of the Criminal Code

That's more like spanking. You need force that'll make the child think twice for next time.

Deny it. Tell them your pikin is vex because u gave them a time out at home. Then beat them even harder for telling their school when they get home. Again no evidence is the key. Careful of cell phones too.

How do y'all handle disciplining young children in Canada?

Beat them in private and don't leave any proof like scars. Close your curtains to avoid witnesses as well.

Good evening everyone. Please I want to ask, what's the best way to handle one's landed property here in Nigeria before leaving? Is it better to sell it off or hand it over to someone to take care of?

Keep it if you can. You'll need a place to stay when you comeback to visit.

Not the first time I'm seeing her do that across all travel thread.. She seems to have some uncanny hatred toward Canada... Reason best known to her anyways... How are you Sir Maternal? Good work you're doing on the Canada thread smiley

She's not too smart really. Her shade is usually the same and honestly dumb. They re as follow:

1. Canadians come to America for healthcare

2. Richer middle class

Each time those 2 things are proven wrong with facts, then she'll disappear. Look for her to repeat those 2 things in a few months from now. Even if everyone in Canada feels the country is perfect, wetin concern her ? Why is that vexing her ? To answer your question I'm doing good.
