Ikengawo:

i hear people saying he's nigeria's tupac and now there's going to be a documentary on him lol. give me a break

that pom pom pom song was cool but people need to stop acting like he was so revolutionary martyr before he died. we're just embarrassing ourselves.

fela and tupac are more comparable because they were both powerful symbols for the people they represented and motivated people with music.

but da grin?

come on lol. no hate no the guy, he's ok, but he's wasn't even in the top 20 nigerian artists before dying. lets relax.

I know a lot of people will chew you for this but I'm solidly behind you cheesy
But to be candid, i almost slapped a dude who bragged to me last month that Dagrin was the best rapper to have come out of Naija I was frigging pissed! His lyrics were weak kinda(my opinion though). I never liked his music, but when he died,i felt sorry for him/family and that's all. sad We all will die someday anyway.
Overrated? I agree 100%
Politics / Re: Tears As 40 Persons Roast To Death In Multiple Auto Crash by matiltomd(f): 10:30am On Aug 17, 2010
GoldCircle:

It is indeed a tragedy! But wait o! Why our papers dey lie?? They like blowing every little detail they've got out of proportion. I followed the news of this accident through out on TV yesterday (Sunday) on NN@4 and and other electronic media and no one reported a death toll as high as twenty!. I was indeed very shocked to see screaming headlines on our Nigerian dailies this morning on my way to work! 40 FEARED KILLED! 42 Lives Wasted!!! and so on! c'mon. . . what would they gain by doing this? Just tell the truth the way it is!

Even CNN reported 15 people dead! http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/africa/08/16/nigeria.crash/#fbid=D6CF9HwdL4m&wom=false

May they Rest in peace!

Nothing was blown out of proportion;in fact the Nigerian media played it down. 2 commercial buses equates 30pax;15 each(FRSC has stopped the from carrying 18),now add the private cars to that number, how did CNN come up with 15? You should disregard CNN's figures pls.
Back to the topic,i don't think we have a true police force in this country. Police chiefs deny on a daily basis that their men don't take bribe. When you travel on Lagos/Ibadan expressway, you'll definitely be stopped by at least 3 of their illegal "toll gates". Frank Mba knows he's a liar and he knows we know he's lying so let's just allow him enjoy himself before the cameras/midgets. Brake failure or not, the police checkpoint caused/worsened it! cry
The incident was pretty unfortunate;i remember my mum calling me that Sunday(I traveled to Ibadan from Lagos earlier). Her voice was shaking already;she was more than scared.
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace.  cry

Family / Re: Will Contract Marriage Work In Nigeria? by matiltomd(f): 3:43pm On Aug 09, 2010
kenis:

What i meant is having a formal agreement with a lady or gal to live with you, have a number of kids under the agreement and go her way after afterwords, without coming to say hi. Whether money or no money is between both of ya. what is important is the agreement between you both. After which you will be free to,  and , do whatever you want.

Thanks a whole lot, Doesn't sound inviting to me though,
Don't be surprised if some Nigerian girls accept it, It depends on the individual. I don't support it but if the next person feels OK with it,no big deal. I actually have a friend who says she needs a dude to just impregnate her and that's all. No attachment whatsoever, and she can continue with her life;she's 29 and she still wants that, She doesn't want a husband;just 1 kid and that'll be all,
Different strokes I'd say;one man's joy is another's nightmare,

I also appreciate the use of decent words;you guys weren't volatile despite the fact that the debate became heated at a point. I was born in the mid 80s(85 to be precise)and i didn't know half of what you guys are talking about till i read this thread, Started from the thread;Zik's final resting place;someone referred to this thread).

@parnassuss;honestly i thought you were a youngster when i read your 1st post directed at Okija-Juju and was shocked when you said you are a Rtd soldier. maybe you should read your first comment and imagine it being posted by someone else who says he's a Rtd soldier? that was pretty immature. You could have passed your message along without those dirty words. As a retired soldier,i guess you should be around 50 something right? If that's true;then something is wrong with you that you yet to discover,
With all due respect please,

Redman44:

What have we really gained from sending our boys on Peacekeeping Missions with the UN? All the African countries we have helped to stop Civil Wars have turned back to hate us angry angry  Nigeria is hardly appreciated for anything by other African Nations. I feel it is time we start letting the ungrateful countries know that we have our own internal problems at home. If they don't stop hating on us, they can wave goodbye to us helping out when rebels cause problems in their countries. Cheers.

www.vibes-extra..com

Seconded! These countries are not appreciative,we get hatred in return so what's the point?

Cabal, godfathers in PDP to go next month –Nwodo[/size]

By CHIDI OBINECHE
Tuesday, August 3, 2010

He said that since President Goodluck Jonathan has vowed to deliver credible, free and fair elections next year, no stone would be left unturned in achieving it.
“The culture of indignity must go. If people do it elsewhere, why can’t we do it?
The slogan “power” had been cornered by godfathers and godmothers.
He appealed to the media to assist in the new drive for a decent democratic culture, vowing to be willing to pay the supreme sacrifice in its pursuit.
“I took an oath in my church in Enugu before the blessed sacrament that a mustard seed must die for a new tree to grow. I offer my life, so that we can have great men to lead this country.”

So they have godmothers too? Waoh! *Kalu's Mum i guess*
Come to think of it,is this not the same Nwodo who said "Zoning is Dead" only for him to make a U-Turn the next day? I don't trust this man.
You offer your life? How "Jesusish" grin
Health / Re: I Want To Become Fat And Heavy. Pls Advice. by matiltomd(f): 9:37am On Aug 03, 2010
I'm equally trying to add weight;my fiance complains about the new me(slim) a lot,cos he didn't meet me this way and he likes girls with flesh(not very fat tho)coupled with the fact that I've got gastric ulcer. I've been eating a whole lot of junk foods and been seeing the results, i finished 1 pack Kelloggs Rice Krispies within one week grin,i also eat french fries every other day. Basically, change your eating habits OK? Eat very well, and a lot of junks too. When you're alright with your size, then maintain it, grin

I walked into a store about 13months back to get a pack of condoms. A couple of guys and women were also in the store;the crowd was a bit much. The attendant just screamed 'Aunty, what do you want?". I replied coolly that i needed a pack of of condoms and the whole shop turned back to stare at me! I returned their stare and replied "I guess it's better than buying Postinor 2". Everyone just started laughing, In fact one woman had to tell me that "hey that was bold", But for crying out loud,I'm no kid please,
Religion / Re: Another One: Redeemed Pastor Arrested Over N8m Fraud by matiltomd(f): 5:48pm On Jul 28, 2010
Those who think the address sounds unreal should go to Alagbado/Agege and hear worse street names (Power Line and the likes). I don't expect PM News to furnish us with the description of the place(how to get there or whatever some might be expecting). PM News do publish alarming stories but not that they are lies. They sell a copy for N20 so how else do you expect them to capture your attention? They must have screaming/shocking headlines,
@aieromon;why do you need to know where the cheques were gotten from or the identity of the cashier? Are you a policeman? Sure the appropriate authority is already working on the case bro!

@080Nigeria;you got me rolling on the floor with "Let the guy in question stop offending our intelligence with noise from the highly substandard TV station he controls telling of 'achievements' he doesn't have". If CNN is a station, will you call B.C.O.S. a station also? Lol. That station is a "state disgrace".
But to be candid,Alaafin and Ram/Lam Adeshina should come out with proof and stop heating up the already heated polity,   Lol

FBS:

Care to explain the difference in the context of this topic?

You beat me to it!

On the other hand,i think the most important thing is to marry your best friend,  If you see your spouse as your best friend,i don't think any form of "privacy" is needed. But if you're married, and you still need a particular form of privacy;i honestly don't understand that kinda marriage. What are you "privatizing" from each other? grin grin But honestly, what are you two hiding from each other?
You forfeited your privacy the day you signed the dotted lines (by inviting someone else into it), So deal with it fast! cheesy
You need privacy? Better don't get married, grin grin

Politics / Re: Onovo Snaps Over Questions About His Award ! by matiltomd(f): 6:36pm On Jul 25, 2010
His reply should have been "do you think i don't desrve it"? That could have put him in a more intelligent light (though we know he's not). I'm sure Obasanjo is his role model cos he's worse when it comes to answering questions from journalists, Journalists shouldn't in any way romance you with their questions, they should annoy and provoke you, Obviously Onovo is used to silly journalists who ask him questions like " Sir,ever since you assumed duties at the helm of affairs of the NP,we've witnessed tremendous changes;like you have a magic wand. Sir,how did you achieve this feat"? And the silly man would have smiled, chuckled, coughed before he replies,

I have a cousin who was in SA for a coupla years;met a dude (a low profile juju artiste) and they got married(she's not been doing anything over there). She was almost deported about 2years back so she had to dash back home with her hubby. Her mum called me last month that she'd hustled back to SA to go meet the dude still with no reasonable job,no degree,no vocational skill, she can't even do back-up singing for the dude and i heard she just gave birth to their 2nd child last week,   The guy's been screaming to us that he's tired and he wants her back in Nigeria,  (Silly dude, but he get time give am 2nd belle)
I do wish she was deported honestly and I'm not being mean,  I still believe there are so many untapped opportunities in Nigeria except you're just plain lazy!
