You are missing it. Being a former public servant, an interested party in the election at a time and considering the timing, there was every reason to be investigated. The E.F.C.C had been petitioned. They had a duty to investigate.

The issue you raised initially is that Sowore shouldn't have been arrested. We're not talking about extra-judicial killings by the government or other unrelated breaches of the constitution by the Fg.

Is he having his day in court? Yes.
If you do the same thing in US,would you be charged? Absolutely yes. And would you have your day in court? Yes,that is,if any of the secret agencies don't eliminate the person before he gets to the court.

Can Buhari go before the American BAR and say National security is more important than rule of law and the C.J will stand there clapping for him (wondering wetin en de secure).

Many Nigerians have been arrested on grounds of mere suspicion. It isn't the duty of you and I to investigate crimes of money laundering, it is for the relevant agencies to do that. They have been called to investigate what it was that was being carried. What's the big deal investigating what is being carried in a bullion van on the eve before an election day.

Follow up Trump's impeachment session and see how institutions are patriotic to the country and not president, doing their job regardless of how the president is affected. Note that they investigated and did not wait for the president to come give them details of his 'phonr calls.'

Now in both cases you mentioned, Buhari's government will arrest you and allow you give those narratives in court. Jonathan just allowed room for the insults and was truly accommodating. It won't take him anything to arrest Amaechi and Buhari, while they go to court to tell their side of the story.

In 2014, Amaechi threatened to form a parallel government if APC losses out on the elections, he was never arrested; nobody talked about the security implications of his comment.

Again, not too long ago, a supposed "Distinguished Senator" went to the hallowed chamber, took out our reverred instrument of sovereignty- the Maze of the National House. That has security implications, throwing questions of how we protect our sovereign institutions, no court action against him; but was instead rewarded.

Sometime ago, someone made a statement as to blood and baboons being soaked in blood. Nobody raised issues as to whether that is "hate speech" or heating up the polity.

Remember how same person labelled a tribe "5%" and his supporters kept chanting the slogan, not thinking if same is "hate speech."

How they turn around to boldly say Sowore's is heating the polity and there are security implications in his call for protest beats me. If that isn't hypocrisy, what is?

Remember power is transient. PDP still suffers the consequences of not sanitizing our elections. The "other party" may be a victim of the dangerous precedent it is setting now with regards to abuse of power.
