When you resign from parastatals and agencies you have right of return if you left honorably. Stipulations may require waiting out couple of months before rejoining. When he rejoins he will not get his tenure reinstated automatically.....his service years will be bridged after 3yrs of continous employment in good standing.

Amaechi and Fashola should be retained.
Ambode is going to Abuja, this is certain.

There are two areas of growth where continuity is desired. Power and Transportation. The two Ministers should be retained and made to continue in the two areas to encourage completions and sustainability. Bringing someone new in these areas could reta.rd progress and some loss in gains.

In contrast, Popoola's arts blend with depth into the spatial vectors, plus they center the mind....what is loosely called "eye candy". They are not sacred....but are symmetrically appealing. These arts are cheap at 3 million naira.

Now let me tell you something that we all must bear in mind, the islamisation agenda is real and it's unfolding. This is tns first time since I was born that I am seeing all heads of security headed by the same people with the same religion. I am seeing selective justice in the pages of the newspaper everyday of my life. I am seeing killers being pampared and rewarded with more money to buy more guns to kill more. I am seeing those who speak truth being called enemies of the state and DSS sent after them. I am seeing for the first time in my life an unarmed group being tagged a terrorist organization while an international recognized terrorist group called mere criminals. I am seeing collaborations by the southern people with the jihadist just for the sake of material gain eg Amechi,Oshiomole etc

The only way to survive in the trying times is for you all to conquer the fear of death and be ready to fight for people, for your faith, for your freedom, for your onborn children. Those who died do not have anything to worry about but if you are alive you must live with human dignity free from subjugation by other human breeds of different stocks.
There is nothing wrong in having all the security heads come from same ethnic background or religion but what you do with the power is what people will respond to.

In core North there are states where the entire security appointments and administration are all exclusive to one ethnic group and religion. Same thing in East, you have government and its appointees belonging to an exclusive group and religion. You do not complain of this pattern in your state government when your Governers in East discriminate against others because they from different state or religious belief, do you? Have you ever had a Muslim governor or deputy governor or in any elected office in your house of assemblies, in spite of the fact that you have SE Muslims? The answer is no.

Federal character is a culture of diversity. It is not only at FG level that a culture of diversity is expected, it should be practiced anywhere we have religious and indigenous diversities. I dont want to turn this thread into a SW/SE issue because the subject is not about region or party but about an issue that is common to impact all who are or likely to be on the receiving end of fulani-friendly programmes. If any group should have the right to complain about the non-diverse composition in Abuja, it should be SW, not SE where you are known to disqualify people because they come from elsewhere.

Forget about how security appointment is composed and focus on the programmes. The programmes is what we have issues with.

Gun ownership is under security. Banditry and terrorism is under security. Kidnap and murder is under security. Arson and vandalism is under security. Ransom, extortion and robbery is under security. ...and now giving broadcast channel to miyetti allah to send out crypted messages to its network of jihad missionaries is unacceptable! These are what people are rejecting.

We must have a government in place, so the business of electing Buhari is separate from the issues that on the table. We had a pro-PDP Assembly the entire 4 years, their duty is to correct or forbid the executive from instituting programmes that is injurious to the citizens. Correct? So how did Saraki and Ekweremadu do on their responsibility to us? How did Dogara and Lasun do? In fact, in addition to a ruling government under which these programmes rolled out, we also have a opposition government and is PDP. What is PDP looking at when all these programmes are formulated? Where is their priority and accountability? When ACN was oposition to PDP they held Jonathan's feet under fire and blocked him from rolling out programmes that are anti-people....and he attempted several times but failed. In one particular instance he got frustrated with Fashola and summoned the governor to Abuja.

Don't let me talk and wash you and your useless governors in East as well your vagabond PDP in shame. Let's just focus on this fulani topic, a common enemy to all and not argue about party or region. Ok? grin
Crime › Re: Residents Pull Electricity Official Off Ladder, Leaves Colleague Hanging On Pole by MetaPhysical: 7:21am On May 27, 2019
Here is an encounter between an official of PHCN and Araba of Osogbo, Chief Yemi Elebuibon. Let's learn from this lesson. Enjoy the story...

I don’t know how to translate this into English, but “ohun t’aba wi f’ogbo, logbo ngbo…” is the most popular Yoruba incantation used by Ifa believers to spellbind an individual; hypnotise the enemy or arrest an awkward situation. But some Ifa adherents don’t have to chant incantations. They are incantations themselves! The Araba of Osogbo, Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon, belongs to this class of esoteric clan of Ifa votaries.

It was about midday in the heart of Osogbo. Some officials of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria were on a mass disconnection at the Ayetoro area of the city capital. Snaillike, their vehicle inched towards Ifayemi Elebuibon Street, stopping at the very pole in front of the expansive residence of the Ifa priest. Four PHCN officials alighted from the vehicle. A group of residents, whose electricity cables had been disconnected some distance up the street, had followed the vehicle on foot. The leader of the team, a dark-skinned middle-aged man, opened a conversation with the restless residents.

Two men, who appeared to be the youngest in the PHCN team, brought down a brown, long wooden ladder hinged to the top of the pickup. As they were mounting the ladder against the pole, Elebuibon came out of his compound. He greeted them and asked what their mission was. The team leader told him that they were going to disconnect the cable supplying his house with electricity unless he produced a bill showing that he did not owe the PHCN. The babalawo told them that he was not indebted to the PHCN and added that it was not his place to produce any bill. He said the PHCN should have a record of those who had paid up their bills just as he stressed that he had never owed electricity tariff all his life. Some residents intervened and told the officials that the Araba never owed electricity bills.

Shunning all entreaties, one of the PHCN officials rebuffed the pleas and started to climb the long ladder. Residents yelled and told him not to climb the ladder, but he refused, climbing and grumbling. Elebuibon raised his hand, saying ‘E je o gun, to bati le bo’le’; meaning: let him climb the ladder if he would be able to climb down from it. One! Two! Three! Four!…the brave official climbed the ladder to the top. Suddenly, he stopped grumbling, became utterly silent, distant and hazy.

He couldn’t disconnect the cable, neither could he come down. Looking as cool as cucumber, he chewed gum slowly, absent-minded and remained at the top of the ladder, blinking and oblivious of the flood of pleas gushing on his behalf down below.

The other three PHCN officials at the foot of the ladder sweated and begged. Together with residents, they pleaded with Baba Elebuibon to set the young man free. Elebuibon yielded. ‘Arakunrin, ma bo nle (young man, come down),’ he simply said, snapping the detainee out of his forced reverie. The Ifa priest later told one of his children to go inside his house and bring the bill showing he had paid his electricity tariff. Elebuibon was able to resist the highhandedness earmarked for him by the PHCN, but do millions of Nigerians, whose businesses and well-being are tied to electricity supply, have the arcane power to such do?

The commonest testimony that governmental injustice and corruption freely and daily stalk our land unchallenged is the PHCN. Injustice and corruption aided, abetted and perpetrated by the government against the people. Or what better adjectives are there to qualify a government parastatal that collects citizens’ hard-earned money and yet refuses to provide the commodity for which they paid? Worse still, those that pay brazenly have their power supply cut if they were not around to show the almighty PHCN officials their bills.

[s] All the hate groups and hate merchants in
Nigeria have risen and spoken with one
voice, like they always do on any matter that
brings out their beastly nature of bigotry,
[/s]

against the declaration by government that
it has secured a radio frequency that will be
specifically used to broadcast in Fulfulde
language in order to educate and enlighten
the Fulani herdsmen or nomads on all
matters of citizenship and law and order.

[s] According to these hate groups and hate
merchants, setting up this radio frequency
to educate and enlighten the Fulani nomads
is evidence of what Obasanjo, the old rogue,
said about the ''Fulanization'' of this
country. In other words, government
shouldn't do anything at all to educate the
Fulani nomads or to even sensitize them on
the need to be law abiding, considering that
these very same hate groups and hate
merchants regard they Fulani as lawless
people.
It then begs the question: If the Fulani
nomads are seen as a problem by these
hate groups and hate merchants, then why
are they always against any legitimate
government plan to resettle or settle the
Fulani nomads in such ways that they will
no longer be a problem to them? For
example, at the last count, all these hate
groups and hate merchants rejected the
following ideas and plans by government to
keep the Fulani nomads in confined places
so that they don't just move endlessly from
place to place with their cattle, thereby
encroaching on farms which often lead to
(some of the) clashes with farmers:
1. They rejected cattle grazing routes for
Fulani nomads!
2. They rejected the establishment of cattle
grazing reserves for Fulani nomads which
was an alternative to grazing routes!
3. They rejected the establishment of cattle
colonies for Fulani nomads!
4. And now they are against the
establishment of a radio frequency to
broadcast news, messages and
enlightenment programmes for Fulani
nomads!
Oh, and before I forget, there used to be a
programme called Nomadic Primary
Education for Fulani nomads during the era
of military administrations, but as soon as
the military handed over to President
Obasanjo, the programme effectively died,
and little after that we started having this
regular violent problem between Fulani
nomads and farmers, which subsequently
turned out to be a franchise for all manner
of trouble brewers who will simply clothe
their armed men with Fulani attire to wreak
havoc in the name of Fulani!
Simply put, these hate groups and hate
merchants are not in any way interested in
solving any crisis between the Fulani
herdsmen and farmers, probably because
they want a continuation of the problem to
satisfy their propaganda purposes and to
feed their urges of hate, otherwise, there
just can't be any plausible reason why the
same set of people will always reject any
solution to what they regard as a problem,
or perhaps, the only urge they have that can
satisfy them is the complete destruction of
the Fulani, or what else? Didn't it happen in
Germany and in Rwanda and in Bosnia
Herzegovina?
If there is a problem and you are rejecting
solutions to the problem, then you definitely
are the problem.

Fulani radio to educate herdsmen, fishermen, farmers, hunters — NBC

Published

Tobi Aworinde

The National Broadcasting Commission has said the proposed Fulani radio station will broadcast “purely educational,” programmes designed to cater for the interest of itinerant fishermen, herders, hunters and farmers.

It also called on all broadcasting stations to exercise restraint in the treatment of sensitive issues that could threaten the unity and stability of Nigeria.

The commission, in response to criticism of the planned radio station by Federal Government to reach Fulani herdsmen, urged broadcasting stations to be professional and take guidance from the Nigeria Broadcasting Code, at all times.

The NBC, in a statement on Saturday, reminded all broadcasters to be mindful of their social responsibility to promote the well-being and peaceful co-existence of the various groups in Nigeria in keeping with the objectives of broadcasting in Nigeria.

It stated, “The commission is reacting to the media controversy over the license granted to the National Commission for Nomadic Education for the establishment of a radio station to operate on the AM band.

“The National Commission for Nomadic Education duly applied for broadcast license in furtherance of its objectives to develop and maintain nomadic education outreach programmes, including electronically mediated ones.

“The letter of provisional approval dated September 28, 2018, was issued to the National Commission for Nomadic Education. The duration of the license is from October 8, 2018 to October 8, 2023.”

The NBC noted that the station’s programmes, which it describes as “purely educational,” were designed to cater for the interest of migrant fishermen, herders, hunters, farmers, and migrants.

It added, “Consequently, it is a misrepresentation for any person or organisation to imply that the licensed station was just for a particular group.

“The commission wishes to state that similar educational broadcast licences were issued to institutions of higher learning and other governmental institutions with comparable needs, such as the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Federal Road safety Commission, and related institutions.

This is threat to media houses. NBC is telling them in code to suppress public rejection of the programme and that sounding public opinion is tantamount to causing disunity and stability. This is a "riot act" on treasonable offense. Since NBC is issuing threat in code, I wonder if they will also be educating fulani in code.

Fulanis obtained their education in Hausa....let them continue to do so. No need for a special broadcast station for them.

Intelligent thread from MetaPhysical as usual. I really wish i know your previous moniker, just to get the full train of thoughts.

The scenario you painted is vivid and very real. What mitigating measures would you suggest?

Unification of the South? (we all know how unlikely)
Ivar, Thanks for the compliment, I receive it!

We have two types of conflicts in Nigeria
1. Passive Conflict. Done via intellectual sparing and competition for domination of mainstream outlets.
Its attributes include elitism through media, academia, economic advantage, cultural righteousness and religious righteousness, stereotyping...and so on.

2. Active Conflict. Dispossession of equitable rights and competition for domination in the seat of political power.
Attributes include militancy, isolation, threat, sense of entitlement, statutory restrictions, boundaries, representation...and so on.

The two are packaged and used together to terrorize or to solicit, given the challenges and situation.

Let me first tell you about the North.
The North is afraid of so many things but they are also resolved that a mythical direct intervention from God is involved in their fate. They take interpretation direct from Quran and life of Prophet Muhammed to apply to the Nigerian State. They believe Muhammed is able to outstrip other cultures and religions preceeding him because of his faith in the Holy Scripture and in God. They also take lessons from the Arabs. Prior to Islam the Arabs were peaceful people. After Islam the sword (weapon of death and honor) became their corporate logo for creating a new social franchise. You will be a muslim or we will not value your life. Thus if you are not a muslim they first package you as kafir (an unbeliever) and rob you of your humanity through enslavement. With the Islamic order they established a new social heirarchy also. A muslim must not submit to a kafir....at work, in school, in politics, in military, in market....muslim must be the head. These creed became the set of education that a muslim child learns along with the Quran. It is believed that Arabia and UAE and all these places became what they are today because of the adherents of Arabs to these creeds. Northerners also believe that one poor man, an Islamic cleric, is able to topple and decimate multiple Hausa Kingdoms because of his belief in the creed. So they have the success of Arabs to instruct them on how to be successful, they also have the success of Usman Dan Fodio right here on ground to teach how to grow and rule society. Their next target is Nigeria. They believe the creed for ruthlessness, subjugation and domination of Kafirs pleases God and if they want Him to reward them with the oil and port commerce in Nigeria then they have the obligation to first bring all Nigerians under the rule of Islamic God. Those who refuse are Kafirs, their lives will not be valued. They believe Islam is why Middle East is prosperous for Muslims, and that the economy and trade is just a collateral reward. They believe if Islam is introduced to every corner of Nigeria this country will be great for the ones in the North favored by Allah.

There are many vulnerabilities in the North and even in their mindset about Jihad, however, the damages done by military regime is so deep that to undo it will require putting a block against a Northern ruler for about 20yrs while the South repair society and bring back equity stolen by men in uniform....until that is done the imbalance in power will continue to favor North and their vulnerabilities remain out of target.

There is much more on my mind to share in how the tension and fears could be managed but I usually reserve some thoughts to myself and leave them unspoken. grin

Could the pioneer Ooni of Ife be the same person as the one described below?

Akhenaten (/ˌækəˈnɑːtən/;[1] also spelled Echnaton,[7] Akhenaton,[8] Ikhnaton,[9] and Khuenaten;[10][11] meaning "Effective for Aten"wink, known before the fifth year of his reign as Amenhotep IV (sometimes given its Greek form, Amenophis IV, and meaning "Amun Is Satisfied"wink, was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty who ruled for 17 years and died perhaps in 1336 BC or 1334 BC. He is noted for abandoning traditional Egyptian polytheism and introducing worship centered on the Aten, which is sometimes described as monolatristic, henotheistic, or even quasi-monotheistic. An early inscription likens the Aten to the sun as compared to stars, and later official language avoids calling the Aten a god, giving the solar deity a status above mere gods.

Fulanis will risk it because the reward if they succeed is exceedingly great. I'll tell you the truth: they already know that they won't get away with all but are sure of securing more than they have at present. Also, the encroaching Sahara is contributing it's own pressure to the system. As for us, we must know what we want and go for it during the ensuing chaos. Our leaders must know history and politics well to ensure we are well off after the dust settles. No one should be appealed to for his or her own safety. If you're stupid at present, your fate would be doomed that time. It's a dog eat dog world now.
I'm a Christian like most of our people and we shudder at the thought off wielding weapons. Only two options are left to us; fight or flight. Flight is worst of the two. Flight renders you stateless and with the current resurgence of national pride all over the world, we would be at the mercy of many countries. Just imagine the shame and ridicule that would bring. Xenophobia will be in full force. Israel understands this better than everyone. They've been there before. So, we're left with only fighting. Nwanna, buckle your belt and discipline yourself. Very intelligent response. You should be in a war room formulating strategy with policymakers.

I am deeply grateful for your response, I will even stretch it further and say you hit a major security issue for Sahara, Sahel and Central African region.

The very first salvo from Buhari after his inauguration in 2015 was to ask about progress report on the World Bank funded feasibility study for Lake Chad Basin Commission.

Lake Chad is very strategic to North. grin

Lake Chad is fresh water and over the years have shrunk in size from what it used to be mainly due to climatic changes.

As a military man Buhari understands what security asset is and he identifies strategically with the security of Lake Chad because the place has all the characteristics and features of an oil basin. No other Nigerian leader has been as tenured and involved in all facets of NNPC and its upstream/downstream offshoots as Buhari has been. When this man dies his ghost will hang around NNPC. In his next administration expect the Minister of Oil to be from NE or someone vested in oil security in the North, and also expect that a sizeable amount of money is going to be wasted exploring oil security for North.

There is a great pressure from North of Northern Nigeria. The people of Niger (Tuaregs) are already moving southward and are as far South as Lagos, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Warri and so on. Nowadays jeans and tee shirt has become an urban uniform, a Tuareg in jeans and tee shirt is not differentiable from a Southerner in jeans and tee shirt. Moreover you cant ask them not to come here, the West African Common Community under the ECOWAS passport gives freedom of movement and residence to anyone in member state to live and work and trade anywhere in the region.

The resources are shrinking and the world is expanding and evolving very fast.

We have never had a catastrophy from earthquake, sea storm, volcano eruption, and so forth....but we are prone nonetheless to dry weather. A catastrophic dry weather will impact Chad Basin and could result in similarities with the famine in Ethiopia in the 80s. Dry weather in Niger could result in banditry and crime as pressure mount on Tuaregs to find survival in Nigeria. grin

Migration from Sahara and Sahel to the grassland and forest in South will create human tragedies....pressure from population densities, competition for scarce resource, culture clash, struggle for domination and power, imposition of foreign culture and strange habits and lifestyle, and so on....

A mistake was committed in the amlgamation of Nigeria...but a worse mistake was committed in the amalgamation of West Africa.

The North has tested us in the South many times and found us complacent. We never mount pressure on North the way they put pressure on South.

No Southern militant group ever crosses into North region and wipe out a village or raype communities. So they know we respect the boundaries of North and will not dream of crossing into it to cause bloodshed. They also know when they disrespect our boundaries and cross down here to raype and wipe out our villages we lack resolve to exact consequence and make them regret the action.

So the direction of force and terror and domination will continue to be North to South until they succeed in acquiring our land. Where they fail to acquire land they want to uproot our culture and replace it with a version of Islam that reports to Sokoto.

So we will either allow them access to grazing land or they will acquire it by force of terror. Either way, the ultimate outcome is to colonize and impose Sharia.

The entire Lake Chad basin is already under the control of Sharia advocates - bokoharam.

Now Zamfara, Kebbi, Kaduna, Abuja, Benue, Nassarawa, Adamawa, Niger, Kogi, Gombe are all occupied by bandits and kidnappers. They have succeeded in incapacitating our police force. Police is no longer able to deploy and bring them down. Even our Army are no match for them. We are now using Air Force. If our Army cannot protect itself from their assault what time and capacity do they have to protect citizens? So the bandits will attempt to sack the government of Nigeria. If they succeed they will ultimately take over the entire nation.

Why won't they do their jobs and investigate you when you openly display your riches for scrutiny.

It's their job to investigate how you came about your possessions that some people here on Nairaland would refer to as vanity.

They have to know if you are scanning the State or not, if you are involved in illegal activities or not. Does your yearly income afford you all these possessions?

While EFCC are on it, don't be surprised that the FIRS is also looking into your taxes as far back as they can. Why? Because it's their freaking job.

The era of questionable characters publicly displaying questionable riches for all to see without the alphabet boys asking questions should begin to come to an end and that's that.

I don't know why America allow their citizens to consume some weird products
America does not allow citizens to consume weird products. America has laws.

One of them says a citizen has "inalienable" rights to live free and enjoy liberty. Inalienable being the key word!

Another one says certain substances are banned (controlled) from use or consumption and if one is caught in posession of, or after applying an administered test is discovered to be under influence of a controlled substance then an act of violation of the law has occurred. This is called policing.

The two laws above support one another. There is nothing in a citizen's "inalienable" rights to freedom and liberty that says he/she cannot be policed!

So America assumes everything is right with its citizens, anything else is a violation of "inalienable" rights......so it puts laws in place to police against self-destruction through use and consumption of controlled substances.

Their laws are often times illogical and counter-intuitive but effective in keeping order in society. Most laws are counterweights to the contracts in the US Declaration of Rights.

For instance, if a person shoots himself in an act of suicide but survives the blow, he could be prosecuted and end up in prison after recovery. In fact he could be sued by others with "inalienable" rights.

grin grin. Watch some of their tv series on crime and law you will be well entertained....or if you live in America enroll with the LG (County) to serve on jury duties. You will see the naykedness of American society.

I totally understand and in a way it’s human anyone can fall into such patterns bt it’s not professional, morally sound or business Savy. One just needs to take the necessary precautions against following negative trends. If u “must” have smtn with ur co whatever fine bt separate it and don’t make it a pattern. It’s about responsibility.
......and trust me, there are upright and responsible people in entertainment. They do business with no strings attached, men and women. My comment is about "some", not all.....those "preoccupied" with the thought of accessible sex! Their recklessness get out of hand and eventually become their burden and public shame.....like it is now with Ubi.

We have not heard his side. Until we do im not going to beat him down. This lady also appear to have moral issues.

1. Never loan a man with income money to care for his children...never! A man with job must sacrifice and make provisions so his child and mother can eat. If the child needs 15000 a month give 30000 or 35000 and spoil the mother along.

2. Never lay in a bed with a man who has income and comes to you for loan...not to expand business or pay staff salary....but to feed his child! Red Flag! An irresponsible father!! Why risk having such man pour sperm in your toto? grin

3. If you lay with an irresponsible and delinquent father and he poured in you, there are products in market to deactivate the sperm within 24hrs after their delivery into your body....get it and waste them!

4. A woman that is smart enough to draw contracts and have them signed with witnesses but not smart to see my three points above is not deceiving me....she has ulterior motives in the contract and her pregnancy for her debtor is not ordinary, she has her eyes on something.

Gullible ladies everywhere...Thank GOD for my nature else person for make dem see shege.

They will see good guys but will choose to be with a scammer and will later be crying....This is why i don't ever pity any lady who falls victim to these gigolos.
I catch from your comment that you expect to be rewarded with a beautiful girl for your acts of forthrightness.

Let me say this, if i present you with two beautiful girls, one in makeup and fake hair, fake nails, with packings in bra to give volume to her chest....and another one with no make up, natural hair, no fake nails or bra paddings.....im sure the gyal in fake appearance will appeal to you quicker and you will see her as an ideal mate for you. Girls do same with guys....certain things pull them in, and its not your forthrightness. Find what that thing is and let it become the equivalent of fake hair, nails and brea3t. Its not your job to display forthrightness to girls. Its their duty to discover it in you.......after you've been there done it couple of times. Shey you get? grin

Just so you know...Girls in natural appearance also complain about guys seeing good and natural beauty and they abandon it for fake image.
