I do not support outright ban of police check points. Despite its shortfalls, it is still useful and needful in a country like ours where crime rate is not only high but on the increase. The concept is not bad but how it is carried out. Our Police Force is in a sorry state (that we all know) and the only thing a responsible government should do is to declare a STATE OF EMERGENCY to remedy the situation. Obviously, the masses have lost confidence in these WORKERS OF INIQUITY. The situation in Lagos seems to be out of control presently, as there are virtually police check points at every 1-kilometer at night, whose occupations are to extort money from commercial vehicle operators ONLY. They do not care about private vehicles. When they do, it ends up in molestation of the occupants. On occasions I had cause to move at night, I have never been checked/searched by these EVIL MEN ON BLACK. All that residents of Lagos State need is the immediate intervention of the governor, BRF. Needless to add that they are responsible for majority of vehicular traffic at night too. |
This is typical of the Western Media; they never see anything good in Nigeria. Tom McCoy should be lectured to know that over 99% Nigerians are not internet fraudsters. Having said that, our government should step up its fight against 419. For goodness sake, these guys are not spirits, they live amongst us. Just that our law enforcements have refused to work. I am tempted to think that a Nigerian official who might have been frustrated by our sports system may have written or better-still contributed to the Foxsports article. |
ehala:It is "Obosi na ajoo uzo!" meaning Obosi (a town in Anambra State) and bad road! The man is really funny. |
Why on earth would someone create a thread like this? The poster should compare herself or his girlfriend and sisters with the duo first and foremost before anything else. Let's be careful so as not to invoke God's wrath upon ourselves. Enough said. |
Our Council of Elders called Super Eagles are all tired! Haruna and Anichebe were slightly mobile due to age advantage over other Papa Eagles; they did not fare better afterall. Mind you, we just played Saudi Arabia! What will happen against Argentina etc? I don talk am, make we go beg Maradona and his boys to take am easy with us. They should pity us after the 3rd goal. |
Mr Lagerback is saying what his employers at the Glass House, and indeed many Nigerians want to hear. Let's wait and see if our dear Coach will return to Nigeria after the world cup. I can't stop imagining how Nigerian defence line will fare against the onslaught of MESSI, AGUERO, MILITO, DI MARIA and TEVEZ. Chineke, mere umu gi ebere (Jehovah, have mercy on your children)! ![]() Without further delay, I suggest NFF should send her "wise men" TO BEG ARGENTINA to take it easy with us in South Africa, IF NOT , (just joking)! On a more serious note, I do not see our team beating Argentina or even picking up a draw. I am only praying and fasting for a BEARABLE SCORELINE. |
@poster You are not really making sense to me! Whose interest are you protecting? See how your stupidity will take many lives to their early grave - the HIV-positive lady, the lover man, his wife/children. Like someone pointed out, you came on Nairaland to seek advice. Popular opinion is that you should tell the man, yet you remain unbending. I hereby call on the moderator to delete this thread for flagrant neglect of good judgment. |
Igbo ndim ji eme onu, kelee nu! Igbo si na: obahu uru iju oke-okuko (i.e. okokpa) ebe ohiri (olalu) ula, ihe ka mkpa bu ma olotarakwara? Let me start by saying that I AM FROM MBAITOLI LGA. Coincidentally, my community goes by the name EZIAMA OBIATO. It is NOT in any way related with EZIAMA ORODO. My community and Orodo are among the nine communities that made up MBAITOLI. Both are not far from each other; just separated by Afara Community. Meanwhile there are several towns, villages, communities, etc that go by the name EZIAMA, that are not OSU but may have few families that are , Having said that, I have to say that Osu Caste System is still prevalent in most part of Igbo land especially Imo State. Whoever thinks otherwise is ignorant or betterstill has lost touch. I really sympatise with these people and wish the nonsense can be abolished so soon. Making legislations over the issue, openly condemning it, and such can only do a little. Since many believe it is a spiritual problem, let's think of solving it divinely. |
, Provided her husband accompanies her. I won't be surprise if Oge said so. For Christ sake, what will a married woman be looking for in such a 'Godless' environment? |
KunleOshob:Yes, you are correct to say that 100% Tithes are remitted to the Headquarters. What you do not know is that 20% - 30% of total tithe usually go back to the Parishes as REBATE, while the Province keeps 20%. If the Rebate does not get to the Parish for whatever reason, then the Provincial and/or Area Headquarters should be held accountable. konfessor:The Ministry is over 55 years old already, so tell me, when will "the truth" (you are longing for) be revealed? What will 'the Truth" be? 5 Million members will definitely not be wrong! Wake up people! |
I am surprised that people are condemning Genny for allegedly dating D'banj. WHY CHASE A DOG AWAY FROM FAECES (shit), WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T EAT IT? How many guys of D'banj (financial) status will have the guts to propose marriage to a person like Genny? Abi, una no wan make she marry? I am only praying that it will not end up like that of 9ICE AND PAYNE. It has been said often that CELEBRITY MARRIAGES NEVER WORK. Only time will tell! IGWE D'banj, abeg carry go! |
"Whosoever does not want to MARRY A WIDOW should DESIST from visiting her regularly at NIGHT" - the words of our Elders. Frolicking with a widow is a very dangerous game. It's comparable to kissing a life snake without a protective mask. Many guys who got ensnared with widows actually started like this. Widows are experts in turning promising men (like you) into a dunce (dundee) whereby you will transform from a lover to her personal laundry man, cook, 'UNCLE' to her children, etc. She is all out to GET you, MILK you dry, and DISCARD you. Don't ever think you are her first victim? There is fire on the mountain - RUN! RUN!! RUN!!! Make her believe you are very religious by discussing religious issues with her more often. Don't let her intimidate you. Think of other points made by other N'landers too. Peace! |
@poster You should know the answer now! Igbo girls marry late because they want to avoid making the same mistakes your mother made. Mistake No 1: Getting married to up to 7 Husbands before she attains age 50! Mistake No 2: Avoid getting married to an irresponsible husband like , Mistake No 3: Having a useless tribalist like you for a son. NB: I took time to go through your previous posts. You are used to asking USELESS QUESTIONS. My grandmother has a name for your type: COMPOUND FOOL! |
Creating CORRECT BOUQUET will definitely not improve your market. What happened to CLASSIC BOUQUET that was introduced earlier which had all except sports channels at N3,500? Obviously, the strategy failed! HITV will never assume market leadership as far as PayTV is concerned in Nigeria unless they adopt the simple marketing strategy of charge less subscription and get more patronage (of course, LESS IS MORE). What does HITV has that other PAYTV don't? NOTHING! Are all subscribers EPL fans? NO! They should always bear it in mind that Nigerians have been exposed to quality PayTV channels, therefore anything less will be unacceptable. HITV should swallow their pride and reduce their charge accordingly. N4,500 for Premium Bouquet will make a whole lot of sense! |
IMO, there is no basis for comparison between (the World-famous) Dr Alban and DBanj (at least, in the meantime). All I am saying: both men are not in the same pedestal musically. Evidences that we all can see, say so. Besides, Dr Alban makes sense to me lyrically than the Koko Master. |
Igbo KWENU! Igbo Mamma nu!! Igbo Biri nu!!! Abatakwalam ozo na ogbakoro anyi a. Anam asi, ya diri onye ihu mma, dikwara onye azu mma. GTay:I wonder why he is not performing this year. Meanwhile, BUCHI should be one of the performing artists. He is awesome on stage! |
Justin@kd:You are talking NONSENSE! Its either you are not a subscriber on HITV or you are a front. Besides, your one (1) post status suggest so! Are you advising us to support "what is truly Nigeria" for the sake of it? At whose expense will this be? You need to be lectured to know that HITV as well as other PayTV operators are in business. Subscribers cough out their hard-earned N6,000/monthly to get QUALITY entertainment (of which HITV has failed to provide). If indeed you are patriotic as you make us to believe, prevail on their management to improve on their services. Shikena! |
First it was the scandal of upgrading SD to HD equipment at the cost of N8 Billion of which South Africa bought a brand new HD at a lesser cost (Meanwhile, the equipment were not used eventually). The age-scandal rocking the Golden Eaglets presently is yet to die down and now this. I ask, when will scandal cease in this country? Me think, tournaments of this magnitude generate profit for the host nation. I won't be surprise if LOC declares loss at the end of the day. AIT should employ all strategy at their disposal to get paid, even if it means not showing the closing ceremony. After all, this is business! Enough of square pegs in round holes in this country. |
Oh, Never Agaaaaiinnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, how come? Why did DSTV allow this? May we know HITV 7-POINT AGENDA within the next 4 years. OR is it going to be another 4 years of YARADUALISTIC style of leadership (so so talk, no action)? Somebody Heelllppppppp!!!!!!!!!! |
"Animal talk don start again!" (Apology to Baba 70). Why is he regretting? One Nigeria we want, one Nigeria we shall all have! Phew!! NONSENSE!!! We all know that the military of which Lt-Gen Akinrinade is a product of, messed up this lifeless entity called Nigeria. |
Brother Timothy Ibe agaaaaainnnnnn!!!!!!!!! This lousy brat should learn to shut his mouth up after the unfulfilled 'beer-parlour' prophecies preceding last FIFA World Cup in Germany. Whether na him prophecy self make God vex that time? I don't blame him, rather the jobless journalists that still give him attention. |
I am surprised that many of us have resorted to calling Ghana all kinds of names for making an economic policy that is not favourable to our compatriots doing business over there. Well, I must say that this might turn out to be a blessing in disguise. How? If these Nigerians and other foreign investors in Ghana are forced to leave, they may definitely come to Nigeria; if only there can be a meaningful improvement in power supply. Moreover, the return of these investors will increase the pressure on the PRAYER-BOY's government to perform. |
@ALL HITV has really made Champions League matches uninteresting - poor audio quality, inept analyses, inability to transmit most matches live, etc. Who then will bail the cat? I am tired of NONSENSE! I just can't understand how HITV is winning every right to live matches. I am beginning to think that Toyin Subair is fronting for someone; one of these 'national treasury looters'. I wish they loose EPL right to DSTV. |
This reminds of a saying in Yoruba: Ina njo, ogiri ko sa. (Fire is blazing, wall will never run away) ![]() Igbos call it: Ala-agba-oso (Earth never run away). Able Comrade, I hail thee!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Apology NOT ACCEPTED! A bad workman always querrels with his tools! Why blame Kanu? Useless coach and his employer - NFF. May they NEVER Rest in Peace (Amen)! |
The same idiots who chase us all over places begging for our votes during electioneering campaign would turn around and slap a voter for not recognizing him. Abuja VIPs (Vagabonds In Power)! What else do you expect? Please don't tell me that the poor Operative did not retaliate. After all, action and reaction are equal but opposite. If you do me, I do you, man no go vex. |
