But my point is, the scriptures you used for such reference of power isn't what is being taught in that very scriptures. There are other scriptures who evidently outline God's power working through men, but 1 Cor 2 teaching is not one of them. 1 Cor 2 when read properly and in context is speaking about the preaching of the gospel as God's power to save, and God's wisdom to confound the wise. Read together with chapter 1.


1 Cor 2:13 is pivotal to the chapter.

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

So, the focus of 1 Cor 2:4 is rightly to be interpreted as in the preaching of the gospel we see the demonstration of Spirit power, which is the gospel of faith in men.

Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;

Now I do not dispute the fact that it was the word of God that he preached. I'm simply letting you know that the word was backed by the Power of the Holyspirit confirming the word in supernatural manifestations viz healings, conversions, speaking in tongues with interpretations, etc.

Does the bible record that Jesus and the Apostles had followers and converts through display of signs and wonders or not?

If it were only for salvation then even the Quran and other holy books have produced salvation/conversion.

Paul referred to the power of God as preaching the gospel, not power as in displaying power. It is the preaching of the gospel, that Paul called power and wisdom of God.

The gospel, when preached has inherent ability (power) to cause change (save) in man, and change him forever. That's power in itself.

Thats the context of all he wrote in 1 Cor 2 when read together.

If you Conciously do this , you are Born again. You are Saved. You need to begin to Grow yourself in Christ.

Once you are Saved, Old and sinful ways of living becomes past. You begin to live in the newsness of Christ and in obedience to His Word.
Remember to repent from any sin you fall into even after your salvation.

After doing all this and not paying tithes, you can still end up in hell?

But what then does it mean to "believe in Him"?

So to "believe in Him" means to keep His Word, therefore for anyone to be saved, he must needs keep the Word of God.

That the same thing Jesus told a rich man who asked Him the same question.

Matthew 19:16-17 (KJV)

And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

So just as Jesus said to the rich young man, anyone who wants to be saved or to have eternal life must keep God's Word. Anyone who doesn't keep the Word of God cannot be saved because that means the person doesn't believe in Him.

Man lost his eternal life in the beginning by disobedience of God's Word, so to regain it and become saved, man must needs obey God's Word which is Jesus Christ, whom God gave to the world, so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

No, Matthew 24:44 has not yet been fulfilled, but when it is at the end of the age (which is inevitable) because GOD has declared it - everyone will know then! (The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins - Matthew 25:1-13)

There are alot of things to unpack from Matthew 24&25. There is also a notable difference between presence mentioned at Matthew 24:3 and coming mentioned at Matthew 24:30,44.
Since the KJV mistook presence for coming, it has led to a lot of problems for most persons to gain understanding.
