This is what I was trying to emphasize. The online route has its in-built algorithm that ensures all necessary details as it pertains to each application is what is required. We complicate our application and makes it take a much longer while than necessary to process since the VO needs look through the many things we provide in reaching his/her decision.
This is not always true and no one can say for sure if the number of documents submitted has any effect on processing times or whether it complicates things for applicants. Every application is unique.

For example, an applicant that has been delayed and got his/her GCMS note, he/she may want to address issues raised in the GCMS. Such an applicant can choose to go via paper route and then include more documents. I do not think it complicates things. I have also seen first time applicants on this forum via paper route with plenty documents get approval within 5 weeks (Last year, I got passport request within 5 weeks of applying via paper route and I included lot of unnecessary documents).

Canada student visa is one i will say is simply grace. If anyone is fortunate to have gotten a student visa, just thank God. There is no one size fits all.

Thanks so much boss for your response. My mum and my brother was at her office yesterday and she was crying and begging that there was fraud on her account at the bank. I personally do not belive her stories because I can sight a lot of discrepancies in her previous text and calls. She has only remitted 500,000 out of the 4.4million sent to her(she’s claiming the bank has put her account on hold due to the fraud issue). We intend taking further actions.
Ok boss, all the best.

Why people still use agent to process application is confusing to me. What most of these agents do is simply submit an application for you based on experiences of other candidates. These experiences can be gotten on this forum for free. So why use agents? Most of these agents come to this forum to learn and what they learn here is what they sell to you.

Most of these agents you all go to pay money all started on this forum (they were groomed here). They combined peoples experiences and information they got on here to start their business. Please stay woke. Is it not funny you will end up paying above 200k for an application and your visa is still not guaranteed? So why pay so much for what you can get for free here?

Please and please, If you have work experience, just go via PR route (it makes life so easy for you). There are so many hurdles to cross when applying for Study permit. You need to convince the Visa officer you will come back on the completion of your program, you need to show travel history (in some cases), Pay huge fees for study and then show money for maintenance.

The major challenge with PR is doing well in IELTS and it is not that hard. You don't have to prove home ties because they know you are going permanently, you don't have to pay huge fees for education (once you get PR, you will go to school for a small fee), the visa process is almost same time with study permit, You will school and work without restrictions and in most cases, you don't even need to show so much money in your SOA unlike TRV above.

It is well.

My brother got admission in to Fanshawe College in Ontario for PGD via a travelling Agent and all payment for school fees was made via the Agent. He was denied visa early last year and he deferred his admission till September. He later had to defer his admission again till January because he didn’t get a response from the embassy about his visa application. Unfortunately he got denied late November and we’ve been on her neck for the refund of school fees till now.
Yesterday she’s told us she has gotten an alert of 2.8mllion for the refund while we paid a total of 4.3million to her. I have tried checking the college refund policy and I still don’t understand why the money is been reduced from her end. Pls has any one have such encounter with Fanshawe College before and how about there refund policy because we feel she’s scamming us due to the 4months it took her to get back to us.
Please bro, I had to go back and check your initial post. Please escalate this issue, tell the agent you will get her arrested and make sure you report to the school (please check the contact I gave you above). How can an agent deduct about 1.5M naira after visa refusal? The reason why you must punish this agent is to prevent her from doing such to other applicants.

I am sure schools like Fanshawe pay these agents, so why is she greedy? I would be so happy to hear the agent is in jail in your next post.

okay thanks so much.
So I just asked someone in the international department and she said, if your visa is denied/delayed, you will get all of your fees back minus 250CAD.

If your visa is approved and you decide not to come, 2300CAD is deducted from the fees paid.

Your agent is definitely trying to play a fast one on you. For further enquiries, contact the person below.

Very good!

You said you are there on a One yearVisa!
You said there are more Nigerians in Ur school than in another school? ( RCCG church isnt a Meeting point for Nigerians Schooling, there are catholic churches and the many more around).

When an analysis is made , it doesn't kill the point it tries to dissect, rather it gives you an in depth knowledge of it entirety!

I repeat, College reduces your chance of a VISA, (I saw something like a "1 Year Visa", You didnt give reasons why it should even be like that, or does being College also make you a 1 Year Visa Type unlike the University guys who get till expiration?)

If you can get admission to a MSC, Please do,... if you can't, then Be ready to work harder in your application with a College!!!
Hello Sir, I think I have told you this before, stop giving out your opinion as facts. If you will come on a public forum and say FACTS and even include percentage, back it up with proofs.

Whenever you analyse issues based on your opinion, do not call them facts on a public forum with millions reading.

I will go to the international office and ask them about their return policy. Please mention the name of your program, how much did you pay in CAD and will ask them about their return policy for Nigerians. If the agent defrauded you, I can tell you he will be removed from FANSHAWE system and further actions will be taken.

Whatever the office says, I will let you know here and probably ask for their contact so you can reach them directly.

Is Any Visa Assured even with the best documents and comportment?

But it can be said that you chances are high with ur situation and documents?

Using College reduces any chance if you have at all.

so if you have a 75% Chance, College reduces it by 10%.

I did not say College isnt good, but it dents you when it was meant to upgrade you application.

I will quickly point out here in my sarcastic way, the desperate way we want to travel out of this by falling into all sort of troubles.

I have someone on my neck right now hell bent on college...

I gave my simple advice, "college is 10% Visa Assurance! They insisted we try, and the college policy is that they pay 10,000 Dollars for admission letter!
I advised against it but they insisted.

Let us be careful and slow to act.
Hello sir, I am open to learning. How did you come about your percentage? Please tell me how college reduces your chances of visa approval.

With all due respect sir, there are more Nigerians in Fanshawe college than in Western university of Ontario (both schools in London, you can check school websites to confirm). I am not telling you what I heard or read online, neither is this beer parlour gossip. I am telling you what I am presently experiencing at the moment. In my program, Logistics and supply chain management, we have 4 Nigerians in my class. The RCCG church in London Ontario (the largest and only RCCG church for blacks in London is filled with lots of Fanshawe students). You know the funny thing, we all are on 1 year visa and I am the only one that applied from London, UK, others were from Nigeria. I see so many blacks from other programs every day in school.

Before you put out figures, make sure you have proofs to back them up.

Greetings to everyone!
Thanks for your great work here.
Please I would like to migrate to Canada through the federal skilled workers program. Also, i was denied visa twice at the US embassy last year 2018: though I deferred my admission to fall 2019 to give it a final shot. My sponsor recently suggested that I should try Canada either for studies or their skilled migration program. I had a cgpa of 2.05/5.00 Nigeria and the in US equivalent of 2.70 WES evaluation(ICAP course by course evaluation), and a GRE score of 279, AW 3.0 respectively. Please guys do you think my score can get me admission for M.Eng program in a Canadian university? or do you advice I go for the skilled migration workers program? I started reading this thread today but I sincerely need to be guided on which part is better for me based on my profile. And hope my US visa denial won't affect my chances in either path?
Please help a brother so that I will know what to tell my sponsor.
Thanks in anticipation for your favorable response(s).
Can you get Masters admission with your CGPA in Canada, I doubt it but NOT impossible (nothing is impossible). You should try colleges.

Should you apply via the federal skilled workers program? If you have what it takes, why not?

Your USA Visa delay does not affect your Canada application if;

(1) When asked in your application, you tell the truth and don't hide anything
(2) You were not banned
(3) You were not denied based on criminal activities.

P.S if you fit into the skilled workers migration program, you should go for that.

Hello everyone, if my masters program is fully funded by the school,
1) how much does my sponsor need to have in his account?
2) must he transfer it into my account?
3) must he have the same surname as me?
4) as anyone seen an orpharn applied for study permit and given one?

Thank you so much in anticipation for taking time to answer my questions.
God bless
Does your fully funded scholarship include stipends that covers your living expenses as well? If YES, let your sponsor transfer money to cover flight tickets and extra expenses into your account plus submit his own SOA to show he is financially stable to cover you should incase anything happens (e.g if stipends are withdrawn) while in Canada. Good inflow and outflow and proof of his source of income (business man or salary earner)

If NO, read below

(1) Let your sponsor transfer your 1 year upkeep money into your account or submit an account in your sponsors name with an amount that can easily take care of your expenses for at least 1 year while in Canada.

Please if you would be using your sponsors SOA, make sure it has more than the required amount and he states clearly in his sponsorship letter how much of the money in his SOA he is giving you for maintenance.

For emphasis, you cannot submit your sponsor's SOA with 10,000CAD and then he says he is giving you everything for maintenance while in Canada. What will he use for his own family? So make sure any money in your sponsors SOA is much more than the money that is required for your upkeep and he states it clearly how much of the amount in his SOA is for you. Reason why I said it is better he transfers it into your account if he can.

Some provinces need at least 10,000CAD while others maybe about 12,000 CAD (I am not sure). Please see first page of this thread or do your research on CIC website to know how much is required of you as maintenance funds for 1 year.

(2) If the sponsor is not a family member, i will recommend he/she transfers the money to your account and he writes a lettter explaining why he has decided to sponsor you. If the sponsor cannot transfer the money to your account, not to worry, let him do as I have advised above.

(3) He does not need to have the same surname but let him give a good reason why he has decided to sponsor you in a letter, submit his SOA, International passport, proof of source of income and so forth.

(4) Foret about looking for any orphan that has or has not gotten a visa and get all the required documents and apply.

P.S Your sponsor can write in his letter, he has decided to sponsor you because he made a promise to your parents while they were alive to give you the highest level of education .......Let the letter be emotional. Turn your supposed weakness to strenght.

I greet the Gurus in the house. I most confess that your insights, advice and guidance as been very helpful as i have gained alot reading through the thread from part 9. lets keep the good work going.

Please i am currently in some kind of dilema and will like the experienced people in the house to come to my resecue.

I graduated 7years ago with a Bsc in geology with 2:2 class of degree. Since then i have worked in 2 banks in Nigeria with a reasonable salary. i intend to build a career in line of my educational background. I have applied for a post graduate diploma in GIS (geographic information system) and i have gotten admission in one of the colleges in canada. Now the reason for the confusion;

1. Based on what i have read here about SOP, i am skeptical if i can convince the VO about the correlation of what i studied and what i have been doing since graduation and what i intend to study (Althought my UG degree of geology is closely related to the GIS i wa offered). Some advised me to remove anything that has to do with banking from my resume and juat claim i have been working with some geo_firms.

2. Although i am in my early 30s i am married with 2 kids. I was told it doesnt make any sense for me to use a sponsor for my studies considering my marital status and work experience. that the VO will expect that i should be a self sponsor. How true is this? cos truth be told, it will be very difficult for me to build my account to such amount before submitting application. i can get a sponsor with good account.

3. i am legally married, have 2 kids, Have a good job at the m moment, have a land in lagos...will these amount to enough ties to Nigeria in convincing VO.

I will appreciate your advice so i can take a well inform decision on how to package my application.
(1) The logical thing should be continuing along the banking career as a student (easy to explain and saves you the stress of justifying why you are going back to something you abandoned seven years ago). If you go via the geology route, how do you convince the VO after seven years of been away from school? I am not saying it is impossible, I am just saying it will be harder to convince the VO.

(2) Use your own account since you have been working for close to seven years and then use your wife's account or family members account as a support account. There is nothing wrong in using two accounts. I know someone who is married with kids, used his own account plus uncles account and got his visa .

(3) Yes your wife, kids, land are strong ties.

Bro you should be applying via PR route (your age seems ok). When you get your PR, the government will even give your kids money. Don't waste money trying to study as an international student. Your profile is good to go.

Please don't get me wrong, i am a bit confused here.

How about we all pretend that we don't know anything and keep shut?

I just saw where someone whose Visa is pending explaining to another person whose Visa is pending on how to fast track the whole thing!

The truth is , Canada wont Reject you application if you are very sincere, 85% of Nigerians applying are not sincere with their applications.

Apply as you are, This people work with Nigerians as their consultants, Keep submitting lies and expecting Visa.
This is very wrong bro. Most people who are in Canada studying hardly have time to comment on this thread once they step foot in Canada because education here is very demanding (I schooled previously in UK and I know what I am talking about). I am in Canada today because of the grace of God and the information people like Frank and Jnyuwa dropped freely on this forum (I am eternally grateful to these two).

Some of the information people like Auctacus, O42viber12, Makano have dropped on here, I don't even know half. We all are learning and anyone can contribute to the thread.

Someone who applied and got his visa within 4 weeks may likely not know as much as someone who was refused visa or had to wait almost 7 months for his or her own visa. Let us be guided.

(1) I don't know the bank with the best rate because I am not in Nigeria at the moment.

(2) Nothing will be a red flag once you can attach documents of what you have been doing. For everything you mention in your letter, can you show proofs?

(3) Yes your Uncle can stand in as sponsor. Let him give you copies of his international passport, SOA, proof of business registration and he should write a letter of sponsorship on WHY he is sponsoring you to study in Canada. The story must be reasonable and convincing.

(4) Let your uncle make the tuition payment from his account.

(5) Yes affidavit will cover that.

To get a list of documents you need for your visa application is quite easy. Start from page 234, look for 3 people that recently shared their approval stories plus the list of all their documents and write out all the documents they submitted. When you are done comparing, you will have a list of everything you need.

Then you need prayers. God be with you bro.

I disagree with you on that note;because I have a friend who got approved with a BSC and he went for a diploma in Welding;he studied physics.
So what do you have to say about that ?
It is generally recommended that there is a career progression IF you are applying from Nigeria. However, there would always be exceptions due to context, Grace (for the religious folks), applicant's LOE or discretion of the VO.

Once you step foot in Canada, you don't need to worry about Career progression. You can do two 1 year programs (same level) and once you are done, you apply for PGWP.

P.S This is for all students coming to Canada. As a student you are allowed to work ON and OFF campus

OFF Campus = Max of 20 hours (some companies give you about 22 hours, depends on the shift)

ON Campus = Unlimited hours, although getting campus jobs could be challenging.

This means you can work more than 20 hours as a student if you can get ON campus job that does not clash with your time table while doing off campus jobs.

Greetings to you all.

I am a bit confused about program's credentials.

Is PGD same as Graduate Diploma and PGC, Graduate Certificate?

Why i asked is because i keep seeing the following on various college's website

OCC: (Ontario College Certificate)
OCD: (Ontario College Diploma)
OCAD: (Ontario College Advanced Diploma)
OCGD: (Ontario College Graduate Diploma)
OCGC: (Ontario College Graduate Certificate)

Thanks.
From my understanding, you can only do Post Graduate diplomas and graduate certificates when you are done with your bachelors degree. In Ontario, most Graduate diplomas are 2 years, some may even include C0-OP and PGC is usually 8 months. It all depends on your program and what you aim to achieve then you can know which program to go for.

OCC, OCD are lower to PGC and PGD and are just certifications offered by colleges on some courses.

Ok, if 5million naira its paid into my acc immediately
let's say by my sponsor won't it raise doubts since its a bulk money, since my inflow of cash isn't much within d 6months
My opinion, you can decide to send 5M to your acccount at once. All you need to do is explain clearly who sent the money to you and why (Attach your SOA and the SOA with which your sponsor used to send the money. This shows proof the money came from your sponsor).

When I applied last year, over 9M was sent to my account within 2 weeks. I used some of the money to get admission, sort out application and paid almost 2.5M to make deposit to my school and was left with about 6M when I applied. I used that same account for my TRV application (Attached my mothers business SOA as support document because the money came from that account and to show she has a business with good cash flow and CAC certificate).

What you need to do is explain the source. Make sure your explanation makes sense to even a dunce. Always, Always, Always assume the Visa officer knows nothing. You can make a table detailing the date the money left your sponsors account and the day it reflected in your account.

After explaining who transferred the money, attach proofs such as letter of employment, SOA of the sponsor and so forth. If the sponsor does not bear same surname, put a diagram explaining how he relates to you (family tree). Finally, WHY has he/she decided to sponsor you? Make sure you give a very good reason.
