Chee59:There are good girls all over the country who are contented with the little they have. Many are married supporting their husbands in the little way they can. If you choose to play the whóre it's your choice, don't blame it on anyone. Today we have female MDs of banks, female VC of universities, Female Senators and reps members...etc. if you're hardworking there's always a reward for you. But you must learn contentment. If you can't afford an iPhone, there are cheaper Android phones that would serve you well, if you can't afford expensive clothes, go to yaba railway, girls go there to pick cheap clothes and shoes and still look good in them. There's no excuse for whatever path you choose to follow in life. |
This is so wrong. He should have taken his anger on the guy in question and warned him to stay away from his daughter cos she's still a minor rather than beating her to death. I'm sure he'll be regretting his actions whilst cooling off his heels in jail. |
The problem is people would still borrow money from them, then come online to cry victim. If everyone stopped patronizing them, they'll shut down. It's that simple. |
Deeper life members see members of other Pentecostal churches as sinners. So if you're serious and really want something with her you'd have to follow her to her church (deeper life), if she's a church worker, join the group she's in, and with time, you guys would have more time for each other. |
Kokorokomaster1:You don't beg for hug from a girl, you just flow with the tide and hug her. Girls respect guys with confidence, charism, manly pride...etc. Unfortunately you lack these qualities that's why she would easily prefer a more confident guy to you. Work on your self-confidence or else no girl would take you serious. |
The grass is always greener on the other side, until you cross over there, then you'd discover that yours is far greener and better. Well the ball is in Alex's court, it's up to him to decide whether or not to accept her back. |
Mkelv0106:Don't get me wrong, I'm not justifying what he did...it's wrong. All I'm saying is that since she choose to help him against her better judgement, she should have just let the the money go. It's just 1k. The streets of Lagos is littered with beggars you and I know that. I ignore them whenever they come across me with fabricated tales aimed at appealing to my emotions so I can part with some money. But the reality of the matter is if by chance I buy into any of their tales and play the good Samaritan by giving out a token like 1k, I won't bother calling even if the person in question promises to reimburse me, cos I know he wouldn't and the money isn't worth me ringing his line non-stop. If you choose to give money to a stranger, you must believe that the money is gone. Cos less than 5% would keep to their promise by repaying you back. The rest would ghost you. |
If you can afford a private school, I'll recommend you enroll her there. Government schools are the ones that come up with all these unnecessary rules. Private schools on the other hand are after their fees, they don't really care how you dress, as long as their money is complete their doors would always be opened to you. |
The way this convoy drivers drive eh! See the pain they've brought to that family. They just made those poor kids orphans. |
teresafaith:Since it was just 1k you gave to him, you should have just let it go. Calling him to send you back the 1k you gave to him wasn't right. If you gave him like 10k I would have understood, but 1k, haba, that's like a Sunday offering you're giving to the needy. He was obviously starving and needed to come up with any kind of story to get money to feed. |
Poor and jobless people are a threat to the society. Imagine how this man spent his whole life producing children he obviously cannot cater for...I doubt if even know all their names. These kids would grow up lacking so many basic needs of life and end up becoming a threat to the society. |
Crystalom5:Read this post... we're saying the same thing. Nazgul: |
toolate2fail:Take it to their office it could be from your decoder. Mine is working perfectly.
|
Crystalom5:If you drop off a girl out of the kindness of your heart, would it be bad to ask for her number? The young man is trying his luck, if it works out fine if he doesn't he'll move on. My point is he can afford that money that's why he gave it away. |
Crystalom5:I don't understand how you guys on this section reason. So you've never in your life withdrawn like 50-100k to go out and have a great time before? Now in the process of enjoying yourself, you can easily give out 5k, because you can afford it. The guy in question gave out that money cos there's more where that came from...he can afford it. The girl's reaction to the money is what would determine his next move. |
Crystalom5:When you budget $5k to spend in Nigeria from wherever you're based you can give out a few hundreds to enjoy yourself. |
Crystalom5:The guy was just sizing her up, he knows there's hunger in Nigeria, however she acts when next she sees him would determine his next move. That's why I said if 70k can get her confused, it means that she doesn't know what she wants for herself. That guy would just hang out with her, have sex, spend more $bills and ball out. He might be looking for a wife material, and if he can get her full attention with just $100, believe me, he won't marry her. He'll just hang her and move on, cos to him, she's too cheap to be wifed. |
FeliciaOja:If $100 bill can get you confused as a grown up girl, it means you never loved your guy in the first place, and don't even know what you want for yourself. |
Never go out on a date with a guy who comes with a trailer load of friends, they obviously have bad intentions for you. Never accept any drink you didn't open yourself, it could be laced with sleeping pills. If you're not comfortable during a date, follow your instincts and flee. |
Kobojunkie:Go back and read the article this time slowly, then come back and read what you wrote here and ask yourself if you're making any sense. I had a roommate during my university days. Of course my money was my money and his money was his money. But whenever I'm financially down, he comes in and supports me and I'll reciprocate when he's financially down. Did we have rules in the house...yes Did the rule include us sharing our money equally amongst each other...no But we knew when to come in and help one another...that's what friendship is all about. We weren't couples, we were just roommates. Now look at the woman in question, she has kids for this man, and she's on the verge of loosing her house but she remains adamant because in her weired mind spending her money on a family she's part of is wrong. And you're here blabbing about agreement. What nonsense agreement. When you genuinely care about someone, his/her happiness would be your uttermost pirority. She doesn't love her husband... period. |
I'm going to be very honest with you... Chats and calls is totally different from reality. You don't know anything about this girl, you've never met her before, you don't know if she's the kind of woman you can cope with, you don't know what gets her angry or how she handles anger, you don't know if she has a partner(s) over there (I hope you know that Nigerian girls brought up in USA are different from Nigerian girls brought up in Nigeria). Some people are telling you to use her as your tunnel to the US, I'd say kill that though. Even if things work out and she brings you over there, she can still kick you out into the streets if things go south, and believe me, you'll be worse than how you were in Nigeria cos from your narrative, her family doesn't support your union. My advice is for you to keep the communication lines open. If she eventually comes to Nigeria, meet with her one on one and know if she's the kind of girl you want to be with. If she is, fire on, if she isn't end things, cos if you try to play a fast one on your fellow naija babe to get US permit, it would backfire cos her family would ensure they deal with you legally. (You know that we Nigerians can be wicked towards one another) |
Rip to him. It's so painful loosing a loved one. |
They should come and elect me I'm young... question is what would I do if I'm elected. I'll build airports in all the 36 States. Increase my presidential fleet to 36 planes. One for each state. Build a gigantic cathedral worth over $150b at also rock. Every Friday would be nation wide night vigil, goan pray to God, Muslims would pray to Allah. I would marry a wife from each of the 36 States to prove that I'm for everybody and de-tribalized. Young virgins would be carefully selected from the 36 states for me to choose from. I'll celebrate carnivals every last Saturday of the month, there would be eating and drinking. Musicians and comedians would grace the occasion. I'll build churches in every street in the South, and increase tithes to 20%. How can you be paying 10% since Bible time, haba, on behalf of God, I'll increase it to 20%. 10% for the church, 10% for me. I'll increase weekend to 3 days, we cannot come and kill ourselves, Monday to Thursday is work, Friday to Sunday is rest and religious activities. This and many more would I do once I'm elected to the office of the president of Nigeria. ![]() |
I still don't understand why the groom is crying. Whatever happened to calming her down. |
It's a mind game, targeted to blackmail you emotionally. Very soon you'll find yourself absorbing the financial responsibilities of she and her kids. |
Tell her that she has no iota of love for her husband...she just married him because she felt it was time to get married and age wasn't on her side. If she cannot render support to a man she calls her husband, she has no business being with him, she just just get a divorce and leave that innocent hardworking man alone. |
johnwegs:Why not remain in owerri and keep applying for jobs (most especially IT jobs) in lagos. The good thing about IT jobs is that from your application, to your test, to your interview would all be done online. You would only relocate to Lagos once your employment has been confirmed. Coming to Lagos without any job, no money, no accommodation...etc, is suicidal, don't allow all those Nollywood movies of the 90s and 2000s decieve you, where one village boy would go to Lagos and 6 months later he has a house and jeep. Buhari's government changed all that, every part of the country (Lagos inclusive) is feeling the heat of this failed administration. |
Princewell2012:We're in Nigeria not India. Our cultures are different. Besides have you ever been to india, if no, you have no right to use them as case study cos everything you know about them is hearsay and not personal experience. |
supereagle:No woman would walk straight up go you and ask you to marry her and even offer to pay half the marriage cost. It's strange. No matter how much she loves you, the highest she'll do is to give you green light and not a marriage proposal. |
Streetmovement:I'm surprised sef, so no guy on Nairaland is in any serious relationship. All those guys that usually bore us with threads of how they sponsored their girlfriends from primary school to University, where are they? ![]() |
Truthsoldier:Share her reply with the house. |
Emmy909:I'm single and not in any relationship. |
