FamilyRe: 6 Months Baby! by Nekai(f): 12:03pm On Apr 06, 2011
True! No teeth yet for my babies. They are 6 months old, so 3 months behind your daughter. Avacado fingers sound good! I have to try that one. It seems like it would feel cool on their gums too. Sometimes after a day of heavy drooling I think I'm going to wake up to a tooth and none yet.
FamilyRe: Baby Skin Lightening by Nekai(f): 11:48am On Apr 06, 2011
Babies tend to break out in a rash with anything but the mildest of soaps. I can't imagine using lightening soap on a tender baby's skin.
FamilyRe: What Are The Factors/things That Can Affect Pregnancy & Pregnant Women? by Nekai(f): 11:45am On Apr 06, 2011
Nekai:
1. Insulin use for the diabetic mother does not cause a baby to have complications.
Not using insulin when you are diabetic can casue complications. The baby may grow very large, too large to pass safely into the birth canal. Either way, diabetes put a baby at higher risk of complications. There is a risk that the blood sugars of the baby may drop to dangerous levels, which is why they must measure the blood sugar of the baby at birth.
2. Vitamin C is important to everyone, and is not much more important to pregnant women.
The most important vitamin is folic acid, which is found in leafy green vegetables, so spinach as you stated is very helpful. Folic acid is especially helpful in the early stages, so it is important for women who are planning to get pregnant to start taking extra. 800 mg is recommended. This vitamin helps prevent neural tube defects, like spina bifida. The neural tube defects occur in the first 6-12 weeks of the pregnancy, sometimes before a woman realizes she is pregnant, so supplementation beforehand is necessary.
3. Travelling on a shaking bus
This is not harmful for the low risk pregnant woman, but for those suffering from an incompetent cervix, or a previous miscarriage or previous preterm delivery it would be best to avoid the extra jolting.
4.Wearing high heels isn't harmful to a baby.
It may be uncomfortable for the mother because many women suffer from swelling. It may also be a bit harder to walk since the center of gravity is shifted during pregnancy.
5. Alcoholic drinks is especially harmful to a developing baby.
Fetal alcohol syndrome is a preventable birth defect, caused by alcohol comsumption during pregnancy. It's best to avoid it altogether.
6. Pounding on a mortar
Not harmful. (See #3)

More. . .
Things that are not harmful: Sex (for low risk pregnancies), Going for a swim, light exercise.
Things that are harmful: x-rays, lying on your back too much in late pregnancy, drug use (ask your doctor for a list of approved drugs you can take.)

I hope this helps. smiley

Tummy time is important too. It helps with the neck muscles. Just put him on his tummy periodically and let him look around. I second the bumbo chairs! They're really great!

Run away from this guy. What is a man good for if he can't make you feel nice every once in a while? If you have made it known that you would feel nice if he got you a little gift here or there, or for a special occasion, and he doesn't do that then he doesn't care. Period. If he was just being stingy, then he wouldn't allow himself to ask you for any money.

HealthRe: Male Child Circumcision by Nekai(f): 11:08am On Apr 05, 2011
At the time, my reasons for circumcising my sons was because I thought that they would face more complications uncirc'ed. I also thought that cosmetically they would look better. And I thought they would be cleaner.
Now, I know that complications can happen either way, and are more likely to happen when you mess with the natural way they were supposed to be. Cosmetically, I was very suprised to realize that they both look exactly the same when erect. As far as the cleanliness factor, the foreskin isn't designed to be pulled back until a couple of years down the road, so it wasn't like I thought.
Men have been circumcised for thousands of years without major incident, so I don't feel too badly about my boys, but I do wish I had researched more of this info before I made the decision. My research came about because I wanted to know if they were healing properly and all that. I kept coming across people with horror stories, and women that were proudly keeping their sons 'intact'. I even found out that some men elect to grow their foreskins back!
I don't have any experience with an uncircumcised partner. I was hoping to find someone who has experienced both could tell me if there was a major difference in their experience.
