The notion of a running service while building a userbase haunts very many companies and it's hard to convince non-payers to become paying. Very few investors want see a company that costs a lot to run, with no revenues. |
[s]OP how far? You no wan make person celebrate FTC this Friday?[/s] Anyways, good list sha... everybody loves success, and each successful artist has their means and ways. But what works for one may not necessarily work for others. For instance weed... it works for Wizzy, Burna, and did wonders for Fela ![]() Edited: you mean am? I enter FTC. Abeg make I dance small... I'm really proud of all our artists, producers, marketers, publishers, etc. who are taking Nigerian pop and R&B international. Hearing about their latest forays into US, UK, Asia, Africa makes me so happy. So to all of them, continue in your own unique way. |
Orobo2Lekpa:Igbo is also herb oh... or were you joking? ![]() |
Egbon Eedris... we know you senior these people and you and your cohorts paved the way. Much respect. That said, pls release something worthy instead of yabbing the current masters of the mic. Don't be like OBJ pouring sand on people's garri at every opportunity. |
This is beaurriful. Most times, I don't need caption to know which child is which parent's. Them resemble wella Make una no con spoil dis fine thread with annoying comments. Una know urself ![]() |

So that I waste credit, then find small change to give yet another public official before information is divulged? Smh. ![]() |
No surprise there. I could see that from 10 miles away. ![]() |
10: Always calling people by their nicknames. So you have in a family, the Chairman, The Oldman and the Governor. That is how we lost the name of one of my uncles. We always called him Teacher. After he and all his siblings died nobody remembered his name.Heh heh this one made me laugh... so what do you put on the funeral announcement? |
Xblink:His children, University of Southern California, and some other charities. I'm sure he gave her some kind of spending money... which she should have saved. She's still young and can go find work. Alternatively, she can use her looks to get another rich guy. She doesn't have children/dependents, so why should he have left any. She was also an adult when she signed those papers. As for Mr Hefner... here's a toast to a man who lived life well, till the very last end! I mean, the guy was healthy, looked good, and was in good spirits for all his life. Never a dull moment.

This is a great development, but Dubai should spend it's money producing things now. In 20 years the world will have mostly moved away from oil. That said, we in Naija can't even produce all our own food, with all the arable land and abundant rainfall. This is not even high-tech. Just the basics. It is well. ![]() |

They should stop being flawless and start doing something meaningful abeg... ![]() |
Hakeem12:But those places are also very expensive. I was shocked with how much food and transport can be. Almost Lagos levels, but with 1/2 Lagos pay. |
Kwara is one of the quietest, peaceful states I've ever been to. Very calm, even in the capital. If you want 1 year of peace, cheap cost of living, decent weather, come to Kwara. You might be bored if you're used to Lagos or Ibadan, but Ilorin is chilled out. There's not much money, but people are really nice all over. |
Ritajovy:Two reasons: 1. There is no public toilet within reach and nature is really pressing... 2. There might be one but in such bad state you can get sick using it. Instead of addressing the real problem, we're here pondering the symptoms. I've been in many situations where I was at least 30 minutes from a functioning toilet, even in a govt building, and I felt the need an hour ago. |
You know I wrote a bunch of philosophical stuff, then decided it was all rubbish. Everybody should be free to look for the qualities they want in a wife. |
emperordelis:You know that cold water, fear, and exercise can make manhood shrink temporarily right? Ask your friend if his manhood has returned in size. In fact, take him to see olosho and ask him again if it's still shrunk. |
Ember months again... this is like a recurring nightmare. Why is it only in Africa people lose manhood anyhow? Mtchew |
openmine:You know that's true... I haven't seen a "blame GEJ" post in a while... ![]() |
Epileptic power supply and water? These are easy problems to solve locally. Millions of us provide our own water and power so a large private co with govt backing should have no issue, right? ![]() |
So the two adult men who let something get between them get the least blame? ![]() If they were 5 year old, I would understand, but Peter and Paul have nobody but themselves to blame. Not Jude, not the wives, not the mother. That's how we like to absolve ourselves of responsibility and start blaming village witches, devil, or Buhari for our personal issues. |
You say, "I've heard" then you go on living ur life. What else is there to do? |
majekdom2:I didn't equate success to being married or older, but being married and older increases the chances that girls will find you attractive. Why? Because you're likely to have other women in your life. We have our own perspectives, and I respect where you're coming from too. |
majekdom2:In your experience how many purely intelligent or economically successful men get the girls? Those by themselves are not attractive. If you are wealthy but don't know to talk, how likely are you to be getting girls? They may accept to do certain things for money, but they are not attracted (which is the topic). In summary, 1. Successful men with no women around don't get the girls ("what's wrong, is he gay or mentally somehow?" ) 2. Intelligent with no women around don't get the girls ("ah he may help me pass exam, but I can't date him" ) 3. Dating a beautiful woman - pre-selected ("I'm beautiful too, so I stand a chance" ) 4. Having a history with women - pre-selected ("I want what she has, so let me step up" ) |
majekdom2:The bolded: 1. Yes, the new lion king is younger, but only because the older one lost the fight (age, becoming unfit, less able to defend his pride, all tied to survivability, not age per se). There is a peak period of strength and vitality, but it's not when you're too young or too old. Same applies to men: the bulk of married men who can attract girls are in their 40s and 50s (peaking around 45-55). Some in 30s, some in 60s, and very very little outside that band. Same with lions. 2. Actually, a female dog only sleeps with the most persistent, strongest dog. A female dog is in heat for 7-10 days and will be pursued by many many males. She is receptive in a small window (1 or 2 days), and only the male that hangs around the longest and beats other contenders get access. It's false that she sleeps with anything, actually. In fact after mating, their genitals lock to ensure that only his sperm fertilize her eggs. 3. When a woman sees a successful man who is not with a woman, the first question is "what is wrong with him?" That should clue you in that success in and of itself is not the attractant. If he had a woman, he would suddenly be way more attractive to other women. Older women are also attracted by the attention she could get from a virile, young man, who - once again - has other women in his life. I'm yet to see woman salivating over a man - successful or not - who is not in the company of other women. So for me the primary reason is pre-selection. |
lefulefu:I think you misunderstood me (yes there are rich single, and broke married). But what you said in bold actually enforces what I said: women are attracted to married men/womanizers because they have other women around them. A married man, by definition, has been pre-selected by other women. I gave the scientific reason why pre-selection works (as a proxy for maturity and wealth), but it's the pre-selection that makes her attracted. |
Pre-selection. I'm going to get scientific here. Pre-selection is a theory that states that females are attracted to males who other females are already attracted to. You see it in birds, lions, humans. The evolutionary advantage is that: men can fake success, but the presence of other women in a man's life means the chances of the success being real, is, well, more real. Success means the man has access to material wealth and social capital, which increase her chances of survival (particularly if she was to get pregnant; also ensures her ability to pass on those same strong genes into her offspring). She's got nothing to gain by being with a man other women don't want (which strongly correlates with being poor, unhealthy, unfit). This is why only the strongest, fittest, healthiest males in the animal kingdom get all the girls, and the others are left to steal p*ssy here and there. Even in this modern society, certain boxes get checked in a woman's subconscious mind when she sees married men with children. He has enough to take care of his loved ones, and some of that can extend to her. It's not her fault, you see, but her genes. It's also quite practical... how many struggling men can give her what she needs? The only advantage of a young man today is he has energy and free time. Otherwise he is not as mature, wise, calm, gentle, experienced, resourceful, wealthy, or well connected as the older man he will become. As time goes on, the young man will transition into an older man, and acquire these traits through hard work, intelligence, and persistence. As an aside, an older, poor unmarried man probably has less drive, ambition, or even luck, and would thus be much less attractive. |
So what if she's racist? Are Nigerians not tribalist? Why complain of oyinbo people when black men do much worse to themselves... What she said, a Yoruba stewardess might say about Igbos. Or Igbo complain about Hausa. Or Itshekiri about Urhobo, Or Ekiti against Ondo. All I glean from the video is she likes BBC news and can't wait to turn on the telly when she gets to the hotel. ![]() |

Hah flooded cars? Welcome to Nigeria where we wade through ponds, lakes and rivers every rainy season. Where water carries car from compound into main road every June. If water no enter my door, that means I didn't drive this year. I don't want any car that has not been through a flood, because if those can still run, then they have passed the most difficult test of all. Bring them, bring them... at least US flood is cleaner ![]() Best practice when you get a new car... have a trusted and competent mechanic inspect and service it. Flush fluids, let it dry. Then lube, and reassemble. My friend (excellent mechanic) and I have been doing things together more than 15 years now. The guy can pieces car, remove engine and hang it from tree within 1 day. |
