jlinkd78:But Kanu IS a dumbass. I mean, quite the mischievous little character. Yes, I said it. The only thing Igbos have gotten from Kanu is trouble, brainwashing, boot kissing, self-belittling, and abandonment; unfortunately we also lost some lives. There are ways to obtain a Biafra - not that its existence would miraculously stop fake drugs or other crimes, nor would it prevent Igbos from arrogantly overbearing the other minorities being roped into the concept of Biafra - but Kanu's pronouncements and seditious activities are not the way to achieve it. The information about Atiku is available for anybody to get if they cared, but it's disingenuous to phrase it that "Atiku is from Cameroon..." for the purposes of elections. If doubt should be raised about one "Cameroonian from Adamawa", then it should be raised for all Adamawa indigenes. Their being Nigerian has been a solved matter for nearly 60 years. In the same way nobody doubts Hawaiians are Americans (joined the Union in 1959), nobody doubts that Adamawans (and Atiku) are Nigerians... except some people who prefer to use their intelligence for scamming their fellow Igbos. Buhari is Jubrin from Sudan Atiku is from Cameroon. What next, Sowore is from Benin Republic? |
Well, if we accept people of Adamawa as Nigerians, then why single out one indigene? It's either they all from Cameroon and are ineligible to vote, get a passport, etc, or they are all Nigerians. |
mrvitalis:I understand where you're going but I will step in and say that the government of US did this: - established good, and well equipped, public education system to train their young - provided stable light, and built the backbone and initial funding for a pervasive Internet - provided fair and stable economic system - provided a social safety net, so even if you failed, you won't perish - provides subsidies (erm. tax rebates) so people could afford Tesla's cars - provides good roads so Amazon could be sure of getting and delivering its products - keeps the dollar stable so it doesn't halve in value after one year Castigating Nigerian youths for not being able to achieve the same as US youths, growing up with drastically different - and disabling - environment is not fair or encouraging. |
Shibaraba:But that's the original problem: to Buhari and Ribadu, Chad and Niger are family. It is us - in southern Nigeria, that are neighbors to Buhari. Once you understand who his real family is, you understand why he does what he does. |
etrouble:Husbands kick out all kinds of women for the flimsiest reasons. You can be the kindest heart, best cook, longest weave, best bedroom skills, etc, and the man will still find some excuse (usually another new thing) to kick you out. |
The sad thing is that many people that I heard on the streets have this to say this about Sowore: "I've never heard of him" "He's untested and inexperienced" "A vote for him would be a wasted vote" I hope more and more people will be convinced in the next two weeks to vote for him. What I also want to see is for all the third-force parties to join up behind Sowore, and for all the youths to vote for him. |
Which kind unsupervised access, visiting all kinds of site and posting all kinds of nonsense with my money. ![]() Only at the age they are living on their own, paying for their own data and electricity. Until then, 1GB/month, and I will monitor the URLs you visit. Use wisely. Trouble is these days, all the kids want to feel among, so by 14 they are demanding for smart phone so they won't be left out. And once you have your one phone, you can pretty much go anywhere you want. The Internet is not a safe place, in spite of all the benefits, so there are apps to help monitor and limit. One thing somebody mentioned they do is the phone does not have a sim, so child can only browse where there's wifi (at home), which is connected to a router/firewall. Of course, the kid can go to somebody else's network and browse, so it's not the best solution either. |
Nice one, but I'm sure this is the last time we will see Atiku in Asaba, wearing akwa-ocha. Once they get our votes, they never come back. At least our tourism industry (hotel and olosho) will benefit small from this visit ![]() Only 16 more days before the Wicked Wizard of Daura clicks his heels and disappears into the desert. |
I wish I could wish her luck, I really do, but her music is quite embarrassing... she day try sha... what have I accomplished? |
akiOYIBO: Olawalesmarter:akiOYIBO you see ur life? ![]() (I no be Yoruba BTW, but see correct reply) ![]() |
Chai... and you will see jobless youths spending their last credit to support people who don't give a damn. Ask these same people to donate N100 to fix the water pump, you will see excuses. Mtchew |
CreepyBlackpool:My thoughts exactly... who wan try am? |
(Amb) Adedipe Dauda Ewenla cannot have Hon. in his name because he is not a present or past member of the House of Assembly. He is an aspirant/candidate. Still... may the full wrath of the law visit their sorry asses. |
Remimadrid:With the Northern vote divided this time around between Buhari and Atiku? SW with no horse in the race might stick with PMB because of Osinbajo. SE, SS, may just be the deciding vote... abi what do you think? |
Slynation:You make very good points... the matter just tire me... |
"amidst the baseless criticism from opposition parties. " The claims are not baseless, but you know the real irony? APC and PDP are composed of the same people... there's no difference between the so-called opposition, and the party of the current president. So when people start shouting and counter-accusing each other, realize that at the end of the day, they are all friends with the same agenda: carry as much loot as you can. |
cooltola:I don't understand how, if people are regretting voting for Buhari today, how it will get better if he's elected again? It's for certain there will be regrets from 2020-2023 |
Centcanada:But hasn't he just given us good advice? APC and PDP are the same thing, just like boli and plantain. The advice is: don't vote for either of these candidates. Choose wisely from the third force parties. I feel we are on the verge of making history - this is the first time we have so many viable third-party candidates, but as usual, we will settle between two mediocre choices, then complain about their lack of vision in the next 4 years. |
NgeneUkwenu:OK, so he is criminal (which I'm not debating for or against); the Constitution outlines how to deal with it, which has not been followed. A simple majority in Senate is required, which was not obtained. The National Judicial Council itself said they will look upon the matter on 28th, so on what basis is Buhari able to suspend or remove? He should follow due process, and not strong arm his choices. BTW, has Senate confirmed his choice? This smacks of stacking the decks before an election, and is - at the very least - a faux pas, if not outright tyrannical. Please PMB, you have served your country (I can't say you've done it well, but there you are)... thanks and have a good rest of your life. Can't wait for Feb 16. |
jameskey:He is elected to be president of the entire country. The ballot does not say: "president of the people who vote for me". Once you're elected, you stop being a partisan candidate, and you take all citizens as your own. Won't that even be an excellent way to guarantee your re-election? |
Toluabigr8:I want to, but my president is decidedly tribal, ignoring all the wisdom in our federal character, and our history of taking steps to forge a more inclusive, united country. Most, if not all previous Nigerian presidents have been inclusive. How will my concerns get voiced when none of the ministers in charge share a common experience with me? How will they make decisions that have relevance for me? |
Amumaigwe:You have a point there, but I think when people think in terms of appointments, there are distinctions in people's minds. Take for instance, if a Yoruba person from Kwara/Ilorin was appointed minister, would people from Oyo count it towards their own appointment quota? Or will they say, "no... we also want a person from Yorubaland." They would accept to count a person from Osun, Ogun, etc... but Kwara... that's middle-belt appointment. I think that's what's happening here about Okiro too... Abi what do you think? |
Toluabigr8:We didn't mention SS or SE. Okiro is not an Igbo man. Edo is in SS, but would you call a Benin person Igbo? I think he did an excellent job, but if somebody says "Okiro is Igbo, so people should be happy for the Igbo appointment", that's as misinformed as claiming that because a "Nupe person was appointed, Sokoto people should be happy for the Hausa appointment". There's so much wrong with that last statement. I'm not Igbo, so I'm not claiming or disclaiming somebody. |
Toluabigr8:Not appointed by Buhari, so not relevant to this discussion. He isn't Igbo BTW, he's Egbema from Rivers. |
Tallesty1: Akuruoulo:The trouble for him is that as a Black Man in America (which is where I think this is), if he touches her, he could be looking at arrest, court proceedings, and possibly jail time, even if he was provoked like this. Totally not worth it. The guy is real tolerant and didn't lose his cool, which we commend, but why didn't other people restrain her? I mean, she kept going and going... and the sad thing is if he so much as pushed her, she would start claiming victim and crying for police. Women in yankee abuse the situation... it's best just to avoid wahala cuz they crazy. The sad part is he could be on probation for all you know, and this woman knows it. He does not want a silly woman to land him back in jail. It happens a lot that a woman knows if you do something you will get into big trouble, so they keep taunting and provoking. All one can do is walk away, ask for people to help and restrain her, and avoid her ass in future, even if it makes you look silly. People abusing him will not be around to bail him out or pay lawyer fees. |
I don't mean to be an ass, but who cares? She's not an elected leader, nor appointed minister or director. |
Funny, it seems stealing 500 Naira used pant is now worse than stealing 50k? ![]() |
ebuk4real:How many of his contemporaries are actively building a USD $15 Billion project, with confirmed work on the ground, and a solid commitment from all stakeholders? If somebody like Innoson was building something of this scale, and didn't get the same level of support, then we can compare and contrast. Of course, CBN's commitment is a result of lobbying and requests, just like in other part of the world. I don't think the Fed in the US, or Bank of China will just support a random business without lobbying, phone calls, and visits. If his contemporaries don't ask, they won't get, and it's up to them to complain that they are not getting the level of support they need. CBN has said simply: you bring this type of investment - which obviously needs a ton of forex - and we're here to help. It's a sign to other investors, local and foreign; to Dangote's suppliers in Europe, India, and Asia; to members of the foreign press; to shareholders in Dangote locally and abroad; and especially to naysayers in European and American industrial communities whose business would suffer because of this refinery: this project is not going to fail, and the Government has the facility to support it. |
ebuk4real:You may say so, but governments in developed countries give subsidies, tax breaks, special financial arrangements in the name of progress and employment. It wasn't even so long ago the US government bailed out (as in just dashed them money) to American car companies and banks. |
Sakamaje:You don't get to be loved because of luck... it's the result of how he has carried himself all this while. We dislike PMB because of his disdain and disrespect. You would not know that PMB is a president of all Nigeria based on the way he talks about other people who don't belong to his side, those he appoints, those he associates with, where contracts are done, and even places he visits. Thank God the current CBN governor was appointed before he became president, otherwise our economy would have been in the shitter. |
LuciferVirgin:Well, if I was one of the people whose death was averted by his self-sacrificing action, I would be very very thankful and grateful. In saner climes, we would gather and assist with burial and or assist his family in some small way. RIP to the unlucky hero. |
