INTEGRITYA1:I'm not sure about that... you know how much the air around refineries get polluted? It might be good for industry, and maybe building industrial estates, but I doubt you'd want your children near there. |
MrAJQ:Yes, because Dangote conceived this refinery only after Buhari was elected abi? It was Buhari's policy of devaluating Naira and impoverishing the economy that helped this project take off? It was because of Buhari a consortium of international and local banks loaned money for the project, at a time of unprecedented capital flight? This is a project done IN SPITE of Buhari. That man has been an obstacle to every single meaningful thing in this country. |
Obasanjo should please have several seats. Every few years, he tells the world his choice on who should be elected and why. He supported Yaradua, then shifted to Jonathan because of dissatisfaction with Atiku (his VP who helped torpedo the third-term agenda). Later, he withdrew his support from Jonathan and gave it to Buhari. Now he is at odds with Buhari and is supporting Atiku. I've never seen such a double-faced public character. Zero consistency, except to his own personal interest. Another commonality, these people have at one point or another refused to toe his line, and for that he demonizes them - not because of what is actually good for the country. Once the alert from Atiku has finished, he will find another person to "recommend". His lists of reasons are totally irrelevant for the health of the country and its citizens. None of the candidates is a saint, but the last person we need judging them is Obasanjo. |
Oma307: theoldpretender:That goes against the grain of free association. If the parties want to enforce it against their members as an internal affair, sure, but it cannot really be a law. According to INEC, a candidate can withdraw from the election, which enables the party to present another candidate. It does not specify that candidates cannot move from party to party, even after being registered as a candidate. |
So we're just going to ignore that seller of influence, and not just the buyer, need to be scrutinized... if $1.1 million can buy you influence in Washington, why do we complain about what it can buy you in Abuja? |
Yea! I've heard people say they heard it on radio in New York and in Florida. I'm just so proud of our artistes... true ambassadors of Nigeria to the world... unlike some elected and appointed people whose names I shan't mention |
In a reply to a previous thread... I just wanted to mention that: ... 1984 was the only time in my life I had to queue as a young boy for essential food supplies, because of Buhari's policies. So when things got hard in 2015, 2016, I wondered if we were going to reach that stage again. Sure they met $1 to 22 naira in 1999, but expanded the economy from 160 Billion in 1999, to 1089 Billion USD in 2015, just over 15 years. Let me reiterate: under the same people being abused today, they increased the size of our economy nearly 7 fold in 15 years. Not doubled, 7x. They met no jobs, no mobile network, little internet, banking that did not reach most people, no democracy or free speech, thanks to Buhari and his classmates who interrupted civilian regimes. I don't need anybody to tell me that 1999-2015 have been some of the best years of Nigeria in recent memory (I was not around during the boom years of 1970s). From 1999, things were happening, places were popping, opportunities were growing, startups were proliferating, and job numbers were growing. There was a growing sense of hope, pride, and self-actualization in Nigerians that had been hampered since 1983. We were on the verge of becoming the #19 largest economy (from around #65in 1999), in just 15 years (I'm one of the editors on the wiki for Nigeria's economy). We had just stopped importing cement (and will soon stop importing petrol), thanks NOT to Buhari, but to hardworking Nigerians. Again, our GDP (PPP) rocketed from about 160 Billion in 1999 to 1089 Billion in 2015, where it has mostly stagnated since then. Imagine how much we must have grown in comparison to other countries in just 15 years. With that momentum being one of the top 10 economies in 15 years was within sight. However we've already fallen to #23 during Buhari's time and will likely fall to #30 or worse if we give him another 4 years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Nigeria#Economic_history So many positive things were happening, but we succumbed to the dogma of corruption, without realizing that an expanded, inclusive and diversified economy is the cure to corruption. The ONE thing I can look and say Emefiele and Osinbajo (and NOT Buhari) have done is keep the exchange rate stable for the longest period I've ever experience. |

Tetehjewels:1. These are the posts of ONE person (who may have an axe to grind about Trump) ... that's not American press. 2. If a corrupt foreigner can lobby the American government, and not be persecuted even after the allegations, and get a visa to travel even after being allegedly banned... what does that say about the American government? 3. I actually don't care about the discussion of corruption... Atiku's presidency is more likely to expand and diversify our economy so that there are many other legitimate ways to make money, and that's the direction we should be going. Corruption is a direct result of Government's dependence on one source of income. We don't need an "honest" hypocrite whose two tenures in 1983-1984 and 2015-2019 have been marked by increased suffering, poverty, unrest, one-sided persecution, and dwindling opportunities for all. Why allow Buhari a third opportunity to pull us down, abuse us, and go on extended holidays? Don't forget Americans are #1 for fraud in number and dollar amount. It's the home of credit card fraud, tax fraud, benefits fraud, insurance fraud, predatory lending, and the 2008 financial crisis, caused by rampant dishonesty in the financial and housing markets. |
Sometimes I agree it's the fault of the tailor... but in this case, na the model no carry the dress well ![]() |

ainas247:Ha, that on is not a worst experience na... that's like saying you will encounter other cars on the road. Roadblock and driving in Nigeria is an expected, common occurrence. If I don't drop about at least N500 during my trip for police, I've not travelled far. The one that pains me the most is when I was trying to avoid pothole at roundabout in Owerri last May, dem con hold me say: "why did you enter the other lane if you're entering rounabout?" So I should enter pothole and jam my shock abi? Long story short, after begging and more than 30 minutes, dem comot 7k from my hand. Otherwise, they for impound the car, then I would pay more to free it later. I don't mind dropping small change 100 or 200 here and there for journey mercies, but ... dat tin pain me eh... But that stomach thing... me and my guy went to our favorite joint early one morning before our trip... no new soup, so we took soup from last night. We didn't feel too bothered until about 3 hours into the journey when we started sweating profusely. Adding to our woes, we had just come to an army checkpoint, so you know we have to maintain composure before story. Chai after 5 painful minutes we left the checkpoint... if you see how we raced to find bush. We came down, he went left, I went right... I con scatter my stomach for ground... whew! That thing hold me for like two days before I got myself back. Moral of the story: be very careful of what you eat before your journey. Since then, I pack bread, mineral or bottle water, epa and banana for my trip, plus keep amoxicillin in the car. Also carry like 10 pure water, soap, and some tissue in case of incasity. |
OP, give no woman your spare key unless you are married. Don't say we didn't warn you. |
The point of life is to propagate itself. We are merely vessels for that purpose. What's a bird's purpose? Or an elephant? Why would Man's purpose be specially different? Being able to eat, see, run, reproduce, think, and create tools are expressions of life finding different ways to propagate and survive nature. We see these same properties in every other life form to varying degrees, and just so happen to be the most intelligent species right now, on this particular planet. Life is such an amazingly complex process that it's hard to understand how it ever developed, though it's thought that - given the same raw materials (proteins, salts, heavy metals, irradiation, energy, and time) at the right amounts - it can exist in many parts of the Universe. |
He said: “his trip is about engaging partners because he wants to hit the ground running without wasting unnecessary time.” And some people will be waiting six months for baba go slow to tell them which ministry they will be working in. In almost 4 years, how many partners has he engaged? |
Eeyah... as for me, I sleep in a duplex on the banks of the River Niger in Asaba, and the weather is always nice and cool at night. The view is serene and quiet and I enjoy watching the River flow. Leave Lagos and try to enjoy quality of life in other parts of Nigeria. |
sureheaven:Er... the only way you can enter US without issue even if they have a case against you personally is to be the president of a country and hence its representative - and in that case only for visiting the UN or some such. Other diplomats (aides, vp, senator, ambassador, presidential candidate, etc.) can be declared persona non-grata. Since he is not yet president, one would assume there's no ban currently in effect. He is meeting with US congressmen, businessmen, and for some reason you think he could if he was under a ban? The man is actively canvassing for himself (and in effect for us), improving political, diplomatic, and business links but it appears you'd rather the man who has no idea if he's the actual candidate, who might spend up to 1 year abroad after the strain of campaigning, who to my recollection has not improved ties with other countries (except say Niger)? I'm no fan of Atiku (and would rather he and Buhari both lose), but stop looking for excuses when the evidence is not there. You say he was banned, yet he is there? Do you have access to US State Department dossier or are you just repeating something you've heard somewhere from people who have a history of twisting facts and outright lying? |
I wish there was a way for us to filter out topics on the front page using a list of words so I could read news without clutter . For me, it would include:"shows off" "car" "cleavage" "thigh" "flaunts" "slams" "buys" "bares" "cute photos" "spotted with" "throwback" "apc" "Davido" "Kemi Olunloyo" "Kemi" "Bobrisky" "Buhari" "Saraki" "Lai" "Reno" "bleach" "swag" "dies" "killed" "kills" "accident" "pants" "panty" "pastor" "ritual" "yahoo" "snake" |
I know this is scripted for the gram, but I don't understand why some men think women should answer broke guys. Why be with a broke, nice guy, when you can be with a rich, nice guy? As in. |
By soon, he means 2051 |
Nigerians youths: you have the power to elect this man. If all youths from 18-39 vote for Sowore, and older people split their votes for Buhari or Atiku, Sowore will win. There are way more than you than any older group in Nigeria right now. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Nigeria Roughly speaking, if you consider only people of voting age, I've estimated using the above chart that youths 18-39 are about 62% of the voting population, while 40+ are about 38% of the voting population. Use your numbers wisely and take the power you deserve. Nigerian youths: the older generation has been taking you for granted, stealing your destinies, yet turning around and abusing you, calling you lazy when they are the ones who stole your future. Nigerian youths: you have a choice, stand up and vote in new leadership that will take you far, or vote for the same recycled ones that will continue to retard your possibilities. The current leaders grabbed power in their late 20s and 30s. You can either prove that you are indeed lazy, or that you have what it takes to sock them out of power. France's Macron, Canada's Trudeau, Ethiopia's Ahmed Ali, Liberia's Weah, are showing the way, yet you are being told to choose between two people who were in their 40's before you were even born. ps. I'm in my 40s, so I'm not a youth. This is a unique chance for Nigerians to change levels. |
jasonguru:Thank you my brother. She just didn't know how to do it right. Instead of using that pocket money to buy iPhone and bags to consume, she should have opened shop. Plenty hanty have become wealthy from dating billionaires, they just were smart about it. |
CilicMarin: Movic1: ORIENTATION101:Brother please. In Delta, all you need is to hand out N500 to our jobless youths and they will show up to your rally. Please don't confuse crowd with support. I'm in Delta and this is the simple truth: there is no love for APC here, but boys must collect. |
press9jatv:Atiku will be joining the meeting by satellite! ![]() You don't need visa for that ![]() |
baike:In the same way he's removing all the bad eggs in his crate now bah? You can be sure that his second term would be business as usual, if not worse, because then he won't even have to pretend to be care. |
Saffi:I was going to say the same thing. When people say ladies bleach, we thought it's just a few here and there, but from these 10-year pictures, EVERY babe is fairer today than 10 years ago... it's so pervasive. |
doctoradekokolo:Gbam! Even in Naija, Delta girls be like: "Na Igbo guys we like, they work hard, they know how to spend on their woman and are not stingy with money"... ![]() Then you will hear: "Yoruba guys are very romantic and can talk sweetly to you. Igbo guys don't have sweet mouth" I tire for woman matter |
Mysociallife:I don't know, but that brick work and and hanging pendant light is bae. I'm considering copying it for my place I'm building |

I'm not an advocate for men taking too long to marry a girl (7 years is too long to be in a relationship and not marry her). But at the same time, you can't know the true behavior of a woman in just one or two months... unless you just accept her no matter the crazy she can bring to your life. HML sha. |
I personally hope I can make it to his 50th anniversary in two years. It will be quite the occasion and historical. How many Alaafin's have made it to 50 years anniversary? Praying for continued life, strength, and prosperity, Kabiyesi O! |
