CrimeRe: Ritualist Kill 4-yr-old Boy In Enugu by Nightshift(m): 5:49pm On Jul 26, 2013
Please, not in my coal city! The culprit(s) must be caught and prosecuted.
All those evil secret society ( Ogboni and co) people brought such evil to Igboland.
TravelRe: Roads Blocked In Port Harcourt? by Nightshift(m): 4:49pm On Jul 26, 2013
Were streets in Geneva closed when Nigerian president' s wife visited? No, even the blue waters of lake Geneva didn't notice she was in town. Perhaps she was there to shop for finest Swiss watches a la Geneva made!
I sincerely pity folks in Garden City; a city known for living life to fullest. The city that gave Nigeria its first FM radio station - RR2 FM Stereo ( 99. 128 MHz) Port- Harcourt.
PoliticsRe: Fashola Provides Skill Training For Hawkers by Nightshift(m): 9:27am On Jul 26, 2013
Wnen i hear someone has been deported, i normally assume from foreign counties. But no, Nigerian state of Lagos has added a new meaning to the word by deporting or banning citizens from other Nigerian states from its territory.
In another true federation, the state of Baden- Würtemberg can never deport or ban a citizen of say Thüringen, from Stuttgart or elsewhere in the state.
Why do we have abundant negative energy in Nigeria?

A no-drama guy, he seems. He could have been a fine politician elsewhere, than in Nigeria's mafia-like political terrain.

Enlightened Ndigbo are moving beyond the barbaric culture introduced by satanic worshipping lunatics. Besides, the evil culture is not "Igboversal"as some confused folks might think. A divided house has no unity, neither does it speak in unison! Egbe bere, ugo bere....
PoliticsRe: US Shale Output Causes Anxiety For African Oil Producers by Nightshift(m): 5:50pm On Jul 25, 2013
America's self-reliance on oil is a recipe for excruciating poverty in Nigeria, as the country's rulers have for decades wasted billions of oil dollars on frivolity.
The worst is that the ruling elites will not change their ways of creaming-off the remaining money through bogus contracts and outright stealing.
CelebritiesRe: Beverly Osu Slept With Men To Take Care Of Her Family’ by Nightshift(m): 5:04pm On Jul 25, 2013
Lanceslot: Ask any Igbo behind you the meaning of OSU.
So anyone with such a name must be something else? Dude, get all that cultural iniquity passed onto you by your satanic worshipping ancestors off you damn egg head. Get your 15th century mindset off here!

In a conservative country like Nigeria, the mantra is ' chop' and clean mouth. Admitting she had a past ' Ojuelegba' life will hurt her image.
You all wey dey chop clean mouth, make una no yab the girl too much, abeg!

PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Nightshift(m): 8:51pm On Jul 23, 2013
Afam4eva: I also noticed that Chime is not a noise maker but this isn't about self praise like other governors do but about advertising the wares of the state. It will be useless for Enugu to have an international airport and people don't get to know about it. But i thank God that due to the world wide web, a lot of people will learn about it.
Gov Chime may also not want to jump the gun by doing as if he is trying to take the praise for the new airport from the president. Nigeria politics is still about personality-cult. The aviation minister's role also comes into question on the advert issue.
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Nightshift(m): 8:35pm On Jul 23, 2013
Gov. Chime is not known for beating loud drums about his state's projects, less for an FGN's. He believes in action than in loud mouth, or in speaking English that fills the mouth( apology to Achebe).
Enugu state govt is likely making some moves , hoping to make Ndigbo proud as usual, when the chips are down. My take though.
Science/TechnologyRe: Picture Of Earth Taken From Saturn by Nightshift(m): 8:07pm On Jul 23, 2013
Callimo: Have you been there? In Bamako now on a 3 day tour to that place "Paye Dogon". What should I look out for and what questions should l ask ?
No, i haven't been to Mali. I read about the Dogons in a science journal. They are a fascinating tribe, their accurate knowledge of the movement of a twin star which wasn't even known to NASA surprised astrologers.
Some dumbfounded Western scientists who couldn't explain the Dogon's intelligence, believed that the Dogons could have had contact with the aliens that helped humans built the Egyptian Pyramids. The theory is that those aliens perhaps passed on to the Dogon some astrological knowledge during their contact.
Science/TechnologyRe: Picture Of Earth Taken From Saturn by Nightshift(m): 6:34pm On Jul 23, 2013
Apart from the Dogon tribe in Mali who have profound knowledge of astrology, no Nigerian tribe has any clue what's going on out there in the universe.
Science/TechnologyRe: Picture Of Earth Taken From Saturn by Nightshift(m): 6:22pm On Jul 23, 2013
I prefer to have a different view : some folks here on NL could actually be souls from planet Saturn. They will all return to Saturn when they die, before starting journey to another planet or star, in a different form.
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Nightshift(m): 8:05pm On Jul 22, 2013
@Nri Priest, onye ife oma na-asa afo, please tell us what happened to proposed Onitsha-Oba airport. Some greedy folks from your part obviously stole the money donated by many Igbo people ( including our own Alhaji Abdulazizi Ude) during its launching ceremony over two decades ago. Imo state got theirs right, while you are here blaming political mavericks from Wawaland for all your mistakes.
Nobody from your state has ever boycotted Enugu airport as a local one; Anambra people will not avoid Enugu as an International Airport in the future.
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Nightshift(m): 6:09pm On Jul 22, 2013
Let the Fed finish the airport first. Smart European airlines whose long nose smell cash from a thousand miles, will definitely figure out how to fly Enugu from their European hubs.
Currently, Lufthansa combines Abuja and Malabo, sometimes Port- Harcourt. In the future it could be Frankfurt- Enugu- Malabo.
Air France could also rollout a Paris-Enugu-Douala flight. It could be a new dawn for Coal city though.

Forget all the imported rice in Nigeria ( most have terrible taste) , Abakaliki rice is one of the most tasty rice in the world. Its taste can be favourably compared to Basmati rice variety.
I equally like the flat landscape of the state with its lush green fields.

PoliticsRe: Anambra State Should Learn From Rivers, Rochas And Orji by Nightshift(m): 12:42am On Jul 14, 2013
Onlytruth: So, your definition of conservatism and liberalism begins and ends with OSU caste system? Hmm I see.
Nwanne OSU caste system is a RELIGIOUS system and has NOTHING with politics. Those who observe it do so for fear of some alusi retribution. Let's always speak the truth rather than trying to score cheap points.

You contradict yourself when you apparently support the notion of abolition of proliferated autonomous communities in Igboland.
If you hate them, why then do you support zoning of important offices based on towns and senatorial zones?
Are we not all Ndigbo again?
Be consistent with your logic. BTW I did not make myself Eze, and my opinions are not supported by all Ndigbo. So sleep well at night. cheesy
I only used one cultural example which is also a political issue. I do not support zoning or any kind of proliferated autonomous communities in Igboland. What i support is borderless Igboland, a situation where an Akwa-Etiti man can own a land and live in Akpugo( vis a vis) without being called a stranger. Where women can inherit from their parents, especially land. Where there is no dichotomy in Igboland.
We are too small to be fighting one another!
PoliticsRe: Anambra State Should Learn From Rivers, Rochas And Orji by Nightshift(m): 12:23am On Jul 14, 2013
Onlytruth: We have no conservatives and liberals in Igboland. We simply have NDIGBO, and we are all equal and shall remain equal till the end of time.
All these attempts to import laziness and excuses culture into Igboland won't work.
We abhor laziness masked as zoning. If anyone contests elections and fails, well, he should try again next time.

I am still your Eze BTW. wink
There have aways been conservatives and liberals in Igboland. For example, the notorious 'OSU' culture is not Igboversal. The liberal villages abhorred and rejected such. Igboland is republican culturally. You aren't my Eze, and will never be one. You can take your northern feudal import to elsewhere. The divide and rule system of autonomous communities first introduced by Mbakwe's government will be history whenever Igboland is independent.
Hitler's solution awaits all the 2000+ traditional rulers and their Eze Ndigbo when the time comes. Pure republicanism must be restored in Igboland!
PoliticsRe: Anambra State Should Learn From Rivers, Rochas And Orji by Nightshift(m): 11:53pm On Jul 13, 2013
Onlytruth: So who has been oppressing who in Anambra state politics-wise?
Unu abiagokwa ozo to introduce this victim mindset into a section of Igboland.

The other day someone said that Nnewi folks "control business", it would not be good if they "also control politics", as if anyone is stopping another from trading and doing business. undecided

One then starts to wonder why we are complaining about Hausa/Fulani control of the center. When we say we want meritocracy at the center, what do we really mean?

You cannot preach against something at the national level and then practice same thing locally.
A neo - conservative sounding more liberal than i. What happened to your 'Eze Ndigbo Nairaland' tag? I was wandering if you are more of an 'Ochanja Onitsha' man than an educated Igboman who lives in the west.
PoliticsRe: A Niger-Delta Village In The 1960s (before Oil) by Nightshift(m): 11:18pm On Jul 13, 2013
Nigeria' s unfortunate corruption culture has oped our environment for abuse and degradation, especially in the oil producing communities. Tropics like ours is a paradise ( minus the mosquitoes) if the environment is nurtured and protected.
PoliticsRe: A Niger-Delta Village In The 1960s (before Oil) by Nightshift(m): 11:06pm On Jul 13, 2013
The mangroves of Niger-Delta were once like the shores of Trinidad and Tobago, the beaches of Bahamas or Barbados of today - pure like in the days of Adam and Eve!

nku5: Imagine if we had through trade managed to obtain oyibo man's technology, managed to stay uncolonised and trade with them... Lots of what ifs
Your ancestors were rather more interested in catching and selling their own kind for bottles of whiskey and schnapps. Their great- grand children ( all born with iniquity) were the NPN, and now PDP; they have continued where their ancestors stopped in a different form.
They look the other way as their century old trade partners destroy our environment, soiling the future of unborn generations of Africans. Environmental hazards are foreign to Africans nature loving people due to modern global capitalist's greed for more money, at the expense of clean environment.
