Wow, this is great news. Just last Sunday, I saw an 18 seater bus and on close inspection, behold it was Innoson, frankly speaking I was very happy and I said to myself I hope the Government will adopt the Innoson brand as Official cars just like the US uses Chevys and Ford Cars. If only this would be implemented to the latter. |

Raila Odinga...the name still sends shivers down my spine till today. Experienced it in 2008, wiped my Final year project draft..I had to retype all over. It was a real menace then in School. Very hard to remove,I had to reformat my system. |

“He slapped me and pushed me, I hit my ear hard on an iron fence by his garden. He started dragging my top (white NYSC vest) and my bosom came out,” Agbo told the Police. “He brought out his hand again and slapped me. He called his manager and assistant to send me out of the premises which they did”. Story too long jor. I thought the new name of the bolded was 'unmentionables'? How come it is now being 'mentioned' ![]() |
plendil: Can you imagine that?? Other than personnel, what exactly do they need so much money for? They don't have any capital expenditure as far as I know.Investigations cost money......lots of it. Suspects will have to be transported from Detention to courts,(flights, fuel for cars) be fed, pay lawyers and other logistic arrangements. Do you know how much it cost the UK to successfully prosecute Ibori.................£14 million (about N3.6billion). Now this is just for 1 person only. Now do a random extrapolation to the numerous 'thieves' we have in this Country.....your guess is as good as mine. As far as I am concerned, no amount is too much to fight corruption. By the way, its funny how a government that wants to fight corruption slashes the funds meant for this very fight but brings up frivolous expenditures like building an extra new banquet hall for the state house (over 2 Billion). An irony I must say. |

Like someone mentioned earlier on, good character is relative and subjective. Op please define good character, from there we can then make our choices. For what its worth, I'll choose good character first, cooking then intimacy |
I sincerely thank all the participants and judges in this debate. You guys did a wonderful job, Kudos!! Much respect goes t̶̲̥̅̊ợ̣̣̇̇̇ Deepsight for his 'deep' analysis of the support 'for state police' I was thrilled by the opening notes of Chedarking...simply awesome. These are fundamental issues that need t̶̲̥̅̊ợ̣̣̇̇̇ be addressed , which until then we may have t̶̲̥̅̊ợ̣̣̇̇̇ wait. I still remain of the opinion that Nigeria , as she is now is not ready yet for state police . Deepsight mentioned in his post and I quote "We cannot have a State Judiciary and State Department of Public Prosecutions without a State enforcement Unit." My question is.. t̶̲̥̅̊ợ̣̣̇̇̇ what extent have these individual state judiciary and prosecution team been effective . Haven't they still be used by the State chief Executives to do their selfish biddings? The state judiciary is it not answerable t̶̲̥̅̊ợ̣̣̇̇̇ the Attorney General of the state (correct me if wrong) , who is appointed by the Governor? Even if the above points were tackled , how about funding? How do we expect in place an efficient 'state police' funded by the Federal government? Case in point was the Agro between Lagos and the Fg then under Obasanjo, what would have been the fate of the Lagos 'state police' when their monthly funds were wit held, I guess they would have been grounded. Imagine Borno state has its allocation being witheld for that period of time and being absolutely dependent on the Fg for their funds and having the current security situation on ground.I fear t̶̲̥̅̊ợ̣̣̇̇̇ imagine it, how about you? What happens t̶̲̥̅̊ợ̣̣̇̇̇ their police, how will they be tackle their security situation |

I must say that I'm disappointed in majority of the comments commending the Governor for assaulting the PHCN official. We shouldn't sacrifice good reasoning/judgment at the alter of sentiments. Its quite understandable, peoples frustrations in the hands of PHCN but then should we throw away the baby with the dirty water? If there was a failure on the part of PHCN,what the governor would have done was to follow approved channels to seek redress/better services. The PHCN staff was not employed by the governor infact he is a public servant like the Governor. The governor has no right to query the staff let alone lay his hands/koboko on him. Human right Organizations should take this up and he should be sued his a** off. Oh I forgot,he has immunity from prosecution. I have always opined that immunity should be stripped off public officials .I rest my case |
