It's hard to believe Nigeria is broke, each time I read the news... Billions or close to billion is being looted.

It's hard to see Nigeria public office holder that steals 1m or 10m, these guys are always on billions or 300-900m least.

Until there's public executions for looters in Nigeria, nothing will change till the end of the world.

Nigeria is the only country in the world that borrows money to loot.

You seem to be someone who is fixated on lyrical content...music is not just about lyrics.
It's all about the melody 🎶 for some people.

Vector, MI are examples of musicians with dope lyrical content but they probably will never get the popularity of an Asake or kizz Daniel why do you think that is?
Music was all about good lyrical content before Gen-Z.

Good morning N'Landers,

So I was hungry, wify and my two kids have travelled to their home town since Saturday, and would be back this Saturday..

I don't know how to cook, I always leave that to my woman, she's a great cook, I don't want to learn it, because I want to continue appreciating her food..

I've some tubers of yam 🍠 at home and decided to cook one out of it...

It being like 12years I ate yam and palm oil, that was when I had my NYSC in Akwa Ibom (Nung ikono obio).

No gree this year for anybody wey say make you over spend or do pass yourself..
Baba you cooked this not because you lack the money or managing... It's simply because you can't cook 😂 stop disguising

I schooled in in the North (Abuja to be precise )when I was growing up and I will tell you this for free; even a Jss3 grandpa of northern origin in public schools can't read or struggle to.

It's norm here. We can easily put the figures at 90 percent. Only students brushed up from private schools mostly display intelligence.
Lol, north... Even ss3 there are lots of them struggling to read.

It's hard to see an Hausa who was born and raised in the north who can read in their jss days.

So, development must stop because Abuja is "more developed" than any other state?

N50Bn is too poor for any state in Nigeria talkless of Abuja. You may Google the capital expenditure budget of states in other comparable countries to get a better perspective of how poor and broke we are.

Also note that maintenance of old infrastructure requires money too.

What we should monitor is if the funds are well utilized or looted.
You and me know that money, large percentage of it will be looted.

You called calling people's creativities 'nonsense' and wacks critique? Do U even know the basic meaning of that word? That quote of yours has nothing to do with critism but an attempt to downplay other people's ideas and God given gifts. But trust me people that troops in to Nairaland these days can not engage in a civil conversation. See how U came out to always prove us silent readers right. All iz well

Do U know where these guys started from or what they av been through before they hit the space? Have U ever created something that worth adoring or interesting by others? Piece of advice to U my friend "stop playing bad belle" it's not healthy. I come in peace o..
If critique is "bad balle" to you, then you have a long way to go in life.

Folks like you are the type that remains stagnant in life because you pay deaf ears to corrections.

In all honesty, this current generation lack taste for music.

Seems music left Nigeria from 2008-2010.

I'm stuck with 90s music, Gen-Z music na crap.

The worse I'm seeing lately is shalipopo and odumudu black... Nigeria music has gone this bad with wack lyrics.

If Grammy was truly by merit, no Nigeria musician currently deserves shxt, in fact for the past 10 years, none deserve shxt.

Wizkid, Davido, Burna boy are all media hype and heck mentality. These guys are craps musically without media hypes. They wouldn't survive 90s and early 2000

They said PDP misruled Nigeria for 16 years, Nigerians hand over to APC and they successfully did 50 years damaged to Nigeria in just 8 years.

Imagine a bag of rice rising from 7/8k to 60k in less than 8 years... That's like the worse recession in the world.

Nigeria is heading to doom, a bag of rice may cost 200k+ before 2027.

I was at La campagne Tropicana with my family for a weekend out 2yrs ago, apart from the beach being too far from Lagos and the services there being over priced, that place is a heaven on earth. Very clean beach with a lot of waves, palm trees and monkeys just full every where, met one popular nollywood actor, IK Ogbonna who came to chill out with his Asian looking girlfriend. As he see me, na so he begins dodge.
It's one of the best I've visited in Lagos... You're right about the overpriced, everything is just expensive. Distance sef, it cost me 30k Tfair to and fro with Uber.

Landmark is overrated. It is no more as it used to be in the past..... More like a past glory thing... No waves at all, and you will pay for everything at high price and not taking in even water......
I am very sure that most beach around VI don't have that natural waves anymore......it's like a swimming pool, just stagnant.... The joy of a beach is to see that waves..... Instead go for any other beach in Lekki......

Are u in Lagos? Let me take you to Landmark beach instead
Of all the beaches in Lagos I've visited, the only beach in Lagos that still have strong waves is Elegushi Beach. The rest are like man-made beaches.

La campagne Tropicana beach still remains the most beautiful.

Start up paying you 300k? Is it oil company? 😂

Funding will run out and lay off is inevitable, and your position will be the first set of folks to go.

If it was a tech company and you have a valuable skill, I'd say you take the job.

A startup paying anyone 300k have no clue of business. Start with 100-150k and increase when you start seeing consistent progress.

Fellow Nairalanders,

I'm pleased to wish you a Happy New Year!!

2024 will be the year of Nairaland's resurgence. I will face Nairaland squarely like I used to before the discouraging Data Loss Incident of 2014. I will hire more hands to help us to improve Nairaland.

The problems of Nairaland that we should have solved years ago will be solved.

* We will defeat tribalists, trolls, & spammers.
* We will complete our advertising platform.
* We will improve the UI and UX.
* Home page topics will be educative & fresh.
* We will reverse the anti-women trends.

However, I must warn you that things will get worse before they get better. Please stand with us and fight for u as Nairaland faces the tough challenges of 2024, which have already started.

Happy New Year and thanks for using Nairaland!

Seun Osewa,
Nairaland's Founder.
