TokyoBulls: I am interested.Ok. I will need an email address to forward comprehensive details.Either drop it here Or you can send me an email at uyi@strategy200.com If you feel its something you can definitely be a part of, we will discuss more and take it up from there. Looking forward to working on this with you. |
I have a very lucrative project that would run from 20th August 2012 to 5th November 2012. Budget outlay for the project is estimated at 1.4 - 1.6 Million Naira. Expected returns at the end of the three month period is anywhere between 600-800%. ie On an investment of 1.5 Million Naira, we expect a return of between 9-12 Million Naira by 5th,November 2012. I need either 5 Partners who can invest 250,000 Naira each. Expected returns of 400% = 1 Million Naira each by 5th of November. or 4 Partners who can invest 300,000 Naira each. Expected returns of 400% = 1.2 Million Naira each by 5th of November. or 3 Partners who can invest 400,000 Naira each. Expected returns of 400% = 1.6 Million Naira each by 5th of November. I need partners who have not just the ability to put in money but the capacity to monitor as well as motivate through the course of the project. ABOUT PROJECT For obvious reasons, I can't give out full details of the project here. However, I would use a few words below to point a clue. *Business Persons/Professionals/Government Officials* *International Event* *Delegation* *Networking/Partnerships* Interested partners would get full details. The project is full proof with guaranteed returns. Ran it on a smaller scale in February 2012. Was extremely successful. The level of success of the project is determined mainly by timing, reach and financial input. The more time on the cards, the more capacity for reach. Returns As stated, the expected returns is between 600-800%. That is 9-12 Million Naira on an investment of 1.5 Million by the end of the Project which is Nov 5th 2012. Partners will get a guaranteed 400% which amounts to between 1- 1.6 Million Naira depending on input. Subject to discussions, if we exceed our targeted returns, a percentage share formula would be used to share the excess. Extra Benefits *400% + returns on Investment *Possible opportunity to attend an international event that would expose you to extraordinary partnerships. *Possibility of partnering on subsequent projects that would have better better long term returns. *Very importantly, the opportunity to partner on something that is worthwhile. Besides the financial benefits that would accrue, this is a project that would give you a good sense of responsibility and also expand your knowledge on the workings of certain industry segments. Modus Operandi Simple. Indicate interest. We communicate. If we feel we can work together, We have a one on one meet. We get to know. Then we have a group meet. Then we finalize the project outline. Then project kicks off. Budget implementation is progressive, so investments could be installmental. Interested parties should either indicate interest below or send an email to uyi@strategy200.com for more comprehensive details. Finally, a few questions. . . Why not go this alone? ANS:Timing & Motivation. I like the motivation that comes with working with, on and for a team. As for timing, the project came at a time I'm not as bouyant as I would normally be to finance it single handedly. Given a few weeks extra, I could go it alone, but that would hamper a successful run. Why Nairaland? ANS: I am motivated by Kickstarter.com. I love what happens there. The whole crowdfunding concept is thrilling. So why not here. How can the returns be so high in a short period? Because its a unique service offering targeted at folks who need it badly. The margins are healthy. And literally full proof. NB. I know there would be skeptics. I actually like the motivation that comes with skepticism, so feel free to express!! |
100,000 inspirational books. You can do that with ease. I'd go for ambush marketing. Go where those seeking inspiration gather in millions!! Plan for December. Set up massive attractive outlets at campgrounds of Nigeria's Mega Churches. An estimated 10 million+ people, majority of which seek inspiration gather at these events in December. You would get a good number sold here, as long as you aren't se.xxxual inspiration!! |

If you don't get any, you can use a virtual office. There are many in Lagos. Just use google or better still dealfish and you'll find something. |
@Air Lord So you never got anybody to invest in you since February. I like your detail. You know your salt. It surely isn't a business I'll like to go into, but I'd love to support you one way or the other. The food business would do you better. How about the location. You didn't state anything about renting on your budget list. |
tobicool: I understand how you feel. I have not given up on my exploits. I was expecting to have raised half of N180,000 but somethings cropped up and took almost all I have been able to raise so far which is not even close to half of that amount.I've followed this thread from the onset. You missed it when you got carried away by the whole SMS thingy. What you failed to see is that every Tom, Jerry and Barney are into this business already and there is really no extra service offering you would add that would make your offer stand out. You had this Akara joint idea. You would have been smiling better if you did that. Trust me. Anything that people need on a daily basis would always fetch you better income than things people rarely need especially one which everybody is already selling. I call it Pull vs Push strategy. In some businesses you pull the customers to you while in others you have to push really hard. SMS marketing might be good, but I'd rather sell Akara!! |
wrexs: @Beaf...and why should the citizenry be the one solving the problem for the Government. what is the essence of having a Governement if they cant solve /profer solutions to problems threatening the lives of the people that elected them into power? Being a C-in-C gives such person the power to take decision that protects his people and not begging/intimating oppositions for advise or even pointing fingers at them...if you cant handle it, simply quit.I now understand you guys. OK. The citizenry's duties is to spoil the country while Government's duty is to repair it? No. If you had understanding of what makes great countries, you would have known that citizen participation is the most critical factor that influences development. There is a strong correlation between citizen participation and community development. It is not the governments responsibility to solve problems. Its is the Governments responsibility to coordinate our effort at solving problems. It is your type that expects government to put food on peoples tables. |
Icecold Don: If Bakare really hated Jonathan, then why did his SNC fight for him and y can't dat give him d right to criticize??Bakare didn't fight for Jonathan. The man is an opportunist. He thought Jonathan was dull and would never have the courage to seek election. So he felt if they can support Jonathan, then their chances at power might me made simpler. He read wrongly as Jonathan is appearing like the next most strategic* Nigerian politician after OBJ. If you want to get a clearer picture, look at his fellow midget friend, El Rufai. The man supported Jonathan thinking Jonathan would make him Vice President. He even insulted Buhari as an old hag that should live the field for the younger generation. As soon as Sambo was announced as Vice, his disposition started changing. Bakare is an example of a failure. A prophet whose prophecies never come to be. A lawyer who doesn't practice law. A politician who lost his own polling station in the presence of his wife to a man he insults everyday. Such people love to afflict others with their own sadism. Bakare is a sad man and he wants all of us to be sadists too. I refuse. |
Family matters. What we should be discussing is state matters. Lets leave the family to handle their family palaver!! |
While it sounds like a good deal, it will benefit only one segment of the country. If this bill would allow Igbos and Yorubas in Sokoto to establish businesses and churches where they deem free as well as allow Fulani herdsmen purchase land (commercial pricing) for grazing anywhere they deem free then that would be fine. But if it designed only to allow a section of the country access to greener areas, then it would only serve as an accessory to more and more violence. |
The same determination required to bring about economic success is the same determination required to bring about success in about any other field Olympics inclusive. Its about the strength of mind of the people and their capacity for sheer determination as well as intense competition. |
hillsate: Hmm see what money can do.They do?? I was once a fan of these two men. But,They are the biggest disappointment to all short people worldwide. I sincerely think Bakare has a slight mental issue as a result of his electoral defeat. Nothing is harder than voting in your own polling booth and seeing your opponent take all the votes and you have little or nothing left. El Rufai on the other hand is an extremely shameless dude and has reduced himselt to a northern bigt. Visit his facebook page and see how people who joined him because they once loved him, now pummel the living day light out of his pages with insults and curses upon his head. ONE BIG QUESTION FOR THESE TWO GUYS: In the last one year what have they done for their immediate environmental- have they sought to impact the children in their vicinity or mentored others to just be better at whatever they do. I see a lot of Nigerians competing everyday to make things get better and yet all I see is these two midgets frustrating the populace with their pathetic misinformation etc. |
LagosShia: i sincerely thought it was non-muslims that were being harassed/arrested for not fasting.i didn't pay attention to know they are muslims because of the way christians are whining in this thread.Go back to that thread and you'll find one interesting difference between Christians and muslims. The majority of people who condemned and insulted Oyedepo were christains. They rattled on him for simply slapping a woman. Muslims on the other hand are very economical with their condemnation of Boko Haram. Rather than condemn Boko Haram you hear people talk about poverty and dialogue. It baffles every sane non muslim. This is where Muslims are failing the religion of Islam and doing it so much harm. Except the air is populated with the ideals of Liberal Islam, unless the silent majority rises up and populates the air with a peaceful version of Islam like we have in Turkey, then I feel sorry because in the next generation there would be little or nothing left of the religion. Go study historic patterns and you'll find that violent Islam has the potential to exterminate the religion. |
Islam. Time is ticking. Unless there is some kind of change or perhaps quasi-modernization in the religion, the next natural line is extinction. The children(especially the females) of the current generation would by virtue of the internet be exposed to other forms of worship and begin to ask questions. Why is my religion the only one throwing bombs. Why are we the only ones that suppress women. Why are almost all our countries at some kind of war? Why is everything by force. Why don't we have any brilliant countries that create technologies or promote advancement? As they grow older, Slowly and steadily they would begin to disconnect. They would pass that disconnection to their children and in a moment, the religion would begin to vanish from the surface of planet earth. Except the voice of peace in Islam gets louder than the voice of violence. Islam as it is cannot survive freedom of existence. Liberal Muslims must as a matter of urgency take over the space and populate the air with a voice of peace in such a way that it drowns the voice of force and violence that has pervaded Islam in the last decade. @Topic It beat me how Kano state is able to run a quasi police force and at the same time feels like state police should not be followed through across Nigeria. |
Disadvantages of being good looking: Expectatiopns, Expectations, Expectations. People expect you'd talk and act in certain ways. You either meet up or your goodlookingness falls flat on its feet in a second. Imagine an extremely pretty chic in a croaky voice speaking witha very broken Accent. Or a good looking guy stuttering in speech and with a body odour. Now, with average looking person, we assume that comes with the territory hence it would not matter much, but with a good looking person, the pseudo definition sticks faster. |
airmark: http://dailytimes.com.ng/article/nigerian-player-dies-during-match-romaniaAs in Today sunday, probably this afternoon? And the news is already out here!! Social media!!! I hope his family don't get to see the news online before they hear from whoever should be telling them! That would be more than devastating! Sad. |
Islam is a religion of peace. Yes I know. Boko Haram is a peaceful organization in the mould of the Red Cross or Salvation Army. Almajiris exist because Niger Delta Gets 13% revenue derivation. All the Muslim beggars in front of Churches usually go there on sundays as an act of solidarity with christians. Boko Haram throws bombs in churches just like Christains throw fireworks in churches during christmas. Lets stop accusing Boko Haram and Islam. Rather They should be given a nobel peace prize! |
ayobase: Some top officials lost their jobs due to calling government to order.Ayobase. Nigeria has to move on. PHCN or NEPA is not about the thousands of workers that earn a living there. It is about the millions of Nigeria the need energy for their daily lives. We don not need the people that understand the old system. The old system has been a set back. We need people with a new frame of mind. We saw what a totally new system did in the telecom sector and the banking sector. NITEL could not even use the free license they got on MTEL to generate 1 Kobo, despite all the assets and leverages they. GLO, a fully owned Nigerian company is generating billions of dollars despite starting from scratch. We sympathise with the NEPA officials that might loose their jobs in the thousands, but we are more interested in the millions of new jobs and the better lives that improved power supply would result in and we can only get that done in the private sector. If Government sees competent operators to dash NITEL to free of charge, if they will give us more power we would be glad!! |
ayobase: PHCN is just a name in view of privatization....I was fully aware when threading. How does Government withdraw without privatization?? How? |
I was travelling recently on a QATAR Airways flight and was looking for good music to listen to. I couldn't find any that I loved until I stumbled on Femi Kuti's collection. I played "Do your best and Leave the rest" almost throughout the flight. The guy is just great> He learnt well from the best: FELA! |
VALUE IS NOT HOW MUCH YOU INVESTED IN SOMETHING. IT IS WHAT PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO PAY FOR IT AT THE TIME YOU WANT TO SELL IT. Assume you buy a Ferrari for 50 million Naira say 5 years ago and you couldn't really use it because of poor Nigerian roads. You are now broke and want to sell it to solve a cringing problem. Now will you value that car at the same 50 million Naira you bought it?? No Truth is you will sell it to the closest price that would offset your problem even if that price is 2 million Naira. PHCN can never be worth 25 trillion. Not now!! Not even in Zimbabwean dollars. If that were its worth, we would have more than enough electricity that even our grasses would shock. Actually PHCN should be valued in the negative... more like minus 25 trillion. To those workers that have punished us with their incompetence, the Nigerian people want you guys to go back to your village and farm. Our electricity would now be generated by new blood. . . . young upwardly mobile fellows like we have in the telecoms and banking sectors. |
If you don't have a store, clothing can be very bad business. You get very tempted to sell on credit and you never get paid back in full and if at all you money would be broken in pieces. Laptops and Tablets are good, but the big question is how do you compete with established outlets who buy in bulk and offer lower prices? To identify what is best to import, look for items that are needed in high demand and yet have no saturation. A good example in line with the items you've mentioned, would be security systems. |
You would need to be specific on the kinds of export products you refer to. No website would provide prices for all export products. Be specific. |
To decide what kind of business to start and be successful at it, you must consider a few things. Your skill set: What have you got training for. Not just academic training but also experiential training. What are you very good at? What do you excel most in? Your personality type: Your personality type would go a long way in impacting on the success of any business you choose to involve in. Extroverts do better at marketing. Introverts are better at administration. Your Networks: What can you offer your friends, Family and acquaintances. These people would naturally form your first clients. Your environment: Your environment must have use for the product or service you are offering. You cannot sell winter jackets in Lagos. |
Tolaaaaannni: Why is it that nigerians are busy helping build other countries, but could care less about building their own?? This isn't so loyal.Because they know that there is nothing like Nigeria. It is we the people that think there is a country called Nigeria. Truth be told, it barely exists and they know it. To be fair, its not only politicians buying up properties in Dubai. Regular hard working business people are doing same too. Interestingly and this too me is the crux, world class properties are way cheaper in Dubai than in that trap called Lagos. It only makes sense to buy a well built fully furnished sea view apartment in Dubai for $500,000 than to buy a plot of Land in Lekki on an untarred road for 80 million Naira. |
Pataki: DUNCE ALERT AGAIN!!!!!Really?? So when a Father has two sons and one is a criminal and one is a saint, what do you call him?? A Failuresucess?? |
Not2bee: @papabrown ur contribtn is well appreciatd.i was lookg towards importn of buildn materials or a standard bar/club laterNice. Regarding building materials, I would advice you attend an International industry specific tradeshows. I've been at many and I always come back with loads of info and opportunities. Use google to identify excellent exhibitions to attend. TheBig5 Building and Construction exhibition is coming up in dubai in November. There you can get interesting partnerships. Wish you the best and extraordinary success in your endeavor. |

1)Importation Nigeria is a consumer country. One of the biggest priorities for the aspiring Nigerian is to build a house. I will attend a trade show in China, Turkey or Dubai and get direct dealerships from manufacturers that would enable me import unique building materials at very competitive prices. I will rent a warehouse and get the best hands to market these items. Since I have direct dealerships, I will offer the best prices. To be successful in such a short while, I would have to find ways to offer more value to potential clients than the competition offers. For instance, instead of selling only, we could offer free installation if you buy above a certain quantity. 2)Start a Mid Sized Modern Bakery Nigerians love bread. Majority of us eat Bread everyday. Infact, if you look at statistics coming out of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nigerians imported almost $5 Billion worth of wheat last year. By any count, Bread is big business. I would start a 3000 loaves per day bakery. At 200 Naira per loaf, that should see you net a turnover of 600,000 Naira daily = 12 million Naira per month(20 working days). If we assume a profit margin of 20% which is standard, that amounts to 2.4 million monthly. In one year that is N28 Million approx- a profit of 16 million after you return the loan. Might not be this straight forward, but you can make much more or much less depending on you sagacity. |
10 Million Naira to pay back in one year....Ok let me see what I will do with it! 1)Importation Nigeria is a consumer country. One of the biggest priorities for the aspiring Nigerian is to build a house. I will attend a trade show in China, Turkey or Dubai and get direct dealerships from manufacturers that would enable me import unique building materials at very competitive prices. Three drinks come to mind. 1)Kunu 2)Zobo 3)Palm wine Ever wonder how popular these drinks are and yet no company is producing these in commercial quantity. How can we leave these wonderful drinks to the vagaries of the uneducated mind. These drinks would give anybody who bottles them in fine packs a huge income stream. First there would be no competition just like gala had for ages. Secondly, the products are are extremely popular and would sell themselves. Palm wine would do well in the south and the other two drinks would do well up north and a little bit too in the south. Big income earner. The quake though is in fermentation. One would have to overcome the issue with readily available technologies. 4) 5) 6) 7) I will fill the rest later. I'm tired. |
UYO and CALABAR. I think your selection of cities is in order. And the reasons in my opinion are these: 1)The residents of these towns are not very business inclined therefore untapped opportunities abound in comparison to PH,Aba and the likes. 2)Uyo has so much oil money. Calabar does so well with Tourism. The kind of business you would do should depend largely on your expertise and capacity. Get into areas you have better understnading on. Don't start a business because everybody thinks its a what is raining. However, these few areas I would mention below would never let you down. 1) Any Food related business- Everybody eats, so there is always money in food. 2) Retail. Retail is good. If you sell FMCGs in a good location, you are bound to make it. 3) Light Manufacturing(items in high demand): Produce items that are in high demand. Finally, any business you engage in must seek to add value as well as improve on the existing competition. |
