felixomor: Oh i can see. You are not used to the bible, Let me help you connect it.
The Phillipian Church collected money regularly from its church members and kept sending it to the Apostle Paul And Paul acknowledged it that for them it was a sacrifice well pleasing unto God
He even went ahead to pray for them in Verse 19 (the famous "My God shall supply" )
So you got it now? Paul was actually in need of the money as at that time. He was into Evangelizing the gospel moving from one country to another. Such movement requires money and support. The money was not meant for his flamboyant lifestyle if he had any. Even with that, Paul was a poor man. He never accumulated wealth. No buildings acredited to him, no riches. He was satisfied spreading the gospel. Now what is the gospel? The gospel requires that he convert Non christians (people of other religions) into christianity, as christianity was a new religion then with very few adherents . But what are your pastors doing today? First of all, they are not converting non christians, they are not doing the job yet they are enriching themselves, living a flamboyant lifestyle, accumulating wealth, buying private jet, travelling to Dubai with the money meant for the job. Why? Because christianity is grown now, so they feel that the job is already done. But that's a lie Billions of people are still without Christ and need to be converted. Atheists, Buddhists, traditionalists, Muslims, name them... Now, if your pastors keep continue like this with this their flamboyant lifestyle and distortion of church members who will want to come to Christ? You see how your pastors are blocking people from entering the kingdom? Surely, God is visiting them secretly, what they are seeing, they can't talk Now, the viable means to convert non christians remains meeting the needs of the poor as Daddy freeze is doing now Love is now the greatest tool Not mere preaching on pulpit |

Not smoking or drinking or fornicating or all sort of rubbish is simply observing the law which is good. But your body being a temple for Christ is far supercedes the law. Even churches have their laws, tithing may be one of them. But It is not until you keep laws that makes you qualified. We were all justified by faith. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Please Lead Me Back To God by paxonel(m): 5:30pm On Dec 12, 2017 |
idobolo: Good day all.
I do not intent to bore you guys with my story. I need urgent advice and help from the Pastors and Evangelists in the house.
I was not born into a Christian family, although my dad told me he was a dedicated Christian before he decided to go the other way (being a native doctor). So I didn't grow up as a church goer.
When I was in primary school, I used to have this group of Jehovah Witnesses, who usually come to study the bible with me. They introduced Christianity to me. They taught me how to study the bible. By the time I got to secondary school, I developed the habit of studying the bible on my own. I so much loved the teachings especially the New Testament. I made sure I apply the bible principles in my daily life even though I was not attending any church. This really helped me to the extent I was always referred to as a good and responsible boy both at home and in school.
Later on, I would sometimes follow my neighbours to church - this my dad was not happy with. In one of the church services, I had an experience during worship, my body changed. I could feel a kind of cool breeze and suddenly, I became so light that I could not stand, and I found myself on the floor. Up to today, I can not really tell what it was.
Not long, I stopped attending church because my dad was not happy with it. But I continued my personal bible study and fortunately, another group of Jehovah Witnesses started visiting me.
After my WAEC, I had a dream. In this dream, I saw myself standing in front of our house, thinking of what to do since I was done with my secondary education. Suddenly, a ladder came down from the sky and its base was just directly in front of me. When I looked up, I saw someone coming down from the ladder. I was so scared. He was coming to me and I thought of running away. Suddenly, there was this bright light behind me. It was so bright that I was like a small object at the centre. I was frightened, I wanted to know the source of the light but I could not turn my head to look back. As I was struggling to turn my head, the man from the ladder was so closed to me and I suddenly woke up from the sleep. I keep remembering this dream even after so many years. I didn't tell any one and I keep wondering what it means.
When I entered university, I started hustling and mingling with different kinds of people. Gradually, I lost interest in the bible and things concerning church. I started having girlfriends and living a wayward life. It was so bad to the extent that I started patronising prostitutes. When ever I don't have money for prostitutes, I would masturbate. Even before I graduated from school, masturbation was like a hubby to me.
Fast forward to today, I am married with two lovely kids (girls). Gradually I have been able to stop masturbation although I seldomly patronise prostitutes.
The truth is that I am not happy with my life. Things are not the way they ought to be. I keep thinking of death. I keep imagining if I die now where will I be. I need help as soon as possible. I want to repent from my sins and serve God before I leave this earth. I am so scared of dying without Christ. It seems I cannot help myself. I feel so ashamed with myself. My major problem is that I don't even know where to go and who to meet. I cant pray. My heart seems hardened. I see pastors as scammers but I know Jesus is real. I am so confused. Could it be that the dream I had then was a sign or just meaningless?
I need serious deliverance.
I need help to retrace my steps back to God
Please Pastors and Evangelists in the house help. The solution to your problem is not in this part of the world, unfortunately you were born and brought up here in Africa but you still need someone who can put you through to understand your bible but there is no one like that in Africa. Perhaps that was part of the reason why your daddy prevented you from attending church . If you had understood what you were reading in your bible you would have no reason to mingle with bad friends in the university. Even some of the bad friends were from christian homes too, who never understood their bible some of which ttheir parents may be pastors, elders, deacons in church but no one was teaching them scriptures. Because no pastor in Africa understand bible . It's as simple as that. If you can have your way out of this country and leave these black monkey pastors to go and study abroad and be back that will be far better than anything else for you But if cannot afford that i will advice that you forget religion, make new real friends(not church friends o),be relevant to other people's lives irrespective of their status or disposition and enjoy your life. Life is sweeter than church or religion |

Jochabed: Tithe is delicate, God said bring ur tithe to my house, so that there can be food. God himself will have to tell u too give it to someone else or a charity.Freeze is a total joke, he has no regard for God,how then can he regard tithe as something valuable. You are the house of God as far as christianity is concern. Your body is God's temple. God is not interested in that building you called church that you go every Sunday to pay tithe. If you give that your tithe money to the poor understand that you are giving to his house like that because that poor person is also the house. Come to think of it, it is more sensible to place value to fellow human being than to place value to a religious building and all it ordinances and pastors that will collapse some day |

When you want to understand The Scripture "with huge intelligence and thinking" instead of through the power of The Holy Spirit, why won't you see white korokoro and call it black? Identity the white kororo that i called black in my post through your holy spirit let's see. Failure to do that now, you have made mokery of the holy spirit and God will somehow visit you. When you write a subject that you did not read and understand do you call the holy spirit to help you pass the subject? If that is what you do, certainly you will fail the subject, and that is Gods visit and punishment to you for refusing to read to your understanding. This is exactly what is happening to you Africans. Inability to read and understand by yourself with the hope of holy spirit giving you inspiration to understand or refusal to read at all. Where did you see it written that as Christians we can stay home and not go to church ?
All these agents of Satan parading as Christians It's people like you that will quick to crucify Jesus. People who crucified Jesus in his time were religious people like you. They observed the sabbath and go to the temple regularly, pay and collect tithes, Yet the same people say Jesus was agent of Satan just like you are telling me now. They are quick to label people Satan when they do not go along with their religious ideology. Meanwhile they are the ones lacking in understanding, perhaps it is their African primitive mentality But what did Jesus teach that was quite different from that of the Pharisees who were religious people? John 4:21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall NEITHER in this mountain(place where Samaritans gather to worship), NOR yet at Jerusalem(Solomon temple at Jerusalem where the Jews gather to worship), worship the Father. THE HOUR OR TIME HAS COME, IT IS NOW!! John 4:21 is a dog, if you like beware of it as you have always been doing,at the end you are the one that is being defrauded by pastors in church in the name of tithe. but not all christians mumu like that. Remember Jesus also destroyed the temple in 3 days, the disciples were busy admiring temple building like Nigerians admiring their church buildings. Matthew 24 You Nigerians Una mumu o Na God go deliver Una from religion. White people brought christianity to Africa,Britain is not half religious as you Africans . Things are working fine for them while the African society is in a state of quagmire Nigerian christians are not different from the Pharisees, only that they believe in Christ and are saved that's the only good thing about them. |

1. You say i ignored your OP to discuss pastors. Is this not one of your comment in your OP? You : It is very important to note that we are not Tithing to pastors but to Christ our High Priest.
You mentioned pastors in your post, when i mention pastors too in response you start attacking me And how does that interprets to discussing Pastors. The reason why i said that is because, those who don't Pay Tithe, have the believe that Tithe is Paid to Pastors which is not true.
The sacrifices you take to the shrines, who are you sacrificing to? Isn't it to the gods you go to consult? but who eats the substance? Isn't it the Medium through which the god relates to you? Does the Native Doctors throw the goats and chickens you take to them for sacrifices?
Good News Translation 1 Corinthians 9:13-14 Surely you know that the men who work in the Temple get their food from the Temple and that those who offer the sacrifices on the altar get a share of the sacrifices.
[b] In the same way, the Lord has ordered that those who preach the gospel should get their living from it..
If you have a problem with Pastors eating from Tithes and offerings, pls take it up with Jesus.
You are writing plenty things without being conscious of the ones you wrote previously thinking that no one can identify your error in the midst of your plenty posts? Search yourself. It's not about writing plenty plenty it's about writing sensibly. Talk is cheap, point out my errors.
2. You say you did not attack me? When i posted this Me:When pastors tell church members if you don't pay tithe then you are robbing God, what do you call that,is that not compulsion?
This was your first response
You: Lolzzz. This thread is not for Children pls...
Even if my comment was childish the least you should have done was to correct me first before saying so. It was after you called me children that you then quoted Malachi to say that it was God that threatened me not pastors. Next time endeavor to correct people's childish comments before saying they are children or it amount to attack, because at the end your Malachi you quoted did not prove my response was childish, I gave my reason quoting Hebrews 11,that I'm a christian so malachi's threats will not possibly be God threatening today christians. And pastors should not use Malachi to be God. When i sensed that you got offended by that, i apologized, didn't i?
Are you a partaker of the Abrahamic Promise or not? Is Abraham a New Covenant Patriarch?
If you claim you are a Christin so the Old Testament shd be trashed, how did you get connected to the Promise God made to Abraham to Bless the nations him?
Having this discussions with you guys, i'm beginning to sense lies and dishonesty.
If you are a Christian without roots in the old Testament, then you are lying to yourself. No one can be a Christian without having roots in the OT.
So beware of these men of God. As much as i don't support any man of God who misappropriates God's money, but at the same time, i can't get involve in what they do. Their misconducts will not lead me to sin by what i say. God will not hold you guiltless if you sin because they sinned.
Listen. You see what is going on right now and you guys think you are doing God a service? You had better not sin in the process, because, it will be held against you.
The Sons of Eli, Hophni and Phenehas, were every where misappropriating God's ordinances. Right in the Temple, they were having sex with women who went to offer sacrifices. They made light of Gods sacrifices and treated the Israelites badly.
The people complained, God did nothing about it, Eli did nothing about. But, the people of God didn't stop doing to Shiloh to offer their sacrifices because the Sons of Eli where the ones in charge of the offerings and were using them as they liked. They still went and did their part by giving what was required of them.
When the iniquities of Eli's sons was complete, God wiped them off completely.
Don't think you know how better to fight God's Battle.
If the pastors are using Gods money to buy Jets, do you think, God doesn't know or see? Who is then eating the tithe money if not pastors? OK o, The only root that connects me to old testament is that, it was through old testament that new testament or new covenant came from . I'm not interested in all what happened in the old testament, how God purnished people who criticized his prophets and so on. I'm interested in Christ In Christ there is no distinction among adherents we are all one. If you like call yourself man or God or daddy whatever if you practice evil you go for it. Tithe is one evil that has been cheating the church for years, gradually it will soon come to an end. People are gradually knowing the truth |

MuttleyLaff: 11We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. 12In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. - Hebrews 5:11-14
Some Jews were still paying or giving tithes to the Levites after the victory at Calvary merely because of the sake that the temple still existed
What you mentioned is one of the other parts, of the why was tithe mentioned in Hebrews Chapter Seven It is going to be too long-winded going into details Most readers dont like long posts, as it turns into information overload for them Yeah, that's true! MuttleyLaff: That right there, is the WHY She wants to know for what reason or purpose was tithe mentioned six times in Hebrews Chapter Seven well its partly because, if not all or most, some clearly uninformed Hebrews, were ignorantly paying or giving tithes That's not the reason tithe were mentioned in those new testament scriptures. There is no record that early christians in the new testament knowingly or ignorantly paid tithe. The reason tithe were mentioned in those scriptures was to affirm the superiority of the christian faith or Grace over over the law(especially the Jewish laws). And you know tithing was part of the Jewish laws |
