God bless the man of God (Bishop Oyedepo) and his ministry. So you that pass jamb what is the difference between these kind of prophesies with promises? Let's take the no 1 prophecy as a case study. Bishop oyedepo says that (I quote) very day of 2018 shall be Christmas for you There shall be no mourning in your family all through 2018 Is this not a good promise? I wish that good promises like these should go to all his followers listening to him. But this is not realistic like i said. It is not possible that everyday of 2018 will be Christmas for all winners members listening to him, yet everyone are shouting amen including those that will be bankrupt It is not possible that there will be no mourning in the family of every winners members in 2018,yet those that will loose their love ones are included among those that are shouting Amen! With this, the prophecy is already a failed one Nigerians when Una won get sense? |

he is praying or wishing us well this 2018 so if u don't need it pack well make I pass go collect my own and your own blessing. It is good to wish us well, But mere wishes like these don't solve problems to Nigerians. Nigerians need education and hard work. Otherwise, wishes will still be coming year after year. We had one in 2015 the country was bad, another wishes in 2016 by these same pastors the country because worse. 2017 came with the biggest wishes yet it was the worst year for Nigerians. CHARLOE: By d posts am seeing here its obvious pple are begining to shine their eye well-well! I for one used to respect 'daddy' alot, that's until of recent. He looks so calm and gentle, talks softly and dresses simple; u just can't help but respect him (there're many others like him around, no need mentioning names). I started having doubts when i heard him say some strange, unlikely 'miracles'. Deep down my heart i found them hard to believe (am sure u've heard some urself). Needless to say, Nigerians fear their pastors like God, pastors should be respected not feared, FEAR GOD ONLY! It has gotten to d extent they don't want to hear anything -ve bout their pastors, even when they're true. On d day of d morning devotion i mentioned earlier, when i pointed this error out, a hot argument ensued with my siblings. Pst adeboye is so feared/respected in my family nobody wanted to hear me out, to them he can do no wrong. Unfortunately, alot of xtians are like that, their papa/G.O. is superhuman and can do no wrong, always quick in comparing them to old testament prophets of old- Elija, Elisha and so on. So anything he says, true & false, is swallowed hook, line & sinker by their gullible and pathetic followers, like zombies. I want to encourage us to 'prove all things' like d bible says, fear no man but God, 'By their fruits u shall know them'. Let's maximise d power of d internet and expose these WOLVES IN SHEEP CLOTHING. I believe we can start an online revolution against these men of god 'dog' and the corrupt, evil rulers/politicians working against d progress of this nation. (funny enough, these 2 classes of pple (religous leaders n politicians) work hand-in-hand TO IMPOVERISH NIGERIANS). Their relationship is mutually beneficial, if u know what i mean. Right now, i'm just so filled with 'righteous indignation'! In 2012, I detected a certain error in that same open heaven devotion book, i was in 300 level then in the university. My elder brother stood up and slapped me to the point that my head spinned for saying there was an error in what Daddy adeboye wrote. "who are you, a small boy like you? We were not even members of RCCG we were only using their open heaven booklet for our morning devotion. My parents and everyone began to rebuke me, saying i will suffer,Quoting in the bible what happened to some people who countered Moses, that they had leprosy. But today, that my elder brother has seen reasons with me. Perhaps, he must have gone through the book thoroughly after that encounter |

AIG07: Hello everyone! I hardly comment on religious section and I seldomly visit it due to the kind of divisions I see and the inability of parties to resolve their differences due to different views/interpretation given to the WORD.
But today, I feel like asking questions and I hope you people will do justice to it. Here are they. 1. What is Faith? 2. How does one have faith? 3. What are the Laws? 4. Does the Law and Commandment mean the same thing? 5. What does it mean to Fulfill the Law and how can One fulfill the Law? 6. How Can One be Saved? 7. What's the difference between been Saved and been BornAgain? 8. What is work(the one mostly found in the Bible)?
Note: kindly support your answers with Bible Quotes and make them Concise. THANKS.
Cc: Jiggaz, 5solas, An2elect2, nicemuyoo, solite3, paxonel, Nebes etc. 1. what is faith? Faith in the bible simply refers to religion. In the light of christianity, it refers to the christian religion which is THE CHURCH. Acts 16:5. And so were THE CHURCHES established in the faith(as a religion), and increased in number daily. Other synonyms of Faith apart from THE CHURCH are : a. Gods kingdom or heaven on earth(people practicing christianity). Matthew 12:28. b. Grace. John 1:17 c. Christianity. Act 1:15 2. How does one have faith? There are only two ways one can have faith. a. By hearing the word of God and being convinced that Jesus is the Christ(the coming Messiah of the Jews). Romans 10:17. b. One can also have faith by being born into a christian home. Such person don't need to be preached to be convinced that christianity is the way. He was brought up and groomed to believe in Christ from childhood by his parents. 1 Timothy 2:15. 3. What are the laws? every tribes and states of the world have their own traditional laws, the Jews in the bible had the mosaic laws as their traditional laws which includes offering of sacrifices, tithing, washing of hands before eatting,.. etc 4. Does the law and commandments mean the same thing? Yes, they mean the same thing. Among the 10 commandments, six of them are universal laws which are applied to all people or all tribes of the world(not only the Jews). Thou shall not kill, thou shall not bear false witness, honour your parents,.. etc. 5. What does it mean to fullfill the law? To fullfil the six commandments which are parts of the 10 commandments is simple. Just love your neighbour as yourself that's all. But for you to do that successfully you have to be educated enough to understand what your neighbour desires. That means, you will need to go to school 6. How can one be saved? This is an incomplete question, saved from what? are you referring to. a. Salvation into eternal life or b.salvation from earthly sorrows? a. If you want eternal life believe in Christ(which is to join christianity) thats all. John 3:16 b. If you want to be saved from earthly sorrows and enjoy your life here on earth then you have to go to school first (either formal or informal). Graduate, get employed, start making your money, help the needy around you and enjoy. 7. What is the difference between being saved and being born again? Being saved and being born again are two different things in that, what Jesus meant by born again to Nicodemus was an event that happened before Jesus was crucified, there was no christianity(salvation) as at the time Jesus was talking to Nicodemus, so born again and salvation will not possibly mean the same thing. Christianity or salvation started after Jesus resurrected. If you research into it you will see the difference, i will not go much into it in this post because i have already said a lot here. If you ask me again i will expantiate on it with scriptures. 8. What is work? Work refers to the activities of men mosty keeping the law, doing good to all men(as against faith or believing in Christ only). As good as works is, it do not guarantee salvation, only faith do . |

Nebes: You can see it in whatever way you deem fit but we pray "thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven". We do not wait for eternity to experience God's will. We live out heaven on earth. Christianity is not a licence for criminality. But as we consciously experience God in this life, we move boldly knowing that in all things, He has judged in our favour. We are His righteousness. Walking in Him, He sees nothing wrong in us. When we think we've erred, we must remember that we are on the side of mercy. For mercy triumphs over judgement both here on earth and in heaven.
N:B. If u are just a church-going christian, you might never experience the reality of this verse. You will need to delve deeper to true Christianity to see it manifest. You are absolutely correct here. It was because you mentioned that God has already judged in our favour for any case at all, both on earth and beyond. I find that statement to be untrue because if you do not read as a christian you will fail your exams like anyone else. In that case God is not judging in your favour because you refuse to work. Hence you are not always a winner. You only win when you do what you are suppose to do. |

GoodGovernance: You better shut up.
You want to rationalise the bible verses to suit yourself and at the same time want to demonize Quranic verses to promote your evil propaganda.
How can Luke 19:27 and John 3:18 be the same thing?
You must be a clown: For Quran, death means death, but for the Bible, death means mere condemnation?
The truth is both the Quran and bible have their own share of violent and very peaceful verses. All we should pray for is GOD's mercies and guidance, not to set one believer against the other.
We have both christain and muslim terrorists,do a proper research and stop vomiting rubbish.
The fact that muslim terrorists are more prevalent does not acquit Christianity of violence,it only proves that muslim extremists are more negatively passionate, about their religion.
Oya ,try to rationalise these also,as if muslims too cannot do the same:
2 Chronicles 15:12-13
And they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soul, but that whoever would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether young or old, man or woman.
Deuteronomy 17:12
The man who acts presumptuously by not obeying the priest who stands to minister there before the Lord your God, or the judge, that man shall die. So you shall purge the evil from Israel.
They should be killed. "If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you ... Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die." -- Dt.13:6-10
God sent lions to kill nonbelievers 2 Kings 17:25 “When they first lived there, they did not worship the Lord; so he sent lions among them and they killed some of the people.” This is why i don't argue with Muslims, You are not practicing christianity you are the one explaining everything in bible than the christians abi. You are calling me names yet look at your senseless argument you just presented. Whatever you don't know you don't know, you better keep quiet or will continue to fool yourself Good Muslims don't jump into what they don't know. They ask questions. I end it here with you. Bye |

5solas: Nice one! If I understood Nebes well, you are essentially saying the same thing. Nebes was saying that God has already judged in our favour for any case at all, both on earth and beyond. And i say that is not true, in a case where we are wrong God will not judge in favour of us. For instance, if we fail to read we will fail our exams. Not reading is wrong, so God will not help us to pass simply because we are christians and praying. In that case we are not always winners. We only win where we work. |
Christianity Etc › Re: What Do You Understand In Romans 8:33 by paxonel(m): 11:28am On Dec 31, 2017 |
Nebes: It's self explanatory. Any christian conscious of this verse is a total winner. God has already judged in our favour for any case at all, both on earth and beyond. How I wish a lot of Christians will study the bible on their own. I've experienced this verse actively in my own life. As self explanatory that scripture is, you are getting it wrong. Pastors are getting it wrong too. God can not judge a case in favour of any christian when he is wrong. God is not that bias. If you are wrong as a christian you will go for it. However, that scripture is simply saying that, nobody can judge a christian such that, he will loose the eternal life that was once given to him as a gift through Christ, irrespective of what he or she has done |

Topestbilly: You forgot to include these verses and and give us explanation.
Luke 12:49-53 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Luke 19:27 ESV But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.’”
If you're truthful to yourself why did you left this verse?
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.” This is how christians understand those verses of the bible. Jesus saying he came to cause division on earth does not mean that he came to cause fight. Rather, he meant he came to establish a new religion(christianity) among the Jews, where some Jews will abandon their Judaism and start practicing the christianity, hence the separation. Separation of this nature do not call for fighting among the two religions. It's a matter of freedom of choice. Some will choose christianity, others will continue with their Judaism, but the people will still live together in peace,That is what is expected. But humans will always fight, that's why Jesus says i didn't bring peace to the world. Not that his intention was to cause fight, his intention was to simply establish christianity, but the people, out of ignorance will start fighting. As for your last quotation. Luke 19:27 ESV But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.’” This statement is the same meaning as John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Condemnation does not mean physical slaughter of people. Nobody is slaughtering anybody for not believing. Condemnation simply means a situation where unbelievers are not given the opportunity to live again after they die in this world, and that is done by God., not humans or Christians, unlike Muslims will slaughter unbelievers thinking they are fighting for God. So, when Jesus said bring those enemies here and slaughter them, it was a parable which meant that the enemies will not be given opportunity to live again after they die, which is condemnation. That is not something that christians or Jews should fight over in this physical world, because this is a spiritual judgement carried out by God |
Christianity Etc › Re: Daddy Freeze Compares Pastor Adeboye To Najwa Zebian, A Muslim Lady by paxonel(m): 10:28am On Dec 31, 2017 |
alBHAGDADI: Daddy Freeze is one ignorant fellow who will lead many astray.
He claims that the requirement to have eternal life is by loving God and one's neighbors alone. He went further to state that as long as a Muslim is able to do those things, he will have eternal life without even believing in Jesus and accepting him as Lord and Savior.
What Daddy Freeze doesn't know is that being a MUSLIM is enough to prevent anyone from Loving God and also his neighbors. Being a Muslims means you obey the content of the Quran and what Muhammad says. Now, let's see what the Quran says about how a Muslim is to treat his neighbor.
Quran (5:51) - "O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people."
Sahih Muslim (2167) - "Allah's Messenger said: Do not greet the JEWS and the CHRISTIANS before they greet you and when you meet any one of them on the roads FORCE him to go to the narrowest part of it."
Ibn Kathir v.2 p.213 - No believer shall kill any believer for any non-believer. Nor shall he help any non-believer against a believer
Quran 48:29 Sahih International: Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah ; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves.
Abu Dawud (41:4832) - The Messenger of Allah [said] "Do not keep company with anyone but a believer and do not let anyone eat your food but one who is pious."
Now, I ask, where is the love of one's neighbor in the above Islamic text? Where at all can we find a command from Allah to Love one's neighbor, be it Jew or Christian in all Islamic texts, the quran and hadiths?
The reason why Christians hammer on the fact that you have to accept Jesus Christ as your Master is not only because it is written in the Bible as the requirement to meeting God...
John 14:16 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
...but also because his ways and teachings are the only way you can be able to love your neighbor and love God.
Mathew 5:43-45
43You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Mathew 5:39 38You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.’ 39But I tell you not to resist an evil person. If someone slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also; 40if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well;
Matthew 6:14-15
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Mark 11:25
And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
Matthew 18:21-22
Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.
Now, tell me how you won't be able to make heaven when you believe the words of Jesus Christ. But you can't do such while remaining a Muslim or Bhuddist. Allah has stated it that very soon Muslims will cast terror into the hearts of Christians cos they believe that Jesus is God, meaning they have joined companions with God.
Quran (3:151) - "Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority".
Their Prophet Muhammad also spoke of how trees will call on Muslims to kill Jews.
Sahih Bukhari (52:177) - Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him."
If Daddy Freeze believes that Jesus was not a Christian but a JEW, then it means that the same spirit which inspired the people that killed Jesus who was a Jew is also inspiring Muslims to kill his Jewish brothers.
For all those who are dazzled by Freeze and his false teachings, I pity for you. He is very shallow and can't stand a debate. He is only succeeding in fooling people who are ignorant. No wonder all his followers use to be fools under chalatan pastors. You are absolutely right! This is the aspect of Daddy freeze teachings that we all do not agree. But Daddy freeze is still correct about the tithe thing |
Christianity Etc › Re: Ignorance Is When You Think You Need Deliverance... by paxonel(m): 9:47am On Dec 30, 2017 |
enilove: what then is the need for this scripture ? Ephesians 6:12 KJV For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places . When you read, try to understand the event at that time which led to Paul writing this letter to the church. It was like at that time, christians were persecuted by non christians especially the Jews. And these Jews were mere humans(what is known as flesh and blood) and not spirits. That's why Paul wrote to christians saying we wrestle not against flesh and blood (humans). Because, while early christians and Paul were preaching to promote christianity these Jews were promoting their religion(Judaism) against christianity, they even went as far as persecuting and killing christians, That was the wrestling Paul was talking about, not wrestling against witches and wizards. Principalities and powers there refers the the ruling religion as at that time which was Judaism (religion of the Jews) because that religion was powerful and authoritative or a major principality(due to how God powerfully fought for the Jews in the past) and was widely practiced. Because Judaism was that powerful, they began to rule the world in darkness(deception). Hence, Jesus even fought the Jews before he was eventually crucified. And few disciples of Jesus practiced christianity as at that time, so they were less powerful. So, principalities, powers, rulers of darkness do not necessarily mean witches and wizards as put by Africans today. The problem about Africans today is that we are too diabolical, so when we read scriptures like these, all we see is diabolism and fear. Hence we keep shouting die by fire for nothing. |

The Jew demanded that he should be crucified because what he was teaching was against the laid down doctrines of the temple. Galelio's postulate that the earth is spherical was considered heretic because it was against the laid down beliefs of the church that the earth was flat. Therefore he was imprisoned. Paul was nearly killed when he returned to Jerusalem at a time as the Jews accused him of teaching heresies everywhere he goes. So, i begin to ask this question, what constitute heresy? When a false doctrine is laid down and it is blindly accepted worldwide and the effect is impunity among men, they prefer maintaining the impunity and false doctrine, anything out of it is considered heresy. My advice to people is to keep religion, denominationalism and sentiments aside, look at the content of every doctrine they believe as well as those that comes their way (including my own), subject everything to reasoning. Those that contain fallacies, they should discard them and maintain those that free from fallacies. It's as simple as that. But first, they have to be educated enough to reason and know what fallacies are. (What almost all nigerian christians have abandon). Hence, the high point of my teaching is always education and love, and 100% accuracy. The place of reasoning and logic should not replace the place of faith(which is imagination that God exist as put by athiests) because... Faith can take you anywhere, even to God

thoth: Now this is the version of Christianity that I'll love to subscribe to, eat, drink,Bleep and go to heaven, just believe in Christ and you'll be taken care of. Does your Church have a name cus I'll really want to be a member ?
so in the scene with the Muslim and Christian dude arguing about pork, who's saying the truth ? Koran forbids Muslims to eat pork cus God told the prophet that it is unclean, while Jesus the son of God told us that all is now cleansed and we should go ahead and enjoy the pork. Who's Good Book do we follow ? To eat pork or not to eat pork should not be a bases for argument among religions. Every religion are entitled to what they believe in, so long they are not against the universal law of love your neighbour as yourself. I mean, eating pork or not eating pork will never affect your neighbour in anyway. So if christians choose to be not selective as Jesus says, there is no problem about that. Let Muslims follow their laws and let christians follow their teachings,So long they don't have any negative effect . |

Jesusgirl92: Then why u wan kon die for our matter na commissioner of happiness ?? He quoted me first, na him dey kill himself, not me .. Also, the OP came up with the topic first, so na the OP dey kill himself. Because no matter how hard he tries, what will be will always be, he is just wasting his time. Daddy freeze has won so many people to his side. Very very soon few people will be involved in this fake tithe of a thing. It has started already! What people don't understand is, Nigerian churches can function very well when people are giving to churches cheerfully any amount they can afford. But by the time churches are quoting old testament tithe to members, that they should be paying a regular 10% from their monthly income, That automatically is not cheerful giving again but compulsion. It is highly fraudulent. It will make pastors become unnecessarily richer while most church members who are giving remain poorer. And bet me, God is not in support of that kind of imbalance. |

Amanayebo: Ur population is insignificant Big lie, More tithers are joining us, people are becoming wiser. 50 years from now, there will only be old papas and mamas who are interested in tithe. Just like the way it is in UK, America, Canada and Australia |
