The whole of Ghana is not up to Lagos State in population. If a classroom has 15 students and one teacher and another classroom has 90 students with one teacher, would you expect the same result?

This is the major reason why people are clamouring for a restructured Nigeria so as to run things more efficiently. A situation where a state will generate electricity but has to share with 36 other states is detrimental to growth and development!

I am from a police family and I can remember when my dad almost died during one of those deadly missions in a tick forest in the western part of nigeria. That opetation was deadly.. More than 70 heavily armed mopols were used for that operation, including some sars officers and CIB men. My heart almost left me. My mom couldn't sleep. We didn't hear from them three days later. We wept.

Bro, I didn't come here to argue with u.. U and I know that over 90% of share holders in the biggest markets in the south east are easterners. The south east is majorly driven by small to medium scale businesses. Those markets are controlled by the easterners. U will hardly see non Easterner with large market share in those markets in Aba, Onitsha, Enugu, Owerri, etc. The east is mostly driven by market economy.

Now, in Ibadan for instance, Queenslima market is dominated by the igbos, Duge market is dominated by the igbos, Aleshilonye market is also shared between igbos and yorubas, etc. These are top markets in Ibadan city. These markets have positive influence on the economy as they house both small scale and medium scale businesses.

Lagos is not to even talked about. Stop the hate. Igbos work extremely hard. I am not saying others don't. But easterners are parasite, right? Northerners are parasites, right? East suffered a major set back via the civil war, and had little help from the central govt after the war. Most of the FG programmes there were abandoned, yet, east is not the poorest in the country. That tells u a lot about them.

Other regions already have advantage over east.

West already have advantage of Lagos which is the biggest economy in Nigeria and among the biggest in Africa. Lagos is the centre of business in Nigeria. It is normal. It is the former capital of the country and has enjoyed massive mono poly for decades. Every country has her own mega economic city, south Africa, it is Jourbug, Egypt, it is Cairo, etc. Lagos is furtunate to have that. It is the first point of city outsider gets when entering Nigeria.

The influence of Lagos is affecting western Nigeria all together. Just that Nigeria is a useless country, all western states would av been far ahead, not in Nigeria standard, but global standard. But these states are still doing badly even with their close proximity to Lagos of all places.. Take away lagos, west will be almost empty.

Now, south south, is the oil hub of nigeria and that is the region that feeds the country. South south has more income flow per states from FG than other regions due to 13% derivation. It is normal for that region to be ahead of other regions. Have u been to PH? How is the market economy there? How many igbos dormimate the popular markets there? Find out too.

Now, north has Abuja close to her. North has always been the baby of the country. The country has many policies that favour north like the educationally disadvantaged states in Nigeria, FG character which benefits states with more local govt and northern states gain more from this. North should av been ahead of east.

East suffered a war for three years, I mean a full blown war and had no special commission to rebuild it as north east is getting now.

If with all these and east is still not the poorest in nigeria, they deserve their noise baba.. If easterners are lazy, oboy, that region for be cast by now . Those boys are dam hustlers.

The biggest slap by any president, governor, or any serving politician is to use tax payers money to fly abroad for medical treatment while they leave those who pay the tax with poor health care facilities..

some times i laugh at the masses in this country, u support and fight for ur government while ur people lack basic things of life, no stable electricity while small country like Tunisia has stable electricity, no water supply, many are homeless, many are jobless, no more true love because economy is bad, no better football league, while countries we insult every now and then like SA has quality football league. A country like Bostwana has more responsible govt than Nigerians. It is time u all stop this ass licking govt. In fact some will even tell u that yorubas are gaining a lot in Nigeria all because they occupy political positions. But my brother/sister, how does that make an average yoruba man a better person? Do we have 24/7 electricity supply in yoruba land? Do we have world class health care facilities that will prevent our ruling class from traveling to London, India, south africa, egypt, germany, etc for medicals? Has south west transformed universities in the region to even meet the standard in ordinary south africa? what about water, ordinary water that late Libyan leader provided for his citizen even though Libya is in surrounded by deserts. Dont be decieved by luxurious buildings in Lagos, and the so called IGR that has no meaningful impact in the lives and standard of living of majority of the masses. My Canada friend told me few days ago that she does not know the meaning of bad government. Her minimum wage is 11$ per hour. If u work for 10 hours per day, u already made 110$ (that is the least u can make in her state of residence). That means u already made more than the minimum wage in Nigeria for more than two months. My brother, this is our problem. We need those who could disturb the govt, make them uncomfortable, make nigeria boil, noisy and disgrace the govt, the masses can take advantage of these type of people/situation to make serious demand from the govt.

take for instance, when Kanu was disturbing our peace (I didnt like the way he talked though, but I appreciated the fact he was able to steer national discourse), political leaders started talking about restructuring. The talk for restructuring became a serious issue in Nigeria. U can imagine if he had continued with his noise and wahala, we may get something meaningful done about our stupid constitution and political system. Think about it bro/sister. Please, dont allow bigotry and sentiment to make u think i said stupid things. I SUPPORT ANYTHING THAT CAN DISTURB THE RULING CLASS.
