They all need a rest. They are psychologically spent Said it two season ago that Klopp"s methodology is unsustainable. It happened to him at Dortmund where he drove them so hard, the team engine virtually knocked. Liverpool should give him a year sabbatical and engage an interim coach to refresh that team. He is a fantastic coach and should not be let go. Once more the Premiership is a hard, hard, competition to win. The pressures on players and managers to perform in 'cup final like' games week in, week out are horrendous and ultimately unsustainable. |
And then they wonder why Nigeria is so divided and racked with conflicts from north to south, east to west. They fan the embers of injustice and watch how the flames destroy our hallowed institutions of all kinds from security to the economy. How many more lives will be lost before Nigerians say enough. |
Wow. Sadiq is gone. That is just cold. Will be missed by many. Thanks for the great memories and RIP. |
Gosh. What kind of calamity is this. These guys want to bleed out or military or what. |
It is not necessarily a snub. Nigeria is a complex country with complicated problems which other nations are always careful to describe and attend to. It is not just speaking to us or our leaders that is problematic to them but just speaking about the country in general. Few want Nigeria to fail for obvious reasons and sometimes it takes great study and patience just to summarize its challenges. What will he say to.our President that will not potentially worsen our situation. Wisdom is also patient. No big deal there. |
Watch how he will be attacked by the lovers of the status quo who have successfully recreated Nigeria into their image and likeness. |
ayomikook:Wait na. The water is still not hot enough to prepare eba. Nigerians love to learn from suffering. |
Nigeria toying with food security. The effect of this will persist for years to come because farmers presently losing their investments will roll back production and some wille exit the business entirely. All because we cannot sit down and negotiate out challenges and we donot have umpires in government that are interested in the unity of this country |
IMASTEX:Fact. Just plain and simple. The pressure on dense atoms eventually creates atomic power. |
Just passing by....whenever Nigerians are ready for change.... the 'Ayes' will have it. |
Courtesy of the most divisive government in the history of this nation. Whatever will restructure this country for good is welcome. |
Well,.through the length and breadth of Nigeria, it is the time of bush burning, marking the beginning of a new farming season. As usual, it is off with the old to make way for the new...if only you know. |
budaatum:No sir. Whenever any animal kills a human anywhere in.tje world, no mattwr how rare or valuable it is, it is put down. Not supporting the indiscriminate destruction of wildlife for food in Africa but this is a global standard. Ordinarily humans are not big cat staple but whatever puts us in their crosshairs, once they have crossed that red line is enough for them to be taken out. They will never be able to overcome that taste and will continue hunting and feeding on human flesh no matyer how humanely they are cared for. |
Malls and maladministration are like water and oil. They just do not mix. As inflation rises to the top like the oil, an explosive outcome becomes a real threat. |
Mr Femi, if the President is not wholly responsible then he must also not be wholly privileged to appoint the security heads and to structure the security services. Mr Femi, this is exactly what we say. Give power where there is a DEMAND. The govermemt should EMPOWER those in greatest need of services to solve their peculiar challenges with resources, legislation and authority. Mr. Femi, by your stand you are admitting Nigeria is in dire need of restructuring but self deception will not enable you and your paymasters to admit that. It is like a parent telling his children to share in the burden of providing for the family. He or she must be prepared to cede some authority. Wih privileges come responsibility. Ultimate privileges demand ultimate responsibility. Tear up the useless Exclusive List. Governors in the United States control the National Guard and some of these units are better resourced than many African states. |
fr3do:That is what terrorism is all about. They win by technicality. That is what you get when the nation is as weak and divided as it is today. |
Vicious cycle. |
molbic:Oga, enlighten yourself. The case still has to go to court and without evidence and not just words, a half decent attorney will get the man walking. A thorough investigation will also unravel the circumstances and determine if there were other conspirators. Few things are ever clear cut. |
Well, the 'wonderful' people of Kogi voted him in again after the catalogue, depository and museum of ill governance displayed for four solid years, so....quite frankly....they deserved to be robbed. None of my business. Next... |
powerbankville:Best place to live in Nigeria by a country mile. But hey, stay where you are, its crowded enough for us. We want it even more serene. |
hedonister:That is the closest thing we have to an autobahn in Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan will have been better with less traffic but its poor quality and very bumpy, however that is where I floor it absolutely on Sundays. Lots of fun. |
JohnBullMySon:And what is 'regional deterrence' for heavens sake. Who is threatenong is in our sub-region and what is rhat a priority when we are atruggling with dastardly insecurity threats costing tens of soldiers and countless number of civilian lives every month. It is what I say, a failed strategic logic. If you are weakened inside, it is pointless trying to be strong outside. All, all, all great empires fell due to internal strife and corrosion. On the other hand just a simple piece of legislation called the US Second Amendment which recognises the right ro bear arms ensures a country like the United States can never be invaded and occupied. What then matters to them is to ensure the people remain 'united'. Fighter jets will not be able to save us from external aggression if we continue to allow felons shear this country along ethno-religious lines. |
WriterX:American sports owners are not known to be ostentatious. Its always business first for them. They will only improve their teams one player at a time. If you expect Henry to renovate with six or seven top players like Roman or the Qatari brothers then consider it pie in the sky. American football, baseball and basketball teams typically donot do engine replacements. |
[quote author=Angelfrost post=99486577]That won't be bad for the foreseeable future, not immediate future. They should learn a thing or 2 from the now infamous "Chelsea-Lampard" and "Man United-Moyes" fiascoes. Gerard is doing well and rising steadily, but not yet ripe for such huge stage. I expect him to assist a proven manager first, or the very least use a mid table club as a stop gap to Liverpool, e.g. Arsenal, Aston Villa, or Southampton.[/quote Assiat what. Are you kidding. He is far beyond that. And Rangers is a bigger prospect than either Villa or Southampton with sure appearances in the Champions League. He should remain at Rangers for a while until his cycle there is complete then a regular top four club in the Prem or western Europe. He is very young and will eventually coach Liverpool for sure if he consistently does well but Pool should be the zenith, the crescendo of his coaching career not the opening stanza if he wants to enjoy a fruitful career. If he flunks it too early it can be curtains. Just look at the Neville brothers, Thierry Henry and even Lampard. It will be a miracle for them to have outstanding coaching careers going forward due to premature exploitation. |
Too early. Gerard should not try it now. Liverpool's woes are not completely of Klopp's making. Pep experienced the curse of the title last season and rebounded well. Pool should spend wisely getting a competent second eleven like City has. Presently there are quite a few passengers on that squad bus. Not enough depth in talent. |
gypsey:Yea, they have. Its called a Royal family for a reason. The institution is far bigger than any individual. Even if they dont care to get their hands dirty millions in the Kingdom and the Commonwealth will be so willing to do their laundry. |
gypsey:And even if they did so what? It is called a monarchy for a reason. Try what Diana did 500 years ago and she will have ended up in the Tower. Make no mistake about it. When you associate with such a huge institution, overnight your dreams can come true....unfortunately so can your nightmares. Harry better watch it. Royal blood is thicker than Hollywood water. The Americans will simply look the other way. |
salford1:So he should have done what....send the DSS after them?. Does the rain of the 'Press' not fall on every one of them. |
Reference:Just get a dozen armoured helicopter troop carriers and establish just a company of quick reaction special forces in each of the northern states and this mess will be contained. The present military structure is too cumbersome to respond to these highly mobile threats. This country is way too large to be policed by the lazy, outdated and ineffectual 'checkpoint' security philosophy or should I call it doctrine. |
Jet fighters for what?. You are a jet pilot cruising at 400 miles per hour at 10, 20,000 feet, who or what are you going to see on the ground. We are talking about present challenges of assymetric warfare, of shocking internal security challenges and we are preparing to confront another airforce or what? Because that is what fighters are for, to secure airspace and that is certainly not where Boko Haram, ISWAP or the bandidos are. Our military procurement policies are just like our planning and preparation. Ill thought, ridiculous and outright wasteful. The moment those fighters arrive they begin to cost a mountain of cash to maintain while their efficacy remains next to nothing. We should rather be investing in surveillance and strike drones, armoured vehicles and training a new set of quick deployment helicopter borne special forces to respond to these frequent smash and grab bandit tactics pestering our lives in this country. Whenever Boko Haram acquires an airwing then we up the game as well. Not now when cash is scarce and budgets are tight. |
That is how they have been in Kano from time immemorial. Political opposition just springs up out of nowhere. You just cannot suppress the truth there. |

I don't, it's just that they are covering it up and blaming innocent people..
