The steady stream of sordid, disgusting stories overflowing from government into the streets like broken sewer lines that cannot provoke a reaction of the passing public other than to cover their noses in abject repulsion is pointless. |
The pace is a bit too hot for Atleti. They are just about hanging on but you sense that if Chelsea does not convert ita mammoth possession to goals very soon then the old serpent can strike. |
Hahahahaha...what tragic comedy.....kai, what a mess... |
And they, government and their lackeys will complain about the shallow tax base in Nigeria. Who on earth will desire to place his hard earned tax naira into this cesspit. Rather that argue about the chicken and egg tax scenario, they should rather be worried that Nigeria could erupt in revolutionary flames if the generality of Nigerians are forced to swallow this bile called governance. |
This is significant. I dare not say what I think it means. Mr. President and this government as a matter of urgency should deescalate the security situation in Nigeria. There are too many 'bonfires' springing up all over the country and it is becoming clear even to the blind that military resources of manpower, equipment and funding is stretched to breaking point. Whatever conflict is smouldering right now should be held at a civil level involving proper policing and the application of the criminal justice system equitably and efficiently before it conflagrates into violence and social disorder. Every conflict the military is involved in today HAD A WINDOW OF CIVIL RESOLUTION at aime point in time but was either rejected or not recognised. The Nigerian government must learn to 'stoop to conquer', negotiate to have its authority respected and must recognise that ot will not always get all it wants. The system of democracy is one of constant negotiations and compromises for the ultimate goal of national stability and progress. Mist Nigerians feel.today that this government has been the most ideologically extreme we have ever had and the isolation of vast swathes of the citizenry has not helped it govern peacefully or effectively. President Buhari, please come to the centre and be a leader of all. That is the only way towards peace and a lasting legacy. There are far too many unnecessary battles and far too much unnecessary tension in the land. |
And this is supposed to be a government of probity and accountability and boy did they drum it round the country when seeking power but alas....same ol, same ol... |
If it is illegal according to state law, why do it. If you cannot obey state laws you cannot be a bonafide citizen and if the generality of Nigerians desire true federalism they must BEGIN to understand and embrace diversity and the governance that is specific to their locations. |
Lots of roads named after prominent foreigners all over Nigeria. No big deal. |
King Zlat is back...all hail the king. |
Care free country. The circumstances of his demise will be hushed up to protect egos and images. Nothing learnt until the next tragedy. If someone was accountable for his life and responsible for the institution he served tongues will be wagging by now. How will decency prevail when lives are this worthless. |
sajb:The weather in the morning decides the day. How government spends its earnings now is how they will spend any savings from subsidy. Earnings have never translated to better governance. |
Gosh, what barbarity. EEDC will clean out that location including poles, cables and transformers for the next decade. |
Good move. You cannot begin to scratch the surface of financial crimes if the banking industry is not placed under a microscope. Until the banking profession becomes as dangerous as the security services and their liberty as precious as the health of doctors we cannot make progress. |
EXOUSIAng:Once again. Where were these so called 'superstars' before 'shoprite'. The history of superstores did not begin with 'shoprite'. If the sector was well attended to there will have been no room for these multinationals in the first place. Same for digital satv, and telecoms. Tomorrow if multinationals take over the oil refining business or the power sector the same Nigerians will speak of the 'glorious days of Nigerian ownership'....bunkum... |
hopevalley:Why couldn't they do it all these years before 'shoprite'. Your talk is just projecting mediocrity. MTN leaves today and the standards of telecoms will surely fall. Check your history. What happened after Bhojsons, Leventis, Chellarams and Leventis exited the consumer product retail business. Who filled the gap then? These multinationals are absolutely necessary to establish high standards, transfer technology and promote the local economy. If great economies such as China have strings of multinational businesses, what is Nigeria to exclude them. |
Eriokanmi:Next time do the math before voting. Peter Obi had the exact solutions in 2015 but sentiment prevailed. Cut the terrible cost of running this country. Folks said, no. They loved the status quo. So here we are. Inflation is the single biggest killer in modern history. It has spawn revolutions and started world wars. It fuels poverty, a breakdiwn of social envelopes and undemines the rule of law and civility. No one plants, tends or harvests when the uncertainty of inflation takes hold. Nigeria will require many, many years of good governance to emerge from the disaster of these past few years. |
If you cannot do it simply pass laws to enable others do it. It is not rocket science. Restructure Nigeria to empower the children citizens of Nigerians care for themselves oh inept, irresponsible daddy called Federal government. You want all the aces in the deck of cards yet cannot score a joker. You guys are nuts. |
Swamp investment. Just as Kingsway, Bhojsons and Leventis superstores in the 70's and 80's, the poorly managed, ill-structured economy continues to devour and destroy multinational and transnational investments. It will surely go down like this: In Nigerian hands, compromises on quality and service will appear, folks will begin to vote with their feet, returning to markets and corner shops and while their products rot on their shelves staff begin to help themselves as salaries and discipline flags and the vicious cycle of internal corruption will finally bury the once famous brand....for another decade or two....until visionary leadership peeks at the Nigerian state and the economy picks up again...attracting a new set of alien venture investors for a new cycle of boom and bust. Without restructuring, this country CAN NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER WORK. |
He had a great game. Did everything right and deserves praise for his vastly improving performances. Hope he keeps working hard to become an elite player. His career ascension is back on. |
Which kind of strange illness is that. Are the symptoms of cholera not clear enough. |
The repair bills will be massive. Some vehicles will probably be lost completely. |
Hmmm....they should demand their voters cards and find out if they either voted this government in as collaborators and hence should be sent home on a life raft or voted for other candidates hence are victims and should be given asylum. |
NwaNimo1: ...this guy eh. Your meme selections are just crazy. Hahahaha... |
ScamHunter:Airborne assault. Please read before jumping into comments. An airborne assault means the delivery of troops and stores into a target area by air transport. If it is far and distant target paratroopers do it. If it is close, choppers do it. It saves time, makes for quicker reaction, greater mobility and less risk to the troops moving through rough terrain. In dangerous interdictions airborne troops first secure the area and clear the way for ground assault troops to catch up. And if you want to sound so enlightened and historically polished I will tell you that the greatest assault in world war history, Operation Overlord was spearheaded by an airborne assault to secure bridges deep into France, Belgium and Holland. Same thing in Korea and Vietnam. You just do not enter the most dangerous locations on foot or vehicles. Ambushes are just too easy. They can see you coming for miles and have enough time to prep. The military, particularly the Army must develop an air assault wing as a matter of priority. There is just too much real estate to patrol and contain. |
EzeNri:Hmm...food for thought, except he was a specialist. The military should consider airborne assaults in these kinds of search and destroy operations. |
Onelove508:Indeed, together with a disjointed story an investigator will find interesting. |
festacman:Is democracy no longer the vehicle for social change and advancement. How do you reform troubled waters without a gathering of people to select leadership to organise them positively. Look mister. Any society that cannot be critical of itself first, cannot admit the truth and receive hard knocks for its failings cannot improve. As it happens in the Niger-Delta so it happens in the north. They constantly undermine those willing to speak truthfully and rather engage 'yes' men who will cover their shortcomings. Have you heard Mr. President EVER, EVER speak out against any governor of any state north of the Niger despite all the problems. There is complicit silence everywhere there to the myriad of problems and to begin to attack the few voices speaking out is just unfortunate. How do you build a viable society that way. This is a man who never uses condescending or harsh words to push his message. Always lighthearted banter yet hyenas and jackals will not let him be.... just sad. |
festacman:But you all celebrated his defeat at the polls (forgotten so soon ?) simply because he was vocal on issues critical of your dear state and federal governments and their leaderships specifically. So in my opinion he stands innocent of the present ills and your vain attempts at roping him into the apparent failures of governance stands null. He did not command any part of the security architecture during his time in government. His role was merely to form laws and check the excesses of the Executive which he did openly many, many times. So oga, please look elsewhere and look at those who are in power right now but stand unaccountable. Leave Shehu Sani alone. You folks felt he was a failure and removed him. What else do you want. How have your electoral choices fared. That should be your concern. It is time Nigerians start taking personal responsibility for their electoral actions and stop playing the ostrich as you allude. How well has his replacement done. Tangible answers pls. |
He has improved his movement greatly thus the results. What he needs now is to enhance his fitness and continue working on his right leg. |
Wow, wow, wow... |
SERAP should permit them to take the funds from their registered APC members and fanatics only. They should hands off the resources of the living and the dead. It is highly amoral. |
That is why our own economics will continue to be upside down. In other nations spending on infrastructure boosts the economy because the resources go directly to the people. Here our rent seeking and contracting system ensures the opposite in waste, poverty and a distortion of the economy by inflation. |
