Very, very surprised there was no fire. Highly unusual. Could they have simply run out of fuel. |
lekki1444:How is it the best state. In those days I wake up by 4 am to start the long journey from my house off Allen to my office in Victoria Island everyday. Today that is when I start my morning devotion and still have enough time for fitness routines meaning that for years I had been worshipping Mammon thinking I was alive. Abeg say another thing or define the criteria of 'best state'. My income has increased almost twenty times since both business and personal without the need to live there. |
Well, he wants to govern this country and so probity should not be a problem on his part. As a matter of fact he should welcome any inquest with open arms. |
Tundetunapaa:Just realised today that Italian Serie B top scorer this just concluded season is a Nigerian. Things are buzzing around our boys in Europe these days. If not for our perennially bad management and organisation. |
Openbusiness:Oga, he cannot hold onto anything. That current is strong enough to break every bone in his body if he attempts to resist it. His only chance is riding it out to a plain while trying to keep his head above water and hoping he doesn't collide with dangerous objects, period. With my little knowledge in life whenever there is torrential rainfall, anywhere I am I check my surroundings frequently to see what the flood water is doing so I can take action where necessary, quickly, even at night. You never know when your chance of escape/survival comes and goes. |
momodub:Help to do what...dial 911 or become the second victim.... I really wan't to know what you will do if you were there. |
XXXXTENTACION:Someone with more sense so that he can give us worked examples on what constitutes gross stupidity. It is allowed. Good job photo journalist. |
Angelfrost:If, if, if, if...because you simply cannot get any leader with integrity, military or not. That is not how democracy is meant to work. Democracy works by balancing power between diametric poles of interest. That it doesn't work well here shows the weakness of the people not the dysfunctionality of the system. Democracy is meant to work every time if the operators and stakeholders know how to work it out but dictatorship like monarchial rule is a complete gamble and where the odds are long it could mean an entire lifetime of misery if the bad king or General decides to rule for life. It is always better to subscribe to something you can control over something you cannot no matter the attraction. |
kikero:Don't mind them. They just talk anyhow with such pride in their ignorance you just wonder. Folks who perhaps have ever read a single book of note in their entire lives. They have never asked themselves why Russia, the former soviet states and even China today are completely threadbare on any globally recognised innovation except for military and subversive purposes. That is the punishment of Communism. It doesn't promote good. It is merely siege mentality. Look at the difference between North and South Korea. Under Stalin's policy of collectivism (socialism on steroids) over 7 million people died of starvation. 3.9 million in today's Ukraine. It was the fallout of this famine that led to the creation of the Global Seed Vault in Norway when Soviet scientists thought they faced a doomsday scenario. |
I hope they are giving him tight performance standards so that the gear he makes is fit for purpose and the company can be challenged to improve then it can broaden its appeal beyond Nigeria and really take off. Globally the defence industry is a recession proof high value asset and companies involved are always smiling to the bank. If Innoson's defence department can take advantage of the Insurgency to produce high quality equipment it can become a force to be reckoned with at least on the continent. Imagine what testimonies of high survival rates in its MRAP's will do for its brand. There is no better and more realistic testing ground they will ever have than in the north-east today. Wars has always spurred innovations and though they have always left tears, blood and suffering, they have also spurred great industrial advances, technological changes and spurred some of the behemoths in the global corporate world today. Innoson may perhaps just be in the right place at the right time if they get their ducks all in line. I think they had better open a fully functional R&D department and perhaps begin to send specialists to ride shotgun with our troops to see how effectively their equipment performs in the field of action. That will be the greatest marketing strategy as far as Innoson Defence Industries is concerned. This is an opportunity of a lifetime. The country is at his feet. He may not just know it yet. |
Yebosola:Well the boot is on the other shoe. How does it feel to be contradicted and chased around. |
branhampaul:Indeed so have I. Just like the United States. You can only have unity of institutions where there is unity of purpose brought about by unity of values which we don't have. Nigeria is gradually splitting fibres and delaminating whether we like it or not. |
Better. Another move to restructure by the default of reality. We are not negotiating values so we are bound to split apart, simple. |
SouthNigerian:They said that cooperation instead of confrontation was the key to economic and national development. Almost two years later where are the benefits. Everything index of living in Nigeria is much worse than in 2019. Negative news coming out of goverment seems to be the order of the day. We just donot seem to realise the fact that there is no functional democracy in the world where people 'COOPERATE' with goverment and what I mean by the Nigeria cooperation is to sit quietly like obedient kindergaten children and gobble up whatever nonsense goverment dishes out. The hallmark of democracy is the balance of powers between the governed and the governors such that no one is taken for a ride because power corrupts and democracy recignize sthe fact that no man or no set of men are incorruptible on earth. Even the great, selfless statesmen like Nehru Ghandi and Nelson Mandela operated in properly functional democracies and were often opposed through vigorius debates. Didn't stop them from delivering real and historical dividends to their people. |
Ijaya123:What is wrong is that China is yet to buy Innoson. So it is our interest to build ourselves into an industrially respectable entity. You as a Nigerian can only truly prosper when your fellow citizens begin to gain international industrial reputation. And I donot care whatever business or endeavour you are involved in. It is in your interest for your country to gain industrial momentum. Making things and not just using things is what prospers a nation, cuts its dependency on foreign help and balances ttade that strengthens its currency. Those GAC vehicles are presently subsidised ultimately by oil money and has put a little bite on our forex earnings viz pressure on the exchange rate. One mosquito bite may not give you malaria but over time it makes your economy sick. |
When I tell folks that the day we end the Julius Berger mentality and rescue Nigeria from being a'Contractor's paradise' then we can get value for our minute resources. He has not great secret. His projects are essentially DL, community/grassroots resourced. You will not see the big names paving village roads and erecting solar street lights as you have in Rivers and Akwa Ibom. They do their stuff on tjhecheap and being an Engineer himself he knows who to appoint to supervise. That is how great nations of all time multiplied 5 loaves and two fishes to develop their economies...heck, that is the classic way of all time to get out of poverty, you do everything yourself. Its the rags to riches story that Nigerians simply cannot put their heads around. You can imagine. Slap bang in the midst of a recession our dear Federal Government still has the temerity to approve over 700 million to audit all NDDC projects. That is spending 700 million to chase thieves, to chase a lost cause. Tell me, if that is not madness, what is. So it is not at all shocking that our debts are ballooning in the quest just to link Delta with Anambra and lay two metal rods on the ground between Lagos and Ibadan called a rail line that we can so easily do ourselves if we are serious, inspired, motivated and have such a believer in self actualisation in charge such as this governor. |
Why? Can't he do the business on his own? |
The whole nonsense just doesn't make sense. How can you be speaking about community policing and the boots on ground as it were are ultimately answerable to some fellow 1000 miles away in some Federal capital. We know how these things work in the police and are familliar with orders and counter orders (signals) coming from Abuja disrupting the operations of men on the ground for good and bad reasons (mainly suspicious reasons) that oft makes nonsense and mockery of our criminal justice system. If my banana plantation is runover by some hoodlums in Boki, Cross-River and it degenerates to a skirmish, the IG can intervene and quash justice if his driver's, wife's, nephew's, pastor's, son's, friend is involved and the victims will be non the wiser with the disappeared felons and the quashed case. A complex, diverse and problematic society such as ours equally needs multi-layered institutions to handle her challenges, all acting as checks and balances. I just cannot understand why we have this penchant for truncating power to as small a number of people as possible and still claim to be practising democracy. If we cannot let go of the ancient traits of monarchial rule then we should forget about democracy working for our good as a country because this is not how it works. |
Arrewa:What is strength in the midst of racking poverty. The great and glorious kingdoms we hear of from antiquity were known for eye popping wealth amongst her inhabitants, rampaging conquest by their armies and were always known to be the centres of modernisation, centres of education, intellect, inventions, industry and advancement of their times. From the great Mongol kingdoms of Asia in the East to the Aztecas of the Americas to the West, to the Roman, Greek, Byzantine kingdoms of Euro-Arabia to the mightykingdoms of Africa in ancient Egypt, Mali, the Sudan, Ehiopia... ...no offense but where does the Igala kingdom fit into all of these even within the ambit of the Lower Benue plains of West Africa that makes you casually use the word 'Great'... There are no great kingdoms of antiquity in Nigeria. Just one in West Africa and just a handful in all of mankind's existence. |
They always kill themselves at a significant point in their destiny. Can people be a bit more circumspect and careful the way they treat themselves realising the evil that lurks everywhere. What further proof will Satan give that he is all out to destroy everything good in humanity. Guard your lives jealously with solid discipline and values and live just a bit longer to enjoy the fruits of your labour. |
Without being a proper Christian the most important relationship in the world is just a gamble, simple. If you cannot do these two things: Read the mind and intent of a man and tell what happens tomorrow, then I think it is better to take the risk 'on God'. Ehat do you stand to lose, nothing. You are BOUND to make a wrong decision any way else you go. |
This thing is becoming as disgusting as these sordid shows called 'Big Brother'. Following people around like flies around a buffalo's butt. |
Fifteen, and that year progressed from allowances to my first salary N212 to be precise. By that same year I was ready to start sending the enemies of state to their early graves on behalf of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by artillery shells so help me God. I grew up too fast. Seen all, done all. Enjoyed every minute of it, endured every moment of it and was absolutely devastated at the turn of events that made me come down hard back to earth and start my second life in professional life. |
You can see what pressure can do. How it can spotlight ills and provoke a positive reaction. Now the eyes of the world are on the Kaduna State government. |
Harryfrosh:They already have one and it is called a helicopter.... duh ![]() |
Is this not what I was saying on the thread just yesterday about the equipment donations to the community policing strategy/programming and seeing tjhe familiar questionable boys in black fully represented? That it was just old wine in new wineskin and tantamount to extending the status quo.... It appears the west is waking up to the fact that the owners of Nigeria will not just let go of their captives from other parts. That restructuring by any means is against their interests and they are willing to sacrifice the security of the average Nigerian citizen just to 'maintain control'. |
No wonder when I type 'Rotimi Amaechi' I lose 100MB. If I add 'trains' I lose 1,000MB and of course if I want to exhaust my data immediately I simply type: 'Rotimi Amaechi - Journey by train to debt captivity'.... works like magic... |
alexistaiwo:We are too religious a nation to turn Communist, and as the most populous black nation on earth no nation can force any ideology on us. If it didn't happen in the late 70's and the heydays of the east v west bloc, it can not happen now. |
ennyrah:If they force him against his wishes he would just be another Mesut Ozil and amble round the pitch for the next twelve months till his deal is done thoroughly messing up his team mates and the club. They should let him gofig his heart is no longer there. He has given the club everything. |
So the 8-2 sledge hammer could be his last match for the only club he ever knew. Wow and a big wow. So after a glittering career conquering all heights, this ultra low point could just be his most poignant memory. Tragic. May we not only leave when the ovation is loudest but know what ovation could be the last. He should have quit after the last double. It was in the stars that Barca fc could not compete in Europe for many years now.... practically since the retirement of Andreas Iniesta. That represented the zenith of Barcelona in this dispensation. |
Mr. Tinubu of course. So that it will not be another case of the 'best President we never had'. After all are we not experiencing same today. So that after him everyone will shut up for once, sit down and reason out Nigeria, knowing finally that it is not the individual that matters but the structure he or she operates. Was this not the same noises made in late 2013, early 2014. After 5 years what has happened? Nigerians are just too ignorant about what really matters. |
Not funny but exceedingly foolish and stupendously dangerous. I remember the story of an Indian or was it a Pakistani woman whose hair got caught in a mill and her face was ripped from her scalp. Had to have it reattached in a harrowing surgery. You leave this kind of hair style for those who own their own automobiles. It is the poor that are always desperate to act foolishly. At speed that thing will easily fracture her neck or snap her spine. |

That wall before the T-junction as his best chance to hold on to something. Sad. May God continue to have mercy on me
