Simplyleo:In those days before becoming a Christian there was this track by the late Michael Jackson titled 'Man in nthe Mirror'. Doctor's orders, thrice a day for six weeks... And all will be well. |
Black lives do matter sometimes out there. Back home here .....we can we say. That is why we are the way we are unfortunately. But some just love it the way it is.... tragically. |
Structure, STRUCTURE, STRUCTURE!!!!!!. Ooooh!!! But you want central CONTROL of ALL issues, in ALL territories for obvious reasons I will not bother to state here. In other challenging climnes you have transit police, airport police, campus police, air marshals all specially trained and equiped for their UNIQUE tasks that no central police force can ever have the resources to compare. Completely independent of the police structure but approved and licensed by government to the specific tasks of safety in those facilities that PAY THEIR SALARIES. So when I buy my ticket I pay for my safety as well. But the lovers of a feudal society, the lovers of the status quo, sole proprietory ownership of Nigeria will have none of that. LOSING CONTROL is not in their interests. If the Nigerian Railway Corporation cannot apply to government to set up its own security outfit to protect its right of way, tracks, rolling stock, terminals and passengers, sooner than later sane folks will vote with their feet and their business will just collapse. Finito.... puff, the railways will die off just like that. |
No sir, it is not more appealing. Straight 6, looking like an office block. The 'Worship Centre' still takes the cake. In Architecture the degree of difficulty is a strong indication of beauty. Straight lines can never match the 'Fibonacci Curve' for instance. The poster needs to visit Abu Dhabi to understand what beautiful architecture is. |
We know where the buck stops on this matter. He has been advised by well meaning Nigerians to restructure the security architecture by decentralising the top heavy police force or giving states this power to secure their territories, but they say no. Nigerians have spoken and demanded overwhelmingly at the highest levels of Representation to rejig the same security architecture for upwards of 3 years now, they say no. It is clear that this goverment is either unprepared or unable or unwilling to do anything fundamental to steer the ship of state in the right direction. Hold Mr. President responsible. He holds all the aces and is the only one who can bring an end to this carnage. |
That is why you should never entertain altercations on your premises. If it is containable stop it. If it is out of control bundle them out or shutdown completely. |
Wow. Dam structures are notoriously difficult to repair and bang in the middle of the tropical season virtually impossible. |
martineverest:Indeed. Like molasses. What the heck are those bees eating to be regurging this coffee looking like stuff. |
maasoap:So why haven"t the authorities determined that and either charged him to court for misadventurism or sent him to a psychiatric hospital for bedrest. Its been how many weeks now. The presence of his 'supporters" says so much. |
On the part of the unfortunate family why can"t they sue for compensation because it is clear the family of the perps are stalling in this unfair, unfortunate situation. They should put upon the SUV for sale and settle the bills because that truck may become haunted. |
solmus:By 2023 those things will not matter. Told you folks in 2015. A few roads and bridges here and there is not development. You will soon discover that. No national leader on earth even in the most backward of third world countries is elected to build rail lines and airports. And certainly that was not Mr. Buhari's core mandate or key electoral agenda. His three point manifesto consisted of: anti corruption, security and the economy, the scales he mounted and will be weighed by. In addition things like social cohesion should be a given for any leader of this diverse country. That is what most folks are talking about. A divided country cannot summon the power to overcome its challenges. Just like a sick man should not be smoking and drinking no matter his habits. |
Structure, structure, structure. If you cannot maintain infrastructure and services, simply outsource them. It is not compulsory for large institutions, organisations to offer all services in-house. Simply call sanitary companies to bid for BO Contracts for restrooms and bathrooms and state that clearly in your prospectus that you are excising that from your direct offerings. Let the students pay for these facilities and watch how they will be provided in enough numbers to serve the students adequately both on campus and in the hostels. If each student of UNN pays say 20,000 naira per session or equivalent of less than 100 naira per day, a billion naira can be raised to Build and Operate high quality sanitary facilities which will work and save millions in medical bills and possibly avoidable deaths from pestilence. These pictures show serious incubators for typhus and if it hits the student population folks will be dropping like flies. |
The people are on other locations fighting the church and insulting christians as the cause for such decay when the tithes they pay to goverment is resulting in their own wealth and comfort as we can see here. Why won't folks abandon all this for the kingdom of God. |
I cannot see how or what a message about church planting and evangelism has to do with any particular individual. But I can appreciate the forces at work against the church these days particularly as the church expands and threatens the comfort zones and kingdoms the devil has owned for so long. Once you are onto anything meaningful or impoasctful for God you will certainly see contradictions and severe opposition aimed at distraction at a personal and an institutional level. But I don't think men of God in ministry for decades are new to these things. They will certainly have seen worse in times past. Their focus is what matters. |
Tigson:I advise you use as many translations as possible. A single Word can make all the difference in catching a message. There are many, many times a particularly translation has brought back memories of what I have heard somewhere and completed the jigsaw puzzle as to what God was saying, days, weeks or even months later. Then on other days I cannot understand a heck of what that translation meant. |
Tcwork:That is where the Holy Spirit comes in as a free gift of God to 'witness' the Word. That is to take what you read in any text be it the Bible, scriptural books, bulletins, or what you hear in any message, preaching, teaching and extract the 'truth', recreate the right image and make it relevant to your specific needs according to God"s agenda for you. That is what happened after Jesus arose. He gifted his disciples the Holy Spirit making them understand in real terms all he taught them while on earth. Without the Holy Spirit it is impossible for a Christian to operate. You can read a million different texts, interpretations, books and listen to all the denominations of Christianity. The Holy Spirit will witness the exact Word God has for you at any specific point in time. So when I read all the stories running around pastors and men of God 'controlling' or "influencing' or ' brainwashing" members of their congregations I"m just at a loss because this is just impossible. Even Jesus could not do it. He led His disciples for 3 years and they all denied Him at the end. |
I use 'BIBLEHUB' to study. It offers over a dozen translations. This is to give my soul enough information for the Holy Spirit to latch on. There is no one translation that can encapsulate the intent of God constantly and as regards to where you stand and what you know of Him. |
ggirl4real:That is the problem with most of us. We look for drama (pun unintended on the great servant of God Mr. Bami!loye) with actors, actresses and personalities. We look foir who instead of what and why. His message is for 'whomsoever' has an ear to hear. You, me, anyone, everyone.... Is there anyone that is above God's Word. Is there anyone that will not be judged by God's Laws. |
The second set of quotes in red I think is apt. Most times it is wise not to speak on very controversial matters. However one must realise that there a is a small group of those who are open to knowledge and wisdom. It is they who will read what you say and study the intent and be blessed by it. But they are in the minority. However they must be protected from the wolves who bark and bay and seek the destruction of the vulnerable. |
The NLC should sit down and stop disturbing us with their naira and kobo protests. It does nothing for Nigeria. Never has in 40 years of activism. If they are not ready to protest against misgovernace, maladministration, nepotism and the structural imbalances that makes development impossible they should just shut it. Their members are collecting salaries, benefits including pensions from refineries that they ran down, working in cahoots with seedy politicians to ruin this country. I repeat again. How can a human being with a conscience claim he works in NNPC's refineries. Collects a salary and hopes to earn a pension after a so called lifetime of labour. Is that person not a career criminal. Yet they too will go out with placards and protest the effects of their 'great works'. |
Egoat:And stop the lynchings and extra judicial killings so that the nation can gain intelligence on its insecurity challenges and not grope in the dark with endless speculation about so called sponsors. Our security forces are like the road side mechanics we take our automobiles to. Trial and error practitioners. Having no solution to anything. But experts at wasting your time, your sanity and your resources. 'Know thy enemy' is the preserve of the wise. We can only sort out our national challenges by critical thinking not emotions or sentiments. We have seen how far the former has taken us in democracy. |
Dee60:What is 'we' earn. Who is the 'we'. I earn foreign exchange and have to give it to the CBN by law at a loss (because buying it back is at their discretion). Float the naira and it won't matter who owns the forex and it will certainly encourage everyone to quest for external trade, external investment and decrease the desire for foreign accounts and dollar hoarding. |
KGREAT:The dream pairing will be Sanusi and Peter Obi to handle monetary and fiscal problems in Nigeria respectively as a couple who deeply believe in these things and are comoetent enough to implement them. We need to have technocrats in goverment at the highest levels for a season. Let us try something different for once. |
Freesingle:You cannot industrialize when you favour imports. Its simple logic. |
I agree. Having is it twelve or thirteen exchange rates is madness. |
They refuse God's laws that guarantees equity, peace and prosperity in favour of the laws of men that lifts one up and puts down the other. They should enjoy the mess of a society they conjure for themselves. |
yoruba1914:Good morning. |
I have been on a working leave back at home in Abuja for about two weeks now and have experiend 4 power cuts lasting five minutes each time. But I cannot use that as a yardstick to determine the rest of Abuja as it has been fairly like this for many years. Sometimes worse, sometimes better. Other parts of Nigeria particularly in the south where I have offices it is about half a day of power intermittently. So intermittently that I do not use public power. The cost of maintaining and replacing equipment makes it pointless. |
Cantonese:Was it not ignorant Nigerians that were screaming that they wanted COOPERATION not CONFRONTATION? Is this not the result. You hand all your aces to those on the other side and expect your opponent to keel over and capitulate. Who then fights for you when you have handed over your bodyguard (the legislature) and your attorney (the judiciary) to your adversary at the primise of peace. Is there anything more foolish? They have now made the citizens give up so much but they have not given up anything. They have not given up their storied culture of waste, graft and maladministration so all the money will predictably go into their bottomless pit. Only in Nigeria. The Minister of Petroleum even had the effontery to say the money saved will be used to REHABILITATE the refineries they have been rehabilitating since 1987 (first time I started hearing that word). That is trying to awaken the beast that has devastated this country for decades instead of burning it to the ground and chasing all the rats away. But here we are. Sentiment has disarmed the citizens are now we are cannon fidder for this APC led 'change' goverment. They will use the money for more 'school feeding', more 'pandemic palliatives', more jet setting, more 'contracting' and every disgusting and disingenuous policy they can cook up tantalise the citizens while stealing theur common wealth leaving them absolutely worse off for their sacrifices in time to come. WHAT HAS GOVERMENT CONCEDED TO NIGERIANS IN THIS, WHAT ARE THEY GIVING UP, WHAT PLEASURES ARE THEY SACRIFICING....NOTHING. In the past serious negotiations will preceed such monumental moves. Today, nothing. Full blown autocracy is what Nigerians voted for. The ability of the average Nigerian to control and direct his destiny is lost. Who hands over a trillion naira of sacrifice to its goverment without asking questions or anything in return except Nigerians. China that has given us loans on behalf of its citizens is shaking our sovreignity. Our citizens are giving much more to goverment and dashing away their liberties as 'jara'. Just mind boggling. |
I cannot see how this can be implemented. Who will be the time keeper and how many referees will be appointed round the nation. And then for heavens sake will this not further seperate the princes from the peons. If I am only able to harvest five tubers of yam in a town of five thousand you can be certain it is only the king's household that will eat. All these drama cannot lead us anywhere. Once again, the problems besetting Nigeria is that of capacity and the solution round it is deregulation but as long as we love 'straight jacketed' governance we will continue to lack. Individuals, corporate bodies, private organisations presently have more installed capacity than the entire GENCOS put together. That is how Nigeria has survived for 40 years. The real 'private sector" has powered itself. To get out of this mess that is where a cerebral goverment starts. Organise the nation around clusters and incentify current consumers who have potential capacity to be producers so that you can begin to 'lighten' the grid. All my adult working life and into business has been spent around massive generating plants some of which can power whole communities. What is wrong with goverment setting up structures to take this spare capacity on behalf of the needy. People do it all the time for water, roads, security and other social/CSR initiatives. To do it commercially will surely be a pleasure. |
Just disgusting. Is there anything that will ignite the rage of Nigerians over the way their country is being run aground. |
nairavsdollars:"Turn Nigeria around for the better...' So even key APC leaders know the country is being run into the ground. ....and now they recommend someone else to continue.... with what... only in Nigeria. If not for the absolute ineptitude of the PDP, 2023 won't even be called a landslide but an absolute capitulation. |
