With all the resources and a threadbare population they still manage medical tourism. Petrol dollars can never equate to development. You either have it or you don't have it. |
Cyberterror:I have not paid attention to this water resources brouhaha from inception but if it is about pumping water north, I don't see what the problem is with that. The south has no water issues I know of. Most states in the south will rather have more land and less water. |
A society that loves violence. He 'heard', that's all and two lives are gone. Just as they 'hear' and lynch, this man has lynched his family in one fell swoop. The threshold of destruction for the black man surely can not get any lower. |
Gosh. This is evil. And she has a baby... And the stupid man calling himself a husband is a witness to these things and sleeps soundly at night?... just evil. |
fergie001:Honestly, this country is indescribable. There are some things one just cannot understand no matter how hard you try. Then someone, a fellow citizen will tag them 'haters' of government, of the ruling APC, of President Buhari... simply for asking for a better life, in this case demanding for a right to life. |
Prejudice every where. The lady heading the discourse lashing everyone making excuses for Europe and hugging those promoting Africa, but the moment a Nigerian raised the sitrep about squalor here she quickly cut Nigeria from the map of Africa. Why...oh... why? '...well ma'am, not all Africa is like Nigeria...' ...chai!!!, kai!!!, dang!!!, damnl!!'.... choose your bewilderment... Who told us to join conversations involving African supremacists. I just steer clear of such folks and such discourse. Poverty and wealth are part of humanity everywhere in the world. We have a disproportionate number because the black man cannot organise things effectively, cannot bring himself into forming anything near an egalitarian society. We should not be pointing fingers on this continent. |
JAMO84:Oga. There is no political leader that is universally loved or loathed anywhere in the world. That you are consumed with how your fellow citizen sees his or her leader(s) is unfortunate. Show yourself some respect and focus on their deliverables. That is, if you are not personally related to them. Most citizens and I am sure including you will never get a direct benefit from them so it does not matter one way or another but in all likelihood if the government is made good by stiff opposition you will benefit from it and consequently if it falls apart by lethargic citizenship we will all suffer. 'Topically', I am a supporter for ALL subsidy removals without exception even going beyond what this government can stomach to really spur a revolution of some sorts across board and in a myriad of ways you cannot imagine but I also recognise the rights of citizens to kick against the attendant suffering. It is highly irresponsible for you to tag those who seek to protest against this 'haters' of your 'pet government' when you do not feed, cloth, educate, treat and transport them. That is pure sadism. What a responsible government should be doing is "stooping to conquer'. The government right now should be in its most sober disposition, making other concessions and loudly worded sacrifices to appease those they are tasking. Folks like you are just not helping this cause. Folks like you are primers for explosive reactions in society. Better watch it. |
So.... what has changed in Nigeria...same ol, same ol... Folks who complained about the school feed during lockdown were derided as alarmists... ...and just months later, this... Whenever we are ready to have a country just dial in for advice, but in the meantime, enjoy. But consider just how low this country has sunk when public officials steal food meant for kids. You sit down and ask yourself how this is humanly possible. |
sparko1:Of course there are legal means and medical reasons to possess cadavers. |
Water heaters are the baddest boys in the house. The only solution is to get a very small unit so it heats the water rapidly and you let it go after a bath or wash. Leaving it on all day is terribly wasteful. |
KefeeBRIGHT91:Stealing from kids.... never been this low....only the Bible can answer this matter... |
infohenry:Good morning. When we said in 2014 that corruption was an issue of structure folks went for our head like we didn't want them to govern. Six years later how far? The only difference between pre 2015 and post 2015 corruption is magnitude. There is far less to steal today. Impunity today is escalated.... Who steals food from little children for heavens sake.... Can it get any lower? |
ozijay:In Nigeria he will likely have armed personal police protection which he will not in most cities overseas. And the chap was murdered by a close aide if I am not mistaken which is impossible to protect against. Nigeria remains relatively unsafe, no doubt about that. Here violence simply cannot be analysed because it is so varied, random and senseless. Here people are killed for all sorts of reasons from banditry, genocide, through lynchings, mob activity to cultism and prejudice at all levels involving every strata of society with very little resolution. That is scary. |
proclinician:It is obviously crowd funded. That is how most community based initiatives are executed by commoners. |
What do these people do in this Malaysia that violence seems to follow them everywhere. It is high time the security agencies tag with INTERPOL and the Malay police to uncover what is really happening. |
Great gesture worthy of commendation but the greatest need in Nigeria today is education, particularly adult education. An educated people are less prone to most societal ills, less prone to leadership manipuloations, more wealthy and in particular less likely to be visiting a maternity every calendar year which is Nigeria's pre eminent challenge today, a runaway population that cannot be harnessed effectively due to lack of intellectual capacity across board. |
Arteta's luck is bound to run out sometime. However, third time without a loss against such a massive team will be a major achievement in itself and will indicate Arsenal are back amongst the mix. |
Too early to comment, too busy to get to the details for now but NNPC to NNPC Limited does not sound like scrapping but pimping. Not good. |
What exactly is BBNAIJA or whatever it is called? |
Kalapizim:What do you mean by heavy logistics. How then after they supplied ordnance and other stores. The same lines of communication should supply them food, water, medicines and other personal consumables. In my time it was the responsibility of S & T and they do it excellently. You speak as if they are fighting in another country or continent for that matter. Where is too far in your own land. Abeg just sit down and stop misleading folks. How many soldiers are there in operation at any one time that they cannot be fed. Which serious army in the world gives soldiers money to fend for themselves at the war front. Where will they get the food from. |
HBD legend and my all time MVD (Most Valuable Defender), slightly ahead of 'Chairman' himself and the mercurial Yisa Sofoluwe. |
mayklef:It will happen to them all, without exception. It is the nature of the beast. |
If you are a closet supporter or public advocate of jungle justice just shut it and hide in shame. What is the difference....? Unproven allegations, extra judicial actionis the preserve of the primitive race called blacks. |
Couldn't he have waited for the Railway University?... |
dich:You can feel sorry for them, I don't. If they feel it is government's responsibility to provide decent social services then what were thinking voting in once again a government that scored absolutely zero in that regards the first term. Were they bewitched. The First Lady and Mallam Nasir came to plead on his behalf. Let them come again to see Bello's repentance onto good works almost two years later. When will the Nigerian citizen join the dots between elections and good governance. |
J Agugbadin:He did not rule by himself. People voted him in. I have said before, that I will not comment about Kogi and her sorry socio-politics but hear this: 'When the people are grossly ignorant and sentiment ridden, they will surely mourn. They wanted a 4x4, but they have gotten a skateboard. Happy X-games... |
K tidoabdul:I don't know why people are not absolutely fed up and already bashing all these stupid social calls and resource wasting jamborees. The definition and function of democracy remains elusive. You give a desperate job seeker an employment letter and the first thing he asks for is an extended leave of absence to go thank all the folks who prayed for him and is seen in photoshots with those who lent him upkeep. Emotionally logical but absolutely ridiculous and totally unfit for purpose. Folks should remember that in Nigeria politics second terms are notorious for ambivalence, elevated corruption and power intrigues. Very few elected politicians come even near what meagre levels of service they offered in their first terms. These are not good signs at all. |
Temitopemo6e6:He did not lead you to make any choice except you are a child voter. Adults take responsibility for their actions and face the consequences. Nigerians like you should take responsibility for leadership they empower with their votes. All these lamentations that failed leadership is the cause of further failed decision making is just juvenile. If you cannot run your marriage successfully you cannot blame your first wife for your poor choice the second time around. It may actually be indicative that the problem is perhaps you. By 2023, 24, 25, 2026 will we be blaming the Buhari government or the APC for making yet another bad decision in voting sentimentally and emotionally instead of rationally and intellectually. Blame shifting does not lead to success. |
I want medical personnel tell us why we like sprawling hospital designs in Nigeria particularly for public hospitals. What is the reasoning behind having hospital buildungs strung out and dispersed over a wide area such that radiology is on Mars, the surgery is on Neptune, the A+E on Mercury while the wards are asteroids, here, there and everywhere. In large hospitals like LUTH or BUK Teaching you need a tour guide to find a patient and quite a while ago when running around for blood for a relation it was so hectic between the blood bank, labs and treasury that day that I could have been admitted for stress.... All those scattered matchboxes can conveniently fit into a single building either on multiple floors or properly integrated such that communication is more effective and perhaps a few more lives can be saved in cases of emergency. |
pretydiva:Very unlikely. His kidneys will be quaking by now. |
The move from fuel to gas will be a sharp, painful learning curve in Nigeria. If we cannot establish best practices in the production, distribution and use of LPG in good time before deep deployment across the country, stories like these will just escalate to hellish levels. Folks will begin to flee at the sight of these trucks. And to think that we need to go nuclear to get ahead of the energy crises long term. |
Repulsive. |
