Tittos: There is nothing different between whAt he is doing and what Aregbesola is doing. The governor is now holding marathon meeting with civil servants and teachers, trying to appease them. Also calling on all owners of properties demolished way back 2011 to come claim their compensation. Its all part of politics. Its left for the electorates to see who is honest and who isn't (I doubt if there is though). Obama won his election largely due to his laid back look that everyone could chill with. My problem is with the masked guy behind him. Is he a guard or a militant? Nigerian politicians will never learn. They keep empowering thugs just to win elections. Later that guy will go and form a militant group with the arms and money that was given to him during election, then turn to be a nuisance for the government. That is what competitive politicking gets you. That is the benefit of opposition. It is not PDP looking at the southwest as a lost cause or the APC looking at the Presidency as a mirage but since Fayose picked the kernels from the hot coals every potential PDP governorship aspirant is doing things they were hitherto 'too big' to do previously while the APC governors are under pressure to govern well. If we can have such hope at the centre it can only bode well for the country. |
God still loves this country. Democracy is working. The best thing to have happened to APC was the loss of Ekiti. It gives them time to get on the straight and narrow, elect rather than select and broaden the base of the party ahead of 2015. I don't know how many times I will say that Nigeria does not need strong men. I hope for all our sakes that the APC survives and thrives. We cannot continue with the disaster of a one party polity. |
HappyJoe: For those of you threatening Ndigbo with "political irrelevance if they don't join APC" - I have these few questions:Thank you. These are real issues. As real as the fights the ACN had with the Obasanjo led PDP a few years ago. Real issues. Anyone who solves them gets the votes. Period. That is politics. |
bootstrap: People like you are usually failures in life. You fail because you cannot see beyond ur hate and myopic nature. You fail because u cannot think strategically. You fail because you think you knw, yet very foolish.Oga, leave this matter. Even those doubters of long ago now know that the north looks down on every other region and considers political power its birth-right. Don't be naive. If the east decides it will not play second fiddle it has every right to. What do you think the insurgency in the north is all about. It is the APC that should prove beyond resonable doubt that it is a national party and that it is not tied to the wishes of a particular region or the aprons of certain individuals i.e. broad based for it to achieve absolute prominence (which I hope it does eventually). The age old civil war suspicions are rife in the north ad parts of the west and until other parts of Nigeria come to terms with easterners and accord them equal political rights they will continue to try to etablish an identity. Remember this. Nigeria CANNOT move forward until there is social justice. It is not the Igbos walking out. It is the rest of Nigeria pushing them out time and again. Must they beg for it. |
otokx: Until we stop celebrating wealth in Africa, such things will continue to happen.Hmmm. Are you a socialist. |
Dating again. What is wrong with these people. Going back down the same road again. Why not try personal development. Enhance your value and appeal to a wider range of people. The bigger the pool the better the choices. There are some people who's true value lies not in a certain individuals but in several but they may never realise that and devalue themselves settling for less. Girl, I pray you find real joy and peace and the real essence of living, that is purpose. Never let any monster ever mess you up again under the guise of the ever over-hyped, misused and maligned word called love. Cheers. |
lagtech: I agree and I disagree.Good reply. Its not what you do or where you are. Its who you are. |
Amhappy: It depends on the type of decision. They shouldnt take very important life decisions till they are adults. At 12-14 my child should pick his/her clothes i will only approve but i choose the school to attend. They choose their friends but i have to know them. As they grow older,i will guide them to make decisions but will put my feet down if my child is making an obvious wrong call. |
Its like an account you draw from. It depends on what you put into that child growing. If you put nothing you can't expect anything out and its better you keep such locked up so as not to become a problem to yourself and society. Its all about the quality of parenting. |
They played exceptionally well today and were good this tournament. For this I'm proud of the Super Eagles, proud of the record setting coach Stephen Keshi who has taken an almost rookie team to within ten minutes of the quarterfinals. I sincerely do hope the NFF continues to do the things it has been doing to take Nigeria football to these heights by granting Keshi and his assistants contract extensions and vigorously pursuing youth soccer to deepen the pool of talents going forward. As for the fans, now the Eagles are out we can retire to our adopted soccer countries. Mine is Brazil and I'll be rooting for them when they meet Colombia. |
This is sentiment driven, this won't let the security operatives do their work. The arrested hausa/fulani people are not the only ones in the east or travelling on that path and won't be. They were arrested on the ground of suspicion. What if they were found wanting? Obviously, they were going to be released once the investigation was over and nothing incriminating is found. This is what you get when the eyes of the mind is blinded by stark sentiment. I believe this is another factor hindering our gallant soldiers in the north from finishing those bh demons.
Na nau una eyes don begin dey open to the reality called Nigeria. Yes sentiment. And its enshrined in our constitution. It fuels corruption, sectarianism, intolerance and everything that makes Nigeria unworkable. Fix the structure first. |
Crystalline: A man says...I don't love my wife because she is not submissive perhaps if she were submissive, i'd have loved her.One is 5:22, the other is 5:25. Is it so hard to find out which one comes first. Haba. |
Said it. Something, somewhere is very, very wrong. |
Libkid: Can u do me a gud favour by removing mikel obi 4rm there.we dont need any snail against france...sefiniYeah. I heard the French love to eat snails. |
The hunter is on. |
Odunharry: THANK GOD FOR FOOTBALL...........On every episode of the 'Dog Whisperer'. That guy badly needs Cesar Millan walahi. |
Like I said a week ago, this is definitely the cup of the americas. European and african teams are becoming endangered species against these marauding american poachers in the steamy jungles of brazil. |
disloman: If I had have voted 4 this man,I would have kill myself.Don't knw how pple that voted 4 this man feeling right now. What a useless man.I didn't vote. I don't vote and I won't vote but I still contend that GEJ remains the best thing that has happened to this country. I don't see what problems we are complaining about that are not territorial, environmental, social. Things that you simply cannot govern or legislate against. How do you stop terror or insurgency, how do you stop sectionalism and tribalism, how do you stop corruption. These are issues the people have to tackle with government but unfortunately in Nigeria people find it easier to have people do things for them than do things for themselves. This I'm afraid is an illusion. I will give just one example. The only reason the terror and insurgency will stop under any future government is if Shekau and his boys join mainstream politics and get into power or the government builds a pipeline into the insurgency and transforms it. Both ways the whole thing will look suspicious. There is something very wrong with Nigeria and I repeat again, it is not with one man. It just cannot be. Donot raise your expectations too high that a change of president will fundamentally change Nigeria. It may not. |

Good choice. No comparison whatsoever. This is an international award and returning to England for this weekend's fixtures there would be extra cameras pitch side to catch the awardee in action not behind their backs and hidden in the fourth row of the subs bench. Now that would be seriously embarassing. |
Osama10: If you are really serious leave that house on Wednesday and return when she is coming back. She can do better by leaving the house for good. What is she doing living in her 'married' sister's house. There is a reason why the bible asks those in marraige to 'depart'. That girl will ruin that marraige. |
thillizmind: how did pastor Adeboye made the. list. when no one knows his net worth.? at least the op never quoted his worth or income.get us his income and worth or else the list is a crap. meanwhile he never own any jet.they where only made available for his use and they are own by other business consign who also use the jets for charter services. this I know for sure.Stop trying to hide under stone. If it is good he deserves to own one just like any other person. I repeat, Christians are entitled to as much and even more wealth, influence and power as the children of the world. I have truly seen an evil under the sun whereby the pyramids and palaces of Egypt are built by those who live in tents. My God is not like that. Jesus came to set me free from bondage including to the thought that I have to hide my wealth, live in suffering and rob God of His glory just to satisfy detractors and appease those who refuse to embrace the full gospel. I repeat. Poverty is one fallout of sin and it has a powerful hold on people because it is protected by a curse by God himself. And only through Jesus Christ can it be rooted out from the psyche of any man. If you don't believe Jesus Christ has set you free from poverty capsulated thoughts there is nothing God can do for you. Poverty is an aberration. Just like Nigeria. Much suffering in the midst of plenty. Is that normal. Is that desirable. |
Blue Scholar: Always remember that your parents comes first,if she can't learn to love them then you have to man up and divorce her... |
Blue Scholar: Always remember that your parents comes first,if she can't learn to love them then you have to man up and divorce her...Stop this. Your parents can NEVER come first. Every living thing grows and ages. You are growing older not younger. Be wise, consider your future and work on it. |
It is grand conspiracy of Satan to continously malign the church so that rich sinners are hailed while rich Christians are misunderstood, doubted and insulted. For us our portion is to hide our wealth and influence, pretend to be what we should not be while the people of the world have a free ride in a world that our God created. Yes these pastors are servants but are servants of the Most High. There are many secretaries out there but there is the Secretary to the Government, SSG. There are major differences in power, pay and perks. Your boss determines your worth no matter the office you hold. |
nkpom mpko: moderation, modesty. Does that ring a bell? What of greed etc, hmmOr looking poor you mean to feel among because there are so many poor people around so you don't want to feel guilty. Jesus died to set us free including the guilt of wealth. I am not a pastor but in my position there are many things I donot buy with money and have in abundance because people just give them to me. It is normal to be have things when you positively influence people and seeking after God positions you for that. Please poverty is not normal no matter how much of it you see around. |
omartins: But Jesus ask a rich man to dash out his belongings to the poor before he can follow him, he said you can't serve two master at the same time without cherish one than other. That's GOD and MONEY. He didn't say God and Devil, Jesus know what devil will use to deceive his followers. And he his busy using it and excelling.Another misconception. They are serving God and He is paying them. They are not looking for money. There are other ways of making far more money than what they do. There are businessmen of all sorts who are far richer than them who seek after money. But when you seek after the kingdom of God and the Righteousness of God the Word says wealth will be bestowed on you. It is a deal between God and man. Wealth in Christianity is normal. Poverty is not. |
The truth is that if you 'walk' with God closely you are bound to be wealthy whether you like it or not or wish to display it or not. Those that aren't wealthy are not embracing the scriptures 'in totality' choosing rather to pick parts of the menu. Its not God's fault. Poverty is a product of sin (read Genesis). It has no association with God. Nothing to be proud of. Even governments fight it and we expect God to pat poverty on the back. |
nedu2000: I see this as a very unfortunate development for 'men of God' who should be more concerned with issues of spirituality and not material possessions. Such acquisition of wealth is baffling whereby a new testament reading says "its easier for a camel to squeeze through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God"It depends on how you look at it my friend. There is only one person in the world who has no one richer than him and only one person that has no one poorer than him moreover the bible says it is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom...but these men are already in the kingdom. They are not seeking to enter. And for goodness sake 150million dollars is not particularly rich, certainly not to God who's Word you quote. |
Today we want a techocrat, tomorrow democrat, next day geographer. This is symptomatic of the vast majority of Nigeria, a ship drifting wherever the wind blows. No one knows how to move this country forward. Same ol, same ol. |
The South-South has produced the first President representing minority Nigeria, 3rd year into his tenure and people are speaking about Ijaw supremacy. Can you imagine. And what is the solution, Northern-Western alliance yet again. This has accounted for 95% of all legal and illegal presidential terms. You cannot solve our problems like this. |
Time is money. Government has no business in business. How do they think it collapsed in the first instance. |
