For some reason we keep forgetting that the FG floated the Naira. Floating the Naira means price is determined by market forces including Binance. Now the govt is defending the Naira and pegging it. Yet we blame Binance. Amazing!

Did the government also say people should form a mafia group to manipulate the rates?? Dangote can decide to sell his own brand of cement at ₦1m/bag, but immediately Dangote colludes with other cement manufacturers to fix that price, the company has committed a crime and the directors can go to jail for it or fined billions of naira.

Many Abokis selling USD were getting their price from Binance and many speculators formed a ring where they were using multiple accounts to manipulate the price. If you were conversant with crypto, you'd understand how this works.

Our problem in Africa is lack of willpower for long-term city planning and enforcement. We scatter buildings anyhow without a laid down grid mapping or rule. Even the skyscrapers in Lagos are scattered - no alignment, like it's in developed countries.

In the first place, he was kidnapped by OUR government. It's like the Ghanaian govt asking Dangote Group to send over some executives to give clarifications on some business deals and when they get there, Ghana arrests them and charges them to court. That's daylight brigandage.

I haven't seen anybody putting up a carnival to celebrate it. It's only normal for any sensible person to acknowledge that the naira is regaining its lost value. And to do otherwise is foølishness laden with political bitterness.

As dollar increases, the monthly allocation increases, because it's pegged to our crude oil sales. When dollar crashes to around ₦1000 later this year, the allocation will also decrease sharply. But in all, the intrinsic value of naira will increase tremendously.

What about rice so that our greedy rice farmers can bite their fingers in regret??

Drinking milk or eating cheese will probably not kill anyone if not contaminated.
People who are lactose intolerant can still take milk products in moderation without and adverse effects.

The reason why more southerners - a whooping 99% - have lactose tolerance in the first place is due to the fact that there's gross unavailability of milk, unlike in the north where some people are used to buying fresh milk from the dairy farmers and their stomach is already conditioned to digesting it without any adverse effects. If Nigerians can buy fresh milk as easily as they buy rice from the market, there'd be no such thing as lactose intolerance.

The effort has not been a waste. It brought down $ from nearly ₦2,000 to current ₦1,600. If they hadn't stepped up their game like this, naira would be trading at 3,000 to a dollar by now.

That's not true. It's simply because of cost factor and also because of non-existence of direct-purchase of milk from farmers. If a liter of milk (where does the market for that even exist?) sells for ₦500, poor people's children, for example, would be taking a jug of milk to school everyday. Our agriculture value chain is still very underdeveloped. So, people can only access milk by buying already processed ones in sealed cans or in sachet powdered form, unlike in America where as far back as 70 years ago, fresh milk suppliers go from house to house delivering milk to customers.
