Rossikk: What would be your reaction?Mtchewwwwww!!! ![]() |
taharqa: Lagos state presently has sm of d worst primary health care system and hospital in d country, so anytin dat wud help to reduce d shame is welcomd whether its a colla bw d State Govt and Zenith Bank Or even d FG. Dis seem like a small contributn but it is in d right directn... LSG shld do smtin really fast about d state's primary health care in colla wit d LGAs and LGDAs(who like most of dier counterpacts across d country are SLEEPING, even though they are d actual 'owners' of Primary health)I don't know about you assertion that Lagos State has the worst primary healthcare system o! I know I benefitted immensely from the one in Satellite Town because that was where my 2nd kid got all of his vaccines for FREE. Better still, they sent an official from the hospital to my house to remind us that our baby was due for a particular vaccine that my wife was unaware of.This was in sharp contrast to my first kid whose vaccinations cost me an arm and a leg to get from Lifeline Hospital in Surulere. The said PHC was recently pulled down and is been reconstructed to a bigger and more modern building. BTW, most of the major roads in Satellite Town have been fixed while others are currently undergoing rehabilitation. I am benefitting from the state government because I have been directly impacted by their activities. I wish I could say the same for the federal government. |
Crap journalism most definitely. The guy goofed by not saying he does not know. But the journalists should have stopped grilling the man when it became obvious he did not have the required answer. |
Murphy T: Elrufai making some unbelievable confessions on the programme...tune in to get some glimpseAll liars and peddlers of falsehood will die and burn in hell! |
Boazizzy08: why this controversial Mallam suddenly claiming to be holy when it is on record that while he was @ the BPE, he misappropriated the sum of #452 million.Which record? Who put it there? You? ![]() |
Thanks you for pointing out a clear error I missed . How can I be "a daft"?. Like many of NL users I am mobile and typed that rather rapidly on my phone which has auto correction turned on. However it can make a mess due to its next word prediction sometimes. The only person getting overly emotional here is you, I have neither descended to fits of abuse and ravenous stupidity as you have displayed. I merely stated my opinion in respect to yours. Please as an adult adjust your common etiquette and mannerism. Have a good evening.
Please pardon him and show him some compassion. He can't help himself. |
The situation with boko haram and its spawns in the north is akin to the proverbial fly which has chosen to perch on the scrotum...aim to kill it with a hard blow and you will do untold damage to yourself; decide to live it alone and you will have to cope with the discomfort that comes with such a decision. As it stands now, there really is no option but to grant these criminals amnesty in the general interest of innocent Nigerians who live in that region and the country at large. |
Sincere 9gerian: I was disappointed with the Sunrise Daily tv programme I saw today. I cant understand the rationale or sense in interviewing two guests, who are known antagonists of the govt, all through the programme. I thought the sensible thing to do to ensure balance is to invite 3 guests- an anti-govt, pro-govt and neutral (preferably a security expert) person- so as to provide the viewers with different shades of opinions? And reduce what should be an intellectual discourse into the type we have here on Nairaland abi? No, it would not be wise to do that at all. Perhaps tomorrow, they would invite the pro-government guys to balance it out. Having both sides in the studio at the same time is a recipe for chaos ![]() |
yuzedo: Lol! Went thru this crap last month. The foolish immigrations people singled me out for random search/questioning.Dude with an answer like that, you are lucky they did not label you a foreign spy. Haba! kila gbe kile ju ? ![]() |
Sincere 9gerian: These are some of the things the Nigerian press should investigate and highlight. But unfortunately they'r too busy reporting politics. The issue with Seme and the road thereto and therefrom has been the subject of numerous articles in the past. I remember that a former colleague during my days in the media won an award for investigative reporting when he embarked on the trip undercover and wrote an in-depth and extensive report on the horrors Nigerians face on that route daily. |
If this story is true, one can only wonder who else is on it; Bode George? Tafa Balogun? Igbinedion? ![]() |
ROSSIKE: Bloody lying things. Instead of you to say ''well power has obviously improved nationwide but my area is yet to experience much improvement''.Oops! I guess I spoke too soon! ![]() I guess we are just going to have to keep ignoring you and your attempts to derail this thread ![]() |
ROSSIKE: Sorry, YOU don't get to shoo out those of us who will tell you the TRUTH just because you're full of misery and spite, and wish to impart same on others regardless of the truth. If you LIE that there has been no power improvement in Nigeria, and call your lies ''constructive'', I will be here to SHUT YOU UP WITH THE TRUTH.See! Even you can do it! You just managed to string 2 sentences together without calling me a "failed human being" or " bumbling retard." Clap for yourself! Now go back to practicing because you are not yet there. Too much anger in you my friend! ![]() |
ninja4life: lol so u mean u ar being given free magas hereAh my brother what do you want me to say? Nairalanders in Surulere say they enjoy 28 hours of electricity everyday; the ones in Agbara say their own is 32 hours everyday. Rossike conducted a survey on Nairaland and found out that 70 per cent of Nairalanders enjoy constant electricity (or so he claims) I can only beg that they allow some of the magawatts from Surulere branch Satellite town on its way to Agbara now abi. We are really suffering in that area of Lagos. The only constant thing we receive here is the sun and the exorbitant and prompt NEPAL bills...those are always on time ![]() |
ROSSIKE: ^^Shake your head for yourself (Not that it would help).Oya we have noticed you. We have seen that you understand grammar and you are more foul-mouthed than a drunken seadog. Now run along and play with your toys and lieave the fthread for people who have something constructive to say. |
We are still expecting some of the "magawatts" been freely distributed here on Nairaland to be shared to us in Satellite Town, Ojo, Lagos. ![]() |
omonnakoda: What exactly will cameras do for us in Nigeria a country where you cannot phone an ambulance or a fire engine. The utility of cameras in stopping activity like suicide bombing is ZERO as we saw in the UK 8 years ago. It is a LUXURY and not a priority for now given its cost . We do not have electricity which means solar and that technology in most cases tends to fail. Most of the solar street lights and water pumping systems installed by Fashola have failed repeatedlyTo set the records straight yet again, Lagos has a functional emergency and crisis helpline. Dial 767 on ur phone toll free to get help in time of crises. Now, whether that help gets to you in good time is another question. But at least the availability of the hotline is a step in the right direction. |
Sincere 9gerian: It is such a disgrace that some persons are talking about installation of 90 CCTV cameras by Lagos state govt in 2009. What will be the impact of 90 CCTV cameras in the whole of Lagos state? In 2011, the FG installed atleast 100 CCTV cameras in Lagos Airport alone. Even that 100 is still not enough and more have been deployed since thenThe above still does not change the fact that the LASG had conceptualized and began to execute a city wide CCTV coverage project before the advent of the federal government's intervention. It also does not change the fact that while the state government successfully installed and is operating some of the said cameras, the FG project is fast devolving into another moribund project for which the country is worse off for as it represents an increase in her external debt profile. I am not out to join issues with anyone on the merits or demerits of installing cameras in Lagos or anywhere else. I only seek to set the records straight. |
omonnakoda: WHO PAID FOR THE CAMERAS AND HOW MUCH DID THEY PAY?Really annoying stuff I tell you. $470 million dollars out of which the Chinese Exim bank expects us to pay back 85% within10 years. Yet we have not even begun to enjoy the benefits of the project. I do not share your opinion that we do not need cameras because we need them for so many reasons. Cities like Abuja and Lagos would be better policed if those cameras are up and working. So much has been invested in putting them up and the project must not be allowed to die. Whether the cameras work or not, we are going to be paying back the loan secured from China to finance the project. This government needs to finish what it started. |
Here is a very educative link: http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/abuja-where-are-the-cctv-cameras-/141195/ |
Lagos State government had installed CCTV cameras in strategic locations as far back as 2009 if memory serves me right. Jonathan's CCTV project was conceptualized in 2010 and began in 2012. Even the FCT project has run into troubled waters and is a largely abandoned project. |
Since when did calling for a peaceful protest become a crime against the state ![]() |
Yes |
Whatever happened to that fellow "Beaf?" he seemed to just dematerialize from Nairaland ![]() |
MEILYN: Mtn Done Die........Chaiii Mtn Is Against Dis 4sure......Nice CallYou'll be shocked at how prepared MTN is for MNP. I don't know any of the other networks that is as prepared as they are. |
CHESSBOARD: Its only a Yoruba Man that will publish this kind of rubbish to shield the Northerners , bloody betrayals. What does ordinary field Geologist know about oil politics. i didn't bother reading all these craps. You did not "bother to read" but you felt obligated to display your ignorance on the thread. At least even Lastpope and others who have contrary views bothered to read the article. That is one of the main problems with this country. The bandwagon syndrome is a curse to us. |
Noooooooooooooo! This can't be true! ![]() |
ak47mann:If this guy see real boko haram e go piss for pant. See the kitchen knife wey e wan take "slit their throats." ![]() |
creekman: Thatz a big lie. This is my 7th year in Ojodu and the light situation hasn't improved any bit.As a matter of fact the only thing that has "improved" is the NEPA bill. When I first moved into ojodu in 2006,my first light bill was about N560.00k.Now I pay as high as N18,000/month for the same 3 bedroom flat.Infact there is no Light as at the time of sending in this reply.Thank God for the cold weather due to rainfail this night. You see yourself? You have lived in that area for 7 years so all your feeder lines and transformers are on the verge of expiry. Your area is also now too old and far from the discotheque for "magawatts" to find your area. Keep hope alive! Magawatts is coming to a disco near you this rainy season. ![]() |
prem love: It look as if lagos is d only state in nigeria dat have constant power supply becos here in delta most especially warri and abraka here i am. Is only buy GOD Grace dat we c light and even use it for two hour u guys have a good governor unlike we dat have ............scaredPerhaps you are also not living near a "discotheque." Or maybe the "magawatts" are been shared according to party affiliations....by the way, are you a member of the PDP? ![]() |
Yeah...great improvement. At least we now have between one and two hours of stable electricity every week in Satellite Town, Lagos. Congrats to Yaba and Ojodu. One day one day, all these "megawatts" I keep hearing about on Nairaland will branch our side too. |
