On the flip side, Nigeria's non-oil economy benefits from the large population & growth in terms of an abundant of cheap labour, a huge market and the potential for a growing middle class. Once population start to thin-out from thw bottom, there could be serious issues as many of the industries have been used to cheap labour and developing products targeted at Nigeria's burgeoning young population.

Lastly, you may expect an increase in taxes as government will need to now focus on the cartering for the rapidly growing ageing population using taxes from the younger working class.

Never really toured a morgue, but I have visited the casualty ward of a gov hospital in lagos. It seem like an alternate universe filled with hopelessness and raw human misery. I saw them cover someone who just died before my presence, endless wailing from visitors and patients begging God and man to survive. The doctors there looked liked robots who had lost all sense of human emotion. I wonder how they live outisde the hospital walls because some key human emotions in them seem dead

Dont think I will ever set foot there again. I pray to die in my house. Never will I want to see such to depressing environment. Would probably have been a better experience if it were a private hospital. Unfortunately private hospitals shun and pass on the responsibility for the most serious cases

Depends on the industry. For a consultant in say a big4, he wont say much from that money. I have been there and I can tell you cutting too much corners to "save" will cost him his career in some industries.

Good thing is he can make 2-3x that amount in a few years if he invests in himself

If he's a commuter that goes from work to house, his fueling bill will reduce.

If I were earning ₦400k, I'd relocate to a flat where I can pay at maximum, ₦250k yearly (and that's because I want to have a family). A two bedroom flat is okay for a start.

I'd use my first monthly to pay it off, doing a little refurbishment too. I like to buy foodstuff in bulk so I am definitely going to spend up to ₦80k for it. If I don't have a freezer, I wouldn't bother buying goods that are too perishable. I would save for a freezer and a generator together.

I have to buy the major things so as to enable me begin to save. Sorry I didn't tell you, I don't save. I actually invest. I'd start up sth else with the saving..rather than leaving it lying adamant.

Call her during the day from work and apologise for having the "intention" to get the gas but being were just too tired and forgot the previous day and could not wait to buy it that morning because you will be late for work. Moreso, when coming from work, very often buy her something even if it's bread, shawarma e.t.c....from experience no mother can resist these treats. Even if you offended her the previous day, once you come in with these gifts, she will just be singing your praises.
