Was it Tinubu that removed the subsidy? There was no provision for subsidy in 2023 budget effective July 2023 as prepared by Buhari. Tinubu only announced it that subsidy is gone. The economy is biting hard, price of commodities are going up, the govt should do a quick one on transportation to alleviate the suffering of the people. Every State govts should have rolled out buses that will charge insignificant amount to help the populace but our leaders are self centered and don't care at all.

There is no subsidy in the budget, where did he get the funds to return subsidy and keep price constant over the past months?

He made a big policy mistake and attempted a policy somersault to correct the impact, but the damage is largely done.

Recall that Maureen Badejo was slammed with a punitive damages in the sum of £100,000.00 by the UK court for defaming Dr Daniel Olukoya, the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) and his wife Pastor Mrs Folashade Olukoya.

Unfortunately for Maureen Badejo, she has not been able to pay a dime out of the damages to the Olukoyas since the court gave the verdict in 2021. Her failed attempt to appeal the said judgment which appeal court described as pointless and hopeless only complicated her case as interests in the judgment sum kept mounting which has now left the lawyer to the Olukoyas with no option than to file for Bankruptcy against her.

At the resumed hearing of the Bankcourt application today, Maureen Badejo claimed not to have received the legal papers for her bankruptcy petition even though same had been served on her and evidence was presented that she had been served. The court has however in its magnanimity given her one last reprieve and ordered a hearing be fixed for the first open date after 14 days.

Maureen Badejo has now offered Dr Daniel Olukoya £1000.00 per month. She is basically saying she needs 100 months (about 9 years) to pay her damages to the Olukoya’s.

The offer was without hesitation rejected by the lawyers to the Olukoyas as wholly unsatisfactory.

They are coming to the UK for the daughter's graduation and the daughter indicated she'll be funding everything with about £2,000 each and her statement of account has almost 7k. We plan to reapply immediately because the graduation is 4 weeks away... can we put 1m each in their account and say they plan to spend half of it personally during the trip or we should nullify their own statement of account entirely... below is the screenshot of the refusal letters

Sometimes keeping an application simple is better.

If they are retired and have a source of income why do they still provide a bank statement?

I did same for my in-law, she provided no statement, just shared my own statement and it was granted with no questions.

A visitor visa by design is not intended for work by the issuers. There is a fair chance you will find it harder to get a job because of this though you have an in-demand profession.

It is probably better you keep the Nigerian job while looking for opportunities with the visa.

Bubu on the other hand presided over one of the largest fuel price increase in Nigeria's history, yet claimed to borrow massively to fund subsidy.

All of them dealt with the absence of local refining capacity, but one was a complete dimwit that could not manage the economy productively and lived on loan-to-loan.

Until this administration acknowledges the last one was a big error and apologies to Nigeria for supporting it, it will continue to chase shadows in NNPC and CBN looking for what is not lost.

If you are positive that 9 October is the last date, I advise you to cancel. You should get your IHS refund after some time. Once your visa is approved, getting them to cancel your visa and refund you may be trickier.
