CelebritiesRe: Beyoncé Knowles Vs. Victoria Beckham - Who Is A Better Dresser? by Sapphic: 3:41pm On Jan 26, 2009
Dis Guy:
yes i know

no one knew her as a fashin icon then, now shes kinda doing alrite, have you seen the armani underwear ad?
She has ALWAYS been known for her good dress sense. Even the people whom she went to school with before she became famous said she dressed well then too (obviously not all the designer gear she wears now, but she has a good eye for what is a good wear and what is a no no). The problem she has though, is the fact that she often finds it hard to dress down. many an occasion that calls for casual wear sees her dressed in killer clothes and then she looks out of place.

And OMG YES of course I have seen the photos of her in the Armani lingerie ad. She looks bloody phenomenal. She actually ran so many miles and trained endlessly to look good and toned (and normally Victoria does not like exposing her stomach. She is known to have a hang-up about it. That is probably why it was shot in a "shaded" room with blinds). She sure gave her hubby David a run for his money. They are a hot couple.

@ Spiked, I am one of the few people who thinks that Beyonce looked good in that dress. And the dress is in no way "awful" (take am easy now. . . LOL tongue). Obviously, it is not her best red carpet dress, but it will definitely be counted among her good dresses (and not one of her numerous fashion faux pas).

Oh! he wouldn't, believe me. Getting your anus torn by several rough sex starved guys. Apart from that, this would be like saying that because a girl is straight she enjoys every minute of a rapist shagging/raping her, afterall it is the same straight sex she is receiving. sad

Mariah's quote, still has the power to shock me. I remember when I first heard of it long ago. I was appalled, not only about her vanity, but her ignorance and the apparent insult that went with it.

ROFLMAO @ most of the other quotes too. You sure have a pot to dig into for them spiked (abi you dey follow them around with microphone? LOL tongue).

Sagamite:
She probably clicked on it because she could not believe her eyes that someone was bold enough to put such a proposition across on a nigerian site, because she was disgusted and wanted to criticise or because she was curious what the response of people will be.
That would be true if she was new on the site, but she isn't and she is known to have a history of seeing such threads on Nairaland (a Nigerian site), and she has seen the response on quite a number of threads, so it certainly isn't the novelty factor or curiousity factor. That leaves being disgusted and the need to be judgmental. It takes a certain type of individual to proclaim disgust or nausea at a particular thing yet go there time and again, and being a bible basher, she knows what the scriptures say about judge not etc. undecided

“The way I see it is an eye for an eye. So if someone rapes a girl he should be bent over and the same thing done to him,"
I so very much agree with what Katie said. I remember hearing it on the TV last week that she had said so and I was like "absolutely". In fact, the rapist should be taken to a prison of sex starved inmates and have as many of them as possibly could sodomise him.

Beyonce is doing her job on stage! wink
I hope you know that Victoria was also a singer. She did not have the abysmal dress sense clothes that Beyonce comes up with from time to time.

FamilyRe: Toilet Seat Debate by Sapphic: 10:46am On Jan 25, 2009
The toilet seat should stay down for the simple reason that majority of the uses require it to be used in a down position i.e. for three quarters of the uses by both sexes (when women pee, it is down, when women poo, it is down, when men poo it is down, the only time it is required to be up is when men pee. . . so 75% of the time it is down, so guys, lift the seat to pee and PLEASE PUT THE bleeping SEAT BACK DOWN ONCE YOU FINISH).

Or even better still, everyone who uses the toilet should always cover the lid (cover). That way even the ladies put the lid down when they are done and they will have to lift the lid each time they want to use the toilet and the men can lift both the lid AND the seat when they want to pee. That way, EVERYONE lifts something and EVERYONE puts something down. CHIKENA.

Can guys really be "virgins"
Well someone like me have never had sex ( 24 yrs now ), but I bet you, everyday I live, ladies around me, are killing me with the way they dress, and stuffs like that, and more over, naturally, I have wet dreams. Now tell me, @ 24, with no sex experience, and all I've been through, am I a virgin? did GOD even create men to be onehuh? grin
You are a virgin. Please make sure you remain a virgin until your wedding night. Hold on tight to it and don't give it up to any girl in just a relationship. Give your virginity to your bride as a gift, I'm sure she'd be thrilled to bits. cheesy (self-service if the urge for sex overcomes you. . . LOL) cheesy
FamilyRe: I Have A Girlfriend, But She's A Club Girl, But Now I'm Married, Should I Quit. by Sapphic: 9:43am On Jan 25, 2009
I am actually taken aback at the volume of people saying dismiss the friend outright.

I do not know what you mean by club girl. If by club girl, you mean that she is a girl of loose morals (who is more or less a slut and dresses like a tart), then by all means you may do away with her if you so wish. However, if she is pretty good, but just likes having a good time, I would advise you to weigh this particular friendship means to you and think very carefully before jettisoning her. Whilst I know that this is your husband, but the mistake far too many women make is to let their husbands alienate them from their friends for one reason or the other. Your husband is your husband and should take precedence over your friends, but he should also respect that you have friends. Your friends are the people who will stand by you when you are going through difficult times (especially in your relationship and/or marriage) and believe me you do not want to go through tough times without good friends. One of my sisters just got divorced last month, and by that time she had no friend because her husband had one way or the other caused her estrangement from her friends. The period of her separation and up to the divorce was very trying for her, made worse by the fact that apart from me and my little brother, there was no one she could talk to or socialise with (as I moved out of London, it was a double blow and I had to ask a couple of my friends to go with her to parties, the theatre etc just so she won't be all lonely). She is only just re-establishing contact with some of her lost friends, but so many years have passed and with some there is the akwardness that comes sometimes from lives built apart. . . which is such a pity. Personally, I guard my friendships jealously and it must be something extraordinary that would make me give up any of my close friends especially as I have known most of them for over 15-20 years (but same applies to my friends of four or five years).

So evaluate your friendship and if you feel she is a bad friend, you know what to do. However, if you think she is a fantastic friend that impacts you positively, do not let your husband bamboozle you into destroying your friendship as that is a slippery slope you don't want to start on.

Because women have wizened up and will not put up with the crap their mothers and grandmothers put up with (e.g. infidelity angry, domestic abuse angry, incest angry, irresponsibility angry, husband taking a "2nd" wife angry, fathering bastards outside angry, wife being forced to humiliate herself in front of husband despite the fact that he is clearly in the wrong angry, being treated like a slave angry, being given little or no respect in the marriage angry, etc etc etc) just so that they can continue to bear the prefix "Mrs."
1) They think its in a guy's nature to cheat and he should therefore be forgiven.
2) They do not think/know that they deserve better
3) They would rather be with a cheat than alone (some are actually scared of being without a guy, and some think without a boyfriend they wouldn't be counted among)
4) Like B-Boy said, they waiting hands and legs thinking that one day he'd change
5) They're blindly in love
6) They're so dumb to think the guy is their life, and without him they cannot live
7) To save their relationship and what they once had
8 ) Some are stupid enough to think its their fault (that maybe they weren't there when the guy needed them, these people are a.k.a brainwashed)
9) They're desperate (guys are scarce lol, what if they leave this one and never find another a.k.a "a bird at hand is worth more than 10 in the bush)
10) If its a marriage then for the sake of her family (kids)
11) Another if its a marriage, would do anything possible to make it work (putting it into prayers too wink )
12) Because they do not have the strength and courage to leave
13) The guy is upon being a cheat, violent and has threatened her a.k.a "fear of the unknown/scared of their dear life"

. . Should i go on?? grin

Finally 14)
Because atimes the person does deserve a second chance, nobody is perfect. After you've been with somebody and known the person, some actions you feed to the dogs Cos you know the person was just a victim of circumstance. The question is, how many chances does the person deserve?
All these are so so true. And in addition to these, many women especially back home (and probably in most of Africa) have the notion (foisted on their psyche by their mothers, relatives and the society) that if they leave a cheating husband the next man in their life would more likely than not be just as bad or probably worse (which is a throw back of cute-ass's point 1 about it being the inherent nature of men to cheat). In addition, attitudes passed down from generation to generation always see people back home (especially mothers of the distressed wives whose husbands have cheated on them) tell the wife that she would be a fool to leave her husband just because he merely cheated on her, and then comes the homily of how the mother stuck with the girl's father throughout all the years of his numerous infidelities and even when he fathered a few bastards, but that now they are still together and the man cherishes her (mind you, this is usually by the time the man is old and useless at maybe 70 or so. . . LOL. undecided Lawd have mercy).

Women have to learn that you CAN be happy on your own. When men understand that women will not put up with the crap of their cheating, there will be a paradigm shift in attitudes and behaviours. Obviously, cheating would not be eradicated, but it would not be seen as a male prerogative.

TravelRe: London Is Not The Paradise I Expected by Sapphic: 6:45am On Jan 25, 2009
How the heck can someone come to London, get holed up in Peckham (or a place like Brixton or Hackney) and expect to see better things? (It would be like landing in Mushin or Ajegunle and expecting wonders). Her experience would have been different if she lived in Chelsea (or for more entertainment Nottinghill or Primrose Hill). She should have bought herself a travelcard, armed herself with a tube map and gone around. I am not saying that London is extradordinary in anyway, but there are things to do that could have entertained her a little, and it is definitely far removed from the eba and ila image she painted.

Becomrrich:
Sapphic, first of all in your so call 1999 constitution Justice Tobi made a serious mistake. You do not write a business agreement without an address. When he define nigeria , he did not define the location. So nigeria may be on the ocean .

the consitution does not lay claim to ownership of the nigeria land. if you see anywhere in the constitution that shows that please show. It only refered us to the land use act.

If you look at the land act. under the power of the governor, it give him the right to transfer the land.

Look why do we have all this in the land act. The reason have to do with our history. we had a problem of land ownership before britian. Michelle obama would be someone in lagos now, if all was right. It lead to several wars that lead to slavery. Land have been the issue and the reason that affect slavery trade.

We have a close history with the native india of america. So we reserve the ownership of our land just like the native india. In the USA the USA govt can not take the land belonging to native indias. So we had sure treaty with britian. And britain could not transfer the land to nigeria.

Even when the federal govt of nigeria acquired abuja. To show that the federal govt did not own any land in nigeria and would never own any land. They paid the people living in that area for the place.

And if you doubt if Governor can take federal govt land in lagos, why not test him and you would see. Do you know Jang the governor of plateau is right in what he did to Yar adua. He is right under law. The law does not give Yar adua the power to set up anything in plateau. He could seek that power thru the national assembly, which he never did.

Yar Adua problem is that he can not tell between democracy and military because we had military for too long.

If you check the land transfer right. It is in the hand of the governor of the state. Please take the time to read it. It is not in the hand of the federal govt or the national assembly. Only the governor. So we yorubas can transfer the land. If we want to transfer the land and any governor who support Nigeria. we impreach that governor and have the next governor transfer it.
OMG! I want you to read what you have written again and determine if it makes any sense. Either way, I have reached the conclusion that trying to enlighten you is just a waste of time, so I GIVE UP. Good luck with your postulations as well as cheesy attempts to transfer the land to the Republic of Benin. Do let me know how it goes. embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed undecided undecided
