Trying to play the victim and gender card to gain public/female sympathy is dead on arrival, I followed this court case from the very beginning and it was obvious she was lying and faking tears, everyone saw through her lies, every one knows she wanted another cash out, she was caught committing perjury countless times in court, she should zip her lips and pay up.

Thank God this is coming from a woman.

Depp's lawyer is a really brilliant lawyer.

Career / Re: Have You Ever Been Insecure About What You Studied In School? by SavageBoy: 2:24pm On Jun 02, 2022
If you want to feel insecure about what you're studying, let it come from a realistic point of view, whether what you're doing is worth it and would truly be beneficial in putting food to your table when you graduate.

It shouldn't come from the jesters. All those jokes will end as soon as all of you graduate; when Nigeria labor market show all of Una pepper, no body will remember that pretty girl in the faculty of Law that looked damn sexy in her white and black, or those engineering guys that do feel as if they're atop the world.

You can chose to start over and study something much more professional, but if you don't then pick up a skill or something and learn. You would be much more admired and respected by people. Imagine people respecting you an education student because you're a badass programmer or very brilliant designer.

Programming / Re: I Want To Go Into Tech; What Field Should I Choose? by SavageBoy: 8:13pm On May 31, 2022
Hannania:
Let me give you a very fast track. There's a company Called Microverse(Microverse.org). It's a company based in USA.

They train you for 7 months, then you use 3 months to look for a remote job. You pay them 15% of your income after your start making $1000. Some of their graduates make $30,000 because the stack they use is fullstack Ruby(HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Ruby and it's framework Ruby and Rails).

They have a one month pre-course, so don't worry if you're a beginner.

The training is on the concept of pair programming, so you'll work with students from all around the world.

If you register now, and get accepted let's say in August, by May next year you're at least a 500k earner.

That's the most practical advice from me, because it's structured, and you're learning with a goal to get a job.

Note: Ruby and rails is a sought after stack in US and Australia, so there's no much competition for developing countries developers.

This advice is just for Software Development.
Other fields of Tech like Product Design, Graphic design, just get a good Udemy course and stick to it for six months while connecting with a community.

All what's I mentioned needs dedication. So if you're intentional, by this time next year, you'd smile.

Good luck.

Oh, you will find me among them. I don't wear a suit to work. In fact, I have never worn a suit in the past ten years, except during a friend's wedding three days ago. I have worked as a courier man, infact na small thing remain sef I for do conductor. And I have worked in a restaurant serving food, washing plates, and cleaning bathrooms after customers have messed it up.

But that doesn't mean I accepted that position, I worked to climb out of it. This is not to stay if one is better or not, but to point out as a matter of fact, that the folks that power society are men on rags, not suits.

It really depends maybe the company didn't use dsa. I got a job in Vietnam last year a japa job but the salary offered was lower than what I earn in Nigeria here 1400 USD a month. It was the only job that sent me a take home which I passed the other jobs were all DSA. The good paying jobs like very good pay they require dsa. The rubbish jobs send take home.

Okay.

I now get what you meant when you once said that you got a job in another shit hole but refused to go grin

But Chief, you're big oh
You're earning more than most lecturers in federal institutions

Same here but I am more focused on a japa job sha. I am tired of 9ja.

Still on this japa thing
I'm sure you heard the story of that 16 year old John oseni that was poached by a blockchain company in Italy, and had to leave.

Would you say the guy's case was a product sheer luck, or the guy must have had a sound knowledge of DS&A baring the fact that he just got into tech 2years ago.

this was exactly how a lady was disturbing us on nairaland, telling women to avoid men by all means, that she hates men with passion. I started searching about her both remotely an physically, I found out that this lady was a core prostitute, she was into prostitution. In one of her social network account, I saw a website and decided to visit the website, it was all about dating sha. I saw the lady picture, I click on it and texted her which she replied. I ask her out she told me bear bear to bear bear is 10 thousand naira, I replied you and who is doing raw abi you want to give me hiv, she said with condom I'll pay 5000 naira. I contacted one particular mod on nairaland, I ask a particular nairaland female mod to confirm if she is the suspected lady, the mod replied, she knows her too well, she's the one. I don't know if the female mod divulged the secret to her that made her to deactivate her Nairaland moniker and disappeared. We've not heard from her till date.

Programming / Re: Which Laptop Can Be Used For Programming? by SavageBoy: 8:04am On Apr 21, 2022
tensazangetsu20:

I would say at least 8 gig ddr4 ram. The thing is a lot of people never take into consideration the type of ram. They only just look at the size. You can't compare the speed of ddr4 ram to the speed of a ddr2 ram. A laptop with an SSD to load things faster and at least a sixth generation core i3. If you can't get these things no need to fret just get what your money can afford and switch the operating system to Linux at least you also get to learn Linux administration while coding which is another in demand skill set.

Okay,thanks
Mine is a 8Gb DDR3 RAM
I guess I'm good to go.
Programming / Re: Which Laptop Can Be Used For Programming? by SavageBoy: 6:43am On Apr 21, 2022

Lol I was using an 8 gig ram folio and I almost lost my job. A very little Gatsby repo I got in my first job will take 2 hours to startup and that's even after I upgraded the ram. Before I upgraded the ram, it will take 6 hours. Once it's open and I start working, I will get ram errors and my computer will start to hang very seriously. To manage things, I had to make sure I had a maximum of 3 tabs open on chrome and one or two components files open on vscode. Infact I couldn't even run vscode and localwp together. It was a recipe for disaster.

When my boss was getting frustrated no one told me to change laptops. For toy apps you will enjoy it but once you want to start doing anything advanced, you will cry. I have a nairalander too here who was learning coding. Very good and dedicated guy. He was using a 4 gig pavilion. He couldn't learn react as the laptop was frustrating him.

So Chief, what's your recommendation of the most suitable laptop specs??

LOL I am around o, I just read posts o. I have actually been preparing for interviews have a lot of them and its all DSA based so need to leetcode after work so I can pass. I am looking for my japa job.

Chief I've gotten a Laptop, a core i5 system. I'm starting with Front end web Dev,and I'm making use of Freecodecamp, Odin project, MDN and YouTube. I know you've always being emphasizing on learning DS&A,as it's not only help one become a better programmer, but it's also a sure path to earning well.

But at what point in my learning journey should I start learning DS&A? Is it before or after I've learned JavaScript?
