ypzilanti: The average American would not support a pardon for a government thief by his former subordinate (now President). I guess since you support such, your are waaayyyy smarter than them.LOL... You dont hv a clue of what you are talking about. American Presidents' records of granting pardon to persons whose crimes mk Thief Alams look like a saint (including for corruptn), dwarfs wateva GEJ or any oda Nigerian President hv eva done in dis respect. Go read a book or smthing, Or beta still, use d Google. Y'wud be amazd..... Dis GEJ's decision can be condemd in d Context of Nigeria (emphases on d emboldend) witout turning FACTS on its head |
LOL..d US Govt shld be d last govt to 'condemn' anoda country's use of d instrument of pardon to 'forgive' criminals; their record of such pardons, even for persons with worst crimes than Thief Alams, is less than ideal for such pontificatn. Besides, I doubt d US Embassy wud be dumb enuf to 'condemn' a host country's internal decision from a TWITTER account........all dese is without prejudice to d very condemnable act of d granting Pardon to Thief Alams though.. |
ayox2003: Ofcourse. But u know captions are meant to captivate. International readers didn't even know it was a presidential pardon until they read it. Just read through comments there.Guy, cool down. Comments from whom rili? US citizens maybe? Same US where a sitting President grantd 'Unconditional Pardon' to d immediate pass President (who was his immediate boss) for crimes even worse than those Thief Alams was convictd for; and what was worse, d pardon was grantd to even prevent Nixon from even bn prosecutd in court. Is dat d citizens of a country who are commenting. Read tru how Presidents the world ova grant pardons almost indiscremently. Virtuali all past US Presidents (except 2 and dats even cos they die early in office) hv grantd Pardon to an average of 100 persons (spys, tax cheats, corrupt officials, murderers, prisoners of conscience, etc), sm of dem very controversial; hell, even Bill Clinton grantd pardon to his own Brother who was convictd of Possession of concaine. Guy, they are all POLITICIANS. GEJ is d 1st politician i hv eva supportd, and i did it wit d knowledge dat he wud disappointe me at times. This is one of those times, and except it becomes a pattern and d bad overwhelmes d good Or i no longa see a clear path to where he's taking us, i wud not withdraw support... |
Bash Me: I hope all the Nigerians who voted Jonathan in r sure enjoying the benefits they expected of him since his assumption to office. May God Help U All, Judases....Yes, we are. Even though i didnt vote for him last time, his Admin is by providing real benefits than oda Admins in at least d last 20yrs, regardless of what d ongoing Media propaganda pounds on yr head. If sm of u honestly bliv dat sm of us wud even tink of reducing our support cos of an indiscretn (one which I completely disagree with by d way), then you are on a rili loooong thing. Dat ain't going to happen; certainly, not cos of dis.. @topic, cud smone plz tell Okupe to SHUT d fvnk up for now? |
It is amazing dat sm persons are still arguing that CLEMENCY is same as PARDON, ff d well scriptd deceit of an article by SR. Any person with d minutest idea of d Law wud know d diff bw d two....dis is witout prejudice to d fact dat d Pardon grantd Alams was d wrong move though |
Interesting.... |
asha 80: ) enugu onitsha expressway? Plied lagos to benin recently and i have doff my heart to works minister though.Enugu-Onitsha?? Is that road not bn reconstructd? |
konn: they should not remodell only airports they should also remodel all the dilapidated roads killing thousands of people on a daily basis across the countryHow many of the Critical Federal Roads, most of which hv bn abandond for decades, hv u seen that is not bn workd on as we speak?? |
So? |
chucky234: In 2011 Italy expenditure were peg at US$27.34bn while Nigeria's expenditure for same year was US$31.9bn,why can't they give us something of equal standard or something close to what is obtainable in Italy.Bros, plz: did you just say dat d total National Italy Budget Expenditure is $27.34bn?? |
Typical pdp way of thinking the people don't matter in this case. They didn't even bothered to ask why the people attacked the embassy. Can't even be bothered anymore self with this Nigerian situation.
@emboldened, What is one of d main purpose of d Investigative panel?? You chaps shld learn to keep yr mouths SHUT, abeg.. |
*smh* |
Great idea.... |
This is coming from an ACN Senator, right?? |
It wud be a shame if it is true |
thelastPope: Great news bro! Do you have any info onNo, dont know of a specific day; actuali, dont tink there is rili any specific date... The DISCOs hv to 1st pay 25% of d bid prize within 14 working days from d date d Final bid documents were signd (it was supposd to be March 14 i tink, but hv bn shiftd to March 21). They wud then hv 90 days within which to pay d remaining 75% and then take ova what is legally their companies now. Its likely that sm wud pay b4 odas, so there wud be diff dates for each of d bid winners to fully tk ova. I bliv all d processes shld be complete bw May- June.... |
Good. Very Good |
Very, very, very, very GOOD development.... The ongoing Power Reforms just scored anoda BIG one. The investing community hv just heavd a Big sign of Relief.. |
tatosh: This gold wrist watch was given to GEJ by David Mark with public funds. Just when u think you've seen the worst of this governments waste, there is always something worse.SHUT ya mouth @emboldend. U chaps shld learn to keep yr mouths SHUT if u dont know what d fvnk u are talkin about... Lawd! |
Heard they are actuali digitizing their records currently, a process they hope to complete dis yr....no doubt dis shld be d norm. Hope they complete d process.. |
Congratulations, Ma. Like I hv always maintaind here, she is one of d very few REAL deals standing, in d face of d many Emergency ones today. Consistent and truly principled fighter... Very, very well deservd |
Hmmm?? This is nice. Guys following and commenting on very own 'local' league... |
nameo: A week or so ago, I saw this article, which I believe is also in the spirit of the Implementation of this Oronsaye's Report. This is not d full implementatn. They are probably trying to implement it in bits cos sm of d agencies are Legal Entities that can only be properly scrappd by d National Assembly (its even there in d article).... I also wud want to see d full WHITE paper of d report too.. |
Good. Very Good... At last. |
Established in 1979 to cater for a traffic of over 200 passengers daily, the Benin Airport is being remodeled by the Federal Government to now accommodate about 400 passengers at a time. Briefing members of the National Good Governance Tour at the Airport on Sunday, the Airport Manager, Mr. Ayodele Sunday said “because of the improvement in the socio-economic activities of the State it was impossible to accommodate users of the airport. He said for a very long time the airport was more or less abandoned. “We thank God that we have a President and also a Minister (Aviation) that is very visionary and they are agents of transformation. “If you were here 11years ago, it was actually an airport that one would consider in shambles. It was totally neglected. It is an airport that now goes along with a lot of compliments. Before, we did not have Airconditioning, now we do. The conveyor belt will come, and just yesterday we also took delivery of 1000KVA generator and everything has been going on smoothly. He said previously the airport only had Arrival and Departure halls but now it has a public concourse. “Apart from the completed Departure and Arrival halls, also completed are the ticketing/airline offices. In addition, also being constructed simultaneously is a new control tower as well as improved weather forecast equipment and new terminal building. He equally informed that to raise air safety, a Wind Shear Alarm System has been installed at the airport. Sunday further stated that total VHF coverage has also been achieved at the Airport. According to him, the console the airport started with has been replaced with the new equipment. “An aircraft that now takes off from Lagos can contact Benin. All the controllers are now very busy because Benin is an enroute station. Aircrafts going to Port Harcourt, going to Enugu, Asaba, Warri are being controlled here. While commending the work done so far, the Nigeria Union of Journalists President, Mallam Mohammed Garba assured that the media would follow up on the project to verify that the commissioning takes place in two weeks as promised by the airport manager. The Minister of Works, Arc. Mike Onolememen, who hales from Edo State praised the aviation Minister for totally transforming the Benin airport. “If you used to know what the Benin airport used to look like and what it is today you will better appreciate the works that has been done here. It is a very good sign of the many good things that will happen not only in the Aviation Sector but indeed other sectors of the national economy as encapsulated in the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan”, the Works Minister stated. “My only plea to FAAN is that they develop a means of sustaining this development because sustainability is key”, he added. The Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku noted that the country was now having standard airports that could measure up with those all over the world. He said “The airports before now were like poultry sheds. If you go to old Akure Airport you would know what that kind of vision was. And an airport must have space for the operation of other businesses around the airport. I want to commend the Minister of Aviation again, Princes Stella Oduah for her drive and what she had done in our airports. “This is the 11th airport under transformation. Kano has been commissioned, Lagos has been commissioned and Benin is virtually ready for commissioning with the exception of the lighting system which is being done to ensure this place has light to carry the new A.Cs. “We also have 100 percent radar coverage of Nigerian Airspace now. Anyone who flies into Nigeria from anywhere, we will pick you on our radar. This has been done in the last two years to ensure safety. Responding to a question the Information Minister said Nigeria was not the only country having airports within city vicinity. He said “It is our belief that God helping us, because even accidents could still occur with the most equipped airports. There are certain elements that are beyond human control but as we get more equipment, better aircrafts, better safety equipment accidents will reduce to the barest minimum. He said the Ministry of Aviation, Private Sector operators and banks were working together to access newer aircrafts, pointing out however that the issue was not necessarily with the age of an aircraft but maintenance http://fmi.gov.ng/nggt-edo-fg-upgrades-benin-airport-to-service-400-passengers/ |
Them wan go celebrate another 'Shed' they have hurriedly painted with water paint to deceive Nigerians Abeg people should go see what regional airports are like in Europe and ask if what the FG did in Benin Airport is even worth reporting . ...... Mediocre. Has GAT in Lagos felt any better since the commissioning of the uncompleted building ? An airport is more than chairs and desk and floor tiles..... GEJ and His 40 laptop gangs should understand this.... Arrant nonsense Does this look like a 'shed' that was 'hurriedly painted with water paint to deceive Nigerians'?? Established in 1979 to cater for a traffic of over 200 passengers daily, the Benin Airport is being remodeled by the Federal Government to now accommodate about 400 passengers at a time.http://fmi.gov.ng/nggt-edo-fg-upgrades-benin-airport-to-service-400-passengers/ |
Hehehehehehehehe..... They hv ran away, abi? Oya, @Omo-koko repeat dat yr commendatn again, this time replacing d 'fake' awardee with d real one... D; ![]() |
hercules07: The total still stands at 67 billion sha, anyway, we need to look at why our "reserves" are this low during this boom period.NO. Plz read tru d article again. The ECA is a SUBSET of Foreign Reserves. She admittd that much in dis article. If we say that today that the Reserves is $48bn, we also mean that that is INCLUSIVE of almost $11bn in d ECA- you dont add d $11bn to $48bn and say d Reserves is $59bn. This was exactly d point sm of us hv bn trying to get across to FRUSTRATED 'SUBHUMANS' like @Demdem.... There was NEVER $67bn Reserves at any time. OBJ left a little above $45bn (ECA inclusives) |
Its so pathetic that people are always blinded by tribal and religious allegiances. We shldnt care abt who d president is. What we shld care abt is service delivery. The rehabilitation of airports started in 2009. The invitation to tender, selection process, and mobilization fees were all paid in 2009 when Yar Adua was d president. So all those attributing d project to GEJ shld rather praise him 4 continuity of governance. However, we shldnt care abt who starts or complete a project or d tribe where he's from. We shld rather make our leaders deliver on their campaign promises.
This is a LIE. You guys shld stop these nonsense talk already... The contracts for Remodeling of Airports in Nigeria were given in late 2011/early 2012 by d current Aviation Minister. Yar'adua had NOTHING to do wit it |
I just dey laugh. So its not $67bn, but $45bn (since d ECA is a SUBSET of d Foreign Reserves as she just admittd). The Govt guys were right aftall.... By d way, what took Ezekwesili this long to mk dis clarification. She shld be careful so that Politics and a quest for Power by sm people, do not destroy whateva reputatn she has of not bn friviolous..... Ova now to those Resident IJIOTS who were arguing with sm of us when dis issue were trending then. @Gbawe, @Demdem, @Omo-koko, @Lacasa, @Seanten1, @Garriman, etc |
