I can remember, if many have forgotten the pressure mounted by amaechi as chairman of the then governors' forum on madam iweala to allow givernors share the excess crude money when the woman advised they save the money for the raining day. This man threatened the woman with everything and she had to succumb to them and allowed them embezzle the money but warned jonathan of grave consequences before he approved it.

APC with the recent glaring heart breaking revelations and unprecedented insecurity in our land coupled with massive resignation of our gallant soldiers and death of several of them are a proof that apc is now worse than the PDP in all aspects. Ministry of Labour is supervising the recruitment process making sure NDE set a fair level playing field for all prospective applicants who are majorly uneducated and highly illiterate. The current process/guideline was agreed upon by the Management of NDE and Keyamo as the representative of the supervising Ministry. The problem of the country right now is buhari, during his first tenure he keeps on blaming saraki and the 8th assembly for his incompetence. The problem of this country, since our 4th republic has always been the national assembly. OBJ had problem with them until he devised some undemocratic means of dealing with them via 'ghana must go' and 'banana peel' methods.

Under GEJ, the lawmakers had some clashes with the executive to the extent that they accused some ministers for refusing to appear whenever they were invited. Allison Maduekwe was one of the ministers so accused.

Under Buhari, the problem has persisted. Now the question is, why should lawmakers seek to be contractors either by themselves or through proxies. The doctrine of conflict of interests come into mind when people who ought to supervise processes are engaged in the process implementation.

The day our national assembly members shed their primitive inclination to use their positions to amass wealth, that day will sign post the development of this country.

The lawmakers have a great role to play in making sure that the executive arm does the right thing at all times; and to play this role effectively, the lawmakers have to be above board at all times so that they can always go to equity with clean hands.

Note that America did not just start working because Americans voted young or old leaders.

Americans, regardless of age, continually work towards making America great. America is far from being a perfect country but the citizens see their country as a work-in-progress and therefore continually engage the authorities on areas at variance with the perfect country they seek to build.

Regardless of the age grade of our leaders, the country may not move forward until we start challenging obnoxious policies. What stops from occupying the streets of Nigeria with the irresponsible budgeting for the refurbishment of the national assembly building at a time when the economy is suffering as a result of covid-19?

With respect to the death of George Floyd see the way Americans demonstrated their non-acceptance of police brutality. But for the intervention of the American masses, the policeman responsible for Floyd's death would never have been charged at all.

Police brutality has always occurred in Nigeria and it isn't gonna stop until we all say NO.

The key is that, regardless of the ages of our leaders - we must continually request from them to do the right thing and when they fail to listen we should the instrument of demonstration to force them to do the right thing.

Senator McCain contested for the post of the President of the United States even though he lost against Barack Obama.

Old people and young people should be allowed to contest as it is their inalienable right; competence, track record, integrity and other important factors should guide our choices.

The few young people that have found their ways to government haven't shown any radical departure from status quo, in terms of performance.
