There is no justification to kill anyone, and trust me, hostility doesn't pay anyone, no body or group has a monopoly of violence, the Nigeria police comprises of Igbos, Yoruba and all other tribes, what happens when something like this happen to one of your brothers in another state, will you find it this comical!

Ronaldo is good no doubt, but we all have to leave sentiments aside and agree to the fact that this year was just not his year,

The original post was not talking about this year's ballon d'or; the post agreed that this year's ballon d'or was more realistic.

The post only contended that last year's d'or should have gone to Ronaldo.
PoliticsRe: Senator Fadahunsi: Northern Borders Are Greatest Threat To Nigeria by teepain: 12:08pm On Dec 03, 2019

You have been trapped exactly where Daily Post intended to imprison you with their deliberately phony headline!

The article proper quotes the senator saying our land borders and waterways are porous and letting in illegal arms. He specifically mentioned; Badagry, Epe, Warri, Patani, Sapele, Port Harcourt, Eket, Oron Lokoja, up to Adamawa & Kebbi inland waterways. He only referred to Potiskum animal market as an example of our porous land borders.

However, the newspaper chose as headline screamer "Norther Borders are Greatest Threat to Nigeria" which is not what the senator said!

How do people choose to do these much harm to their own country? Do you guys hate Nigeria these much? Is the media (social & traditional) wishing for a bloodbath in this country?
I weep for this country and the people who deliberately twist information. I wonder if Badagry, Epe, Warri, Patani, Sapele, Port Harcourt, Eket and Oron are part of the north. These places I mentioned were part of the porous borders the Senator mentioned but the reporter and the editorial board mischeviously gave the article a misleading title.

I do not have the facts as to which of the borders are most porous, whether the northern or southern borders, however anybody with the reliable statistics should avail us of the facts and take ownership of such authorship.

It is the height of mischief and unprofessionalism to twist another person's interview to suit the false narratives of a reporter.

When u understand the role of the union then u will understand their point of view. The union protects and fights for the lecturers not the Fg. Who can become a slaver driver overnite.
Ideally, the union ought to fight and protect the rights of the lecturers but theunion has derailed from those aims and objectives.

These days, the union fights to promote pecuniary interests and to cover fraudulent practices of members.

How can any sane ASUU fight against the appointment of external auditor of the accounts of the university by the government claiming that they are autonomous and only the council can appoint auditors.

There are friends that I know who have left the shores of this country for 10 years (some for postdoc and other reasons) and above and they still get their salaries as lecturers of these universities. Mind you, some of them have fully relocated and just come around from time to time to maintain some form of presence.

We need to see ASUU’s perspectives is the Fg doing this to weaken the union? Have more control over the lecturers. I don’t trust this government’s motives smtmes.

I know there are positives bt are there any negatives?
The pessimism on this issue is alarming. The sanitization of the FG's public finance should be welcomed by all; this government has about 3 years to the end of it's life but the IPPIS and it's benefits would live on forever.

How can universities receive funding from government but refuse regulatory and administrative directives.

Like government said, Union did not employ anyone government did. So whoever does not like his salary should listen to Union and not his or her employee

SalamRushdie:
Nonsense !!! The US govt is not after Onyema because he made large purchases , infact they were aware from the onset that he had brought 20 million dollars into an American bank to buy an aircraft because he submitted a copy of his LC to them, the problem is that instead of using the money to buy the plane he now disbursed it it to various other account and that was were he breached their anti money laundering laws ...
Thanks for this post. While I am always on the side of the legal Maxim that "all men are innocent until proven guilty", I am nonetheless disturbed by the attempts to rewrite the charge sheet by Allen Onyeama's camp.

This original poster's attempt to mislead the readers as to why CEO Onyeama was flagged is pedestrian and is damaging to the man's situation. The U.S authorities disclosed why he was charged ( and this was for forged documents).

Between yesterday and today, I have read 2 accounts from Onyeama's camp or people sympathetic towards his cause - one from his lawyers and this other one right here, and disturbingly both accounts have not addressed the vexatious issue of forged documents with intent of laundering money through the U.S financial systems.

I do hope that the CEO Air Peace comes out of this unscathed, but I implore his PR handlers, lawyers and all those who sincerely love him to desist from steering the arguments towards non-issues and find a way to convince the American authorities that there was no forgery as alleged.

This is wrong because the killing is extrajudicial. However, people who peddle mind altering drugs are themselves not different from killers; because the drugs they sell usually lead to loss of lives either directly or indirectly. A lot of violent crimes are committed under the influence of these drugs.

When there is hue and cry about the side effects of a type of drug, drug dispensers and peddlers have a social responsibility to try and sanitize the supply of such without being goaded. Everything shouldn't be about profit making all the times.

I equally pray that his performance in governing Bayelsa would justify the support he enjoyed across party lines from bayelsans. That said, I don't think that his inability to speak flawless English is a sign of intellectual shortfall or deficit. He may be strong with numbers or he may possess some other magnificent cognitive ability; I have seen quite a number of intelligent people who couldn't speak or write flawless English and I have seen some people adept at speaking English language while they score low in other areas.

Good one there. Sex before marriage is a sin, am surprise that some people saw nothing wrong with that.
Thank you Babcock for maintaining your moral standard.
I completely agree that premarital sex is a sin and not a crime. Hence, God reserves the right to punish sins while men punish crimes.

While premarital sex is condemnable, it is not the only sin; can members of management of Babcock University stand tall and claim that they don't commit sins in their day to day activities?!

If they commit sins, even once in a while in their daily activities; which human being punishes them for their sins and not crimes?

Remember the parable of the prostitute that was to be mobbed but Jesus rescued with the following words: "let him that hath no sin cast the first stone"!

I am planning to marry her. We Have courted for one year.

I have caught her stealing my money twice but in all cases, she wept, knelt and begged me, saying it is the spirit of succubus and incubus that makes her do that.

I forgave her because I am mad over this girl. I so love her.

Now I caught her via her phone chats, that she has been deleting her chats with a guy she claims is her classmate. After not talking to her for two days, she wept and knelt to beg me, confessing that, the guy has proposed to her and that the spirits of succubus and incubus made her delete the chats.

She says I should take her to a prophet for deliverance.

I so love her

Please what do you advise?

Thanks

AgricultureBroiler Farmer Needed by teepain(op):
Good morning fellow nairalanders.

A friend who is into broiler processing needs a farmer that can supply him the following specifications of broiler:

1. Broilers' liveweight must be from 3.5kg and above.

2. Broilers must not be more than 10 weeks

3. Farmer must have the capacity to supply 1000 birds of the specifications every month.

If you can meet this expectation kindly mention this post.

Additional information:
He is located in Lagos therefore he would prefer farms that are either in Lagos or close to Lagos. For farmers outside Lagos the price per kg on offer would determine the workability.
CrimeRe: Taxify Driver Awaiting Youth Service Loses Sight To Robbers by teepain: 5:31pm On Nov 11, 2019
nikkybrownme:
A graduate of Physics from the Kogi State University, Tomi Waziri, 27, has lost his eyesight to an armed robbery attack while in traffic in the Apongbon area of Lagos.

According to Punch, Waziri, who was waiting for his call up letter from the National Youth Service Corps for the mandatory one year service, was said to have approached his sister’s husband to engage him as a Taxify ride hailing service driver until he would be mobilised for the scheme.

It was learnt that on September 12, two armed robbers attacked him while in traffic and shot him in the face.

Waziri was said to be conveying a female passenger to the Papa Ajao area of Mushin around 8.00 p.m., when the robbers attacked him.

They were said to have left immediately they shot him.

The victim narrated his experience, “I live at No. 35 Daudu Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi. I was robbed in traffic on the Apongbon Bridge, Lagos, on September 12, 2019, by two young men around 8pm. I was a Taxify (now Bolt) driver and I had a female passenger in the car. We were going to Papa Ajao, Mushin.

“One of the robbers pointed a gun at me; I was about giving him my phone, when he shot me in the face and collected the phone. The pellets shattered the window and hit me in my two eyes.

“The robbers ran away immediately I was shot. My passenger became scared and panicky. The next thing I noticed was that she disembarked from the vehicle and began calling for help as she was running away.

“I was bleeding profusely without help. I came down from the vehicle and shouted for help; nobody answered. After about five minutes, two policemen showed up.

“They were the ones who took me to the Military Hospital, Yaba, in my vehicle. One of the policemen drove us to the hospital. While driving, the other was busy holding me and saying kind words to me so that I wouldn’t give up.

“When we got there, I was given first aid to stabilise my condition.

“I lost vision immediately I was shot. After treatment, it is still the same, we are only hoping for God’s intervention. The vehicle belongs to my sister’s husband. I used to remit money to him pending when I would get the NYSC call-up letter.”

According to him, his brother-in-law has been supportive, and is always around for him.

Waziri noted that the doctors at the Eye Foundation, Isaac John Street, Ikeja GRA, told him that if he had been treated earlier, he would have regained sight in his right eye.

He added, “I went for surgery at the Eye Foundation. Before then, I was being treated at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, and I was about to do the surgery at LASUTH, but there were delays there.

“It was through God’s help that we were able to do it at the Eye Foundation. And when we got there, we were told that if we had come for the surgery earlier, I would have been seeing with at least my right eye. LASUTH was just negligent and wasting time.

“What the doctors are saying now is that we can only hope for the best; what I know is that there is no vision now.”

Waziri noted that his nose was treated at LASUTH, adding that there were still pellets in his face and two teeth, as there were pellets logged in the gum.

He said the doctors told him that if he wanted to get permanent treatment for his damaged teeth, he would have to pay N350,000 for each.

Concerning the pellets in his face, he said the doctors advised him that any attempt to remove them would result in more damage, adding that his body would expel them naturally.

The Nigerian masses are the enemies of their fellow masses.

A struggling young man waiting for NYSC call up who chose to live responsibly by engaging in legitimate hustle and some idiotic elements felt the appropriate thing to do was to rob him at gun point to the extent of shooting him after he had released his phone to them. I do not worry about the leaders anymore but the followers who will always harm their fellows. No sense of comradeship among the masses!

Criminals don't bring criminals to justice! And not all criminals on Earth will do time before their demise even though they have done the crimes.

What is more important is to have a new and upcoming generation that would eschew those vices of the older generation and forge a better future for themselves and the generations coming after them.

At a time in America, there was a generation of white Americans who couldn't condone sitting on the same seat with a colored person; but as times went by, a new generation developed who didn't see anything wrong in a black man becoming the President of America.

Worry not so much about the ageing corrupt politicians. Nature has a way of taking care of them for death is a debt that everyone must pay.

But when these terrible, corrupt politicians die off as a result of old age, who are we going to replace them with?

Worry more about the young cyber criminals (aka Yahoo boys) and other criminally minded youths because there is no limit to the damage they can do with their I'll gotten wealth; some of them would become politicians and get into elective offices and other key positions. Some of them will set up public quoted companies with the intention of swindling their shareholders. Some of them will get themselves into the country's police force, army or dss.
