Chukazu: Barely one week ago, I told a friend the exact words" oil a curse " for Nigeria and he goes blabbing without deep thinking.
If I were the president of this country, my first assignment would be to put an indefinite embargo on everything that has to do with oil exploration so that we can look inward and harness our human capital
NORWAY has more that 1 trillion dollars of sovereign wealth fund most from oil that it does not even touch talk less of spending, because they have learnt to build their economy without oil proceeds... Year in year out, the most "livable" countries in the world have always come from the SCANDINAVIAN NATIONS AND NOT FROM THE OIL RICH ARAB NATIONS.. and we don't even have upto a billion of our own savings
Every single budget is "premised" on oil meaning without it we can't think can you give us a blueprint on how to achieve this task? How do we become less oil dependent and more innovation driven? Even if we put embargo on oil exploration, can a nation with the level of inherent corruption make any meaningful progress. |

Some people don't use carsh for offering this days and those that make pledge you don't expect them to packing bundles from home to church!!!
Do you know some people pay their tithe in million? Do you espect a man who pay million as a tithe to start bringing in "ghana must go" to church? Common this is digital age man!
Some people don't like to be noticed with plenty carsh around!
Least i forget there is still what is called a cheque book, one cheque leaflet quietly put in an envelope will even attract less attention, than the process of entering your pin onto the pos machine in church! |

Modsenemy: Even if I don't want to read meaning to the ATM by the church , but a POS inside the church is no no for me .
Anyways COZA Abuja has an ATM right within the church premises . That's what I call a business enterprise headed by a business mogul who is maximizing his talent as some sort of a good PUBLIC SPEAKER to deceive people into believing he is a pastor.
Sometimes I wonder it they themselves are actually aware that they are mere good speakers but not pastors Truth be told if not for the economic situation of the county most of these pastors assuming they were living in America, would have found their true calling which is simply MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKERS... but they reasoned that there is more money to be made from being a pastor especially with the "TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED" word to deceive their gullible followers. |

zicoraads: I had been thinking about things getting better until recently. Already on it. Hopefully, I should leave next year. . My friend take @ MrEverest advice as a loving brotherly advise. Forget all those who say there is so much potentials, what is the use of potentials when the basic amenities to do business such as constant electricity, water and Security are not there. i too was on the path of relocating and i had commenced the processing, before the foolish bug of "i luv my country & so much potentials" got me and invested so much money, that when i see the little,... even let me be the truthful the negative returns from my investment, i have at moment felt so sad, because of my children, who would have been guaranteed qualitative free education in some countries such as Canada that even surpass most of the best paying private schools in Nigeria. You start business, and your staff dream is how to scam you, you contract work to contractors to do office fittings, they also want to scam, your staff refuse to align with the vision you are trying to build. Banks will refuse to borrow you money, unless you settle the loan officer upfront. All the government agencies from federal to state are just interested in what they can collect in form of levies, they do not care if your business is even making money or not. You can stay in Nigeria, if you are sure of access to juicy government contract, but if not and you truly love your children please relocate to Canada or Australia. IF you relocate to Canada and you do not succeed in an enterprise or venture, guess what, they have in place what are called "SAFETY NETS", if you fail in business in this country, you are DOOMED! If i had read this post some months back i would have saved myself the sleepless nights i sometimes go through. Truth be told most of my colleagues upon leaving the organisation simply relocated out of the country. One of the guys that decided to stay lost all his investment in the country and today hops around from one bus stop to the other as he has no car again...even though he worked in the highest paying industry in Nigeria. ALL AND SUNDRY ARE ADVISED |

dxplora: Can Pastor Adeboye offer the Ooni a seat on the altar at camp, talk less of his own seat. The two men are great but each must exalt his office. The throne of Ooni is beyond the person of the King it's a generational stool and represents a people, so must not be brought to disrepute under any guise. If we all agree that it's right that Ooni gave his seat to Baba Adeboye, what will happen when Bishop Oyedepo, Pastor Olukoya, Pst Kumuyi, Cardinal Okogie, Sunday Mbang etc visit him. All the aforementioned are great men of God too. Will it not be embarrassing for our entire race. I respect Pastor Adeboye and other anointed men of God but our kings must learn to know the difference between respect and traditions. Pastor Adeboye is a regular visitor on OAU campus, but I have never seen the VC offering him (Adeboye) the VC's seat. Will a Prof Yemi Osinbajo give his VP seat to Pst Adeboye. My humble submission. Thanks wise words... but this is Nigeria anything can happen! |
Politics › Re: Buhari's Hand Over Letter In February Vs Buhari's Hand Over Letter In May. by TheAlchemist: 2:38am On May 10, 2017 |
sweetgala: He wrote another letter on another occasion that still carries the same meaning.
Semantics is very important in this case
The primary function of the president is to coordinate the activities of government and execute the laws as set by the Constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria
So the president transmitting a letter in which the first paragraph refers to section 145 of the Constitution which details the transfer of power already satisfied all constitutional requirements
Making a statement of fact that the VP assumes full control and coordination of all "affairs of state" is correct action.
An orchestra no matter the diversity of talent is presided over by the "coordinato/conductorr" so the word coordinate and preside are mutually same But in an office environment would you rather want to be "THE COORDINATOR OR THE MANAGER". It is even the Manager (MD) that determines whether or not the coordinator/conductor will coordinate the orchestra... so i guess there is a cabal saying though the president is away, they are still in charge. I think Buhari's choice of word is quite sad. He should have maintained consistency as contained in his first letter referring to osinbajo as the acting president. |

MayorofLagos: I continue to hammer on this issue for past two years. God forbid if Buhari passes, that the Northerners will agree to submit to Osinbajo leadership.
Osinbajo is not sorrounded with class and authority, at all!
Presidency comes with tradition and culture and in Nigeria Yoruba are the fashionistas, we command couture taste. In traditional Yoruba culture Osinbajo is not dressed formally in this picture. This appearance diminishes the grandeur that should naturally associatr with his office and role.
Imagine the VP of a western country coming out in ordinary shirt and tie, no suit...and does that everyday and wherever he goes and regardless of the occassion. The equivalent of that image is what Osinbajo does when he comes out in this taxi driver attire.
Now, who is that guy behind him in blue kaftan? It just gets worse!! In his case picture President of Nigeria visiting the West and the assistant to their President appears in the office with just shirt, no tie, no suit. Thats what we have here. Na.k.ed!! No style, just dry!
Very irritating! Tasteless, classless, devoid of any appeal...just dry! I just love vice president Osinbanjo simplicity. It is not what you wear outwardly that defines you, but the ideas that you carry inside of you.... I want to believe here is a man full of ideas. Between a choice of flamboyancy and simplicity, i will vote for a simple and quiet life all the time. The Majority of honest hard working Nigerians can easily identify with our vice president dress style... God Bless Nigeria. |

Nobody whether rich or poor, strong or weak, Master or Servant, deserves the kind of treatment meted out by the Oba of Lagos to the Ooni... but the Ooni has to do serious personal reflections about what could have lead to such embarrassment.
If the Ooni gallivants less around the country and outside, he would start bringing more respect to the exalted position he occupies. He should consider the position of Ooni not about personal enjoyment but an opportunity to bring back the lost glory of a Nation.
The more scarce you make yourself, the more mystique or aura you build around yourself. Royal fathers are not politicians so they can do without the adulation of men.

Unfortunately, the business did not fly mainly due to demands for bribes I sincerely felt will compromise my upbringing. Being someone who cannot seat still doing nothing, I dusted myself up and got another job with another IOC. But i'll rather be in business for myself!! I also left an IOC, my entrepreneurial journey has not been funny at all. Every way i turn, i just seem to meet obstacles from 2 years crazy lease charges in advance, failed promises on facility maintenance agreement... hardly getting the constant light or water they promised.. so many issues, suppliers offering little or no margin, then scammers promising what they can not deliver. Staff disloyalty... How many CCTV camera must i install. Security and safety issues, the lists are endless. But i intend to battle with everything i got... wink2015: Ritual killing that often happen in the southern part of Nigeria is fast creeping into Northern Nigeria. Hausa people hardly engage in ritual killings. I do not know if it is people from southern Nigeria that are moving up north to commit this heinous crimes.
If this acts is actually committed by our northern brothers that is the Hausa or other northern tribes then it is quite strange as northerners hardly kill for rituals.
The federal government of Nigeria on its part should invest in forensic science or technology to get the perpetrators of this wicked crime.
Just this past weeks ritual killings took place in Imo states where women where beheaded with their body part taken for ritual purposes. Ritual killings also took place in Lagos with most of the victims being women.
Government like I said earlier on must not relent in clearing Nigeria of this wicked crime. Which Government? We are in a deep spiritual mess in Nigeria.. Sadly underground ritualism in varying degrees might be part of the untold aspect of our culture. Most of us are ignorant of how evil works. May God forgive us all! |

I am in the process of starting a business centre, my heart had been set on acquiring a sharp photocopier, because i had used it some years back. I sent one of my staff to do intelligence gathering at Unilag, he informed me that virtually all the business centre are using Minolta copier. He came back with this specification Minolta 7040 and Minolta 7222.
I need to know the advantage of this Minolta range of copiers over a sharp 6023n or 6026n.
My major concerns are 1. Toner Capacity... i need a copier that can print lots of volume without using too much toner 2. Toner Cost... which of the brand of copier has the lower toner cost Minolta or Sharp 3. Paper Jam ... Copier that are not susceptible to paper jam 4. Replacement Parts... which copier cost the least to replace or repair.
Which copier would you advise me to go for.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. |
