Lets be frank the Nigerian environment makes running your business a very difficult preposition. The same business that will easily survive in developed countries due to the wonderful financial and economic support structure in place would fail big time in Nigeria. Do you know how difficult it is to access funds for business expansion. If you can not access funds to either rejig or retool your business, how is the business supposed to survive. You would be lucky to find a finance outfit that would give you a loan at less than 30% interest rate P.A.

For those who have a 9 - 5 job, in Nigeria should hug onto their job, running a business with zero security, epileptic power supply and lack of government patronage is no joke.

President Buhari... only come back to Nigeria when your doctors have certified you fit as a fiddle... You can verify with Aisha in the other room! Wishing you speedy recovery.

Let me add that no matter the business you are doing try to do a little market research, gather some data, let your decision be driven by data not emotion. Never rush into business, patience should be the golden rule to avoid fatal mistake.

We must be able to think outside the box in times of crisis, what is happening now in the North is not a Arewa agenda ,the issue is settled and mediated . Some cabals somewhere are by extension using this to settle political scores. Not necessarily. There might be migrant control measures. With 24hrs electricity, real estate will go up, rents will go up, taxes collection will improves if not increased..., Only those that fits and can sustain themselves in a Mega city will be able to stay. Others will go back to farm.

Let me add with 24hours electricity service charge in shopping malls will go down, as the use of generator accounts for a high percentage of the service charge, which will lead to reduce cost of items sold to final consumer, generator prices will see a southward movement, more people would work from their homes, so office rental cost may also go downwards, also food will become more cheaper as homes can preserve their foods longer in fridges, etc....

What people aren't taking into account are the real imperatives for the initial Biafra secession attempt. Whilst the slaughters/programs of 1953 and then 1966 as retribution for the unsuccessful coup attempt by Chukwuma kaduna nzeogwu underscored the need for a safe haven for igbos from the North, there are other factors which often aren't covered:

Ojukwu as many know, was raised in the North and had hausa orientation; similar to Nzeogwu. Such was his orientation, he was well acquainted with their women, reportedly even fathering a hausa/igbo hybrid daughter. Furthermore, he was ajebutter and schooled at Kings College in Lagos, Epsom College in the UK (just outside of London and with very expensive school fees) and then from there attended the renown Oxford University (Lincoln college to be precise). As you can see from this, it is understandable why many questioned his igbo credentials.

Now this fact may be a little less known, but Ojukwu's father was Louis Odimegwu Ojukwu who was a very wealthy man and the founder of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. When you consider that oil was found in Ologbiri LGA - in present day Bayelsa state (circa 1956), which incidentally was part of the original Biafran territory, you can see the 'delicious' opportunities that this presented for the Ojukwu family, especially when you consider all the oil blocks in this region which would have been theirs in the event of a successful secession.

In considering all of the above, keep in mind that Ojukwu was educated to Master's level in the 1950s (unheard of for most Nigerians or people in general at that time), he was a very strategic and intelligent man, and there's no doubt that there would have been other key considerations beyond securing a safe haven for vulnerable igbos based in other parts of Nigeria.

There's more to the above, but let's park it here for now. With regards to Nnamdi Kanu, I hate to say this but I am sceptical about his true motivations for the contemporary Biafran agitation. For one, he has made a number of aimless, provocative ramblings; perhaps this is to test his level of influence, then again who knows. However, would-be Biafrans should ask themselves what he has to offer them before throwing their weight behind him. What sound or remotely sensible economic policies has he proposed?? Meanwhile people are working themselves up into a frenzy, all in the name of identity politics. All I'll say is that make sure you know what you're getting in exchange for supporting him and my advice is to avoid being a 'political chess piece'; you're better than that.

In closing, wars and civil unrests are ALWAYS about securing resources for the victors. If you consider British efforts in the early 19th century to secure Nigeria as a constituent part of the British empire, they were able to neutralise the Northerners, yorubas/midwesterners and the easterners (including Rivers/Bayelsa and Cross Rivers/Akwa Ibom before identity politics led to them assuming a 'south-south' identity) because of the more sophisticated weapons they produced in South London, UK (Woolwich Arsenal to be precise and their workers who manufactured the weapons were the first players for the team we now know as 'Arsenal'), and the motive was resource control. If we look at Ojukwu's efforts, this was motivated by resource control; any civil war (particularly in Africa) or colonial expansion recorded in the last 300 years, has always, always been about resource control. A new Biafra wouldn't bring about peace, but rather it would foreshadow more bloodshed and war; just take a cursory glance at the recently-created South Sudan and it becomes clearer what I'm referring to.

Heroes make sacrifices even with their life .
Onwuateagwu and Azuchie who followed Ojukwu to the airport should have fled too. As a matter of fact, they could be shot dead , but they stayed back and watched their master run.

According to obasanjo's account of Onwuateagwu's death, he launched a final attack on nigerian troop and got killed .

Onwuateagwu's should be the real hero to be celebrated by Igbos and not Ojukwu.

I've thought it over. I don't think federalism will save the country. What will save Nigeria is a formation of an identity. A new identity. Where everyone is a Nigerian and not Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa. Where the people are homogeneous in culture and spirituality. You can never live in peace with this proportion of Christians and Muslims in one place. It's impossible. You'd have to collapse both for Nigeria to work. You'd have to collapse our cultures that are antagonistic.

But is it worth it? Why should we collapse our cultures, languages, traditions and spirituality to forge a nation if we can independently exist and coexist as peaceful neighbours? Is it worth it? Federalism, or as they say, restructuring(of structures) will only affect us economically and have no material effect on our immaterial mind where peace is built. Let's see. But I've not seen these two religions coexist peacefully in one country. It's either one is 80 and the other 20. 50/50 or 45/55 can never be peaceful. It's impossible. I hope I'm wrong.

We have yoruba muslims and yoruba christians and they live well without any rancor.. One of the key problems with Nigeria is high level of illiteracy in the North, the divide and rule tactics of our leaders.... I honestly believe there is strength in diversity. As i am typing this reply i noticed that all my fingers are not equal, there is the the longer, shorter, medium, fatter, thinner, weaker fingers but with good coordination they allow me to type faster than if i decide to only use one finger.... Lets not underestimate the power in diversity. We need to have a platform for corrupt free elections, we need to fight corruption and not the mere lip service witnessed in the media, need for visionary leaders who can properly coordinate the affairs of this nation and watch Nigeria take its rightful place as an economic/political giant in the world.

By the way I make way more than you are making but the cost of running 24/7 gen and staff salaries and recurring expenses clocks over 500k monthly. So take my advise and move at the speed of light. Coz 500k is not money and you know it. Those who don't earn that think it's money. It is not.
