RiquiPuig: If you are a guy and u struggling financially, please just go and hustle, leave and stop pleasing women, you can get any woman of your choice when you get the money Nigerians are living on survival mode, the problem here is that this man gives me cheater vibes & he is definitely buying nudes from other women. It means he will continue to cheat. She doesn't care now because she hasn't gotten what she wants also. Another Davido/chioma story once again. |

You didn't read the story completely, he sent 3M twice & other cash transfers to process movement. Corporate Nigerian woman won't earn that much in 2 months from any job except branch head. |

Dimaya: Imagine comparing the UK to Nigeria. You need to compare the percentage of daily income spent on food for average citizens in both countries. I am comparing housing not food. UK has housing crisis since 2021, prices have skyrocket but food has always been cheap till this day. It is common for other 1st world countries as well, they don't lack food. Last last you will eat from food stamps. |
Family › Re: They All Mocked Her, Until FG Removed Fuel Subsidy. by tosinhtml: 1:57pm On Jul 06, 2023 |
Mindlog: With the present prices of foodstuffs in the market?.....Yes, low income,
Let me cite an example. Even with the rising cost of living here in the UK, a person who is earning minimum wage of £10.42 per hour will not struggle to feed himself if he is not wasteful. If he works 10hrs daily and his net earning is about £75 for the day, on his way home he can afford to buy 200g of ground egusi for £2, half litre of palm oil for £2.50, ground crayfish for £2, a pack of maggi seasoning (25 cubes) for £1, a pack of dried ugu leaves £2, 1 kilo of hard chicken £3.50, pepper and other condiments £2, then 1.5kg of garri for £3........so what he earned under 2 and half hours can get him a nice pot of egusi soup, he can get 4 meals out of. Uk cost of living is more about crazy housing cost, council tax, energy bills than food. Every country has their own wahala, Nigerian's own is food & fuel. |

Zigzagman: My brother, go back and watch the video. They are laughing because she says she spends more than N4,000 per day on eating out. That means she will be spending over N120,000 per month eating out.
Over N120,000! on just eating out!
How much does the average Nigerian have left from his wages after removing transport fare to work?
that's why they are laughing. She is correct, as she says: she spends more than N4,000 per day on eating out means "Whenever I step outside my house to eat, I spend more than 4000". This doesn't mean she eats outside her house all the time. We all eat outside our houses, but not all the time. You people should try & understand english language. |

CuriousStudent: Lol.. during my final year a plate of rice and meat and moi moi/salad was 800. Bottle water 150. I will not even count transport going and coming to the canteen That is over a thousand naira.
Three times a day is 3000.
I didn't add in between snack or chippies.
Or were people thinking a plate of food( not buka) is less than 500 anywhere?
How much is it to cook a pot of soup or stew? How much is a breakfast? A satchet of Milo and peak milk, 200 naira. Two eggs, 200 naira. A good loaf of bread is from 800 and above(let's assume you eat one-quarter of a bread that is 200 ). Then those that go an extra mile with Titus sardine(600) or hot dogs and baked beans
Those that begin our day with a cup of espresso.
Naija men avoid this woman. Meet the one that you will soak bread inside Lipton or top tea and eat. Please just leave her and go for your class It's not really about class, even in the poorest of places in Lagos EG: Makoko, a plate of food in this new Tinubu's dispensation still cost between 400 - 800. The same amount you quoted. The reason why those guys are surprised is because 99% of the guys in that room eat from their mothers pot. They haven't gone to the market before to purchase anything. They don't pay bills, nothing! That's why when taking feedback from social media, remember to ask for the ages of the people giving you feedback. Most of them are between 16 - 20. |

Foodqueen: It's possible.
She isn't extravagant at all.
Going by the price of commodity, spending 4k per day isn't bad.
May God help us all. The people in that video all look like they live in their parents house & get fed by their parents so they don't know how much food cost. Once you step outside your house in Lagos to eat. You must surely spend close to that daily on food. A loaf of slice bread is around #1000 ish. |

Sulele04: Hello good day sir, please I need your advice.
Like I am just stuck on which path of tech to focus on, I am just jumping from one tech to another.
C#/Asp.net , go, javascript/typescript, python data science/engineering, It is everything here that I have tried, to nah stick to one is a problem maybe because I don't know which is the best in terms of jobs, pay & career.
I need your recommendation on the path for me take, thanks sir. - Research the current job market to identify the programming languages that are in high demand. Someone did the analysis globally here: nairaland.com/7704855/comprehensive-research-junior-jobs-across and C# & Java came out tops. So I'd stick to C# and focus on it. - Go to LinkedIn and Indeed, search the type jobs you want based on country/region and notice the number of results, this is how you know which tech/language has the most jobs. - I personally advice against Python / Data Science. There are few jobs & most companies hire just 1 or 2 people for that role meanwhile Frontend & backend have like 10-20 open positions. Data Science is for media hype! - Apply for non-paid foreign internships on LinkedIn or Indeed if you okay with not making money for now. Then stick to whatever language/tools that company is using & add it to your CV. |

Same reason im learning C++ it's old but still relevant PHP is not something to worry about, you can learn it in a week, I promise you It's that simple. That is one major reason Devs hate it. |

Yes you are correct, which is why I am trying to get more explanation from that guy but he never replied. I was thinking maybe my geography rusty |
Family › Re: What I Noticed In My Neighborhood by tosinhtml: 9:34pm On Jun 27, 2023 |
GEEBITE: Nah you will fail Geography dear. Island definition is a piece of land surrounded by water. While a peninsula is a strait of land jutting into or abutting a body of water. The whole of Island ended at Victoria. Island(oniru) It was landfill work done at Old Maroko that enables the drive friom Victoria Island to Lekki. Epe is not an island as you can drive into Epe from Ijebu ode without crossing a River.
That Sangotedo as Island wont cut it with me,Isnt that the Area LBS is located? In 2007 I abandoned an executive programme as traffic and armed robbers nearly killed me and my colleague that my office enrolled for fhat degree programme. LCC just started their one lane expansion then and the traffic from the Jakande area down to Ajah was horrendous. Sangotedo is after Ajah now so how can that place be part of Island. From Ajah down to Epe is actually surrounded by water. Maybe I am wrong but you can explain to me. When was the landfill work done that V.I was extended to Lekki. So do we also call Lekki part of the Island as well? Since Lekki is technically the same long road that eventually leads to Epe, should we also call Lekki an Island?

"What are the disadvantages of building with PHP and what considerations should one evaluate before settling on a language to learn?"
The only disadvantage is that people dislike PHP & the tech community is against it, they say it encourages bad practices & so on. So I'd advise NOT to learn it. You'd end up becoming jobless, except you want to be a full-time freelancer on Upwork.
AFAIK The language is an awesome language, very fast & easy to use. Most of the good jobs are remote jobs & if the Western tech communties say something is bad, even when you disagree, you have no option.
Most of the backend devs i know that used PHP Laravel have all moved to GO or C#. Java also is getting the hate but because It is mostly used by enterprise & those ones make a ton of revenue, so enterprise companies don't care about the hipster tech community crying about Java being too verbose. |

airsaylongcome: I mean, it’s okay to market yourself and if her saying she has 19 digital skills makes her in-demand, why not!! But some of the items on that list are just pure duplication. There’s Digital Marketing, Facebook Ads & Marketing and Email Marketing. Aren’t all of that simply Digital marketing? Photo Restoration and Video/Photo and Audio editing? It's all repetition to be fair, but that seems like how the Nigerian market is built. Someone that knows little about everything & not in-depth knowledge. Notice she wrote among others at the end, so it is more than 19 skills. If you tell a Nigerian employer that you know IT support, programming in 10 languages, digital marketing & graphic designing, an average employer will jump for joy to hire you quickly, then later start comparing your poor quality work to jobs done in Palo Alto after 3 months lol. Meanwhile paying you one person's salary to do 12 people's job. An HR once asked me why I am asking for this kind of salary for just "building website" that computer village boys do for 5,000 Naira. They were hiring for Full-stack developer then |

boborosky: Amen My personal advice is Don't Marry Her, let her know & move on. The reasons are simple, Inflation has gone more than 16.95% percent in Nigeria, 4th highest in the world Ref: macrotrends.net/countries/NGA/nigeria/inflation-rate-cpi . What this means is that we must work 5 times as hard we did in 2014. A man's salary is not even enough to even take care of a home in Nigeria anymore except you're living a sub-standard life or earning above 1Million naira. Both of you will have to work, do chores, take care of things. You need someone that is ready to work, earn money to keep you both above the water. What happens when you lose your job? Tech companies fired over 40% of their staff last year, this year jobs are hard to come by. What happens if you're the bread winner & your family is waiting for you to always put down the bread & your job is gone for 8 months or more. You will be the alpha & omega of the house, is that what you want? |

You can take the risk if you plan to stay in Nigeria working for max 300k a month or some remote jobs but if you want to leave Nigeria via means of work you can't bypass any developed country's immigration without a degree. It doesn't matter what your degree is in or what grade you have. Just have a degree. I just came across this post & I want to confirm that this is absolutely true.
