Let me cite an example. Even with the rising cost of living here in the UK, a person who is earning minimum wage of £10.42 per hour will not struggle to feed himself if he is not wasteful. If he works 10hrs daily and his net earning is about £75 for the day, on his way home he can afford to buy 200g of ground egusi for £2, half litre of palm oil for £2.50, ground crayfish for £2, a pack of maggi seasoning (25 cubes) for £1, a pack of dried ugu leaves £2, 1 kilo of hard chicken £3.50, pepper and other condiments £2, then 1.5kg of garri for £3........so what he earned under 2 and half hours can get him a nice pot of egusi soup, he can get 4 meals out of.

C#/Asp.net , go, javascript/typescript, python data science/engineering, It is everything here that I have tried, to nah stick to one is a problem maybe because I don't know which is the best in terms of jobs, pay & career.

I need your recommendation on the path for me take, thanks sir.

- Research the current job market to identify the programming languages that are in high demand. Someone did the analysis globally here: nairaland.com/7704855/comprehensive-research-junior-jobs-across and C# & Java came out tops. So I'd stick to C# and focus on it.

- Go to LinkedIn and Indeed, search the type jobs you want based on country/region and notice the number of results, this is how you know which tech/language has the most jobs.

- I personally advice against Python / Data Science. There are few jobs & most companies hire just 1 or 2 people for that role meanwhile Frontend & backend have like 10-20 open positions. Data Science is for media hype!

- Apply for non-paid foreign internships on LinkedIn or Indeed if you okay with not making money for now. Then stick to whatever language/tools that company is using & add it to your CV.

PHP is not something to worry about, you can learn it in a week, I promise you It's that simple. That is one major reason Devs hate it.

The only disadvantage is that people dislike PHP & the tech community is against it, they say it encourages bad practices & so on. So I'd advise NOT to learn it. You'd end up becoming jobless, except you want to be a full-time freelancer on Upwork.

AFAIK The language is an awesome language, very fast & easy to use. Most of the good jobs are remote jobs & if the Western tech communties say something is bad, even when you disagree, you have no option.

Most of the backend devs i know that used PHP Laravel have all moved to GO or C#. Java also is getting the hate but because It is mostly used by enterprise & those ones make a ton of revenue, so enterprise companies don't care about the hipster tech community crying about Java being too verbose.

If you tell a Nigerian employer that you know IT support, programming in 10 languages, digital marketing & graphic designing, an average employer will jump for joy to hire you quickly, then later start comparing your poor quality work to jobs done in Palo Alto after 3 months lol. Meanwhile paying you one person's salary to do 12 people's job. An HR once asked me why I am asking for this kind of salary for just "building website" that computer village boys do for 5,000 Naira. They were hiring for Full-stack developer then

Go to Finland, UK has 60 days to chase you out once your visa expires. Finland gives you residency permit that allows you to stay until that permit is expired whether you have a job or not.

Finland is very cold, that is the only drawback. Uk is warmer.

The reasons are simple, Inflation has gone more than 16.95% percent in Nigeria, 4th highest in the world Ref: macrotrends.net/countries/NGA/nigeria/inflation-rate-cpi . What this means is that we must work 5 times as hard we did in 2014. A man's salary is not even enough to even take care of a home in Nigeria anymore except you're living a sub-standard life or earning above 1Million naira. Both of you will have to work, do chores, take care of things. You need someone that is ready to work, earn money to keep you both above the water. What happens when you lose your job? Tech companies fired over 40% of their staff last year, this year jobs are hard to come by. What happens if you're the bread winner & your family is waiting for you to always put down the bread & your job is gone for 8 months or more. You will be the alpha & omega of the house, is that what you want?

Now there are also so many SLUMS areas in Ajah such as Badore, Ado road etc others. Those places are even less than 700k BUT it is SLUM.

In that same Badore, there are also Estates that are clean and expensive. It is an Urban / Rural area put together.

Op I don't believe in the university like you but dropping out is a foolish decision especially for a Nigerian. Don't allow yourself to be deceived that degree is important even if it's a third class degree. No one cares about your grade just have a degree.

You can take the risk if you plan to stay in Nigeria working for max 300k a month or some remote jobs but if you want to leave Nigeria via means of work you can't bypass any developed country's immigration without a degree. It doesn't matter what your degree is in or what grade you have. Just have a degree.
