Really hard, 3 years relationship, and she has been loyal for as long as I can observe. Here is boring, if i was single, to get a girl here will take time. People mind their business here, where approaching a lady can be termed harassment
Do you mean 3 years in Nigeria or 3 years outside Nigeria?

True that! But how do we know at a point in time the guy never had a job, career focus and "potentials"? Do we have the biography of the Man, the chronicles of their relationship or the backstory of what went wrong. Are we to gather here and blame a particular gender based on little information from the Op?

True again anybody can be broke, but you will agree with me that the guy doesn't seem like one who is striving to be better, should the woman take the fault for this as well?
Hmm you're right in your response, but I was responding to your earlier comment that - When Women get intimate with broke guys, "All women knowingly follow deadbeats Men."

I believe It is quite simple to identify a deadbeat because the signs are always present, and the signs do not depend on whether a guy is "broke" or not. Even at university, you will always know the guys who are very serious about their lives, education, and future. Even if they do not become great, they will be in a better position later on. The truth is that some particular type of bad guys pique women's interest, especially when they are younger, and some women base their decision on this.

I guess you can move to a better environment at the end of the year and enjoy your life while you can, guaranteed that you have saved a lot of money for yourself. Living in Nigeria is actually very cheap for a remote worker, your 1 month wage is enough to set up a great apartment without anything fancy.

You're very naive. I feel sorry for you, you live in a bubble, don't just listen to beer parlour analysis and twitter expert, think about it logically.

Can any bank manager in Lagos refuse to give Tinubu as much new Naira that he needs for his election?.
You have no idea how powerful a state is, that bank will suffer unsurmountable losses in Lagos. If you think he's not a force in Lagos, why don't you see poster of other candidates anywhere in Lagos, I'm a supporter of Peter Obi and I would go out to vote P.O in the elections , but I'm not naive to ignore the reality and force of the Tinubu camp.
Please go back & read what I wrote again, there is nothing anyone can do to completely stop election rigging but you can reduce the occurrence which is what is going to be done. No matter the permutations you do, evidence proves that It will be more complicated to obtain Naira notes from the banks even as the state. For example, if Tinubu could easily use 2 Bullion vans or more to move cash in 2015, he may only be able to obtain 1 Bullion van because of the scarcity and this is progress compared to the last election.

Think of it like exam malpractice, you cannot fully remove malpractice from the educational system but you can reduce it to a certain extent. This is exactly what I am saying.

If dz figures are right, then there will still be an extension.
Probably because how can a whole Nation of 250Million and CBN is printing 500Million Naira in a week according to Sahara Reporters.

BusinessRe: Video Of Nigerians Fighting To Use ATM To Cash New Naira Notes.. by tosinhtml: 10:51am On Jan 30, 2023
Ofadaman:
And yet I ask again, how does this affect Tinubu or taegetted at Tinubu, a Man who can get four bullion van of new notes in minutes. You think any bank MD in Lagos, or in the entire country will refuse to send new note to Tinubu who has an account with him, can you even imagine the amount of losses he'd suffer if Tinubu moves his account away or if they fall in the wrong side of the Lagos govt.
It affects everybody, It never stops people from rigging but it reduces the occurrence by half. It takes more than Billion for each political party to buy vote for all six geo-political zones. Evidences from Sahara reporters show that the number of printed new notes isn't even upto 10 Billion yet because as at December 22, 2022, CBN ordered 500 million Naira new notes. Let's say they print 1 Billion each week, It would take 10 weeks to print 10 Billion Naira. This is just an hypothetical situation I painted for you.

There is no way there is enough Naira in circulation enough for every one who to actually use. That is the main issue.

Also, If it wasn't an issue, Tinubu will not complain. Please go and watch the campaign videos in Ogun State, people at his back were pinching him not to talk but he verbally said in Yoruba that they should allow him say his mind, he complained that some powers in the Govt are trying to sabotage his presidency plans.

Party politics aside, Okowa is one of the biggest disgrace of a governor you would ever find in the South. He is so placid and uninspiring, you wouldn't know a governor exists in Delta State. When your mate at Akwa Ibom and Rivers States are commissioning signature projects like super highways and big factories and you are here celebrating mediocrity with the socalled commissioning of a wierd looking flyover, then you really have a long way to go.. Umeahi trounces Okowa with Ebonys paltry allocations..

Okowas security votes take up to 25% of the budget! Dude is a rampaging criminal! He has been the governor for almost 8 years now. He was a Local Government chairman at a point. Served in the House and later the Senate, yet no fire, no spark as a governor. He was supposed to put the Aniomas on the map of development in Delta State, but even with all the 13% derivation funds, Ibori did well for Oghara more than this one has done for either Asaba or Agbor!
Very useless man..
The worse set of people are always put forth to take hold of the country Nigeria. I sincerely weep for the country. Even as bad as Wike is, a lot of funds allocated was actually used to implement projects. I honestly would wish God had put me in a different country other than Nigeria, a country that never has good people always coming forward to rule. Abacha's regime however ruled with force and dictatorship was 10 times better than what we have now and I actually wished the man never died.

The whole point of DSA is solving problems as efficiently as possible
It doesn't make the native solution wrong. In an interview you're most likely not going to write the efficient code the first time, It takes a second trial for most people to improve their code and make it faster. Your job is to focus on solving the problem, before adding efficiency.
ProgrammingRe: Algorithm And Data Structure Study Section by tosinhtml:

You still don't want to accept that your solution is slow and will give you a FAIL in an interview.

Ordinary this simple algorithm question and you can't provide an efficient solution. How will you now solve harder questions efficiently?

Set awon Nairaland troll. Maybe if you invest all the time you use in trolling and insulting people into practicing DSA questions, you'll get better. You are still at level zero. Providing brute force solution to ordinary Two Sum question.

It's clear that all my hard work is paying off. The more knowledgeable I become the more I realize just how much of a quack people like you are. Continue trolling Nairaland from morning till night while I invest my time improving my coding skills.
Why are you hell bent on causing chaos exactly? Your solution is faster, great! Okay you have gotten better, also great! So what's the problem and why do you have to curse out other people contributing to a thread. If you're in an interview, 9 out 10 times you're going to think of the naive solution first before optimising it further. That your code is faster doesn't mean the other person is a quack or useless. So let us enjoy the thread please.

@Lannister360: You can do Internships and volunteering work on the side, then add it to your professional experience. You don't need to tell them it was an internship, they do not need to know. Also move over to upwork, you will make very good income there. Learn cross-platform development with either RN or Flutter so you can get gigs. If possible, just forget about Nigerian employers.

Not all the thing is with internships people only think large product based companies. People are still getting good offers based off what they know. The thing no get manual. As for big tech, I wont even bother with them until the economy recovers. Layoffs everywhere and more are coming. Peoples offers are also getting rescinded.
I was telling someone this thing yesterday. If I got an offer now, I can't even resign my current job because the new company I am joining isn't sure of my delivery. They can decide to do re-structuring and lay off 3 months from now and as a new employee, you'd be affected. So better to stay where you have been tested and proven, or do 2 jobs at once if possible and manage both of them remotely.
ProgrammingRe: Flutter Or React-native. by tosinhtml: 8:32am On Jan 06, 2023
truthCoder:
1 to 2 months for flutter is very optimistic, especially for someone who is asking that question.

Depending on his previous programming background and ability to grasp Dart, he could be up and running in few days creating UI.

However, a real app in 2023 is now more than just the UI and a real Flutter dev (or any dev for that matter) must be able to handle a lot more than Text(‘I am a flutter dev’).

I would say, he should budget minimum of 4 months and start from Dart proper, if he is new to programming, else he will just keep coming back to the same dart that he skimmed over.
You're absolutely right, I was looking at it from my own lens as I'm already familiar with Java, Kotlin & Swift.

Apart from the language Dart & Flutter the UI, there are even other parts of Mobile that is complex like Android/iOS native implementations, that is where the real issue begins. Then architectural patterns, if he wants to get hired as full-time Flutter dev.

TooMuchSense1:
Like how long does it take to learn either react-native or flutter?
In 1 - 2 Months, Flutter, it is easier to learn. But as they said if you're looking for money, React Native offers more opportunities and the reason is because Facebook came out with it in 2015, a lot of companies have adopted it therefore trying to maintain an existing codebase.

It is a very crazy market honestly.
ProgrammingRe: Flutter Or React-native. by tosinhtml:
Developer404:
I've asked some senior developers on Facebook some said React-native some said flutter, they said react native comes easy and it has a large community to learn from while flutter is tedious and has less community. Please help
This is false, React Native requires more work than any other platform because of the performance problems you will face. Having a large community doesn't mean you won't constantly be running into issues & getting stuck. Flutter now has a huge community too and you can easily spin up an app in few days, you're done. If you're doing Freelancing, the customer does not need to know what you used to build the app. Yours is to deliver the product & collect your money.

At the end, just learn both. They are similar in declarative approach and you don't know what opportunities might come to you.

How far Qtguru, just seeing yout post on: How would I survive in the future in this industry ?? How do I re-align my professional career that makes me attractive in the future ?

For me, there are so many methods to surviving and no one way is best.

- Becoming a well rounded CTO / Co-founder is one way to escape the hustle and bustle of tech industry in the long run.

- One way is by working for a top 5 companies with huge profits like Apple, Google & Microsoft, then grow gradually in ranks as Engineering Manager for 10 - 30 years. Apple is very stable, therefore you are in safe hands.

- A common thing is Devs moving to Staff Engineers at a medium-size tech company and stay for 5 - 15 years, which they could still get fired like Twitter employees anytime investor cuts funding. Chris Banes for example is a top Engineer at Google for 9 years who left his comfort zone to Twitter & now fired, he is now back to the job market hustling again.

- Another cool thing is moving from Dev to Product Management with the wealth of experience to a medium-size company and forget about the stress of development for life.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but the answer I've gotten is making me lean a bit in that direction regarding this subject.
Interesting, maybe you need to get more sleep grin

On a serious note, I do not know about the lying aspect but your research is true in some areas, Python is majorly for DSA & I rarely see any job roles for Django or Flask, only ML & Data Science engineers use it which aren't that much. Few companies also use Python as their Backend preferred language.

Programming is divided into 2 parts, Freelancing vs Full-time work, the job market & skills needed for both is wide apart, that is why It seems like social media is lying to you. For Freelance, you will need a good knowledge of PHP (Wordpress, Magento, Drupal and Shopify etc), Nodejs, Javascript & Frontend frameworks. For full-time work, you will need a good knowledge of DSA & then other languages and tools you need to learn for either Backend, Frontend or Devops work.

The most annoying part of this is that, Freelancing actually has more job security because you deal with many clients and if lucky, you may even have two long-term contracts for 2 years where earn like you work full-time. No stress & you can sack your client by moving on to another.

Full-time however moves you up the career ladder for positions like Associate Developer, Senior, Staff, Senior Staff & Principal engineer in like 5 to 10 years. Even though these are role titles, it doesn't always mean you earn better than a freelancer because you're a principal engineer.

I started my programming journey two months ago. I've been working harder than I've ever worked in my life. I've spent endless hours pouring through codes while denying myself of all the fun and interesting things I usually do. The goal was to know enough to start applying for remote jobs.

But with the recent tech layoffs, I feel like there is almost no hope for beginners like me cos I will be competing in a job market flooded with experienced, highly skilled FAANG level programmers who just got laid off. What company will hire me when they can hire a genius who has mastered 5 languages and can solve leetcode problems like it's child's play?

I chose the worst time to begin this journey and now I'm very depressed. I haven't even opened my laptop today..
Are you in Nigeria? If yes, then the recent layoffs doesn't affect you at all.

Nigeria & Africa is going through a very unique problem of scarce developers right now. Most of the great devs have already left Nigeria, people are seeking Senior iOS dev with 500k in Lagos & they cannot even find anyone to accept that money. I myself cannot find a developer with that amount.

The problems in Nigeria are far different from what we have in the West.

You have absolutely nothing to worry about.
