vascey: Funny I was just looking this up online. I hope their new product will break the monopoly of Multichoice.
The problem though is that the price of the TVs would discourage the potential customers.
I mean if you are offering FREE incentive for the purchase of your product, then you should be targeting people who actually need the free stuff not people who can afford to pay subscription.
I think I am gonna get one though. I am for anything against monopoly.

@Mod so I decided a while ago that whoever gives me the 100th "like" on Nairaland would get a RC.

I am vain right? Maybe I am. Maybe not. But it was something I told myself and the 100th liker happens to be on this thread (I think the 14th or so, u can do the math). So if it is not too much inconvenience, could you please send me the email of the person (as I find it difficult to determine) so that I can send the recharge card promised.

This report does not surprise me.

NNPC, politicians and IOCs have been fleecing this country. Everyone indicted should be made accountable.

But as usual, nothing will probably come out of this whole process afterall the Halliburton criminals are still walking free.

This country is a jungle.

What better avenue for testimony than saying it before more than a million people?
Only thing lacking is "Praiseeeeeeeeeee the Lord", "Aaaaaalleeeeeeluyaaaaaaa".

That said, I wonder how those criminals transported such a heavy "Adam's Hammer" if they were not mobile. Someone should have seen them or drop them off. But the police won't even think. There are so many avenues to investigate this story.

But in most cases like this, the girls often get used and dumped by the guys they cheat with.

And that serves them right...

Come on guys, don't judge the girl. Everyone makes a mistake. Moreso she was just a kid. I mean at 16, what did you expect. She hasn't seen the world and is naïve about a lot of things. So I'm not surprised. However, dealing with the aftermath is what I expect folks to talk about.

Finally, no matter how well intentioned the guy was, he shares some part of the blame. It is NEVER advisable for a guy to commit a girl as young as that. 9.99 times out of 10 it backfires.

One of the most important things in any relationship is communication.

To have made a mistake is human and can be rationalised.

But to keep that mistake in the dark of your mind for 10 months without confessing reeks of deceit and anything other than love.

It makes him question all the "i love u" that you told him in that period. Everything you ever told him becomes invalidated because you thought that "something" would go away.

But it never does. 9 times out of 10 it comes back and haunts you. By then the damage is done. most times beyond repair.

Just because you made a wrong judgement call.

Still Osareime don't beat yourself too much on this. Just learn from your mistake and move on. If he is yours, he will be back.

Osareime: Nobody around me to give me any good advice.

I know I love him more than anything in this world. I know I love him and if he forgives me we would be beautiful together.

But how can he forgive someone that lied and cheated for years? Can he ever trust me again?
After the truth came out he tried to put it behind him and still continue with me because he loved me but after a week the memories couldn't leave him and now even talking to me irritates him.
I am prepared to wait however long I have to. But can he ever be with me again?

No sweetie, you don't love him more than anything in the world.

What you are feeling right now is guilt. But I don't blame you. You are so young. This was probably bound to happen.

Going forward... I suggest you leave the dude alone. Register your regret and openness if he comes around but don't push it if he doesn't.

I say this from my own little experience. Once upon a time a girl who meant the world to me also did something similar but I couldn't walk then because she said she would kill herself.

Guess what?? I walked two and half years later.

My point is that all this your drama won't bring trust back to the table. Once it's gone, it is gone, except in rare cases.

On the other hand, you are so young. There is a lot out there for you to see and experience. I don't believe a 24 year old man had any right to tie down a 16 year old girl.

Take your time. Experience the world. You will mature and meet another good guy.

My people have an adage that translates "when a young man that is not mature enough to tie a wrapper (around his waist) does so, when the breeze comes, it will carry him along with his wrapper".

I am from anambra and one of my own has been kidnapped in the past.

But this is no excuse for this level of lawlessness.

Questions:

- Have these persons been found guilty by a competent court? What happened to "innocent until proven guilty" by a court?

- is it part of the state law that accused/convicted kidnappers' houses be destroyed?

We must move past this level of "justice" if we want to move forward as a people. This level of highhandedness is just wrong. It equates to jungle justice. Yes, it is well intentioned but the approach is wrong.

Secondly, I will never support the destruction of resources. It is very easy to destroy but difficult to build. Will the Anambra state government tell me that no other use could be found for that house? Can it not be converted to a library to the millions of illetrate youths in my dear state? Can it not be converted to a youth development centre? Can it not be retained by the state as residential quarters for state officials? Can it not be rented out and be a form of revenue for the state? Can it not be given to the informants/police who aided the capture of these criminals? Why do we have to destroy when there are so many poor people who can make use of this resources.

Our flagarant disregard for resources is terrible especially when you remember that we are a 3rd world country with need for development. This can be compared to burning the money recovered from an corrupt official who embezzled public funds or proceeds of corruption. It is just wrong.

Our leaders need to put more thought into their actions. This is one of the reasons we are not moving forward.

Served in a private firm Lagos..... Air-conditioned staff bus takes me to work and back home..... Coffee and biscuits/cup cake for breakfast every day and TFC for lunch every mon, wed, fridays..... Air-conditioned office with internet access........... New toyota corolla official car for outdoor assignments..... Toiletries every month end and Full bag of rice and 25litters of vegetable every xmas and easter break....

Please can people share? I'm a devout christian but I would like to know. Disregard those who come at you in judgemental way. They will always be here forming "holier than thou" whether you are talking about bra, astrology etc. They have no sense of humour, nor thirst for knowledge.

So please share your experience. For me this is particularly important as I'm at the brink of making a career decision. At a point like this most people want answers or some form of assurance, hence, they turn to astrology. But most people fail to realise the first law of making choices- the future is uncertain and will remain so no matter how much you try to get answers.

I had (a long time ago) made up my mind, though, that my decisions will be my OWN. So that I will always learn rather than blame somebody or some force.

But I still want to know. So please share.

Pamperme: Heard from someone who was on that flight that the 'aboki' decided to pray on board and started chanting... So of course, people felt he wanted to blow the plane off...
The crew alerted security and the man was arrested after landing in Abuja... He didnt have any bomb on him.

What amuses me really is the fact that passengers on board were shouting Jesus, Jesus... and didnt bother to overpower the so called 'terrorist'

I will always advise against marrying someone who does not share your religious beliefs. It always ends in problems. Religion is an integral part of the lives of the majority. I know everyone would want to have a happy family life, and would do anything that would foster that happiness and make it grow. If being of differing religions would bring disharmony, of what benefit then is it to continue?

Most people allow themselves to be blinded by emotions and then they call those emotions love. That is so not love. Where is the love when you both differ on a very important part of your lives? Where is the love if you cannot pray together and uplift each other, and encourage each other from the things you know and are still learning about God? Where is the love when you two have children and you cannot create a loving atmosphere for them to worship God in? Which God by the way? Why would two people want to selfishly confuse their young ones with religion?

People need to realize that not everything works out the way they plan them do be. Do not go about looking for love in a hopeless place. Do not put yourself in a compromising situation where you will have to make life altering decisions with your heart, and not your head. . .

When i Love, it should be in all totality. I cannot claim to love her if i cannot come to love her religion. I'd rather not allow anything or situation that would warrant me showing her half-baked loved. . . No one deserves that. . . No one!
