It means he's been writing like that for a long time and he's used to it. I so much dislike that 'construct' but I'm not sure it's entirely wrong given the linguistic freedom the Internet (globalization) has given us. Some non native speakers use it mostly because the distinction between when it's acceptable and when it's not is not very clear. Omitting the "I" in the second clause of a compound sentence is grammatical: I am a new student and am really excited to be here. However, it's ungrammatical to omit the pronoun in a simple sentence or in the first clause of a compound sentence: Correct: I am a new student. Incorrect: Am a new student. But then again, even native speakers do this sometimes when taking notes, scribbling down some information or texting. In summary: I am = formal I'm = informal Am = colloquial, extremely casual I still don't like using only "am" cause it easily reduces the write-up to a scribble, and people who use it don't usually know 'when to stop'. |
Discombulator:Lol.... everybody calling others "fools" in this platform, I wonder who the fools really are |
THEbaddest007:Lol... @anything in skirt. Congratulations. More power to your elbow. |
You can't have equality if you believe some people are more equal than others. Countries you guys envy realised this a long time ago and it's been working for them, at least, to a great extent. Uniformed men aren't superior to civilians, the rich aren't superior to the poor, men aren't superior to women, tribe A isn't superior to tribe B, heterosexuals aren't superior to homosexuals, religion A isn't superior to religion B, etc. Everyone should have equal rights enforced by the law. The moment you start trying to exclude a certain people, know it that there'd be others who would gladly exclude you too. Inequality in Nigeria is nurtured by Nigerians themselves and they don't even know it. |
BRATISLAVA:Lol... you're just trying to wriggle out and it's funny. So you were commenting on this specific topic and somehow that's justifies saying he left pressing issues like corona to concentrate on gay rights? Hehe... What kind of logic are proposing? Dude, you said he left other pressing issues to concentrate on gay rights and I'm saying that's not true cause he addressed a lot of other issues including the ones you mentioned. And voila, I'm called gay and a white worshipper. You just had to call me names to cover your wrong assertion I pointed out? |
Nice one. Though I feel people are more inclined to patronize any business that gives them value for their money. People are sentimental about many things but they easily get very practical when it comes to spending their money. So if your business gives your friends and family value for their money, they'd naturally be drawn towards you. Don't expect people to patronize you just cause they're your friends. That's not marketing, that's emotional blackmail. First, they'd have to have need for your product. Second, you need to appreciate the fact that giving you thier money in exchange for your product is a form of business for them, their own business. And they'd gladly do it with you if both parties' interests are protected. |
BRATISLAVA:Lol... you are funny and this is what you get when you're more bent on criticizing than on being objective. Really, why not get informed before engaging? The president signed 17 executive orders on his first day at work covering the issues of corona virus, immigration, inclusiveness, etc. Just because the OP singled out this one to bait the likes of you, you're already biting onto it and building your entire logic around it. You guys just fall in any direction you're pushed. Lol. |
dumahi:Actually, there's nothing like "how it feels to be gay". It's like someone asking you "how it feels to be straight". All you know is that as you got older, you began to find women attractive. It's just unfair to always keep gay people on the spot where they'd have to be explaining their sexuality over and over again to people who deem thier own sexuality unquestionable. You don't have to understand it to let them be. They also don't know why you feel attracted to breasts (lol). Gay people have suffered immensely in the past from electroshock therapy to corrective rape. At this point, we should be enlightened enough to know that homosexuality isn't a disease to be cured. It's just the minority sexual orientation. Criminalizing them will not stop them from existing. We just have to appreciate human diversity and encourage inclusiveness and equality. |
You're embarrassed because y'all have refused to acknowledge human diversity and embrace inclusiveness. |
HonNEAT:Ok |
pepperdemzombie:You apparently didn't read my post or you were very eager to respond. The guy I quoted (can't even remember if it was you) shaded her husband for going to the market and I said there's absolutely nothing with the man going to the market sometimes. Regardless how we decide to analyze her statement, the fact that the pilot also has busy schedules, like you rightly acknowledged, is enough reason for you to know him going to the market can't be a regular thing. And that she has 4 kids doesn't rule out the possibility of that happening. So going around shading the man for being the market goer while we all know he's got a job that could keep him away from home for months seems childish. That's all I'm saying. |
jerryunit48:Yeah... but I feel these are not necessary risks. These jobs aren't even supposed to be high risk jobs. Most of the men in the pics were either using the wrong equipments or just taking the wrong decisions. The disregard for health and safety measures only shows how haphazardly people go about doing thier jobs in order to save time and/or money and thereby putting their lives at risk. |
gypsey:Ok... I actually re-read my post wondering the part that made you come to your conclusion. Are you sure you quoted the right post or you just wanted to type this regardless of the post you're quoting? I said he may or may not be a racist but pardoning a couple of black men on his last day in office is nothing to judge by; rather his policies or executive orders during his term as the president should be used. That's just a less shallow approach to the subject. That's all I'm saying. I wasn't arguing with you. But how does not supportng Trump or agreeing with his policies translate to "so much hate"? Why would I need to have met the president personally to decide if I should support him or not? He's not about to marry my sister, so I don't need a personal encounter with him. Basing my support on any personal encounter would be going sentimental. I only care about his policies and how they affect my life. I'm not pro Trump and I honestly couldn't care less about who likes Trump and who doesn't; he's no longer the president. |
badmrkt:I don't live in Nigeria and I really don't know much about the tribal issues there. However, I can tell from what I read onhere that tribalism is almost as deep rooted in Nigerians as religion. I just don't have enough experience to actively engage in a conversation about that without coming off as shallow. But yeah, it's something worth talking about and you can start by calling out tribalists while making conscious efforts to be objective yourself. |
badmrkt:I don't know. Why do you ask? |
Flamemignon1:Glad you've moved on. @bolded: Hahaha... I'm feeling like an activist right now. Let me go and show this to my friends so they'd know whom they're dealing with! ![]() Thanks!
|
pepperdemzombie:I don't know what you're getting at but there's absolutely nothing wrong with a man going to the market sometimes to help out his own wife. He is a pilot so it's obvious he has a busy schedule himself as well and, therefore, the market stuff can't be a regular thing. |
Nice. malcom1X:Lol... Trump adds a few black names to his presidential pardon list on his last day in office; oh! Look at that, he's not a racist! Dude, he may or may not be a racist but this does not prove anything. Even a racist would still add prominent black names to the list. That's just the smart thing to do. He spent four years as the president, that's just enough time to draw your conclusions regarding his disposition towards the subject of racial dichotomy and inclusiveness. |
Flamemignon1:I'm so sorry you had to go through all this. I've read about corrective rape cases but this is my first time hearing from the horse's mouth. Teenagers already have a lot to deal with, adding such experience to it must be very devastating. Sometimes, I'm scared of visiting Africa cause of the aggressions, brute force and rough edges. |
gaetano:Lol... think CNN does the opposition thing better. They know how to make a mountaintop out of nothing and still sound smart while at it. This headline from FOX is just lame. |
bukatyne:Really? They both cheat on each other? Lol... if that's the case, their marriage will last long then. No one has the moral authority to call out the other. But I feel the blogger should have made good of her threat to expose her instead to switching to her husband. That makes one wonder if he or she really had any evidence against her or was just out to cause her grief. |
Hhmmm.... the things I read here. Are they really happy women in Africa? Apparently, you can never be enough as a woman over there. Even if you don't cheat, you'd still be blamed for getting old or losing that youthful sexiness after childbirth. The life of a woman ain't an easy one especially when you are surrounded by people who only care about their own interest. |
Hhmm... It seems the blogger is a 'sadist'. She accused the woman of sleeping with a politician and when she was asked to prove it, she turned around to attack her husband instead cause she knew men are more likely to be the weak link. That's the attitude of someone who's more intrested in destroying another than disseminating information. What y'all go bloggers in Nigeria are mostly a bunch of people who derive pleasure from seeing others fall from grace. |
pepperdemzombie:A lady does the shopping most of the time and the few times the man helps out cause she's not availability, y'all will make it a generational topic. If you can't buy something for the house when your wife is not available, let those who can do it. It doesn't make your household any better than theirs if they are happy. |
SamuelLoch:How about him seeing a doctor? |
Godoverevery:Yes, of course, it's never the guy's fault. She's the only whor.e here. She had se.x with a man. Men are designed to have se.x so there's no point calling them out. That shouldn't be hard to judge. Not like there's ever been any other way such things are judged in Nigeria asides calling the lady a whor.e and patting the man on the back. |
HonNEAT:Lol.. you're quoting the guy for suggesting Messi is much richer than the moniker he quoted (which is very likely) but you spared that moniker who called Messi a dwarf (which he certainly isn't). At the end, it's all about sentiments. |
Sadly, Trump won't be there to dance to the song. |
Lol... Africans challenge scientific findings (which is encouraged in science anyway) but believe the black cat near the window is Mama Titi. ![]() As for the OP, the worst year for me is one that I experienced myself. ![]() |
Wow... this is one of those moments when you sincerely hope bloggers are lying as usual I know African kids have seen a lot that nothing shocks them anymore but killing a fellow? Lord, where do we start from? |
ebonge1:They aren't. The mayor is still there. These are "pet mayors" for fund raising. |
Lol... I actually thought they were elected to take over the real mayor's office. They were elected as "pet mayors" to raise funds. Nice one. |
