I type this with tears in my eyes. I decided to share say this here because if I need somebody to hear my voice, as I approach my end.
If I write this on Facebook, family and friends will see it and panic will set in, I don't want that. Devoid of our differences, Nairaland is also family to me.
The choices I made in life are mine, but the forces at work are overwhelming. I was weak to their manipulations.
All I ever wanted was to be an Engineer, to make mama proud and take care of my siblings.
Believe me I have Love in my heart. I wanted to just be a better version of myself but nothing seems to work.
When it seems like I am making a little progress, my desires are there to remind me that I am only but a prisoner.
It appears to me that I was created a failure. I failed my family once again, myself, Society and God almighty.
Now I am not afraid of death, I am only sad as I picture the face of Mama, Papa, Brothers and sisters crying while I lay motionless oblivious of everything( I know I will surely hear their wailing from the other side)
I don't want to be judged, but that isn't really my choice to make.
The next 3 weeks will be very crucial to my existence, if I survive it, then I will know that I will grow old and reach 95( I have always told anyone that cares to listen that I will live to 95).

All she has to do is prove that he has a history of doing this and that her own character is solid. Remember it's not about the truth but perception of the truth. She applied for visa specifically to meet him, flew to London, stayed in his house, got drunk in his house and then accused him of rape.

This case is a special one and it will probably be part of the 5% that will eventually go the way of the guy.

It would have been more difficult for the guy if the lady was in London on a business trip and asked to stay in his house or probably she was based in London.

The court cannot discard the intention of a lady who travelled several kilometers to specifically meet a guy she dated online, got drunk in his house alongside the guy and then cry foul about rape. It’s complicated.

Out of the over 100 cases that I mentioned, 38 of them involved prior social relationships which means they were dating or very close. The concept of consent is fluid which means a lady might give a guy the go ahead one minute but as soon as she says STOP, you MUST STOP! Whether you've been knacking her for years or married does not matter, even if she posts photos of the two of you doing the knacking on social media DOES NOT MATTER! What matters is that she can prove she told you to STOP. In this particular case the guy already CRUCIFIED himself by admitting he was also drunk. So even if she was shouting and kicking saying STOP, he wouldn't understand hence the motive and ability to rape has been technically established.

Let's also not forget, the woman doesn't even need a victory in court, the mere fact that such allegations warrants a court case could have the doctor unable to practice again. He is already losing in the court of public opinion and based on his recent tweets, he is at least guilty of breaking his oath of "DO NO HARM"

I'm currently around Buckhead in Atlanta and I know of families here that eat only Naija food every day. While living with my relatives in Buckhead, we eat ”Pando yam” virtually every day. My brothers barely eat America foo at all. They mostly eat the Nigerian stuff they get from the African store and farmer’s market.

I eat Nigerian food too, in fact my wife cooks Nigerian food almost every other day but to say that is all we eat is a big exaggeration, we would be bankrupt if that's all we ate. Snail 4 for $20, ponmo, 3 for $15, stock fish, prawns another 20 dollars. Imagine wanting to cook a pot of soup and spending $100(About 40k Naira). A pot of soup lasan lasan, na 9ja food I wan eat I no kill person .

I'll give you my own experience having lived and worked in the USA for over a decade now. THEY ARE THE WORST! The write up that they visit 9ja every six month is pure fantasy....Many don't even know what the airport in Lagos is called. Many don't even have a Nigerian passport or know how to get a Nigerian visa. Forget about the celebs you mentioned and focus on the majority, the average Nnkechi or Kemi held down with student loans and entry level jobs, these ones will gladly eat eba or jollof but will never give up their Red Lobster or other American delicacies.

Furthermore, I've discovered that most of them only like to be Nigerian by name but when it comes to actually doing things that encompasses the Nigerian female such as respecting elders/in-laws, taking care of the home, investing back in 9ja for the future they FAIL astonishingly.

Last but not least, whether it is a Nigerian girl picked from 9ja or one who came here as a child or was born here, individuality matters. There's no general consensus, just like we have many mad people that are whites or black Americans, same goes for Nigerian females. Sometimes it is like rolling dices, you might roll double six and hit the jackpot but most times you end up with numbers closer to 1
