It is not what they say then but how they say it.

Imagine people saying a girl got raped cause of how she dressed or cause she went to a guy's house or cause she was walking alone at night.

There's no reason to rape any body.
There's always a reason but none of the reasons are justifiable. It's like someone getting robbed or domestic violence, there's always a reason. What we should be doing is training our girls how to defend themselves both physically and mentally. Average Nigerian girl is so careless, from revealing private info. on social media to believing every guy with a nice smile and some change has good intentions. Common pepper spray dem no get, in a country where the law is a as useless as the p in psychology, I think just saying no to rape will not solve rape issues in this zoo of a country. We must teach our girls self defense because too many wild animals out there!

I agree money is powerful and shud accomplish great things bt we shudnt let this ruin our systems. A country is only as strong as its systems bt u seem to be overjoyed with a decaying System. I cannot understand why exactly.

If a bad system is in ur advantage 2day it cud be to ur disadvantage 2moro. That shud be a concern for everyone sane person.
Do you know the difference between theorist and realist? One gets things done while the other thinks about getting things done. I already expalined tp you the reality, change will not come by usine mere words and praying for more evolved system, NOPE! Change comes by getting your hands dirty, doing the work and using every resource available to put your people, your mentality in place for a better system. You want to change Nigeria? Hope you arm yourself with more than just some ethical bullcrap! Hope you ahve enough resources not to stop halfway like sowore! Hope you realize you're not fighting against the physical realm but spiritual as well! I am not saying you are wrong I'm just saying you're not being realistic! True change will not happen unless you get some serious backing both from the Almighty and serious financial resources. Money, blood, sweat and tears, these are the elements of true revolutions not just mere words, anyways I'm rooting for people like you, the optimist, the ones that still believe 9ja can be redeemed through ethics grin grin grin

I see u have now included power into ur equation. U are getting there.

Now ethics is what guides power from being abused. Morality is what wud have given created a sane society. U can choose to live in ur beclouded judgement and illusion of the overreaching powers of money bt remember it also has its limitations.

Politics in Nigerian history shud help u understand this dynamics very easily.
Did I leave power out of the equation before? I can't recall anyone in Nigeria having true power and yet they're poor! Everything in life has limitations adn nothing in my argument ever suggested otherwise but what you're saying is money should not overly influence decision making or due process and I maintain this is a fallacy in Nigeria. Maybe 50 years or 100 years when the political, societal and moral climate changes but for now money reigns supreme and to deny that is to deny your very existence!

U are only confusing urself, I never said money cannot influence things bt I said money shud not overly influence due process. Emphasis on the word “overly”. I even said u can lobby bt not demand. Abiola demanded with his money and we all know how it went. Tinubu or alpha beta advantage is not money bt power, political power. If Pdp takes over Lagos state it will not be thesame again for alpha beta. I’m sure u know that?

U made it seem u can get away with anything cos u have money and u can’t be held accountable morally because u have money and I said u are wrong to a large extent because where systems are strong u will face justice and times are changing also.
There's no point arguing with you, The bold part already confirms you know not of what you speak! Tinubu's advantage is not money but political power? Comedy....It is both my friend, BOTH!

Abiola never demanded anything with his money, he won an election but was denied his rights, he had a choice to get out of jail by denouncing his mandate but chose to be defiant, in this case he chose greed over common sense. The common theme with all your arguments is "if", which still shows you're living in el dorado, come out and smell the sweet smell of fresh notes from the bullion van, money and power will crush your ethics any day and any time, it is inevitable - Thanos 2018

U have been overly deluded by grand corruption u have forgotten or perhaps abandoned ur sense of good judgement. U have cave in to the false belief of money can do everything bt have failed to see many rich men and even powerful ones fall like chickens in history.

Abiola was rich and wealthy bt what happened?? Think again.

If warren goes against the law he will have it coming and that is a guarantee in America.

Do u see bill Cosby and the other media moguls rapists? Where are they? Jail exactly. That’s the power Of money from ur wild imagination to reality. grin
We are talking about two different things, something can be legal and yet ethically or morally wrong, another thing can be illegal yet ethically justified. This same topic was the bulk of my research during my 3rd masters degree, you need to stop seeing things from the fantasy realm and come back to reality. Abiola's downfall was not brought about by the people or any sense of morality but by his own doings, if he had done some things differently, especially listened to Adedibu, he might still be alive today. Are you saying raping someone is the same as unethically influencing an election or nomination? To me it seems you're using straw man's theory to justify your point and quite frankly it is silly!

Again we are not talking about legality but ethics, does money give you certain privileges in this world, YES! Are important positions in this world influenced by money, YES! Is there anything you can do about it, NO! If you like go head to head with Dangote in the Nigerian cement industry you are guaranteed to LOSE! Go head to head with Alpha Beta in Lagos, you're guaranteed to LOSE AGAIN! You can continue in your delusion of grandeur on morality but there's no denying reality and the ways of this world, anyday any time, I'll bet Tinubu's/Dangote's billions against your ethics!

I disagree, yes Nigeria is bad bt not completely lost. Our systems are weak bt not completely useless. We just need to improve and catch up with what is obtainable in civil climes. We are too backwards bt our seemingly exposed leaders are in denial.

Correcting our wrongs/mistakes building our systems to be strong is the only way this country can be great again. Any thing else we will either keep going in circles or going backwards.
Comedy....We are talking about the power the rich and mighty have over due process and you're here dreaming and talking about some el dorado grin grin. When it comes to positions such as monarchy and other positions not elected by the public, the rich and wealthy will always have influence and there's nothing anyone can do about it, let's not kid ourselves. Even in the USA, the power that someone like Buffet & Gates wield is more powerful than most people know, not to talk of a country like 9ja where the emphasis on money is magnified grin grin grin.

There's a simple concept most people don't understand, don't play chess with people's feelings or lives! You have a boyfriend, yet some are busy giving you advice on experimenting, this is pure horseshit! The relationship is only a few months so it should be easy to end, why string the guy along? Why can't you just break up with him and follow the other guy or other guys? Someone trusts you with their emotions enough to start a relationship with you and you feel the best way to reward him is to pursue other options and then make a choice between him or new guy?

9ja people and greed are like 5 and 6, what you just described is grade 1 GREED! Blacks should support black owned businesses, it is the only way we can grow as a race, this does not mean when you se a white owned business you should shun it, on the contrary, it means let the majority of your spending go towards business and people hurt by the current racial injustice.

What's there to be bitter about? It's only common sense that we unite as blacks and save ourselves, all the other racial groups did it why can't blacks? Read up on Sadio Mane, read up on Kokun foundation, read up on people like Martin Luther King, Harriet Tubman, Russell Simmons, Oprah and many more. When you say "don't patronize their shops and don't invest in their businesses or economies", it shows you're equally racist and stupid at the same time. Blacks and whites and even "yellow" and "red" work in those economies. You are being racist against even the white people who truly do not support racism against black people. Counter-racism is not a solution.
Nah enlighten yourself, those shops don't have to be racists to be complicit. When a huge brand sees something like police brutality, racial injustice and keeps quiet, it is equally as culpable as those racists. When those brands prefer to invest in white dominated cities instead of showing black communities some love as well, they are equally culpable. Finally when these brands openly support and donate to people or companies that have chosen to stay silent about these issues, they remain culpable.

You don't have to be racists to be called one, you can just keep quiet and watch racists thrive!

Why not address stigmatization that rape victims go through first. Ordinary corona virus, people cannot reveal their identity because of stigma attached to it.

May be when the issue of stigmatization is addressed, victims will be bold enough to come out and report the crime against them as soon as it happens
Stigmatization will never go away, it's just like saying people should feel no shame for bed wetting, smelling and so on. The point this man made that made the most sense is that by keeping quiet, the rapist could be raping other victims and this is very dangerous. Those victims could have been saved if someone just spoke up in time. Not all hereos wear cape, someone that was rape would be thinking of themselves and they have every right to think that way but as humans if we start thinking of others and see the bigger picture, a lot of messed up things in life would gradually reduce but what do I know, easier said than done grin grin grin grin

I can see this argument is leading no where cause u are very ignorant, if someone saw him leaving he’s house at the particular time with blood on his hands and the man is found dead few minutes, that’s a witness and could also be an accuser , if he’s the one that called him out. In the rape case I used the word testimony and these tweets... this argument is pointless . I hope he takes her to court so we could see the outcome . But we both know he won’t .

Mind you a witness don’t need to be someone physically there , it can be someone collaborating her story with some facts.
I'm not even going to bother to analyze the rubbish you wrote above but tell me who will collaborate her story? The friend that she named already released a statement on social media saying she's lying. So professor, tell me how this case is dfifferent from "he said, she said"?

America has over 20 fvcking million illegal immigrants! 20 fvcking million!! These are the people slashing the bargaining power of legit American citizens, citizens that voted in a government to make their lives better..these immigrants come in and are willing to do a job for half the amount of the real citizens of a country...and you wonder why unemployment increased substantially during the past 8 years?? Even the menial jobs that an a black American with little education could do is being taken by illegal immigrants...the thing is, those companies and employers know this, it is their gain, why would they want to do anything that will remove cheap a.s.s labour from their companies?? Which country can survive with 20 million illegal immigrants jostling for jobs with the legit occupants of the country?? That America hasn't buckled completely to that is my surprise.
I agree with what you said but the story is deeper, majority of those illegal immigrants pay taxes but are unable to claim social security benefits when they get old because they don't have legal status. This is why when the other person said America does not have an illegal immigration problem, I was STUNNED!

It's a very big problem not only for American citizens out of work but the unethical and immoral nature of exploiting these tax paying illegal immigrants and not offering them any help when they get old. It's almost as if the liberal American government of the past wants to eat its cake and have it too!

So u think she won’t present those tweets to affirm her case ? What r u even arguing , that the court will ignore such tweets ? Not even possible.
My argument is that some lawyers have ethical standards, some are paid on retainers which means if they cost their clients money or pursue a case that does not benefit them then they can get fired. You do understand how a retainer works? Like a monthly paycheck, so the question as a lawyer is simple, would you want to lose your monthly paycheck for one upfront fee? Most lawyers prefer the monthly paycheck.

Now moving on, a tweet in itself is not evidence of rape, if your argument is that the tweet is enough to land him in jail then I'm afraid you need to brush up your knowledge of the judicial system. Anyways I'm getting tired of the back and forth, let's just watch as things play out grin grin grin

I think it's naive to suppose that white privilege has no place in public discussion, especially in the wake of George Floyd's death. White privilege has always had a space in public discussion. How old are you? When the French lost Haiti to the black population, was it not white privilege (racism) that allowed France to connive with the United States and other countries in Europe to put up a trade blockade that forced Haiti to pay France for Haiti, before Haiti could do business with the world? Black folks who bury their heads in the sand, especially folks who migrate from Nigeria, Africa, who haven't had to deal with systemic racism, whose grandparents hadn't gone to war for America and returned to be denied the benefits afforded white folks who returned from the same war, those black folks are a cancer.

You mention people wanting to curb illegal migration. OBAMA was called the deporter-in-chief. Illegal immigration was not a problem. What tRump offered was a hideous kind of finger pointing, going the Ghana-must-Go approach, inciting racial, nationalist sentiments. That sort of rhetoric brings out the worst in people.

Remember that Obama is half-white. During his campaign he touted the contributions of his white grandparents to keeping the United States safe. Obama sought to unite the country. He was an intelligent, smooth talker. He represented a grand proof of the American dream.

As for the election. We will see.
Another rant that is filled with sentimentla rhetoric! Obama was the deporter in chief but allowed catch and release which meant as they were being deported, they were coming back with full force. You seriously typed that illegal immigration is not a problem in the USA? Did you seioursly type that with a straight face or are you trolling me? grin grin grin

Now I never said white privilege is not a problem or that it does not exist but when you associate the way a voter votes with the color of his or her skin then you are spewing trash! My dad has lived in the USA for over 40 years, he faced the civil rights movement of the late 60s to the 80s. Don't tell me about going to war for America, I have 3 veterans in my family, the fact that you can sit there and type shit or assume u=you know a person based off of a few sentences shows YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM WITH AMERICA! Remove the damn cobb webs from your eyes so you can see clearer before attempting to liberate others!

I don't know where you're pulling your data from, but everybody knows that "tRump's base" as far as the last election is concerned consisted on not just uneducated, racist whites (Trump's core base) but all kinds of malcontents. His white, urban educated women support has shrunken. It's in the didactic, Bible-thumping rural areas that his support holds. Also, and I teach college undergrads, a lot of his Hispanic support, especially in Florida, came from offspring of Hispanic folks forced by their parents to vote Red. A good slice of those kids have graduated and are on their own now, working.

If tRump wins again, it will be because white people refuse to give up their privilege, pretending all the way to the polls.
Here we go again with the white privilege bullshit! Trump plays to win the electoral college not the popular vote. You teach undergrads but could write such a thing as shown in the bold? This dangerous rhetoric has no place in a civil discussion, it is the same race baiting crap responsible for the chaos we have in America today.

Are you saying just because a white person votes for Trump, he or she is privileged? Just because a white person exists he or she is privileged? I know of many whites that voted for Obama not once but twice and then switched to Trump. You left out the economy, stock markets, people wanting to curb illegal immigration, religious liberties and so on, these issues can and will affect the way a person vote, skin color should not be the sole focus.

The choice is between Biden & Trump, it remains to be seen whether Biden can win Iowa, Pennsylvania, Texas, Georgia, Florida, Michigan and Wisconsin. Instead of focusing on white privilege, the focus should be whether Democrats learnt anything from the result of the 2016 presidential elections. Whether Bernie's supporters will galvanize around Biden, whether his choice for Vice president would help him or crush him and whether young people and women of the Democratic base will be as enthusiastic as 2016.....I sincerely doubt it!

But he has lost independents. He didn't soar to office only on the backs of his supporters. There were also some who voted for him because they hated Hillary. Some who abstained from voting because they disliked Hillary. Guess who they're voting for now.
You think those same people would gravitate towards Biden? Let's examine things deeper, half the people you mentioned also hated US liberal policies especially around immigration and religion. Another half is pissed because they wanted Bernie. The fact remains that indpendent votes was not the major factor in trump's victory but his base, as long as he maintains his base, he can rely on one more thing, less and less Democrats that are women and/or black voters would vote this time because a woman and a person of color is not running.

If we've learnt anything from the last election, it is never to underestimate Trump, NEVER!
