ogawisdom:I really wonder o. More than 20 Fintechs have and still sell dollar-based investments to Nigerians. And I'm not referring to some unknown Fintechs, but rather the likes of Piggyvest, Cowrywise, Risevest, etc. Nearly all asset management companies licensed by the federal government sell dollar-based investments. Some insurance companies do same. Even banks are not exempted. The likes of Stanbic IBTC offer dollar-based mutual funds. When people say Nigerians are unpatriotic or scream too much about Binance, I tend to wonder.. I guess Binance is for the public poor, while the likes of Stanbic IBTC, ARM, FSDH, Anchoria Asset Mgt, etc. are for the big guys. |
Streetinvestor2:You can never be too sure, bro. You seem more confident than Cardoso who had to increase MPR twice within 4 weeks just to get us to where we are right now. I had to put that here so you don't get too carried away with the Binance charade. |
oluayebenz:Your first mistake is to assume that hoarders lack tactics. 😅Nigeria has never lacked hoarders. As long as Nigerian politicians live, hoarders will remain. You're looking in the wrong direction by asking hoarders on a TBills thread to offload their dollars. Are politicians a joke to you? The only way to tame hoarding is to keep up with the positive trend. Offloading is not as important as ensuring that the Naira continues to gain. Na small thing dey make Nigerians panic. Offloading now doesn't mean they won't buy again tomorrow at the slightest fall. |
oluayebenz:There is absolutely no reason why the dollar should fall in the manner we have seen since Tinubu took over in the first place. Everything we see happening right now is caused by the cluelessness of one man. Tinubu met the dollar at ₦700-₦800. He floated the Naira, claiming that the government could no longer subsidize the dollar. He also "removed" subsidy, and we all saw the consequences within a very short time (in few days). What's happening right now is that Tinubu has realised his mistakes and is now doing everything within his powers to take us back to the Buhari era. Firstly, the dollar is now being sold to FX vendors at a subsidised rate. Secondly, petrol is still being subsidised with almost double the amount the Buhari government paid as subsidy. It wouldn't be bad for Tinubu to come out and apologise for the grave mistakes he caused Nigerians. The entire BDC and Binance charade we saw would have still had the same "effect" without floating or "removing" subsidy. If we look at it critically, the so-called monies he claimed he saved from "subsidy removal" have been completely wiped out by inflation. Some reports say that states like Delta got about a 25% increase in allocation in 2024 compared to 2023. That is a big loss, an insult. How does a 25% increase help anyone when people now pay as much as 300% of what they paid in 2023 to get a tin of Three Crown milk? To add to the injury, salaries have remained stagnant for government workers. If exchange rate ever gets to 1k or under 1k, his next move will be to pay more subsidy on fuel, so Nigerians can go back to the old subsidized pump price. LOL. Tinubu's mistake is completely unpardonable anywhere in the world. |
Esthered:Solid points, here. |
iichidodo:How do you pay back after mopping up everything with a promise of 24% interest?? |
Esthered:What are your thoughts? |
FreeStuffsNG:Says a nobody who is probably yet to pay his rent somewhere in Okoko... 😅😅 Ribadu will, Tinubu shall, bla bla bla...from a nobody. |
I hate to say this, but women enabled this nonsense. Look at this critically, most of his fans are women, his friends are women, most of his enablers and followers on social media are also women. The people who invited him for the event are women. It's dangerous when women encourage or enable men to become women. These men will come with their hidden masculinities to displace you where and when it matters. It's never the same experience for women who try to become men. The difference is very clear. Women should stop encouraging men to become women. When cross dressers like Bob have no one supporting their m a d ness, they always adjust. How do you all think that Bob will end at just cross dressing? Of course, he's coming for the awards. He hasn't even started yet. |
Esthered:Ahaha... Esther ooo. Okay, here is the thing. God obviously loves children since the Bible says that they are His heritage. What that verse means is that children are given to us to nurture, love, show care, and lead to eternal life since they know nothing about God or His kingdom. When we take out that "eternal life," "love," and "care" responsibilities out of the way, then the whole idea of birthing more children becomes meaningless to God. It probably just becomes a biological or social exercise, just like buying a piece of cake to feel good or a pension plan to escape poverty, depression, and loneliness in old age (like most Nigerians do anyway). ...But that's my interpretation of the scriptures. I don't know, but your MOGs may hold a different view. ![]() |
NuclearWinter:Every religion is based on certain prejudices and belief systems that appear as "hatred" towards the practices of others. You can't single out Judaism for condemnation. And last time I checked, I didn't see Jews sending rockets or suicide bombers to Christian nations out of this so-called deep-seated hatred. The essence of the true gospel is to hate sin, not sinners. For instance, within Christianity, it is biblically correct for a Christian to condemn idol worship. Many Nigerian Christians have physically destroyed idols from their past, while others pray daily against these idols. So it is unreasonable to expect a Buddhist or a Jew to respect Jesus. The real concern should be whether Jews unprovokedly kill people in Christian nations or force their religion on others, which isn't the case. Although I have seen reports of Jews physically assaulting Christians in Israel, I have also seen report that confirms that that Israel isn't among the top 20 nations where Christians face the most persecution. If you love Christians so much, countries like Nigeria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, China, Syria, and Pakistan should be more concerning since they present and record more persecutions. Most religions are intolerant anyway. Even among traditional worshippers in Nigeria, we see how masquerades flog people. |
ahmedio2017:Blaming the Jews over the death of Jesus is like blaming all Urhobo, Isoko, and Ijaw people over the death of Nigerian soldiers in Okuama and Okoloba communities. This is pretty much the main source of antisemitism. For proper context, Jesus was crucified by Roman authorities who saw him as a threat to their power and teachings. Yesterday was Palm Sunday and, as I rightly shared in my Sunday school class, even the Jews celebrated him. That palm you see everywhere on a Palm Sunday is symbolic. That was how Jesus was celebrated as he entered Jerusalem in grand style. He was celebrated by who? The same Jews you said hated Jesus. Their (the public) disappointment only came because they thought Jesus was coming to destroy the oppressive Roman government under Pontius Pilate, but he (Christ) had a bigger and more important mission, which was to lay down his life (your own version of "killed" ). This is the basis and pretty much the beginning of Christianity. So, each time you try mocking Jesus or spreading the jew-hate over Jesus's death, you're actually preaching the gospel. What is the gospel? To preach love to all humanity, including those who were directly involved in his crucifixion. You and Mr. righteousness can condemn the incessant killings in the middle east region by Hamas and the Israeli government without spreading hate towards a people. |
epainos:Very funny. And no government sponsors more people to these so called terrorist countries than the Nigerian government. Currently, about N3.5m is budgeted per head for hajj. I believe around the same amount will be spent on Christian pilgrimage. |
ahmedio2017:You can't use this logic to mock Christians, though. Every right thinking Christian knows very well that Christ surrendered himself to be killed by the same people he loves so much, for a purpose. I don't expect you to understand. You're a Muslim, Mr. Ahmed. You should hold zero or few strong opinions about Christianity. |
Seun:Miracles are real. I have seen a blind man regain his sight "live and direct" at a Reinhard Bonnke's crusade. And no, it wasn't a fake miracle. He never called anyone to "testify" or come out to prove that his miracles are genuine. He does his thing and leaves. My encounter happened right in the midst of a huge crowd. People who noticed this particular miracle won't be more than 5 as things were happening at different points at a time. |
incogni2o:Here, sir 👇👇 incogni2o: If the Joy of Fatherhood or being a Grandparent, or even seeing your own Children and Groundchildren around seem meaningless to you, That's you and what you have framed your mind to beleive. The mistake you're making is assume you're a more lovable father than I am. Hehe... 😅 The difference between you and I is that you expect everyone to show interest in "multiplying" through sex. I don't. You're quoting too many scriptures to justify your own personal desires and lust. That verse of the scripture you're quoting is not for everyone. Are you Adam?? Why didn't Jesus get a wife and kids to fulfill that scripture if truly God wants everyone to "multiply" and replenish the earth? There are more important things God wants Christians to do, but "replenishing" the earth with potential candidates of hell isn't one. |
Kids get their genes from their 4 grandparents (about 25% each). In other words, 50% from their father's side and another 50% from their mother's side. Nobody in the world understands how these genes combine to form a new human. If you share the same feature with your parents, then you are simply an exemption. That's not the norm for everyone. |
incogni2o:What you're leaving behind doesn't matter. Death puts an end to everything, and that includes your idea and memory of whatever you think you're leaving behind. The idea of having children or grandchildren is useless to a dead man. He is too dead to remember ANYTHING. Live your life. No let Nigerian society pressure you. Ordinary 15 minutes nap will leave you forgetting your own self. And you want to bother yourself about nothing. Legacy? What is legacy to a dead man? 😅 Do I love kids? I do. Do you have everything you love? No, you don't. Na men like you go dey pursue male kids because of legacy and family name 🤣🤣 |
incogni2o:Companionship. That's the purpose of marriage. Procreation is secondary. |
YelloweWest:About 70% of women with PCOS have difficulty in conceiving. I never said it is impossible. Difficulty (70%) ✓ Impossibility X |
That's hysterectomy, should cost about #300-500k now. I remember advising you on your previous thread to get checked. But we all know say na attention you dey find. You're old enough to use Google or call a clinic to help yourself. I also hope you won't fall for those advising you to try more s e x. It is the greatest lie from the pit of hell. You should be concerned about conditions like PCOS and the likes. |
This is broad day armed robbery. This is beyond looting. Ofunaofu:Ignore the m a d man. Prices of everything has heightened except his salary, but he will defend anyway. |
We can't even tell anymore the difference between dating and prostitution in Nigeria. Why don't you just open OnlyFans account and market your services? Why put a man through that stress and pretence?
|
From peacekeeping, the latest report now says that the Nigerian military went to the area to curb oil bunkering. Why is it taking so long to apprehend the killers by the way? I hope the case won't be buried at the end of the day because of certain "high-powered" intervention, especially after making people believe that mere locals can kill and harvest the hearts and other vital organs of soldiers?? |
cococandy:😀😀 |
Plus size people should normalise paying for two seats. |
She's one of those emotionally damaged ladies who do not like or appreciate nice guys.. Just like Nigeria, many people believe that brilliance and intelligence begins by studying in a crowded classroom or reading with candles, etc. They see fine, serene private universities and describe them as "mushroom" because there are no cultists around. They're so damaged to the extent they would rather have a third class from Lautech or OAU than bag a first class from Covenant university. This is the mentality of an irredeemably damaged people. To sustain your niceness, you have to walk away. |
Lagos state fire service is the most effective in Nigeria. Always right on time. |
Puss360:The man's appearance and body language appear strange. While we can't tell the complete story from a short clip, I have a feeling that the man is somewhat intimidated or emotional as a result of the bride's family's attempt to steal the show. He might not be poor, but coming from a family where nobody can gift you a cup of garri will definitely break any man internally at that moment, unless we are not being sincere. If this was the case, then I believe he already knows the implications of getting himself involved with a "big" wedding. Another issue is that we've seen weddings where the groom's and bride's families do everything just to outdo each other. They literally turn the whole thing into a competition now, even on matters of food. People go as far as taking loans so they can prepare the best food. This is the area I take issue with. So, I really hope that this whole idea of announcing a car gift, money for fuel, etc., isn't one of those "things." |
Destroy the economy by 200%. Improve it by 10%, activate Stockholm syndrome, and voila, the economy is "improving." ![]() |
