0m0nnakoda:Home schooling cannot be state funded even in developed countries. You make a choice to withdraw your child from school and expect to be paid specifically to teach the child. If thats the case, we will all dedicate one parent to homeschool while getting benefits from the government. |
einsteine:What broad survey? I wanted to reply you with the fewest words as I could hopping you will understand. Does Wikipedia represent a survey?
|
0m0nnakoda:How many parents are ready to give up their means of livelihood to homeschool their children. To home school a child, you first of all must be competent to teach all round subjects. It is no joke. At age 5-6 just after nursery, would you have differentiated which child is bright and which child is dull and placed the bright ones in primary 2 and dull ones in primary 1 or how will you do it? With an educational system that puts 25-50 pupils in a class, even if a bright one is spotted at primary 1 for instance, skipping that class where time/clock is taught means the dull ones will be taught and the one who is bright and skipped the class will never be taught how to read the clock again in his life. Who else will teach that child that skipped a class what he missed in primary 1? By skipping the class he has lost out on vital information that would shape his learning. To home school a child means he will have to get the same knowledge as if he was in school. Skipping a level should never be encouraged no matter how bright a child is. Age is the only way to group children than their level of reason or ability. At later years making them skip classes without compensation for the missed knowledge is putting them at a disadvantage. The only reason a child should go to secondary school at 11-12 is because he should have been to Primary 1 at age 5-6. |
einsteine:Don't deceive yourself.

0m0nnakoda: TOP 10 YOUNGEST PEOPLE TO EARN THEIR DOCTORATESOne thing they all have in common, their gifts predates even the kindergarten class. So don't be telling me about earning a PhD under 20 when you know the case is completely different. Do not use a genius to compare to a normal child. What is considered normal worldover is 6th grade at 11 to 12yrs or age. That is what a school entails, that age group are placed in the same class. |
einsteine:It is possible but it is wrong. 1, 2, 3yr olds have done things that normal 10yr olds will not do. So nothing is an impossibility. But to say for every class of 20, 10 are geniuses, something is wrong. Are you saying Edo state has specifically, decided to go against the federal education system and eliminated primary 6? Do yourself a favour and type/search age for 6th grades on Google. The standard worldover is 11-13. 6th grade is primary 6 and 12th grade is SS 3 which standards is 17-19. This is what is normal. To have a 10yr old in secondary school is saying he is a genius. And if he is not a genius then having him in secondary is a disservice to him. What has become normal is for 30% of primary 4 class to go to sec sch and 50-80% of primary 5 going to sec sch. We are saying that 50-80% of all primary 5 pupils are geniuses. We are just deceiving ourselves. Watch 1 episode of Child genius and you'll know the difference between a genius and a normal child. We a talking about a 10yr old child with an IQ of Albert Einstein (over 160). |
einsteine:So you mean a child who has never written an test/exam can be admitted to a university? |
einsteine:Pls try and be logical. Do you even know how home schooling is controled in the US. You think government allows just anyone to withdraw their child from school in the name of home schooling. Every US state has a regulation or another. In one way or the other, the parent will account for comformity with standards. At the end, the home schooled child will still write public exams. What matters is the level of preparedness. |
Uzobejeme:Do you know what curriculum means? There is a curriculum for Primary 1-6, JSS 1-3, SSS 1-3, 100level to final year of tertiary school, 3 semesters of Post graduate and 6 semesters of PhD. The point is, what is taught in primary 5 is different from primary 6 and what is thought in JSS 1 depends on what was thought in Primary 1-6. You need to finish the curriculum of Secondary school to write SSCE. You need to finish the curriculum for a tertiary institution to be award a degree, Diploma etc why should someone who didn't finish the curriculum of Primary school be award certificate of Primary Education? Every level of education has a curriculum, finish it, write the exams and pass then collect the certificate. There are certain levels of our community were the primary cert is basic requirement, it is equally important for a primary certificate holder to be fully qualified as a degree holder is fully qualified. If the a primary 4 pupil skips primary 5 and 6 to JSS 1, he is now in a class with Primary 6 pupils who were actually taught some things the Primary 4 pupil will not understand or take long understanding. This will drag even the teacher backwards when he asks for affirmation, "do you understand". The best primary 4 student becomes below average since he is not among his peers. Principles of the teaching profession is undermined by simply skipping a class by 1 student. In Nigeria, no one cares as the evil has been overlooked leading to what you think its normal but its far from it. If you have never had that type of challenge, i had it first hand. I got admitted to Engineering in the university without ever doing further mathematics. To make it worst, my name came out on third list so by the time I settled to attend lectures, on my very 1st lecture, Integration was introduced and and CA test was a week away. You can't understand integration without understanding differentiation which is the previous lesson. I failed that course but by next year and after attending proper lectures, I got an A on the same course. In this case, I was forced to redo the course but no one forces a primary 5 pupil to attend primary 6 before now. The result is a deficient pupil pushed forward without the proper knowledge. In the UK where a 19yr old gets a PhD, they pull out him out from regular class, a dedicated tutor delivers him the requisite curriculum at an expedited rate to achieve the feat. Here, we think its by skipping class. Very very wrong. |
0m0nnakoda:Have you forgotten private schools run on license given by government? They run on curriculum set by government. They follow policies of government. Yes, i agree the age should be 11 not 12 but the point is anything less is not acceptable for the normal child. |
0m0nnakoda:How was it determined that the child is exceptional. One of my best TV shows is the Child Genius of UK. These children are tested by Mensa for their IQ. Then these children undergo serious academic routines to by parents, relative or hired professional who dedicated serious time and effort to impart the right knowledge. These children are not just taken from primary 1 to Jss 1 just because the child is gifted. The actual gifted child doesn't have the kind of tutorship and materials to be a genius the he truely is in Nigeria. They are only supposed to be exceptional among their piers to pushed to become genius child. We simply want to copy the feat but not the system. Where is the system for geniuses in Nigeria? 19yr old Phd holder, how do you want to do that? Which Prof would supervise that kind of a child? |
missimelda01:Why should there be an 8yr old in primary 6? 6 yrs of primary school, 3 yrs of nursery and 1 yr of prenursery which makes 10yrs if the child started as an infant straight from the labour room. Lets face the truth, private schools have destabilized the educational system in Nigeria. I am a private primary school graduate and never did Primary 6 in the early 90's. I know what I missed and how bullied I was in JSS 1. I had to change school in JSS 2 and by choice came back to JSS 1. A friend of mine whose child is 7 nearly a yr younger than my 8yr old is in Primary 3 in Abj while mine is in Primary 2 in Kaduna even when mine started school before his. My friend is not concerned about anything, he is only happy his child will be on the secondary sch at 10. My friend makes me feel bad that my older son would be through with secondary school at 17. I really desire my child to go through the entire classes of the educational system but my friend cares less. My son's school have a policy of compelling their children and parents to keep the children till primary 6 but parents are unwilling. This situation is alarming. Those who should skip a class or 2 are supposed to be geniuses who should have a special school or being home schooled. |
The only reason why I would be against you is the budget. You will be buying an abused or tired EOD for that price. |
searchng4love:I don't agree with the bolded. The Land cruiser 70 series used by UN, Red Cross, NGO's, Taliban and most international organisations etc are diesel powered. My former German boss imported his Land cruiser prado from Germany and it was Diesel. Most of Julius Bergers Toyota ranging from Hilux, Land cruiser, Rav 4 are diesel. |
Interested but your price is way way high. 700k and we can talk |
Blessedone26:Oga, the only thing amusing here is the fact that you could not locate the hole, yea it happens. I met a girl before who told me that he hole is down down even before I went for it. Trust me, such women must be willing, else nothing will happen. It possible wifey is like that. Secondly, for easy access, do plenty of pre-intimacy and before attempt, use fingers to find and hole and excite her towards receiving the rod. I have been unsuccessful before and I know how it feels. Lastly, your wife maybe too frightened being a virgin and not used to it. Try porn but dont use any drug. |

LordviccoDaGuru:In my own case, the Airtel Network I use stopped browsing so I transferred data to the MTN knowing fully I had no data, supprisingly, WhatsApp messages started coming in. I did enjoy for an hr until the MTN data wasn't so fast then I switched back to Airtel by this time, their 4g was blazing. |

otabuko:The issue with so many Honda steering racks is a simple one but the solution most mechanics are either not aware or incapable of dealing with it. The leakage is because most of the seals are bad but these seals should be available but no, you won't find them on the shelves of our spare part dealers for reasons i dont know. AliExpress has it if you can get a reliable mechanic to do the job.

SpeedRacer:Yes a P0341 would cause loss of power so you are not getting full power. Honda will usually go into limp mode (3000rpm) for critical fault codes and will cause loss of power for non critical faults. Codes like P0420 will not cause anything. Your current fault code relates to the intake Cam shaft. Its either the timing has jumped (unlikely) or the chain has a slack or the sensor or its wiring is bad. You can start by checking connector plug of the sensor and its wiring. Remove the plug and refit it. Clear the code and if it returns then check timing by setting the top dead center and also checking the chain for slack. If all correct then find a replacement sensor. Since you are on mineral oil now, if there is no shortage, you can try the synthetic. If there is shortage or leakage, you then revert but if non, you can continue. |
aimuan:Bro, you have no reason to end the relationship, hence, you are only complaining. She is only close to her ex because you are not. You cant deny the fact that she is sexually active or may wish to remain active. You made a selfish decision for your personal believe. You don't expect her to automatically fall in line. You don't sound like you even know her. You only sound like you want to take control of her since you want to marry her. For me, you have a lot of up hill to cover in this relationship. The only way is to marry her now, as in now, with all the risk involved or just manage till when you want to marry her. Sexual activity is like an addiction, you have made your choice, you can't make hers. Besides, very few girls will tell you she cannot be celibate. Am sure this celibacy issue has never been discussed between you. If so, you must be out of touch with reality. |
lekonso:That girl cannot obey him if that ex keeps fvcking her. She can only pretend. I have a friend who is getting married in November, the introduction is this weekend. This guy cannot stop fvcking his ex. They have no relationship other than he calls her anytime he needs to fvck. The situation her is that they are both AS genotype and have decided they will never marry even though the love still exist. Even with his marriage plans, his love is with the ex. This may be OP's situation. |
aimuan:Thats because you are in an era were sex is the keyword. I am not blaming you for not wanting it. I am telling you that not wanting it is a decision made by yourself to hurt yourself. If you really do not want sex, you should really not care what she does with her ex since you don't want sex. You have prepared a meal of nails, thorns and stones, why are you complaining about the result? You don't want sex, her ex gives her sex, as a result she is emotionally attached to her ex even though she may not want to marry him. It is convenient for you, it is convenient for her and is convenient for her ex. You should not quit! Keep loving her while she keeps fvcking her ex. I guess you are happy. |
aimuan:Do you mean you don't mind that her ex may still be nyashing her? If you collect the toto in this case, it is a sign of commitment to you. If you no collect, you have given her the excuse to keep fvcking her ex. Basically, it is after she sex you that you can be sure of one step closer to marriage. A responsible girl will not do you and her ex at the same time. If she no sex you she is still with her ex. Giving that she still talks with her ex is not confirmation for anything, you just need to mark your territory like most animals will do. |
brownsugardr:Op, if you have the money, tell him to write a receipt with the right dates and come for the money with it. Reject the receipt if the dates is not correct and don't give him the money. Tell him to also write you the old receipt. If you like the house, consider forfeiting the one month for peace to reign but if you wanna move, you can as well start looking for a new house. If you can afford a lawyer, then you know where to but be prepare for war since your landlord isn't a reasonable person. |
Ed12:Wrong 1st January to 31st December makes a year not just 1st January to 1st December which is 11 months and a day. 2nd January to 1st January is a year. Why are you people in support of wickedness? |
mharyamikeola92:Oh yes, the guy is stingy but you have to share the blame. A working relationship has communication and understanding but this one has none. You both don't communicate your financial status which means you guys behave as individuals which is already cracking up the relationship. He could be stingy because you don't make him responsible. Am not saying you must ask him for money but he should be able to take up some bills especially if you accommodate him. You may ask him like my mother will do, "babe, them no dey sell bread for Abuja again?". Next time, when he announces his visit, call him and say I want to eat something special, he should pass through somewhere and buy you something. This is how you progressively test him. I think you have not measured him, so stinginess could be a wrong conclusion. Before he becomes your real man, you should be able to know the status of his finances and trusting it without having to know his actual balance. You can lead by example, tell him your financial plans without exact details. He wants you to meet his mum, on what grounds. You need to ask? Love brings a couple together but communication and understanding waters the love, sex provides the sunshine. |
I have heard gory details of transactions gone south on Nairaland. I negotiated for a car with a Nairalander for N1.150m. We met in Kaduna, inspected the car and wrote agreements on the spot. I tried to do a transfer with multiple channels but forgot I did many transactions already. I could only do 250k that day which was a Friday evening. I asked the guy to free the deal for Monday so I can do it in the bank. He insisted he doesn't want to take the car home since he will be out of town Monday. He accepted the 250k as deposit while I keep the car with me and transfer on Monday at my convenience. I was skeptical thinking negatively of him about the ownership of the car. I was shocked he trusted me and I paid him full 900k on Monday as promised, he was happy and I was very happy to have met someone who had genuine trust and didn't fail him. I promised to return his plate number and I did a month later. The problem with this country is that the few bad eggs have spoilt the majority good ones. May God help us. |
chozzy:You want to make it seem this government did nothing but thats not the case. The Lagos-Kano was negotiated and awarded by Obj but no funds was paid and nothing happened. GEJ did the same and nothing happened because he didn't pay. Buhari renegotiated the project and paid in 2016 the construction started. The Abj Kaduna rail actually stopped when GEJ didn't pay. Buhari paid the balance to finish it. |
