BusinessRe: Can Farm Business Alone In Nigeria Make One As Wealthy As Dangote/Adenuga? by Anvaller: 10:21am On Dec 06, 2011
@op THIS SEEM A LITTLE LONG BUT I ADVISE U TO READ IT BECAUSE I THINK IT WILL BE USEFUL FOR U
U  need to be realistic with urself.
If u go into agriculture from the scratch with little capital as u have said, in NIGERIA? U would even be struggling to pay your bills talk less of living above average, talk less of becoming a millionnaire and talk less of being a Dangote and Adenuga,  Who told u those 2 guys are farmers in the 1st place?

Someone was advising u to go into crop production and u will be a billionaire,  hahahaha I laugh in Nigezie!!! Look I am talking out of experience, These are the things I have done for 6 good Years form 2003-2008 before pulling out and decided to just go study abroad. Having realized that in Agriculture chains, primary production is the most difficult and least profitable so I went abroad, studied agribusiness and started building my carrier in it. U will be making common mistakes if u call Dangote a farmer, naahhh! Dangote is an Agri-businessman not a farmer.

I dont mean to discourage u but let me tell u this: If u go into crop production, the only way to make profit is to go commercial scale,
How do u intend to do that? Mechanized farming,
How do u go mechanized? would u hire or buy tractors? Okay lets say hire,  where? government tractors or private tractor hires? where are they? are they sufficient? are they reliable? would they keep to appointments?

Okay to be positive, let's say u found one,  which couple implements does these tractors have? Believe me, they dont usually have beyond plough and harrow, some "sophisticated" ones would have a ridger IN ADDITION. They will never even have marker or tiller which in most cases are even more important than a plough depending on what u are planning to plant and the soil structure, all these matter alot, u don't just tear the soil apart with a plough all the time, it damages soil structure and reduces yield, any experienced farmer would tell u  that its true.

More questions, if u prepared a 10 ha land mechanically, how do u plant? mechanically? no its not feasible because there are no planters for common farmers like u in Nigeria. Government never buys them and individual tractor hirings dont have them so the only option is to plant manually and there is what will skyrocket your cost of production because u have to pay several labourers per many days of work and trust me, many of them are lazy, inefficient and inaccurate compared to what machines would have done. If u actually studied agricultural science, I advise u to lean more on livestock side, u can still make some profits in that area,  say poultry, the only thing u need to learn (among other things) is how to prevent diseases and how to compose quality feed at most reasonable costs, this is an area where u can start with little capital and even less stress compared with crop production.

PoliticsRe: Governor Rauf Aregbesola's Achievements One Year After by Anvaller: 6:36pm On Nov 25, 2011
What a sensitive question being asked there.

If someone is loving Aregbs, the question is on what basis? just love for no sensible reason?  Well it is only a matter of a little more time before such group of people would begin to express their love for Aregbs only in the corner of their rooms and never in public. When time reveals further his non performance. Remember, this guy was very popular in his fresh days as governor because of course he raised a lot of hopes, always in the media sweet and smart-talking about many incredible magics he was about to perform but over time, his popularity started to nosedive for apparent reasons. His magics are only in the media. civil servants no pay, students are idle at home school on strike, bad roads everywhere we are waiting for the dry season to come, bla bla bla. Are these not the same sh*t they criticised the PDP bitterly over? Here is someone loving them unconditionally, there is no smoke without fire, he must be part of em

Okay apart from the civil servants, the last thing I knew about their tertiary institutions is that they are on strike. Can someone tell me if it is settled or the situation is still the same?

Folks make this debate simple for me, Assuming one is born in the UK ( a British citizen by birth) with both Nigerian parents) raised in Nigeria, served in the NYSC and holds a Nigerian passsport and lives in  Nigeria as well. Does that mean that this individual is not allowed by law to contest for elections in Nigeria except he/she renounces the british citizenship??
@Jikings, the bone of contention here is naturalization. The scenario u have brought to the fore has nothing to do with it. Following the instance u gave in your comment, such person is a dual citizen (Nig&U.K) by birth. As a result such individuals have unlimited rights in both countries. Unless in some cases where their might be "artificial restrictions" due to mere discrimination and not due to legal dictations.
PoliticsRe: The Issue Of Dual Citizenship. by Anvaller: 10:09am On Nov 22, 2011
looker:
Smart countries like China etc know the value of their citizens that live in advanced societies like  the U.S and Europe, that is why they persuade and offer incentives for them to come home to help build their nations. In Nigeria people like Ndu- Chucks and co. cannot with stand somebody that has more knowledge than them.
@Looker, I am sorry but your comment is dull. How would you in your own understanding think that knowledge is a pre-requisite to granting citizenship to foreigners in US and E.U? (The major qualification is your duration of legal residence, no criminal record, and your financial status. education or exposure is not a pre-requisite)
Or do u feel so inferior that he who flashes a U.S passport in your face is automatically more knowledgeable than you? What you don't know is that real scholars and professionals might even find it difficult to pick up citizenship of any country because they are moving from one country to another as demanded by the nature of their chosen career such as research collaborations, employment contracts etc. Unless you are so committed to being a citizen of one of the countries u have lived, U may then settle your family there even if you can't achieve an uninterrupted stay and claim residence of such country (cos ur family is there and ur residence is registered in your or you and your wife's name) and rely on that to apply for naturalization having managed such condition for more than 5 yrs. Have u seen the complexity? U need to stay local to one country b4 u can conveniently apply for naturalization.

So therefore, u really do not need to become citizen of US or wherever to tap knowledge anywhere, unless you are on a mission espionage. The major reason why Nigerians are naturalizing is because Nigeria as a country is known for more negative stuffs than positive and as a result, its often difficult in some ramifications to manouver your way up in the international context while to others, they just want to be covered with the concomitant advantages of being a US, UK or Canadian citizen etc.
PoliticsRe: Osun Indigenes Commend Aregbesola For Resurrecting Train Service by Anvaller: 4:47pm On Nov 11, 2011
GEJ is trying to impress Nigerians by putting locomotives back on mono rail track through the NRC and then they are jumping up

But wait they are not only jumping
Aregbs took advantage, signed an MoU to facilitate train halt in Osun,  and then they said Aregbs is the don who did that, the Genius with many ideas,  grin grin grin funny ppl

Then these ppl started to doff their hats for Aregbs. Isn't it funny? So many NLers are always trying to exude intelligence with their comments. So I always think they can't be so cheap.

Remember that OGD, the so called never-do-well also facilitated same. Whether he was trying to impress at the dead min or not, the fact that he did the same shows it is nothing extraordinary. U dont have to sweat off your spores before signing an MoU!!! most especially when u are going to take an advantage without investing anything. Any politician in the world would do that.

I remember again Akala of the so called Amala political exponent also did same in Yaradua era. When Yaradua's administration was trying to revive the NRC by re awarding the rail reconstruction to the CCC, Akala having seen that the railway might be operational soon also strategised then to take an advantage of it by signing an MoU to facilitate the establishment of a Dry Port at Akinyele LGA of Ibadan. But unfortunately for him then NRC failed to work.

So what is fantastic about aregb's MoU apart from pulling phantom stunts on osun defender?

The more reason why he should sue NDLEA for defamation of character. Cos even as evident as it is that the NDLEA was wrong anyway, ppl like u still believe that he is a drug trafficker. Whether he is or not, NDLEA failed to substantiate the allegation after having exhausted all the time they needed to be able to do so. So why would he not sue them?

I hate it with passion when one man is trying to reduce the other just because s/he thinks for any reason that he is a better being. I have never abused anyone ever on NL but I think the starter of this thread is either mentally sick or one arrogant being that shouldnt be taken any seriously.

Look at the picture of those poor kids, U guys should have pity for them, instead of brandishing their picture as an example of ugly. For any one who has sense, these kids are not actually ugly but haggard looking and its simply because they are malnourished. So should u be proud that ur fellow nigerians or Africans are that suffering? just because u can afford to eat good food and live a good life. That is the problem of Africa. We dont care about our dieing neighbours as long as we are not dieing. Many of u come here and blame our politicians for being self centered and insensitive to masses' needs. People like u will be worse if given the same chance, SMH Hypocrites!

Very selfish, wicked and arrogant ppl.
PoliticsRe: Dual Citizens Have No Future In Any Elective Office In Nigeria? by Anvaller: 5:39pm On Nov 02, 2011
This is an interesting case anyway.
But is the question about whether u are no more Nigerian citizen or that u are not allowed to be president or governor? Under common sense and in my opinion, it is silly if u are handling your country over to guys who have willingly sworn allegiance to a country other than Nigeria? The loyalty have been divided and u may not completely trust these group of ppl in their bilateral interactions with the other country they have sworn allegiance to. Most especially, if thy have political interest or stake in such countries. (A simple local  example is the case of Aregbeshola of osun who hops between lagos and osun. This governor is expected to dedicate every bit of his time to Osun state)

Ideally, this group of ppl (dual citizens by naturalization) can not be considered as having sufficient patriotism to hold such positions. At least there are many Nigerians who could also have sworn allegiance to another country but who declined from doing so as a matter of principles bothering on patriotism.

Lets look at it this way. If a governor of a state is also a citizen of another country, that means he would possess both passport of Nigeria and passport of lets say U.S. Assuming this guy committed grave offences as a governor and he is under probe, EFCC would seize his Nigerian passport as a measure to preventing him from jumping bail fleeing out of Nigeria. Such action can only make any sense if the person in question is a Nigerian and nothing but a Nigerian. "If u seize my Nigerian passport, I can tell u to go to hell and travel with my other passport to my other country"

And again, in the case of Ajimobi, this guy denied initially that he is not an american citizen, he denied it outrightly and put it to the PDP to prove it. Later, he argued that all they have tendered does not in any way prove that he is not a citizen of Nigeria, that is a tactical way to admit that the PDP was right with the allegation that he holds an american citizenship. The fact  that he lied ab-initio to Nigerians that he doesnt have american citizenship whereas he does is even enough to kick him in the a/ss.

If there have been judgement in favour of such in the past, it must have been politically motivated and it is a shame. I can understand the reason why many guys in Diaspora are leaning strongly in favour of being governor and or president as a dual citizen because many of them are dual citizens by naturalization and at the same time hoping to be governors, senators or president in Nigeria some day. There is still an underlying interest in there reason to see sense in this scenario. Eating your cake and wanting to have it at the same time,  It is only in Nigeria that all things are possible.

Lets see how it goes.
PoliticsRe: Gov Aregbesola Snubs Sambo In Osogbo by Anvaller: 4:48pm On Oct 28, 2011
This guy Aregbeshola again? always being in the news for the wrong reasons. I think he is about the most popular governor in Nigeria now.

If he is not making us laugh about a proposed funny and unrealistic mega project, he is amazing us with other stuffs like gutter languages and exhibition of crude gestures. Imagine this guy trying to show off a kick-as/s mentality towards the presidency while in fact he is yet to do that to the IG who is the authority in question as far as this case is concerned.

Lets assume he has something against the president because someone somewhere informed him that the order was from the presidency to the IG, can he substantiate that? If this trouble maker can not substantiate it, then he has no justification for attacking the presidency. He should have limited his balderdash to the office of the IG.

One thing that interests me is how these ACN guys fail to realize that the party can not sustain its stance if they continue with this so called rascally approach to everything. Lets ask ourselves, if Fashola the gentleman leaves ACN tomorrow, what would be left of the party? We all know the answer unless those who would only like to deceive themselves.
EducationRe: Ogun Govt To Spend N2 Billion On Textbooks by Anvaller: 11:17pm On Oct 26, 2011
This is another ski-mask move from the ACN.

1st all, how would you know if the govt have over inflated the students' population? I believe they have.

Secondly, how would you measure or confirm that the number of books eventually distributed is not just 60-70% of the actual population of the students (not the inflated figure)

And above all, why are they more interested in expending a huge sum on distribution of books and not interested in expending same on renovation of schools? From a commonsensical approach,U renovate the schools first and then think about the books. How would the students assimilate the teachings from any book in an un-conducive environment? The point is, it easier and less risky to technically embezzle by executing the latter than to execute the former. It is a more difficult task to verify whether every single student got 1 copy each of the 3 subjects. in Nigeria of today, do we have any system on ground who can conveniently do that? Where as it is much easy to observe that buildings were not renovated or poorly renovated in schools XYZ as claimed by the X govt.

If u no know, U go know.

So the woman cannot say No, if she is not at that present time, physically able to perform.huhhuhhuh? This is the height of selfishness, if i must say!
No please try to understand me, I do not support wife battery or violation because of sex or for any reason whatsoever. I hate it. But the point is that it is common amongst wives in Nigeria that they perpetually come up with several excuses not to be able to have s-e-x at nights. Women make men look like s-e-x animals in this cases where as that is not the case, the women are actually doing the wrong thing.

If this night she is not having pains, next night she is not in the mood and the following night of course nature comes in, she is in her period and after the period she starts a 7day fasting c'mon, ronky! just look at that, this is not a joke, it happens very well and I know what I am saying, those men who know what I am talking about around here would obviously agree with me.

This causes a lot of frustration for the guy and builds aggression. Some go for extramarital sex and once they start they might never stop. So women should think about this. I think if a couple isgenuinely in love, there would be natural constant urge for sex between both of them so I dont understand why our women just have this s-e-x economy habit.
CrimeRe: Can A Man Rape His Wife? by Anvaller: 3:21pm On Oct 22, 2011
To the women who have this silly habit of being economical with sex in their matrimony. U have to know that sex is a serious and an essential part of the contract signed in court during wedding.

Learn from the story of this frenchman

http://www.thelifefiles.com/2011/09/06/french-woman-sues-husband-for-not-having-enough-sex-with-her/

who would pay a 10keuro fine just for not sexing the wife enough. So be careful ladies, u make me angry when I hear u talking as if its not bad if u deny your husband good sex when he wants it. I mean what is even bad if couples bump&grind all night every night? Does it reduce life span or causes any sort of illness? Interestingly, even the religions are not negative about it as long as its your lawful wife. so why economising it?
PoliticsRe: One Spouse Policy? by Anvaller: 5:40pm On Oct 21, 2011
Why is the guy namfav trying to justify underage marriage? It will be absolute nonsense if such marriage is without the consent of the lady. Sometimes they claim that the lady consented but in most cases, the ladies just don't have other alternative than to consent. These northerners would never change no matter how much education they have.

To the topic, if I would  base my argument on logic as whether polygamy increases population as some ppl have argued here, then I would say polygamy in Nigeria can even reduce population. If 1 man marries one wife, he may have up to 6 children over time but if he intends to marry more wives, he is very likely to limit the number of children per wife because he is sure that he is going to marry more wives. Since what matters is how many children are born by 1 woman, we may end up having an average of 2/3 children per woman. If a group of women has an average of 2/3 children for one man, the population growth would definitely slow down compared to when one woman has 4/6 children for one man.

I know ladies would hate my argument but pls dont because it is not even realistic. So no need to bother about it.

I dont see anything wrong here with Omawumi. If she feels comfortable dressing this way, free her then, as long as she looks good in it. Album launch concerthuh Is she launching her own album? must she wear what she doesnt like because it's a "fu-cking-album-launch-concerthuh" Its crazy that guys don't demand from ladies as long as ladies demand from themselves when it comes to fashion.

FamilyRe: Is Ur Wife Important Than Ur Children? by Anvaller: 7:43pm On Oct 12, 2011
The reality is that one's wife would be as important as one's children.

U can only feel more love for ur children than ur wife if the wife is fuc-king up big tym or more love for ur wife than ur children if they are grown and don't care about u. They don't visit u and u see them only once in a while. In this case, u would appreciate and love ur wife more for the fact that she has been ur companion day in day out. Even if the children don't care and not always there, ur wife will be there.

So, it depends and thats the way it is.

PoliticsRe: Fashola Against Legalising Prostitution by Anvaller: 1:15pm On Oct 12, 2011
Mrs Fashola is wrong. Commercial sex trade is not globally condemned. What is globally condemned is woman trafficking for whatever purpose which is usually for commercial sex trade. The right of commercial sex workers is absolutely protected in some countries due to human rights provisions which allow any one to be whoever he or she wants to be including professional pros-titution.

They are registered with the authority of the countries with contracts which explains the security of their payment, insurance for their health and protection against all  possible hazards to their job. So where is it globally condemned?

Just want to correct an erroneous impression around here that its impossible to keep ur mouth fresh no matter how hard u brush. No no no, the problem is that many dont know how to brush. U really need to learn.

While u are brushing, u have to remove the smelly residue that sticks to ur tongue, Some are aware of this but still dont know the proper way to remove it, they wrongly scrub their brush hard on the frontal part of the tongue, whereas the sticky smelly residue stays at the back part of the tongue, not at the front.
Some are afraid to do it because they can gag and throw up, they will just brush the teeth very well and hope the mouth won't smell but it will, of course it will.

It is easier to remove when you create a thick foam of paste in your mouth while brushing the teeth and do not spit the foam out yet, roll ur brush with the foam at the back part of the tongue, the foam reduces friction and removes the residue easily so u wont gag unless you over-do it. If u brush ur mouth everyday and u dont do this, ur mouth will start to smell after few hours because u did not remove what would make ur mouth smell when u brushed. But if u do this in the morning, I can tell u that u will remain fresh for the greater part of the day. If this does not work for u, then I cant help u further, u need extra care such as mouth fresheners chewing gum etc to stay fresh.

NYSCRe: The Importance Of NYSC In The Labour Market? by Anvaller: 9:41am On Oct 11, 2011
Redman44:
To me, the NYSC Scheme has no importance or significance to the Nigerian Labour Market. I am of the opinion that NYSC discharge certificates should not be requested for when graduates are seeking employment in Nigeria. I have seen many people that went for their youth service and returned worse than they were before the Service Year. The NYSC Scheme does not really add to the skills of Corpers nor does it make them more intelligent. I served in Ondo State and I came across a good number of Corpers who did not really know what they want to do with their lives after the Service Year. Many Youth Corpers serve in Ministries where they do not really do anything than to collect their token pay at the end of each month. Any Corper that learnt something during the Service Year must have done it through his or her own personal efforts. I learnt Desktop Publishing during my service year in Akure. I had to pay about 6,000 Naira for the Course. I came across Corpers who could not write their own CVs and who could not express themselves in good English.

I want a situation where the NYSC Scheme is transformed into a Program where Corpers are actually taught skills that will make them self employed after they complete the service year. Instead of posting Corpers to Schools ( There are many people out there already who have completed their service year and are looking for teaching jobs ) and Non Performing Ministries, I feel Corpers should be made to occupy Farm Settlements and taught how to farm on a small scale i.e Poultry Farming, Aquaculture, Vegetable Farming, Animal Husbandry etc. The Government should also assist them with small loans to kick off their ideas. Other Corpers can be assigened to Skill Acquisition centres where they can be taught how to make soaps, candles, chalk etc. We need more entrepreneurs in Nigeria and the NYSC Program can be used as a base for Entrepreneurial take offs in Nigeria. Corpers can learn how to make fruitr juice on a small scale during the service year. I know I might sound unrealistic but I believe Nigerians should be allowed to compete for jobs without the NYSC Discharge Certificate standing as a barrier before them. Cheers.
Of course you have points but I believe you know that proposals that are even much more beautiful than this have been brought up so many times? Look, Nigeria is not short of ideas as a nation, but our leaders are irresponsible, and sadly but truly, it is a reflection of who we are. Majority of Nigerians are potentially corrupt so much that ppl give in for corruption easily as soon as they join public service at any level. That explains our perpetual failure that even our prayers can not solve unless we change our attitude.

My guy, I dont understand you, what is so bad about this guy's write up? Do u just want to insult him by all means? I think he corrected the guy politely and gave him good advice. There is nothing in his comment that shows arrogance or trying to claim that he speaks perfect English. Why do we always like to attack ourselves as if we are at war?
PoliticsRe: Between Yorubas And Ghanaians: What Is The Problem? by Anvaller: 9:06am On Oct 11, 2011
@OP the guy who replied with the song "thank God we are not Ghanaians" is not a Yoruba guy, mere listening to him indicates clearly that he is Igbo.

For everyone saying that there is no proplem, may be we see no problem between us and them but from their own side, they have got beefs for Nigerians, they are jealous and envious and would always want to run everything Nigerian down. They dont want to admit that we are better than them with skills and creativity. They always like to compare stuffs like "yes you are popular with Nollywwod, yes ur music is everywhere, but go and solve ur electricity problem, u ppl are shameless, big for nothing bla bla bla, U can only enjoy urself as a Nigerian in Ghana if u are operating within the elitist class, both parties relate with each other with more maturity and respect.
