frinx:Because it was televised. When you do not use a Public address system, the audio quality would be poor for television even though it's a small room. |
JOHNSONSOLAFUNMI:FIFA isn't perfect... But he(CR7) won the award in 2014 despite registering a single goal at the world cup and crashing out at the Group stage. Infact he has amassed 5 or so FIFA awards already despite registering only a goal in each of his previous world cup appearances safe for this year's tournament( he's best World cup performance). |
tstx:'Non Nigerians? Not all non Nigerians are in swell situations oh. Nigeria (as bad as it is/appears) is a heaven of sorts to so many living conditions across the world. |
Throwback:I Suppose DSS' background check does not include reliability of Academic qualifications per se or Does it? Most people should be able to scale the DSS check if they don't have a Criminal past or Associations. DSS assesses a candidate's background for info/leads in his/her past/Associations that makes a candidate a potential risk to the country/ government upon assuming a position. You probably mean the National Assembly or the ICPC. |
lanre88:I don't know the nature of skills you are out for but : edx.org udemy.com Microsoft virtual academy are among rich resources to acquire training. Nowadays, you could browse for PDFs and read/learn about virtually anything under the sun. YouTube is another great resource to learn even the most niche-esque skill. |
IFEOLUWAKRIZ:It's not a law though, it's a rule. Both Rules/laws could be relaxed for the right reasons. It may be that the considerations that informed the age restrictions for the rule then are since outdated and due for review. I once heard that ones hands had to reach the other ear to be permitted to begin schooling in the 60s/70s. I am sure that's laughable today. Laws/rules are to serve man and not the other way around. Whenever they seem due for review, they should be to decide whether they should be scrapped or Continued. |
Hopebringer:I never suggested that ICAN is superior to ACcA in anyway. Given the choice almost everybody would elect for ACCA for its international appeal. I just wanted to correct a statement you made about its RAW 'global' reach. In fact, I think this comparison is unfair as ACcA was founded in 1904 in what has been one of the most developed countries in the world. I CAN received its charter in 1965 pioneered by individuals who themselves benefitted from a UK education. I CAN ( like the country it is domiciled ) still struggles in many areas today. And by the way it Hopebringer: Which country does ICAN Grant you exemptions in again I don't think I can recall? Oh I remember now it's in zero counties but it does frant you exemptions for ACCA right ? ![]() Or is that zero too Now this answers the question of one having the audacity to compare ICAN to ACCA . iCAN is just a joke and waste of funds if you ask meI never suggested that ICAN is superior to ACcA in anyway. Given the choice almost everybody would elect for ACCA for its international appeal. I just wanted to correct a statement you made about its RAW 'global' reach. Given the opportunity almost everybody would elect for ACCA for its international appeal but not everyone can afford everything they desire. Hopebringer:Granted. But your statement implied that with ACcA alone, one is good to go anywhere in the world. I have observed that even though a concept enjoys almost global acceptance, It may not necessarily translate to acceptance in the US without going through their standards there. Of Course no Financial concept is truly (technically) global if it still suffers restrictions in a place like the US. |
Hopebringer:Sure it has a wider reach in terms of recognition. But it isn't 'everywhere' yet. The US for instance, would still require a CPA (their equivalent certification) for public practice as they do for quite a number of professions ( Requiring a certification that was developed locally). N.b. The US hasn't adopted(at least not formally) IFRS yet. which is the foundation of most European Accounting Certifications including ACCA. |
addikt:You probably did not sleep for 15 days yourself to be able to be certain that another individual didn't. |
dukie25:But kebbi Corp members ≠ Kebbi graduates. Temper your perceptions about news emanating from the north. P.s. I am not a Northerner. |
"This is not one those your Nigerian salons where you people pay N200 for haircut" Says someone bemoaning prejudice. Sometimes I feel that 'racism' is just the scapegoat. The true enemy is Prejudice/Discrimination. Unfortunately, Discrimination can be perpetuated by members of the same race. Maybe it's just me but Is the quality of a haircut determined solely by its price ? |
amaniro:Yes Caucasians virtually have their roots in Europe but these people have since moved. You cannot call Donald trump, George Bush or Bill Clinton Europeans but their ancestry most certainly trails back to Europe. Many generations since, they have become Americans/Canadians/Newzealanders etc and are still White. And not all geographical Europeans are 'White'. |
amaniro:Really? Have you heard about Canada/USA? How about Australia and New Zealand. There are certainly white people outside Europe as much as not all geographical Europeans are "White". |
obrigado080:Okay. However, I must point out that though most senior officers are northerners, not "ALL" force chiefs are northerners. Both the current Naval chief (CNS) Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe and the chief of defence staff ( the highest ranking officer of the Nigerian Armed Forces ) Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin are Southerners. You are largerly right though, but when we make sweeping generalizations like [ there being more/other senior officers from the south in the armed forces for all chief roles— something neither you nor I would likely have the actual statistics] and ALL army chiefs are Northerners— when that's not the case, we allow sentiments get in the way of our otherwise worthy cause. |
obrigado080:Really ? was his 34 years in service also planned? the fact that he was the most senior officer and an Assistant DG. — Was that also planned to pacify the Southerners? The thinking that some parts of the country have their indigenes marginalized in positions in governance is understandable. But when naturally occurring situations ( a deserving officer who happens to be from a marginalized part of the country is given an appointment) it should be seen as a step towards normalcy and should not trigger unnecessary sentiments. Would we have preferred that this deserving officer be bypassed and the appointment given to another "So that the favour of Southerners be not influenced". please consider. |
Bobby4090:Nice. Hopefully, your impression has been corrected now. P.s. I am not a Covenant University alumnus. But I have never doubted that great things can come from anywhere. |
Topmaike007:Really ? please where in the world does a USdollar go for #100 Naira? Get the records right to analyze effectively. |
Jethrolite:Really? Do they currently cover Benin? |
AZeD1:Sorry for the bother but the notation on your signature is of R, Right? |
beethoven:I don't have a problem with their price increase (to some extent, paytv is a luxury) but that " They do not make as much as we perceive?" Nah! You don't know these guys. The parent company of this paytv(DStv), Naspers, has some of the most lucrative brands in Africa including; Mtn, Mnet/multichoice and Supersport. They made a fortuitous investment in Tencent ( one of the world's most valuable startups at a point) in 2001 that has valued their stake at over 100 bn USD. Naspers was also recently the most Valuable Company in Africa by Market Capitalization. If they don't make as much as we perceive then I can say with boldness that I played Deadpool in the recent Deadpool 2 sequel. |
Pavarottii:If it was tenable, are there those actually opposed to this? |
TechCapon:Yes, they make low cost products. But brazen IP theft like these limits your growth as a company outside China. Besides, selling low cost product with original designs is not mutually exclusive. they could very well achieve both. |
adewumiopeyemi:The comment says "Many" not All. You are correcting a non- existent error. |
ollah2:Yes. It has to be. Your sight is quite sharp. I would not have recognized him there had you not mentioned it. |
Paperwhite:I am totally against cultism in its current practice but this(what we see now) was clearly not the objective of the men above. You'll be hard pressed to come up with any similarities between the individual lifestyles of the men above and the average Nigerian cultist today. My point is, you do not judge the merit of a concept by its derailed form(its abused form). Otherwise u may soon call democracy a Monster since it has continued to feed us with our kind of leadership Over the past almost 20 years. |
AutoReportNG:like London? Quite a distance don't you think? in most popular cities across the world you get virtually no glimpse of 'brown ground' from an aerial view — not that it is a good thing— but because the cities are literally built up. |
AutoReportNG:like London? Quite a distance in comparison, don't you think? in most popular cities across the world you don't even get any glimpse of 'brown ground' from an aerial view — not that it is a good thing— but because the cities are literally built up. |
Tradefairlagos:Are u being sarcastic? the points you have raised seemingly opposes the conclusions you've reached. |
einsteino:I think I understand where the professor was coming from(I.e. that the sheer number of First class graduands called for suspicion considering the Faculty's trend ) but he allowed himself to fall for the logical fallacy — of concluding— that the number definitely meant something was wrong, and not that the trend warranted a recheck of facts. It seems to take a lot not to fall for fallacies in this Nigerian environment — even for a First class Law professor. |
soberdrunk:I can relate to everything you've written and if any of these happened after 2001 then I almost certainly witnessed it. |
