FBNH max of 6 days to go |
Dum20:Did not notice every stock have transactions captured. Surely there will be limitations on database capacity/architecture if all transactions dating back to whenever are to be made viewable. Thus some data histories will be truncated automatically after some xyz activity or time or something. Will take a closer look next time I log in. And check how much historical transactions are there and if it's on all stocks or some. |
Dum20:I noticed too that for some stocks one can see the transactions in ones CSCS account when logged-in. Could it be time related?. That is last x weeks transactions. Or is stock related ? |
BabsO2:Apart from waiting to see what FBNH dividend will look like post extended audit, I am also waiting for Q1 results generally to see how the companies are growing faster in underlying book value and earnings power than their share prices which seem to have been muted because of the political-economic environment. Sometime I feel some potential risk of disaster has been priced-in to many share prices. And the reason people are not ready to buy with bullish emotions. |
robobo:What I can see as the issue is there are not enough people holding UBA shares that are ready to part with it cheaply. Especially those holding very large quantities of UBA are not ready to dispose it at low prices. On the other hand there are bargain hunters ready to buy it only at discount prices to the last sale price. These bargain hunters could be small hunters and others could be big over prudent institutional investors perhaps with various discount threshold prices they are ready to deal on. And this happens for all stocks in the game of demand and supply. In FBNH the price was low like UBA or even lower until a loaded strategic investor became very bullish about FBNH. At the moment even with the bargain prices on many stocks, many fat cats are bearish on Nigeria's political issues. Hence prices are haggled without any bullish fire untill the political environment becomes clear. |
GANDALF1:Good to read it was limited to the fuel area. The wahala of poor power supply. |
GANDALF1:I am waiting for FBNH extended audit and dividend info to be released to the market ![]() |
GANDALF1:Are you referring to the price as manipulated or the quarterly and annual reports ? Assuming audited annual reports are okay and they should be fairly okay. At N8 UBA is one of the best picks amongst bank stocks on the NSE. Dividends paid twice a year, with at least 20 kobo dividend due in 5 months time vs (30 kobo from Zenith and GTCO). It ranges at the top in dividend yield and earnings yield. I am looking forward to buy more at N8 or less. ***CAVEAT**** This is not investment advice. DD. |

Mfunkynation:Account numbers with different brokers will always be different just as account number with different banks will be different for an individual. It is excellent the CHN is the same as that should be a unique identifier for an individual (just like BVN is to Banks for individual identification, CHN is supposed to do the same for individuals on the NSE). |
Calebbold:Is this not too fast |
sonofElElyon:I voted to Hold and watch as the underlying earnings has remained strong since 2021Q1 and continued gathering momentum till Q4. It was just the dividend that was painful. |
Market looks good ![]() |
yMcy56:Last week dividends payout trickling into the market bargain hunting, thereby lifting the market lightly as postulated early last week. ![]() |
GANDALF1:We may talk and talk and create probable scenarios, only a prophet can predict its certainty. Better to have spare cash in case of a market dip which is a very possible scenario indeed. |
Wapgod:Google for morning star website. They have a lot of free data on many liquid Naija stocks. It's also very good to calculate yourself for stocks you want to buy. |
https://nairametrics.com/2022/04/06/aieto-loans-uk-court-rules-in-favour-of-shell-afc-gtb-zenith-first-bank-others/ This looks like good news for these banks. |
GANDALF1:I don't really think it's the confirmation of Presidential candidate for APC or PDP that will cause a downwards re-pricing. But rather further breakdown of law and order beyond what we are currently experiencing. There are more chances the atmosphere will improve. Watching Ogun State Transportation Master plan live on Channels TV. The future is bright. ![]() |
Looking closely at GTCO it may stay low till Q1 results comes out this month. If the results look good and departs from the poor outcome of last year, the price will not stay low again. If the Q1 is not exciting, it is bound to go further down till those dumping it finish (suspect 1 or 2 FPI's is dumping). If Q1 turns out good despite the election brohaha it will resist major price drop and instead creep up slowly as local bargain hunters cherry pick. Generally, I think the election brohaha and the current country outlook is already priced into the current depressed valuation of most stocks, resulting in very low PE's and PB's. Should outlook change prices will start creeping up slowly. Pray outlook changes for the better and does not deteriorate further. |
gbengafaro1986:Only Unity, Union and FBNH outstanding. Despite FBNH submitting since last week of January, CBN has not yet approved it. Maybe it will be released with Q1. |
arduino:Some have started buying with reserve money since last week. As the reserve will be replenished from tomorrow. |
lancee:This can cause the market to go up slightly as some investors try to use their dividends to go bargain hunting. |
GANDALF1:Chai. |
BabsO2:Where did this last hour FBNH bull of the first quarter go |
GANDALF1:That means the good tide started with him. Where was he in the last two years ? |
emmanuelewumi:Is it the CEO under which this occurred that is crossing over to FBNH ? |
Mpeace:It started making very heavy losses under UACN. Looks like something is not really right in profitability of the property sector especially from their end. Perhaps smaller players under cutting them or the sector has issues with profitability. |
Princkez:A bull lifted the price ![]() |
GANDALF1:Zenith is on sales someone is dumbing. I guess remnants of FPI's whom still have a high proportion of Zenith shares. Sales is going on in GTCO too. UBA is not on sales as it seems no one is dumping persee. If dividend markdown is taken into view. It's like trading at N8.5 But Zenith post markdown has gone on sales. let me look for that website that has % of FPI. The last time I looked Zenith was the highest. Followed by GTCO with UBA following closely. ![]() |
Mpeace:That should present more buying opportunities for local investors then. Especially those that were praying for the price not to leave the N240 range. Their prays may have been answered. And may even get it lower ![]() |
pizapato:Not impossible ![]() Looking at the price trend of Transcorp. The Price went up the whole of February. With a peak of N1.34 during the day of Thursday the 24th. As if the word was oozing out that a good result has been baked. Could crystal ball gazers using TA with or without connection to stock-trade execution systems spot this apart from those acting on any spills from internal accountants and external auditors. But by Monday the 28th of February the price started going down. The board meeting that was to hold the next day 1st of March was cancelled. The public were notified I guess at the close of business on Tuesday that the board meeting was cancelled. But somehow the price even started dropping a day ahead of this notification to the public. The price continued it's downward journey till Friday the 25th of March with a closing price of N1.07. The public got the results and dividend announcement after the close of business of this Friday the 25th of March. For Transcorp, seems some people acted on the good results that was not yet released to the public that they got wind of using TA or whatever. And also acted to exit on the poor dividend payout proposed by management somehow ahead of notification to the public. For Total perhaps some have got wind of not too good results or are just speculating using TA etc. |
