Hello Nairalanders, please come to my rescue.

My neighbour and I have been sharing one prepaid meter for about 3 months now. We recharge 5k worth of units expecting it to last for months Unfortunately, it doesn't last more than a week. My neighbours regularly use their twin hotplates to cook, water heater jug, one fridge and a freezer, they iron frequently and also failed to replace their bulbs with energy saving bulbs.

Please Nairalanders, what can I do about this? I'm sick and tired of everything.
Please I need suggestions.

Sharing prepaid meter is the mother of all bad ideas!

For instance, i use LED bulbs that are rated 10w but pump out 1300 lumens which is quite bright. Infact i had to lower my generator speed cos it would be a waste of money.

Meanwhile, my neighbours are using the ever green 100 watts bulb and some flimsy 25 watts energy saving bulbs but obviously energy consuming along side some other equipments which consume much.

But still, we will be paying same amount when it eventually comes and that will start issues; Despite me using very less energy!

Best thing, get your prepaid meter to avoid wahala jare!

Then like a week later she has came to my place with my nephew only 1 year 6 months that she want to spend time with me because she misses me , according to her she was supposed to stay for a week but with this lockdown , things did not go according to plans , it will be 3 weeks on Wednesday , the space is not even big , I have been spending the day with them and when is evening I’m squatting with friends , while I leave my mum and fiancé in the house and she had been giving my fiancé lots of problems that today she has told me , she cannot stand my mum anymore and she want to leave and go and squat with her friends , I have been begging her to stay but she refused. Well, i know that feeling... I think as a man, you have to come to terms with yourself about what u want in life! Your mum will eventually grow old and die! That is a fact but if she misleads u, can u live with the consequences?

Secondly, you shouldn't have allowed her to come in the first place! See, me and my younger sister, from same father and mother, we don't see eye to eye about a lot of things! How much more, my mum? Same goes with my dad! We disagree on a lot of things but the fact is, they are my parents and will always be!

They are entitled to their opinions and so am I. Everyone stands to be corrected over time.

Decide what u want and stand by it!

What is the guarantee that you and this your fiancee will get married and stay married?

On the other hand, what is the guarantee that the so called lady your mama wants u to marry will end well?

The decision is yours!

As things are, allow your fiancee to stay with her friends till your mama leaves! You obviously can't chase her away!

But be very diplomatic and objective in all that u do and also pray along!

Life has a way of messing with us all and can also be very funny!

7kg of water? Is that a ship's balast? The 7kg written on thw machine is the weight of clothes the machine can carry and still operate.

OP, your soakaway is bad, poorly constructed, absorbing ground water or someother matter. Get a professional to work on it. The washing machine has nothing to do with it.

The only issue with your neighbour seems to be his unwillingness to be understanding of your fears, enough to try to allay them. And I am not surprised. Your complaints must sound extremely silly to his ears.

Good evening FAM,I need so clarifications to an issue.

We stay in a semi detached flat where we share the same average sized soakaway with our neighbor.

The challenges we always face is that the soakaway get filled easily and whenever it's been evacuated by waste management truck am always surprised that what they evacuate is over 80% of liquid.

Now the bone of contention is that my neighbor bought a washing machine last year and I discovered he connected the discharge pipe straight into the soakaway.

I had a dialogue with him that should connect the pipe out instead of fixing it into the same soak away that gets full quick,he said oh there is no issue with that that the washing machine doesn't use more than 1 litre of water and besides they only make use of it once a week.

Pls FAM is it true washing machines don't consume more than 1 litre of water?

The last time we evacuated the soakaway was on the 27th of December 2019,as I am typing this the soakaway has already showing a sign that it is full again.

Washing machines shouldn't be connected directly to soakaway na!

It should be connected to the normal drainage pipe for kitchen and bathroom water!

Meanwhile, an average washing machine can use up to 7kg of water depending on the capacity!

Pls am planning to buy Toyota Avalon 2002 model. Though I knew the car isn't well use in town like the likes of Corrola and Camry but am about to get it for my own personal use.
Pls I will like your professional advice, uses, defect and maintenance of the car.

Well, i've never used a Avalon before but i know they share same platform (engine) with Highlander and Sienna.

Just ensure u buy one with engine and gear in good condition.

For comparative fuel economy, check this site:

Then select the first option: "find and compare cars".

Select the year the car was manufactured and other options, and u will see the required data and also, u could compare its fuel economy with that of other models

1k fuel is about 6.9 liters! Most gen will run 2-2.5hours per litre! 2 x 6.9litres = 12 hours so its very possible.

Especially if not fully loaded and u turn down the speed!

I have only run it for lesser than 5 hours 30 mins. and have lost half tank already. I bout fuel N1600 10 litres.

I only power my small fridge and ceiling fan.

it's not economically viable as I will spend like 1k everyday alone just to power it from 6-7 o'clock to 11-12 o'clock.

Adjust the fuel intake valve .... clockwise i think (find out which one to turn o)! Cos most likely, your gen is running super rich: pumping more than fuel needed into the cylinder!

Had same issue with a 1.8kva i bought back then till i invested some time into some youtube videos!

Today, the fuel consumption is better! It does go down if i use it to run my deep freezer though!

If that does not work, then change the carb as suggested above

Edit - to those who may be wondering about my username, I created this account whilst trying to help two kids who were victims of rape.

2. Sex at least 3 times a week? I stopped trying to initiate it after so many rejections.

3. Not to forget important dates such as our wedding anniversary?

4. To at all time be the one making my meal.

Please note she practically doesn't work now. We are setting up a fashion house for her she has taken over 3m from me as of the time of writing this. Note my cloths go to dry cleaners. Only thing she does is cook my meal ( when she wants ).

I am beginning to think maybe I am a mental health patient who doesn't know yet. Maybe something is wrong with me and I am just reacting based on that?

Used the Hp elitebook 8540p for a while. Infact, i still have it. Its a nice laptop. Upgraded mine to 8gb ram and a faster hard drive.
I use it for motion graphics and 3d jobs.
Its not the best but will get the job done now with your low budget.

Actually, i've tried most of these networks with my 4g lte mifi!

Airtel 4g is 4g but they have been experiencing some network sluggishness for weeks!

Mtn had their issues too and sent text messages to address it but i suspected they were upgrading their network speed cos i was getting 2mbps before, now i get 6bmps upwards!

Bros, go and buy 4g lte device!

These phones can't achieve the full speed of 4g network without heating up!
